I had a chance to look at this new EXB vs the Xmaxx, and XRT in detail. It should be plainly OBVIOUS to everyone , that these trucks are overbuilt and actually worth a few hundred more than a Traxxas . VALUE for money is what it is ALL about in this day, and age. Arrma has really hit the mark on these trucks. BTW I'm no fanboy for ANY brand , BUT I do know VALUE ( relatively speaking ) when I spot it.
I'm not a Traxxas fanboy I own Traxxas and Arrma but I'd take a flexible all plastic Xmaxx over this. The only thing I've broke on mine was a bulkhead and that was because of the stupid hinge pin backing out. $10 bulkhead and it was back up and running again. The Arrma probably comes with more powerful electronics though I'll give it that.
@@666cemetaryslut Exactly, it's what every Plastraxxas fanboy says. The Xmaxx can't even maneuver without toppling over all the time, and the breakage, good grief, you have to upgrade right out of the damn box.
@@spenn2007I own both now and I can tell you that 7075 chassis bends …shock towers split front one ….rod ends needs m2c the chassis will need m2c towers will need upgrading ….. electrics are ok in the outcast crap in the x Maxx …….traxxas plastics have got weak last couple of years and arrma 7075 is a knock off metal it is not proper like m2c …….these 8s rigs are over rated for durability their weight is the issue …….im watching team Corally coming into the fold …..since horizon came in arrma has gone to shit ….traxxas quality control gone to shit
This is what everyone was expecting with the first rendition of the arrma 8s. That 1100kv motor and stronger servo has stepped up the game alot. Great run brother!!!❤
@@EJ-74 no they didn't. I'm just referring to the 8s line-up as a whole. All tho the exb did have a v1 rtr with the smaller motor, esc and servo and I'd thought being the exb first rtr it would have got the bigger systems. Least i think that's how it's gone. I'm not as on tip of the arrma game as I've bin in the past. So don't hold me to that, lol Either way arrma came throw and now the rtr is a truly ARRMA 💪💪💪
@@EJ-74 I have the o8s exb roller that your talking about. And it's bin awsome for the $399.99 I paid for it. I have around a grand in it with max5, hobbystar 980kv motor and 68kg 5th scale servo that's a monster basher for the same price as a xmaxx or arrma 8s rtr. But for those that don't wanna build a truck like I did, this exb 8s rtr v2 is perfect. Gonna beat every rtr on the market hands down.
Dude you just sold me on the large scale upgrade I'm gonna go with. I first started out in this hobby with the 4s outcast.. been wanting to move up. Been torn on do I go trax or arrma. Watching you drive that outcast man...just like I do with my 4s and to see it handle that did it. I'm jealous of your play ground there. That launcher is just insane... I mean you have pushed it to the limits and it's still came out of it... great job arrma. 😂
Another great bash Rich. I already own an outcast 8s and want another one after watching this video. Those stock electronics seem very impressive. Hats off to Arrma / HH for the king of the 5th scales!
An empty field with lots of wind and housing tracts in the back ground. It reminds me of when I was a kid bashing my LXT around in the fields of Lancaster. That thing looks like a lot of fun. My LXT was a monster back in the day, but it could never handle anything close to these jumps. Man RC's have come a long way.
LOL. AA Battery Collectors Item. 10 years from now...value $1000. Nice video and thanks for letting me drive it. Quite impressed with this RTR.....significant upgrade from previous RTR.
Thanks so much Victor 🤗. You were killing it out there with your K6s XL 😱🚀🚀. What a little screamer!!! Yeah I'm genuinely impressed with this new big Beast 😍. I honestly do think most guys will be more than happy with the stock setup and a bit more gear. Can't wait to connect again Brother. I'm sure John is fixing Shelby's rig as well speak 😂🍻😎💪👊👊
The arms seem stronger. I took mine to the skate park on Monday and just crashed all over the place cause I'm so used to driving my Kraton 6s and just don't have the timing yet. The rear dogbones and front universal shafts bent into tacos after super hard side landings and major chassis slaps. The Arms did not crack or break nor did the pins bend. I also broke the rod end on the front chassis brace. the chassis is still straight. I straightened out the shafts and had a spare rod end for the front brace my total cost in repairs was 20 minutes and no money spent so far. It's either the arms and chassis are stronger or the huge chunky wheels are absorbing more. It's a beast! Been driving it every day it's a blast. Glad to see you got one to see what you end up doing.
