Im a C17 Mechanic of 18 years and i've never seen anything like this in my life.
Normally, pilots would return back to gate when they see a small squirrel or something. In this case, and entire crowd is surrounding them and these pilots have the guts to takeoff dragging along with them...

There's no propellers inside the engines, the windows have no glare and a good few of them would be sucked under by the sheer draft if it was a genuine C17, seeing as they are big birds!! 😂😂😂

@@oleggorky906 Its a turbine, not a propeller. You cant see them because of the shutter speed of the camera... at a curtain point when the engines go off camera you can kind of see them if you look closely.

Where is the picture of the actual take off? Being this close to the front of the engine at anything above 20% of full power would create a vacuum and the wash from the back from these engines, which are considerably more powerful than commercial aircraft, would have people flying on their own down the runway, I'd at a guess imagine each engine would have around 40,000lbs of thrust, something looks off, I'm a commercial pilot,.

I was wondering the same thing. How are the people in front of the engines not getting sucked up and chewed to ribbons? Even at idle those things gobble up incredible amounts of air and then blast it out at the back, which leads to the second question: how can people remain standing behind the engines? Just look at what happens at St. Maarten airport when a jet takes off.

This was like Vietnam Saigon, and to be honest - I did not expect to see this again in the 21st Century with almost 60 years old - this is so sad! My deeply respect goes to the Crew of the C-17, REACH 871! They have saved the lifes of hundreds of people and their children with their quick reaction and take off even out of some rules. But the C-17 handled this so easy without any safety risks!

I hope I won't start a debate by saying that but hear me out : the whole thing is fishy. Medias manipulate footage, it's a well-known fact, a lot of them are staged too, using the same actors for different operations. It's usually meant to be a distraction while something more important is taking place elsewhere. I've watch the Kabul airport footage time and time again, slowed it down and watched everything that was going on at the same time. The footage is quite short anyway, less than 20 seconds but that's the footage they keep showing all the time and not much else. And before telling me I'm a nut case, slow it down too and rewatch it VERY CAREFULLY. You'll see a lot of joggers smiling and waving at the camera. Yes, a lot are SMILING. It doesn't seem like a "rational" reaction to jog ( not one of them are running like they say ) alongside a plane about to take off. What would be the point anyway ? They are not banging on the plane, nor trying to stop it or trying to climb it either, most of them are in fact not even at plane's reach. There's 3 or 4 men on the side of the plane tho, not even hanging on to anything or attempting to help other people climb, they just casually sit there as chill as cucumbers. No women or children in sight either, only men, some with cellphone in their hands and not seemingly upset, crying, yelling or pushing each other around. If you are desperate enough to risk being run over by a plane, wouldn't it show on your face and behavior ? And what about people "falling" from the sky ? I didn't see anyone fall, I saw 2 black things fall but I can't even say what it is, could be a mannequin for all I know. How did those "people" expect to be able to breathe during the flight anyway at this height ? I would have take my chance on the ground instead of facing a certain death in the sky. Those people don't even have luggage or even a small bag of personnal belongings, weird for people attempting to flee the country and leave everything behind. So I dunno what to believe anymore. Maybe I'm just stupid but that footage seems quite faked or at least staged to some extent. I'm opened to different opinions tho and I'd be glad to reconsider the whole thing if someone can politly provide explanations.

If it wasn't hard solid, I think it would show with the man's shoes and the bottoms of the sitting ones, it would sink a bit in the balloon. There's alot more than just this footage, there's even passenger footage of a person who got lodged in a part of the plane, with half his body sticking out and his limbs completely broken by the wind pressure, flapping about.
The people are uneducated and desperate, they don't have the capacity to understand the realistic outcome of the situation. They're blinded by fear and latch on to what they think is a solution to their problem. But in reality what they end up doing is just comitting suicide.
Im guessing they expected the plane to open the doors if they started latching on, maybe it would stop if they showed their desperation. But the plane simply took off, killing a large number of people.

The engines are right where you see them. They are already spinning. The pilot is attempting a takeoff but the crowd is creating a dangerous situation. All it takes is for one of them to accidentally get sucked into an engine and then the pilot is an evil person.
