Just got a free sample of this and I personally really like it. Probably this and halfeti are my favs from Penhaligon's. I'd probably rank them like this:
1a. Halfeti (This is a scent that actually develops nicely over time. Smells like woody Christmas and then seemingly turns into vanilla)
1b.Imitible William Penhaligon
2a. Juniper Sling
2b. Endymion concentrate
3. Tragedy of Lord George
4. Quercus (really fresh, but maybe more a typical scent than the others to me)
5. Blenheim bouquet (just not nearly powerful enough imo)
I've also smelled 2 female fragrances : Bewitching Jasmine and Luna.
I really like Bewitching Jasmine. Idk if it's vanilla in there or spice something else that captures my senses or what. But it's very good.
Luna is like grabbing flowers and wearing them all day. A little too floral where it's not nearly as sexy as Bewitching Jasmine imo
Awesome line up @Jordan. It's clear that you're a big Penhaligon's fan too (I love your line up and totally agree)....I think everyone new to this House should grab any of the ones you've listed and they will be impressed.

This is an amazing fragrance, I like to wear opus 1870, Blenheim bouquet or racquets in the day.
I like the duke, terrible teddy, endymion concentre and sartorial for the evening.
It's clear that you're a Penhaligon's fan😎. I love all the ones that you recommended; these guys create amazing fragrance's, plus I love the bottles🧡

I picked this up on a whim at the penhaligons duty free shop while on a layover at hamad intl airport. They even had it on sale at half price for their ramadan discount! without any hesitation i bought this and lord george. total for both was around USD350! score!!! =]

Had to chuckle as the images went by at first. Miles, Indy, Oprah, Alberto. Okay, yes. And? That's when I realised a lot of folks would just NOT know who 1 and 4 were. Also a fan of the Penhaligon's Portrait line. Roaring Radcliff being my personal favourite.
100% correct Steve…. I tested these images first with people around me to see if I was going to be correct with my assumptions. Like you mentioned 1 and 4 I had a few people scratching their head🤷🏽♂️
And yes Roaring Radcliffe is divine
I'm becoming a big fan of Penhaligon's, But I wish that they had smaller bottles. I don't need a hundred ml and I don't want to pay $300 for it. Fortunately you can get reasonably priced decants but then you miss out on that awesome presentation.
Have you tried Halfeti Cedar yet? Instant love for me.
Yep those beautiful bottles really capture your attention and it's so nice to line them up on the shelf...they look so awesome together😎 (they've done a good job on tempting those 'collectors' out there😩)....and then the perfumes are awesome!!
Haven't had the chance to test Cedar yet, but have been told that it's amazing; clearly you're a fan🤔

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector hey brother. I got a question. Is it true you can use molecule 01 before the fragance to make it last longer? Have you tried it? On me Creed lasts for a few hours because it’s summer here in Miami and I sweat a lot; so, I’m looking for a way to make the fragance last longer and with more projection time
@@ebenezer357 Hmmm, this one I don't know about. I've tried using Molecule 01, so can't weight in on this point. I know that fragrance in humid weather is a tough one, but because I don't have direct experience with this I would only be speculating. Melbourne experience's a dry heat; and as a result fragrance's stick around more and on me they really pop

OK, so The Inimitable William Penhaligon is the new Penhaligon's Portrait Series release. A masculine Woody Oriental. Does it have a cute little biography that comes with it? Don't all the Portraits releases have that? Like The Tragedy of Lord George having a "secret". I'm about to trigger a purchase of The Tragedy of Lord George and that will be my first Portraits Series fragrance. I have a long way to go. It would be very cool to have every one in a personal collection, especially with the bottle designs. Same with the Maison Martin Margiela Replica Series fragrances. I have a decant of At the Barbers so I need to get a bottle. I also have a bottle of Jazz Club. What would be your recommendation for my second Penhaligon Portraits purchase after ToLG? I usually start with a brand's fougeres so that's why I will start with Lord George.
Funny as I was bring this episode together I was thinking about you @James Thomas and the conversation that we had on 'Lord George' and I was wondering if you had jumped in already. I know that you have a rule "Barbershop First"...but I would throw a spanner in the works and get you to test this one next to Lord George (I think you already know where my vote goes to😬). And yes, he has a storyline too, similar to all the other Portraits.
From here, where do you go...tough question. I would recommend you test these ones to see which ones really pops for you (BTW, I love all of these and would recommend in this order):
- Terrible Teddy
- Uncompromising Sohan
- The Duke
- Roaring Radcliffe
There's others, but these are the ones that I own and really enjoy

The opening reminds me of amouage meander.
I’m going to have to test this out for myself. From memory when I spray Meander, I’m getting that minty opening; whereas with this one, it’s more of a floral incense vibe. But going to test side by side; you’ve peaked my interest on this.

Good question....not sure?? It does feel like a 'mature' man's scent (say early 30's onwards)...but I know some very mature early 20's young men that this fragrance could work on them.
I think it's more about who is wearing the fragrance. The scent trail that this omits has a level of 'seriousness' about it. Makes one feel of a man in a suit or at least well dressed.
It's an exceptional fragrance, and I would suggest that you test on skin and see how it makes you feel....if it feels right, then go for it 😇

How many sprays for this one?
I have a very clear rule of thumb…only three sprays maximum on any perfume.
The only time I break this rule is with a citrus fragrance and I do for sprays.
And you? How do you roll…

Actually for inimitable willam I do like 6+ sprays
It's kinda annoying how fragrances do not last long on me.
