This is a lovely fly, Sir; catchy, caught me anyway. Was just browsing the net; lovely proportions and everything - well done. One that stands out.
Great video - still learning about tying flies, and this made my first batch of BWOs as easy as could've been. Now, to see if the trout agree...
I'm glad you liked it. Hopefully you can get into a good BWO hatch this spring
Thank you for posting how you made this fly, I'm new to fly fishing So thank you very much!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it and good luck in your new addiction.
Looks like a fairly easy straight forward pattern that should catch trout in a lot of different water.
my favorite, going to try to tie one now :)
Good looking pattern - I will have to tie a few of these. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Looks like a good similar basic day fly pattern Thanks
Thank you! Simple and effective
Excellent. Thank you.
Excellent lesson as always guys
What material did you use for the wing? Came out great thanks for the video!
regular gray Poly yarn you may be able to get at a craft store
@@smittysflybox Awesome thank you for the response!
Wow ok
Any substitutions for the yarn?
Sorry for the late reply. You could use hackle feather tips , turkey flats for a thorax style. The yarn is easiest for me and the fish don’t seem to mind
Two years and i still can't see the materials used?
Sorry about that!Hook- Daiichi 1120 dry fly hookThread- 8/0 olive uni threadTail- gray saddle fibers or microfibbetts Dubbing- olive superfineWing- gray polypropylene yarnHackle- whiting gray saddle hackle
What size hook?
We like to use Daiichi 1180 size 16-20
Thanx
Why not list the recipe of materials. It would make a good presentation much more informative.
Thanks for the input! We will post those
I've always wondered this myself.