That's awesome to hear Brother 😱!!! Skateparks are hardcore unforgiving. Yeah the timing is so different with these big Beasts. I'll probably swap for the M2C brace ends and hardened steel brace pins in time. You know you're stressed the truck when the brace ends bust. Sideways landers with these heavy rigs are gnarly 😱👀. I always hold my breath a little 😂. Appreciate your comment my friend!!! 😎💪👊👊
Awesome maiden run with the new RTR buddy the steering looks like it’s 100 times better than the roller and it definitely looks like it’s got plenty of power even with the stock system.
Thanks so much Brother David 🤗. The steering and power is spot on for a seriously fast and capable big Beast 😍. So grateful to get this O8s RTR EXB and absolutely stoked to see ARRMA reach the pinnacle of the large scale 8s class. 🍻😎💪👊👊
Totally agree. Xmaxx is fun, but the O8 looks better, drives better, jumps better +++ Think i have to by the new backflip tires 🤩 You are the king of Big Arrma's🤩 Greetings from Norway
Thanks so much Henning 🤗. Agree 100% Brother. There's no comparison which is the better value for this price point. The new Backflips are friggin awesome!!! 🍻😎💪👊👊
Awesome info breakdown and maiden Brother Rich!🤙Super stoked at the updates and styling of the 8s EXB RTR! Can't wait to run the Kraton!😍They definitely went in the right direction with the upgrades and electronic updates!💪Sweet first run and wicked near head shaver flyby's!😂Looks like she handles nice with the new servo and tires! Looks like you guys had a great time!😎💪🚀🚀
Thanks so much Brother Eric 🤗. ARRMA stepping it up big-time with these new RTRs 👍. The power and steering is on point, just needs more gear out of the box for speed. Love the new bigger Backflips and overall handling 😍. She jumps and stunts awesome!!! Looking forward to seeing your K8s EXB in action Bro. 🍻🤙🤙😎💪👊👊
Super sweet awesome Run and first impressions Rich. all and all that’s a perfect set up for that truck. I’ve been running that set up in my EXB roller for almost a year now and it’s super reliable. Plenty of speed to do what you want to do. But you’re right you can definitely gear up a bit and still be on point with your temps, that body is just beautiful. Might have to order me one for my exb roller. I like the new tires but after running a set I’m not too sure. They’re definitely a great tire and hold up well, but my personal preference I prefer a stiffer tire to hold the truck straight in lose conditions, but other than that pretty awesome thanks for sharing brother you always do awesome vids. 🚀💪🤘😎👊👊
Thanks so very much Brother Aldo 🤗. Yeah I ran the HW 5687 1100 in Big Red for quite awhile and absolutely loved it. So smooth and great top end speed with the right gearing. Loving the new paint and graphics 😍. The V2 Firma 160A and bigger servo feel perfect with the new BB Backflips 👌. I like the cushion and handling over rougher terrain. So far mine are pulling nice and straight, but stiffer tires are nice for holding a line if the surface isn't too choppy. The air control feels spot on 👀. Stoked ARRMA completely stepped up their game for this one and truly appreciate the kind words Brother. 🍻🚀🚀😎💪👊👊
Thanks so much Brother Phil 😁. I was worried she didn't have enough top end to clear the gap, but went absolutely sailing off the new ramp 😱😂. Loving this new setup and had a blast with the crew!!! 🍻😎💪👊👊
Excellent overview, ARRMA knocked it outta the park again! Great bash, looks like she's ready to rock and roll right outta the box now!! For that ramp shaver, I thought she got off pretty cheap. Coulda been WAYY worse! Thanks for posting!
Thanks so very much Brother Avery 🤗. ARRMA put legitimate power into this one 🚀🚀. Love the performance and handling. This EXB RTR makes perfect sense for guys that want to just load packs and rip without sorting which electronics to go with. I'm super impressed. 🤙🤙😎💪👊👊
Awesome video as always. New rig looks like an absolute beast! I love the Arrma rigs and have several but one small point I will say in defense of the XMaxx that you didn't mention is cost of parts. Most of the things you break bashing like bumper mounts and chassis parts are plastic and dirt cheap. A typical bad day with the XMaxx and I'm out tens of dollars maybe. A bad day with the big Arrmas is going to be a lot more expensive....Just something for folks to consider, as equal cost to buy isn't necessarily equal cost to run. Once again, love the channel and what you're doing brother.
