    In the endgame after Rxa4, Qc3+ picks up a rook. If Kf2 or e2, Qc2+ picks up the a4 Rook. Kf4 picks up the d1 Rook with Qf3+. Rd3 blocks the check yet surrenders the Rook.

      Fairy Stockfish is brilliant at maneuvering me into letting it off with a draw. The more lopsided the balance is, the greater the danger of getting suckered into a stalemate. I used to get stalemated on most occasions. Now I am far more careful and play a plodding game at the end to prevent stalemate, but even now occasionally it finds a way to obtain a stalemate.

      I frequently get 3 queens vs. Fairy Stockfish. It doesn't worry about pawns until they reach the seventh rank. So I leave pieces and back rank pawns undefended to attract its attention, while patiently marching three pawns to the seventh rank. Then it realizes "Oh snap! Those pawns are about to queen." Too late now.

    b3 would've been better than a3 for the opponent, forcing the queen back because if you capture a2 then R2a1 Qb2 and R6a2 would have trapped the black queen?

    • @lucag.b.5994
      @lucag.b.5994 11 місяців тому

      Are you refering to 18:55?
      I'm not sure what you mean by R6a2, bc that would just hang the rook, if we talk about the same position.
      Also b3, Qxa2; Ra1, Qb2; now Rfb1 would trap the queen, if the whites c-pawn was defended. Sadly it's not, so the black queen escapes, while winning a pawn.
      Still a nice idea :)
