- Brixham pirate festival,saturday 30th april 2022.
From 9 am lovely walk around brixham,then at 10.15 am the pirate march through town.
Then the music groups, the stall's and such a good family day out.
The festival runs every year for 3 days friday to monday.
A swashbuckling mix of piratical fun and entertainment!
Celebrating the 12th Year!
There will be LOTS of pirates, military and period re-enactors here with guns and cannons to make plenty of noise! We will make sure there is plenty of music too with shanties and pirate rock to keep ye hoppin'. Buskers, jugglers and other entertainers will perform around the streets and harbour of Brixham. There will be other shows, re-enactments and events around the town through the weekend.
Extra special attractions this year include 'Atyla', an 1800s inspired Sailing ship with an impressive construction story and history, the Trafalgar Gun Company with a 10 gun firing platform giving a fantastic display and exclusive evening concerts sure to keep the whole family entertained.
The festival takes place throughout the town with main stage right next to the Golden Hind boat in the inner harbour.
We aim to make the festival suitable for everyone and all ages. There will be events for the kids to watch and take part in like puppet shows and street acts. Historical re-enactments and plays during the day. Fancy dress competition for age groups from little to ancient! Music to suit all tastes and more music in the (pirate filled) pubs in the evening. There will be cannons, guns and music so it might be loud!
Please dress up if you can, whatever you can manage will be fine even if it is just an eye-patch! There will be LOTS of pirates in costume right through the weekend so you will fit right in. We stay in costume in the evening too!

Spent so many happy times in Brixham, we have always stayed in a house on the hill opposite to the fishmarket.
We've never been there when the Pirate Festival is on, but we have been to Fishstock a couple of times. That's brilliant too.
What a brilliant day that looks, so much fun, and such brilliant costumes.

Wonderful fun event. So many taking part and I bet a lively evening was in store. We had four nights in Paignton a couple of weeks ago and a really beautiful afternoon in Brixham. It was not as lively as this though. Nice video once more.

It is a fantastic festival, a good chance to meet Captain Jack Sparrow. The coast is so amazing with a lot of people enjoying the gorgeous time. Whenever I see a bunch of ancient dressed, rough tough jolly seafarer's, I am always reminded of the Blackadder character Redbeard Rum. Interesting video, Deb's. Looks like you had lots of fun.

The first thing that struck me was the place. Brixham beautiful with the small streets and the many colorful houses an it nestles on the coast.

Wow. That was amazing Debs. I don't think I've ever seen so many pirates in one place all at once. We would of loved to have been there to see it. I loved the bit where you were saying that you hoped that people didnt think you were talking to yourself. As you said that the guy to the left gave you a funny look. Hilarious 😂.