Thanks so very much for your thoughtful comment Brother 🤗. Yes I agree many replacement parts on the XMaxx are relatively cheap to replace. The bigger problem I have with the truck is it's not nearly as strong as people claim online. The pot metal gears are a cruel joke. I've spent hours replacing plastic chassis's, bulkheads, gears, servos, towers...etc, like a hamster on a wheel doing the same repairs over again 😫. The XMaxx takes considerable upgrades to have real power and withstand moderate hardcore bashing. It's no where near the value of this truck straight out of the box from my experience. 🍻
Wicked maiden run bro! Nice sends and what a beauty of a rig! I was going to go with the new kraton but I keep seeing people with the new OUTC4ST 8s! Definitely made my mind up now. Thanks for the shred 🤙🏼🤘🏼
@@richduperbash2966 ya bro looks so much fun! I think it’s more durable too because of the shorter chassis and wheelbase Just makes sense to me imo If you had 1 to choose from wha would you choose? I’ll probably end up with both anyways haha 😂
Sweet looking stunt truck. Awesome overview and maiden run brother Rich. I'm really digging the new tires and body. The New servo and motor seems better than previous too. Couldn't agree more about the total value you get with this truck over the Xmaxx. Looks like Big Red got a new brother 😊. Shelby's roofer was nuts LoL 🤣. Another killer session my friend.
Thanks so very much Brother Chris 🤗. ARRMA nailed it with this EXB RTR. No question it has proper power and speed with a bit more gear 👍. The servo is fast with plenty of torque. Love the bigger Backflips and body 😍😍. Anyone grabbing an XMaxx over this for the same price doesn't understand value or is brand brain washed. Shelby's butt dart was nasty 😱😂. The tower separated from the bulkhead among other breakages. Truly appreciate it Brother!!! 🍻😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 Oh northern ca.. I am just north of LA myself... I have a cool little spot but it's not that huge like your spot. You can really let those trucks rip there. Good stuff!!
Wow Brother Rich 👊😁, i love this rc, i have the kraton 8s, even the first version that came out, but i'm sure the outcast 8s is really fun too, being shorter, and by the way, the new graphics are also really nice and eye-catching😍. Anyway what can I say, as usual a spectacular video and fantastic jumps, good work my friend, and good bash 👊😁
Thanks so very much Brother David 😍. The graphics and new electronics and tires are awesome!!! So grateful to get out with good friends and have Fun 😱🚀🚀🥰🥰
AWESOME Review and Video Rich 😘💕 Still too big/heavy for me but for sure a Winner in comparison to the X-Rig. You are right, alone the turnings circle is a class of it's own. Outcast all day long 👍👍👍
Thanks so very much dear Kimberly 😍. ARRMA truly nailed it with this new Beast 👌. There's no comparison with plastic fantastic for performance and value out of the box. Loving this O8s EXB RTR!!! 😘😘😎💪👊👊
Thanks Brother 😁. Yes indeed, this is bone stock out of the box besides gearing swap from 23/47 to 25/39. Didn't do any tuning. I did disarm the AVC completely though and ramp up the punch. AVC is restrictive in my opinion. Best suited for speed runs and street bashers. 🍻
Hi Rich, superb Outcast 8S V2 style, extraordinary mastery of Bash🏆, Big jumps💪 and big backflip💪 I love it 🤩 Traxxas must optimize all the critical points of the Xmaxx to come back even stronger even if I love this Monster truck 💪, Arma has just hit hard💥 It was a great Bash session my brother, peace 🤘
Thanks so much Nel 😱. Competition is definitely a good thing. ARRMA has raised the bar once again with this awesome RTR 😍. Truly appreciate it Brother!!! 😎💪👊👊
Plain simple killer truck Rich..Outcast are my ❤ car from ARRMA, spec the 6s version❤❤❤, had the EXB 8s but was not the car for me. How eva, it looks so good in ya hands my dear friend ❤❤❤
Thanks so very much dear Brother 😍. Love them all, but the O8s is my favorite large scale for raw crazy fun 🚀🚀. ARRMA did fantastic with this latest design. Finally have proper power and steering for her size 👀. I'm super impressed with the performance and low temps. 🍻👍👍😎💪👊👊
Awesome run down Rich! Glad you are liking it out of the box. I found my EXB to be really fun with a firma 160 and a 5687 1100kv combo. Definitely works well in the shorter wheelbase. Just wish Arrma would have stepped it up a notch more for the big girl Kraton. Can’t have everything though!
Thanks so much Brother Aaron 🤗. Yeah I knew from running the HW 5687 in Big Red that this truck would move great 👊. Very impressed with her box stock. Personally I think the Spectrum 780kv long can would be better in the K8s, but that would require super tall gearing and probably cost more. 😎💪👊👊
That's a good looking new ride Rich! I'm kinda torn on the outcome of this. I was a huge fan of the rollers. I wish they would have kept the roller available for us hobby guys.
