This is a great tag, Nikki! I think the thing most non-collectors fail to understand is that we do get attached. I don't even think it's just to the doll itself; it's because that doll represents something to us about ourselves or maybe about someone we love, or a life experience we had such as parenthood, or maybe one that we wanted but didn't get to have, again, such as parenthood. Maybe the doll represents part of our own inner child. Maybe it represents innocents, or happiness and relaxation that takes us out of our busy, cluttered, stressed adult lives for just a few minutes. No matter what it is, the thing that non-doll people often fail to understand is that it hurts when they criticize or judge harshly. Most of us learn to deal with it. We try to deal with it gracefully. But it still hurts because they're not criticizing a child's toy or even a piece of artwork. They're criticizing something deep inside us. I recently experienced this. I did handle it calmly, and explained with the help of a fellow doll-lover who was with me and admiring my babies. I then invited the critical person to pick them up and touch and handle them, and also said I understood if it wasn't his thing and he would like some distance, but that my space was a judgment free zone. He did choose to handle them and look at things from a different perspective, and while he didn't like dolls in general any better after the encounter, he expressed more kindness and understanding. That experience was really encouraging and uplifting!
@@SpecialAngelArtDolls Oh my goodness Nicole...well said! I couldn't have explained it any better. And the icing on the cake of course was the guy looking at the hobby differently. Even though his mind wasn't changing on how he felt; he put into consideration how you felt about it...basically having an open mind. I love it.

Ppl in this world are so vile and disgusting, sorry that you went through all that just trying to share something special with everyone. I love this Pic of baby London. People are just so cruel and self-centered these days and love to troll because they have nothing better to do! Like I said on our video chat, people don't understand how genetics works, so that right there already proved their ignorance. Love you lots, sis!
