While providing security detail in an unnamed African country for its prime minister, N'Mani, Raiden and his team are attacked by rogue PMC Desperado. While Raiden fends off their forces, their leader Sundowner manages to kidnap N'Mani. Raiden attempts to pursue them, battling a Metal Gear RAY, but arrives too late to save N'Mani from being executed by Sundowner. Sundowner's comrade, Jetstream Sam, fights and defeats Raiden in a duel, with Raiden losing his left eye and left arm in the process. Sam nearly executes Raiden, but Boris's timely arrival saves him. Raiden collapses from his wounds but survives, and Doktor later gives him a new black cyborg armor which grants him much more power.
We already did this game many years ago, but wanted to replay it now and in max setting in Ultra HD. It was a blast, and an excellent installment to the Metal Gear franchise. It's a shame we didn't get more spin-offs like this one! As always we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to stitch together a fluid cinmeatic experience. We hope you enjoy!

We already did this game many years ago, but wanted to replay it now and in max settings in Ultra HD. It was a blast, and an excellent installment to the Metal Gear franchise. It's a shame we didn't get more spin-offs like this one!
It's a crime that they never did. It was so much fun
This was the first Metal Gear game I played, and I had such a blast. The music may be the best part, especially how the songs are used during the boss battles (with the lyrics kicking in at the right moments). This one's certainly a jewel on Platinum's crown.
Well, we can blame Konami for the apparent discontinuation of anything Metal Gear. As I understand it, with Kojima's departure and Konami holding the rights to Metal Gear, and the massive failure of Metal Gear Survive, it's very unlikely we'll be getting anything Metal Gear related any time soon.

Why do I find the fact that Armstrong not only helped Raiden get on his feet but also dusted him off after pummeling him so charming?
Really proves to show that he had no choice but to pummel raiden when he opposes his ideals but will willingly accept him as a friend if he decides to join him

Keep in mind that when Raiden activates “Blade mode” everything’s moving slow for him. But in real-time, he’s moving at the blink of an eye.

One little detail I love is that during the beginning and Sam goes to leave, as he jumps he misses the handle, having to reach out to grab at it again
I didn't notice that till you said it.
It's the first slight hint at what is revealed much later on, that he has almost no cybernetics.

This game was definitely made by memers. From Monsoon’s speech about memes, to the guy with the anime magazine in the security booth. Not to mention the sound effect when enemies spot you, and Raiden wearing shoes similar to high heels and freaking out when a women looks at him. The entire character of Senator Armstrong is an elaborate meme, he drop kicks Raiden, AND pulls a Dragon Ball Z move before the fight. Literally got me standing here, I realize.
Honestly what makes this game truly great is that it’s a revolutionary hack-and-slash that just so happens to tell a compelling narrative regarding the nature of human conflict and ambition. Memes aside, Senator Armstrong is a truly great MGS villain who I can see myself siding with if not for all the atrocious things he did in pursuit of his ambitions.

That gameplay looks so badass, can't believe I never played, even though I recall watching the trailer. Feels like Ghost of Tsushima except its MGS and its equally awesome. Truly ahead of its time.
Fun facts: MGR’s soundtrack was made by the same guy who did Disney’s Toontown online
Jamie Christopherson. He also composed Blade & Soul, as well as Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth.
Toontown Online is CRIMINALLY unknown - almost as if Disney tried to erase it from history itself. Where Toontown Online's soundtrack was mostly passable but kind of meh, MGR was Christopherson's chance to show his full potential. And ho boy, 10 years since 2003, he's come a long way.

This game aged so well. The amount of people discovering this game and genuinely supporting Armstrong is a true testament to how highly insightful the Metal Gear team is, with or without Kojima. He would not only be realistic, but incredibly popular.

As cool as Snake is, nothing beats Raiden and the Metal Gear Rising game in my eyes. Awesome action, music, and story. What's not to love. Although, I can't say much since I've only seen Metal Gear Rising and none of the metal gear solid games. But You can see my point in saying, they should've given Raiden an equal amount of attention as the developers given Snake. That and I'm horrible at stealth which is why I usually avoid metal gear solid games

I never did play the full game on PS3, I only had the Demo.
When I got my PSN CARD, I chose Ratchet Deadlocked HD and BG&E.
Because those were the games I desired to get, and they were worth it.