Thanks Josh 🤗. Yeah I agree about the rollers, but a fast and durable RTR makes more sense for the broader market I'm guessing. Loving wrenching myself, it'd be nice if both options were still available. 🍻
Awesome review. I have an XMaxx and a Kraton 8s and and they are very different trucks for sure. The XMaxx is no saint and as it's own issues that you rarely hear about. I'm thinking of replacing my K8s and was debating whether or not to keep the Xmaxx or get an Outcast. This latest version of the Outcast might be my only 8s rig next year. My only other request from Arrma would be to add some chassis stiffeners to the chassis plate to just make sure it doesn't bend. But that's just me. Keep up the great work with the reviews. Love it.
Thanks so very much Mike 🤗. Yeah it's crazy how the XMaxx developed an exaggerated reputation. Definitely has it's weak points and problems 😂. Traxxas fan boys don't want to hear it, but the truth should be known. I genuinely prefer an open chassis bay with sensible bracing and easy access gears and electronics. I'd get the Outcast hands down if I had to pick 😍. Chassis stiffeners do help no question 🍻
This is an awesome platform, I bought the older model roller before these RTR's came out i wish i waited but i might put the same esc, motor and servo in mine next year. I'm hoping my truck will be great after i get it up and running and i hope it will be more reliable then my X-Maxx i got mine used it also needed 105 usd worth of repairs after 3 runs.
Great question. There's really no way to prevent that unless you change your ESC or connectors to a spark free set-up. They sell high capacity QS8 connectors. 🍻
I've noticed they ditched the sways from the factory. Maybe the spring rates are higher to compensate? Did you notice any difference vs the V1? Also, are the new bigger backflips the same part # as the old ones or is it new?
I'm not sure about the spring rates vs the V1 🤔. Will say the sway bars are completely unnecessary. I yanked mine from my K8s EXB awhile back. They would break loose and dig into the arms or jamb up rocks. The new bigger Backflips have a different part # I think. 🍻
loving the new rtr exb outcast. Arrma nailed it! I was impressed with the stock electronic temps. I need to get my hands on those v2 tires : ). I would love to have a second outcast 8s but not in the budget right now. Shelbys ass landing was brutal. I haven't reviewed my clips yet but yours was enough to know it will cost me in repairs lol.
I'm loving the changes too John 😁. ARRMA took the bull by the horns and dropped the hammer on plastic fantastic 😂. The temps were crazy efficient for hauling ass out there 👀. These bigger Backflips felt absolutely perfect!!! Shelby's butt dart was brutal 😱. The rear end folded up something nasty. She might do better with a 3DRC gen 2 wing mount. They're cheap and have the perfect amount of give. It's completely saved my O6s EXB while Andrew was learning double Backflips and is still going strong 💪. Looking forward to our next session Brother!!! 🚀🚀😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 I think the outcast is my fav arrma 1/5 rig. It is my least fav 6s scale but in 8s the short wheelbase actually makes this big truck pretty fun it seems. Thoughts?
I couldn’t agree with you more buddy, I’ve owned both an outcast exb 8s and a traxxas x maxx and by far I’ve had way more fun with my outcast. There’s definitely no comparison when it comes to best value out the box and durability for sure!
Thanks so much my friend 🤗. Having fun is the most important part. Truly appreciate your comment 👍. It's great to hear other people's opinions and feedback. 🍻
Great 8s bash!! 💪You might want to name that new rig, "Michael Jordan", because you got some serious "Air Time"!! 😁 You've got a new subscriber here, awesome content! 💯
Awesome video!!! Outcast very amazing truck, however what you prefer outcast or kraton? Outcast chassis are short than kraton. seem no need upgrades M2C chassis on outcast. Kraton may need upgrade because they chassis look same on kraton EXB.
The benefit is sharper turning radius, easier flips, wheelies, and overall stunting with the shorter wheelbase. The Kraton is better for getting the power down, drifting, and overall stability at high speed and over rough terrain. 🍻
Looks too awesome 🤩 🙌 Ive said to myself im stopping at the 4s V2 which is beyond awesome, but i know ive gotta have one of these and most likely will get one at some point! Lol! These trucks are at an amazimg design evolution point! Does look like the 4s v2 might have a little more top end without changing any gearimg though? Thanks for the awesome videos dude 👍
I like having the motor weight more centrally located in the chassis bay (better balance and less strain on the motor mount) and feel like the 39 spur works better overall. Still running 34/34 gearing with my K8s and 56112 840 Hobbystar. You really notice the balance difference with the bigger motors.
