Again, Kurt Elling proves he is the master of jazz vocals globally today. Thank you Mr. Elling for this fantastic contribution to the body of your already masterful work.
I don't get why ppl are so fussy. This is an awesome video, an ambrosial rendition of Bjork's 2004 tune and it was done at Birdland...!!! What more could you want? Elling RULES jazz vocals, therefore whatever faults you may look for should never matter. He appears to be having fun here, good times man. If you are a fan and have seen him live, you KNOW that he is Jazz, period. AWESOME SONG, AWESOME VID!! Thank you Mr. Elling and Concord for this beautiful piece.
Yes I saw him at Telus Centre in Toronto before the pandemic and that live performance really stayed with me. This video reminded me of that live performance.
It is nothing less than astonishing to me that Kurt could make this into such a lovely performance, delivering the message of the song so beautifully, and including his lovely wife. I cannot listen to Bjork --- AT ALL.
As expected Kurt Elling is the ultimate singer/musican. I just love his smooth voice. I love the way he puts his signature style on songs and makes it his own. I don't think he has ever done anything that I didn't like or enjoy. Thank you Kurt for your contribution to music in my life and others.
Hi there, my name is Antonio Ponti, I was the director of the video, thanks for the comments, by the way, her name is Carmit Levite, and Kurt's wife was behind camera during filming that day. Enjoy!
Chuck Flowers . Thanks Chuck. I just received my copy today.so I will be able to get the vibe on the entire cd. Kurt is my very favorite living vocalist. I was just a little disappointed with this track. I have always thought his offerings were pure perfection and this track was just mundane.
Ditto, my dear. Carolyn, by now you've listened to the entire project. I was very moved by it. Yes, this song does seem a bit out of place but perhaps he was trying to lighten the emotional intensity since every other song literally tears at your heart strings.
Carolyn Spilly To me? This song is a little different for him but still a good song and once more...hate to say it but it has pop appeal, lol. I hope that it reaches a new audience for him for those who've not heard of him. He is still that awesome jazz/vocalese singers we love though.
I'll get to experience Passion World live in about a week and a half at Millennium Park.... looking forward to it. While I understand the need for an artist to expand his artistic vision and his audience (can't really fault the guy for wanting to make a buck), I hope he revisits his jazz roots soon.
I have long LOVED Kurt Elling, but this just feels wrong. Awkward and contrived - things I never associated Ellling with. What happened to the hippest hep cat?
This is the type of music our kids should be listening to!
listening to this quietly is as simple and beautiful as breathing ahhhh 💕💕✌🏽✌🏽

Sweet.
Soooo romantic💕💕
So so beautiful! And I love the song choice!
I follow Kurt on FB, he is a busy and hard working guy. I love this song.
Fan of Kurt when I first met him in the early 1980's at The Grand Opera House in Oshkoh, Wisconsin respectfully!
I heard this song on Jazz FM 91 streaming online and HAD to know who the singer is....great song. I am a fan.
This is a beautiful song. I like it 😍
I just adore this song.
Where has he been? I love his voice, this song, the lyrics....everything! Kurt, you have a beautiful voice. I could listen to it all day long.
Great to see a high-production video for Kurt! Nice work; lovely song. Shout out from Chicago!
beautifull song!thank to jazz radio in lyon who make me discover kurt elling!
sublime...
This is going to be Kurt's crossover song, I'm sure of it! I will be playing it to death on Jazz FM!
njwilliamscom I agree! Crossover hit. Big fan of Kurt Elling
+njwilliamscom Why "crossover"
@@Solcius123123 It's because it has a pop sensibility.
Grande album... grande Kurt!
Cool arrangement. Nice take on the tune.
Да. Это очень красиво.
I like him!!!!
This a beautiful interpretation of Bjork's original version.

WOW!
11th song from NEW ALBUM.

I like this version. And I like the Bjork version.
The Best
Это лучшее, что я слышала в жизни ! ❤️
Да ладно Вам! 😀
such an amazing song. Just sent it to my partner who is always there for me
Elling meets Bjork? Yes! (But, then again, I'm reminded that Elling covered the very beautiful King Crimson tune "Matte Kudasai," years ago.)
Why is Bjork's name not mentioned anywhere in title or description?
Great performance, by the way.
As of now Bjork is credited as writer in the official description. Perhaps she wasn't when your comment was posted, however.
Just opened Curt Elling, why just now?(

Love this song. Love his voice. Love this video. I could listen to him all day. :) Who is the lady in the video, anyone know?
+mari gilbert Just a hunch, but it could be his wife Jennifer Carney.
it's an actress, not jennifer!

Kurt elling will miss his collaborator/musical director Laurence Hobgood, back to real JaZzKurt!!!!
do you know they split?
@@pputnam100 yeah it’s tough man the reason either money or tired and wants another challenge
@@andri_liuziu close to 20 years is a long association
Is the lady in the video really his wife?
Who's the chick?
It's OK...I just want the jazz singer back.
Carolyn Spilly He's still the jazz singer. This is just crossover attempt, I like it. The rest of the project is more of his jazz style.

Sounds very much like he is taking a leaf out of Gregory Porters book.....most uncomfortable to watch though
I thought the same thing!
I think Kurt Elling looks uncomfortable.
Kurt's been on the scene over 20 years, maybe GP was influenced by him instead?
Ok, This a Bjork cover... I prefer her version, sorry
means nothing .
