I used to live on the River at Golant, the Clay trains would roll past everyday and I would often walk into Fowey along the lines, Doubt you would be allowed to set foot on the tracks now, there is a small creek right about where the train is first stopped where there was an old mill, it was known locally as the Hippy Colony, Scene of the empty train returning was shot from Golant where I lived, the spot where the cameraman is stood was on the road that ran beside the river which would be underwater at high tide every day so you had to time your journey correctly or use the top road through the village. the local shop would open only on a Wednesday afternoon, the Mermaid Pub was brilliant and a fantastic hotel called the Cormorant overlooked the river. ah memories.