@@richduperbash2966 Makes sense to me! I don't send mine super hard (yet) so I'll throw the 30 on and order some other options to have on hand. Thanks brother. 🤙
X-maxx fanboy here and that looks pretty sweet just wish wish wish they do what traxxas did but opposite. Xmaxx then made the xrt. Turn that outcast into a bigcast lol. Monster truck. O that be so sick. I dont care about being low and having more control or whatever. I want a truck no, a Monster truck. Snow mud and anything big. Imagine how crazy it look to. Great video ❤
Thanks so much Brother 🤗. I love my upgraded XMaxx and XRT 😍. The wide sleek stance and lighter weight of the XRT is a blast for hauling ass 🚀🚀. The XMaxx while a bit clumsy is Mad fun no question 🍻
What an amazing truck this is!😍 Is there any pros from running 25/39 gearing against the stock 47t spur with the optional 30t speed pinion? Both of these ratios are equal. Am I mistaken the fact that this truck has a 47t spur out the box? I got one on order, I cant wait to rip it😎 Have a good one brother!
Congratulations Brother!!! You're gonna love this Beast 🤩. The motor weight is more central using 25/39. The truck does come with a 47 out of the box. Personally, the transmission feels smoother in these 8s rigs with the 39T from my experience. Gives you more gearing options too. 🍻
@@richduperbash2966 thanks for the quick reply! I have one last question, what's the diameter of these carbon fiber tubes that you have on those chassis brace bars?
I honestly think the best basher and best overall value is the Outcast 8s EXB RTR. The Losi is awesome too, but it's better suited for ripping around off road with moderate jumps. Not really built for big sends without lots of upgrades anyways. I have lots of friends with both rigs. The XMaxx is hugely overrated and has been for years. I enjoy mine, but that's after extensive upgrading and understanding her limitations. I've never been as frustrated chasing my tail with breakages and gear failures as I have with my XMaxx 😂
Excellent review Rich ....that 7075 chassis will bend and then its downhill from there thats when we all need m2c upgrades thats when it becomes ridiculous over spending ....out of the box its a medium basher on soft to medium terrain ......they dont last bashing hard in a skatepark or concrete areas .....i personally dont like traxxas or arrma they make overpriced rc trucks with cheap materials ....arrma claims there stuff is70-75 which we know is not ...bashing on this terrain and landing in the softer areas is very sensible of you but anything harder and that will break alot more ....thanks rich for the review one of the best bashers on UA-cam and very informative
Thanks so much Tony 🤗. M2C is an eventuality if you like doing huge airs or are unwilling to straighten the stock chassis. Their 7075 is not the same T6 M2C uses. That said, no 25-30+ lb RC is built for brutal flat skatepark hits from height on steel coping or concrete. They'll take transition landings if done right. My bash spots are generally bone dry hard pack with either gravel or river rock piles. There's no pillow landings. Most of the ground is uneven. Guys need to decide what is realistic vs ideal in terms of durability with a fast, heavier large scale. Overall I'm very impressed with the O8s EXB RTR so far. 🍻
I run 39/39 gearing and my temps are -25F and always temp it after it has been cooled down by my car. How many more years are going to be B'sing and pushing arrma products?
I'm assuming you're running 39/39 with an 800-850kv motor 🤔. I can't say I understand -25F, B'sing and "pushing" ARRMA products. I bash what I like and have fun. My Traxxas stuff is inferior, but I agreed to test M2C prototype upgrades 😂
Love watching you "work"! Got a weight on that truck without packs in it? Also a weight on one of the tires/wheels? I'm running a similar setup in my xmaxx currently (max6/cap pack/spektrum 5687-1100kv) and wouldn't mind a sturdier set of tires for it with a bit more grip in the grass.
Yesterday i stood in the aisle of my local hobby shop for nearly an hour staring at BOTH the Outcast 8S V2 and the Kraton 8S V2, i they convinced me not to go with the Outcast lol, so i purchased the Kraton. Why did i choose the Kraton? the box was way bigger, the Krayton 8S V2 is a true 1/5 scale. The Outcast is still amazing though, this channel is the reason why i considered buying either of these trucks.
I've also spent long periods standing at my LHS staring at different rigs 👍. That's pretty normal and smart before making a big purchase. Be very careful who may sway your decision though. The shop guys have their own opinions like everyone else. Very few are passionate about bashing from my experience anyways. Both the Outcast and Kraton 8s are awesome in my opinion 😍
Update: I got rid of the Kraton 8S V2 after the rear drive shaft bent (no jumps) after the second run, got the Outcast 8s V2 coming in the mail tomorrow. I knew I should've picked the Outcast lol.
