I've noticed a lot of people confused about the shattering glass. The glass was set to explode when the timer was up. So anyone left on the bridge, after the timer, would die. It was just unfortunate that the mcs finished the game with so little time left on the clock. If there weren't so many hold ups, they could have finished and left the area before the glass shattered.
blasting the panels was an automatic thing for anyone still on the panels once the timer expired, but you're right it disregarded the players welfare. But they haven't shown a great regard for player welfare except for ensuring the games are fair. But keeping it all the way funky, their standard are situational window dressing and we all know this and that's another subtle statement about the wealthy. The rules only apply when they want the rules to apply.
Shawn, I am speechless of the way you analyzed the series while watching it - I watched it and then so many commentaries and reviews and only then connected to all the points that you bring up and I am really impressed of the clean way in which you analyze it while watching with your viewers. Really really amazing :) Thanks for giving me a few more sides to this experience.
I loved this episode, it was really good. Good choice by the writers to choose this kind of game. It's like you're kind of forced to work together in some way, but also pitted against each other at the same time. Your comments are entertaining and hilarious bro, keep it up.
Sang Woo saved Gi-Han and Sae-Byeok when he pushed the window guy. The clock was running out, and the glass would have blown up and they would have fallen if they had waited even one minute later.
Sang-Woo is nothing if not consistent. Gets progressively more of a bitch as the show goes on, it's astounding. Also, every custom subtitle cracks me tf up every time. Especially "We got that loud" from ep.4 😂
Did you know the VIP who gets knocked out is actually an Italian actor? I woulda thought they might wanna hire an American to have a more convincing accent but whatever.
It's hard to find American actors in SK because of visas and work permits, good US actors are unionized and aren't worth the hassle, so they usually get immigrants with some acting experience for small roles

I would like to point out that when Gi and the others are betting on the horses, we perceive it as humans betting on animals. Alice in Borderland's games were more interesting than Squid game imo. But I think the acting was pretty bad and the characters weren't nearly as good. Still a good show tho.
They all had the chance go leave and not come back, they knew the rules and consequences, and Sang Woo played by said rules. Like only 1 person can leave with all that money, so don't come back expecting to have a happy ending with the game. Sang Woo played to win, which I personally cannot be mad about in the slightest. Your commentary is genuinely so great and your custom captions also have me laughing so hard. I really hope you continue doing this with other series!! (YOU S3 would be great)
From my experience on that glass game, I would literally ask the person behind me to use the shoe that you took off. Because if the glass didn’t break from that marble then the item I thought I could use is the shoe. I’ll use my full force to throw as hard as a I can if it shattered. I know people would be thinking “oh, I would use the line in between the glass”. How if 1. You have to balance yourself 2. One of the shattered glass is on the line so if you step on it by your weight than you are done.
Say all you want about Sangwoo, but it was made clear from the get-go that there'd only be 1 winner. Everyone in the show is a murderer just by surviving, might as well realize that sooner, and play to win.
Nah but if u win u dont win. U come out as a person who is irreparably traumatised and who was molded into a terrible moralless animal because of the scumbaggery and apathy required to win the game. After you win the money, does it mean anything? Are the friends you’ve killed, the irreversible change of self worth it? is it worth selling your soul to become an emotionless shell of who you once were that feels and believes in nothing? Yes theyve been forced into these positions by the dog-eat-dog nature of capitalism - however, arguably suffering the pain and horrors of that system to survive may be better than to have your life bet on like a horse for some Sadist cunts pleasure - or maybe both situations both amount to something quite similar (with the game being at least funner and more stimulating and less gruelling, dreary than their normal lives). All that is up for debate I think if i did somehow get roped into the game i would not play to win, i would either sacrifice myself for someone’s benefit or kill myself as both seem better options than winning the game.
