Love the guitar work. Takasaki should be mentioned among the great guitar heroes of that time. LOUDNESS are great. I remember just being some German kid loving Rock back then in the Eighties. Some guy would show up with "Thunder in the East". I still love and celebrate that album these days. Great Rock Music! Nippon rules! Perhaps we're all clockwork toys, who knows...
Back in 1983, I was 14yrs old when i discovered this record, and was blown away. Maybe a year or 2 later 1986 Metallica's Master of puppets came out and changed metal forever. However, loudness has some awesome songs and i bought several albumbs from loudness before Thunder in the East, Like Disillusion which is just as good a record. Some other early metal bands before 1986 in metal were TKO, Q5, Accept, Malice, Icon really unknown bands. But the best by far in early 80's was Iron Maiden.

most excellent. found these guys from kerrang magazine, back in the 80s. saw em at the old bayou club in Washington DC. they killed.
