      @@fusionfirearmsso how do we remedy this issue do we just dremel the corner of the mag ? Or go for a more pointed ejector

    I’ve had this unfortunate-ality be the exact problem twice. Luckily, my friend is a Marine armorer from back in the 45 days.

    Have not personally run into ejector-caused feeding problems but have seen more than one ejected brass in the face problems. Is there an ejector nose angle that you have found is usually problem free?

    • @fusionfirearms
      @fusionfirearms  Рік тому +2

      There is rally no specific angle. there are so many variables with loads, spring weights, interference's in the assembly itself, you generally just have to play with it and test. Generally a slight angle about 5-15 deg, leading out towards ejection port.

      @@fusionfirearms Thank you for feedback. Good to know that there is not one magic angle that always works.

    Had this happen to me on my 70-Series Colt Combat Commander. The ejector was actually loose in the frame & was found wheni it could be rocked back & forth by hand. A gunsmith refitted it & my feeding issue was solved.

    I think that my Dan Wesson Razorback may just be having a break in period since I've only shot 200 rounds. But I have had about 4 failure to feeds every 50 rounds.

      It might just need some further tuning for the ammo you are running

    Could you post a video about why one would throw brass directly back at you're face?

    • @fusionfirearms
      @fusionfirearms  Рік тому +1

      Yes, if this is happening you can generally just change the recoil spring and/or front angle of the ejector to help this.

  • @MrMicahMane
    @MrMicahMane 2 роки тому +1

    If your ejector was to get bent or come lose would it potentially cause a lot of friction between my frame and slide?

    • @fusionfirearms
      @fusionfirearms  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, this could happen, If so, replace the ejector.

    How is it with all the modern CNC machining, and over a 100 years of knowledge on the 1911 platform this handgun almost constantly has “issues?” I would completely understand these issues 50 years ago or more due to the machining technology of that time, but now???? So frustrating…….

    • @fusionfirearms
      @fusionfirearms  2 роки тому +6

      Variables in parts and manufacturing. You have to remember, as the industry has evolved to mostly plastic, Skilled tradesmen and gunsmiths who understand the platform and mechanics, are in very short supply. Also, Most of these videos are meant for the "Home Builder", and many folks are using a mix/mash of parts from many different manufactures, used parts, surplus parts...etc, with many different processes. So, you will run into these issues from time to time and we want to make sure we cover all the bases of issues that we see as we work on 1000's of 1911's from basically every manufacture out there.

    i called you guys today. the person on the phone was not mean or rude but frankly didn't give a shit. I had a ton of questions and just met with short abrupt answers like i was wasting his time. So i only asked a couple of questions because i did not feel like prying answers out of him. How do i get a hold of someone in there that frankly gives a shit and would be willing to answer my questions on a 2011 build with a 7" slide and barrel. and answers about fitting ect.

    • @fusionfirearms
      @fusionfirearms  2 роки тому +2

      Sir, We are short staffed and very busy moving into the year end. If you have a ton of questions, we are sorry but we cannot spend hours on the phone with 1 customer. We have 100's of calls everyday and have to use time efficiently or we cannot get to everyone. Try calling some of the other 1911 companies, you will not even get a call back or anyone to talk to. We try hard to help everyone, but we only have so much time. If you have specific questions you can email to me at rserva@outlook.com and I will help you.