Another great vid! Thanks for giving us the quick version of the changes, much appreciated! Arrma has hit a grand slam by keeping the price under $1k IMO. I do have to ask, why is Arrma giving us a wheel ranch?! I understand more is always better, but a wheel wrench seems more appropriate than a ranch?😉😂😛
Thanks very much Brother 👊. ARRMA definitely hit it out of the park this go 😱. I noticed the red alloy wrench and AA's right away and couldn't believe it 👀. Really nice touch for a wonderful package 😍
Damn I gotta get one 😍😍😍 Speaking of your 6s exb.. would love to see some more action of it 😊 I snagged a set of these new 8s tires on Jenny’s for my x MAXX and they do seem to be more durable than the og backflips 👌🏻🤙🏻
Thanks Steven 🤗. The new Backflips are friggin awesome!!! Thanks Jenny's RC for the price breaks 🤙. The 6s EXB is still mostly stock and ripping hard. It's become Andrew's favorite alternate basher 😍
I truly love them both Mason, but the Outcast is more fun overall and better suited for the 5687 1100 in my opinion 🤗. It's less likely to heat up in the shorter wheelbase. 🍻
I got the Kraton EXB and, almost a month later still waiting for Horizon Hobby to respond do to the fact the the new Kraton EXB came broken out the box.......
Wow rich that thing is awesome. Yeah I'm running 29/39 on my outcast exb with the Max 5 G2 esc and 5687 1100KV motor no fan runs just over 200 degrees now I'm running 27/39 with a 40mm fan not bad now it's 160F on the motor ok or its alitttle to hot ? I'm thinking bout getting the Kraton V2 exb
160F is right around my comfort zone. I'm fine with that, but 170F or beyond is too hot for long term use. I aim for 150F usually to get max efficiency out of the motor. Appreciate you sharing Paul 🤗
@richduperbash2966 awesome rich thanks brother. Yeah of course anytime. Glad I finally help you out 👊 I'm a 1100KV master now 😁 thats the best motor for the arrma 1/5 I believe.
She has plenty of punch for stock! And if she handles as good as you say maybe it's passed the kraton in the 8s line up! Still think the 6s kraton goes down as the best rtr basher! It will be on many a shelf in 20 years time as a queen! I have a losi 8eight te 3.0 she's mighty! I've had every arrma you can name and the 6s kraton and this new 8s outy looks amazing! For rtr arrma is the best! Never had a traxxas never will! Arrma baby!!
Awesome vids ,new subscriber, just got same Rtr outcast myself ,so your hearing or spur is stock and your pinion is 25 unsaid correct for higher speeds?sis you try the 30t pinion they come with for speed? I’m Newb a bit lol ,isn’t Stock pinion a 27?or 23? I can’t recall haha ,but was about to order 25t after watching ur vids seems To Perform Great ,I have not driven or assembled mine yet as it’s winter n crappy out .
Thanks so much my friend 🤗. The truck comes with a 23 pinion and 47T spur. I put on the optional 39T ARRMA 8s spur and paired it with a 25T pinion. Remember the teeth are mod 1 and the pinion bore has to be 8mm. Saga Custom and Robinson Racing are my favorite hardened steel gears. 🍻
Whats too hot for a motor and ESC? 150+ F? I don't get the carbon fiber rod? Is that so that aluminum bar won't bend? You have had it bend? That seems crazy.
Above 170F is generally bad for the motor. 150F or below is still fine 👍. I have bent the longer braces during huge airs or massive frontal impacts in the past. The CF supports the center bend point and is like an insurance policy without adding hardly any weight. 🍻
I'll have to catch up on other vids. Haven't watched any reviews...etc. Got the truck, geared up, and just ran it 🤙. The Mojave and Fireteam are both awesome Brother 😍
While im hearing you've had great experience with the entire 8s range, for me, it went the opposite way. My k8s exb v1 just didnt held up on my driving. Chassis bent and the rod end broke after looking at it. Anyway i designed and made my own (real) 7075 chassis (not like the fake arrma 7075) and im thinking to legitimately start making chassis with my own brand...
That's awesome you made your own chassis 🤙. The EXB and stock RTR chassis's can definitely bend if you bash hard enough. That's why I mentioned M2C Racing for comparison. They'll typically only bend if you have a catastrophic impact (slam a parked car wide open...etc). For the weight and size, these rigs can handle pretty rough use. Everyone has their own experience though. I'm just grateful for aftermarket options as needed. 🍻
@@richduperbash2966 yeah im still surprised by the gears and drivetrain, landed once on full power (max 5 and 800kv leopard motor) and it took it easy. I forgot to mention im also making my own bracing! It looks very similar to the losi 5ive t design, it also starts at the bulkhead but then it goes around the shaft, onto the chassis and at the end it can be mounted onto the gearbox (original brace mounting spot). Im will also fit a custom center brace, but i have to finish designing the other things first. Anyway while my k8s remains unbashable, im will just enjoy your vids🍿🍿 your bashing skills are allways on another level and very inspirational... keep on!!💪🍻🍻
I found a 1/8 Redcat TerrorMoto V2 With dual servos and a Onyx 24S dual charger 2S - 8S capable and several different adapters for 100 bucks, I've been wanting a dual charger for years for my planes so I basically got the truck free, hehe Its no hardcore basher by no means but its very fun to rip around my local park etc, it rips pretty dang good on 3S, sadly I don't have any 4S atm, 😭 lol Whats the best bang for your buck buying 4S batteries 🤔 If you have a link that would be awesome?
You mean to tell me you can extreme bash (not just speed run) the stock electronics with taller gearing and it's still not even close to overheating?! Is this an industry first for a RTR? 😅
It's a beautiful thing to see, but I'm not completely shocked. The Spectrum electronics are super efficient from my experience anyways 🤗. My V1 Firma 160A does killer in my Infraction with TP motor and formerly in my K8s and XMaxx 👀. It's been a serious workhorse. 🍻
It's a big first RC car, but definitely not a bad one. The smaller cars are trickier to control due to speed and agility. It's because of this that I love driving the different scales 😍
There is plenty of uploads with the truck geared completely stock. It just moves slower 😂. They gear it conservatively for people new to the hobby I guess.
Honestly you still got a sick rig. You’ll need an m2c chassis with time regardless and that’s one of the only main differences aside from some other pieces you can upgrade over time to EXB spec 🎉
@@666cemetaryslutis a typical traxxas fan boy lol
@@centralmainah1241 got a bunch of rc and only one traxxas so no
@@666cemetaryslut
Exactly, it's what every Plastraxxas fanboy says.
I didn't think the original EXB came with any electronics not even a servo 🤔
@@EJ-74 no they didn't. I'm just referring to the 8s line-up as a whole. All tho the exb did have a v1 rtr with the smaller motor, esc and servo and I'd thought being the exb first rtr it would have got the bigger systems. Least i think that's how it's gone. I'm not as on tip of the arrma game as I've bin in the past. So don't hold me to that, lol Either way arrma came throw and now the rtr is a truly ARRMA 💪💪💪
The OP was referring to the first 8s arrma line up, which was the RTR BLX release.
@@vinizuh yes that's what I was referring to.
This thing is built like a bank vault! I’ve taken some nasty hits with mine and still going strong after a year!
That's so awesome to hear Brian 👊. Absolutely love the 08s EXB RTR 🍻
Another great bash Rich. I already own an outcast 8s and want another one after watching this video. Those stock electronics seem very impressive. Hats off to Arrma / HH for the king of the 5th scales!
Thanks so very much Brother 🤗. Hopefully see you at the lake soon 🍻😎💪👊👊
Thanks for the Duperbash prospective on the new beast . Killer show as always.
Thanks so very much Lucas 🤗
Can’t name another box-stock 1/5 pulling TRIPLE BACKFLIPS!!!!
Well done as always Big Rich 🥃🤙🏽!
Thanks so much Brother 😁. She's a super capable RTR no doubt 🚀🚀
When it comes to bashing you hold the 👑 love you enthusiasm for the community need to start a bash competition
Thanks so much Dhon 🤗. Truly appreciate the kind words Brother 🍻😎💪👊👊
hey brotha as always put your rigs to his limits with real bashing! that outcast is a beast out of the box
Thanks Brother 😁. I'm super impressed with this Beast. Think ARRMA finally nailed it with this RTR. 🍻
I like the red accents they put on the body! Great maiden bash Rich! We'll have to wait and see how long she holds up to your killer sends!😂😂👍🤙💯
Thanks so much Chad 😁. The styling is absolutely gorgeous 😍
That was a great run to show how tough they are right out of the box💪🏻🚀
Thank you Brother 🤗. She took some hard hits no question. I'm very impressed with this big Beast 😍
Love it Rich!!! The O8s is a must have!!!
Thanks Brother 😁. Must have indeed 😍
Great job on video Rich. The new O8S setup looks absolutely mint. Crazy sends bro, I love this bash spot, looks too fun! Keep it goin' RIch!
Great video bro appreciate you going over the truck in detail. Run was awesome it seems to fly great.
Thanks Michael 🤗. I'm super impressed with this rig. Even the wheel wrench and AA batteries got me fired up 😂. She fly's awesome Brother 🍻
@@richduperbash2966 she is definitely the real deal, can't wait to get mine, she's on the way.
Hey Rich what did you do to make outcast8s turning radius better?
Tuning the diffs definitely helps. Make sure to crank up the BEC in the ESC settings if it's not already done and max up the dual steering rate.
@@richduperbash2966 10/4 thanks!
Always good info and AWESOME BASHING!!!💪🏼
Thanks so much Angel 🤗. Happy bashing Brother!!! 🍻
@richduperbash2966 Thanks for posting this Rich. Seems it's taboo to talk bad of the mighty XMaxx so glad to hear your conclusions and honesty.
@@TheflyingkiwiRCyou bet Brother 👊. Taboo or not, I'm calling it like I see it. 🍻
Wicked maiden run bro! Nice sends and what a beauty of a rig!

Thanks so much Brother 🤗. Truly appreciate it!!! 🍻

Awesome rig for sure Adam 👍. That spot is in Lincoln, CA. Hopefully it will stick around a little longer. There's development very nearby.

Hey Rich, that was awesome!!! As usual. Looks like Arrma really stepped up its game. Was that all stock except from the gearing?
Thanks Brother 😁. Yes indeed, this is bone stock out of the box besides gearing swap from 23/47 to 25/39. Didn't do any tuning. I did disarm the AVC completely though and ramp up the punch. AVC is restrictive in my opinion. Best suited for speed runs and street bashers. 🍻

Hey rich, would be awesome to know where you go to bash!
Yeah the EXB RTR was a great idea and I'm stoked about the 56 series motor and 1/5 servo 😱. Great handling platform with a ton of potential 🚀🚀
What is a good way to prevent sparks when connecting your batteries besides using xt90?

For out of box very impressive. I love the upgraded motor esc and tires. The Xmaxx may have competition. As always great bashing.
Thank you Brother 😁. Couldn't agree more. The XMaxx just got a little more dated. Competition is a good thing for us consumers. 🍻
What pinion you running on this rig in this video? Size?
25T pinion and 39T ARRMA spur. Think I bought the pinion from Saga Custom RC online. Mod 1 with 8mm bore.

Thanks so much John 🤗. Glad I'm old enough to remember watching MJ light it up in his prime 😱🚀🚀. He literally hung in the air 🍻
Awesome video!!! Outcast very amazing truck, however what you prefer outcast or kraton? Outcast chassis are short than kraton. seem no need upgrades M2C chassis on outcast. Kraton may need upgrade because they chassis look same on kraton EXB.
Thanks so much Brother 🤗. I love my K8s Big Girl, but the Outcast is more all around crazy fun 😍. The chassis is less likely to bend being shorter. 🍻
What's the benefit of the shorter WB Outcast vs the longer WB Kraton in the 8S EXB of the new Arrmas?
The benefit is sharper turning radius, easier flips, wheelies, and overall stunting with the shorter wheelbase. The Kraton is better for getting the power down, drifting, and overall stability at high speed and over rough terrain. 🍻
This is awesome. You sure know how to drive too. I just bought a Granite and keep trashing its rear end when I land
Thanks Brother 🙂. I run a Tbone Racing rear Granite bumper and it works awesome. Might still find one on eBay.
Thanks so much Jim 🤗. Love the bigger V2 O4s 🚀🚀. All the Outcasts are awesome in my opinion 🍻
Love it! No rock bath this time. 😂
LMAO 😂
Curious why you went with 25/39 vs just throwing the included 30 pinion in with the stock 47 spur? Comes out to the same ratio it seems.
What an amazing truck this is!😍
Is there any pros from running 25/39 gearing against the stock 47t spur with the optional 30t speed pinion?
The tubes are 12x14mm off Amazon 👍
Really want an Outcast now
Arrma 8s outcast exb, Xmaxx or Dbxl-e?? What’s the best choice of those 3?
I honestly think the best basher and best overall value is the Outcast 8s EXB RTR. The Losi is awesome too, but it's better suited for ripping around off road with moderate jumps. Not really built for big sends without lots of upgrades anyways. I have lots of friends with both rigs. The XMaxx is hugely overrated and has been for years. I enjoy mine, but that's after extensive upgrading and understanding her limitations. I've never been as frustrated chasing my tail with breakages and gear failures as I have with my XMaxx 😂
It’s sweet out of the box
I think ARRMA nailed it 😱
Excellent review Rich ....that 7075 chassis will bend and then its downhill from there thats when we all need m2c upgrades thats when it becomes ridiculous over spending ....out of the box its a medium basher on soft to medium terrain ......they dont last bashing hard in a skatepark or concrete areas .....i personally dont like traxxas or arrma they make overpriced rc trucks with cheap materials ....arrma claims there stuff is70-75 which we know is not ...bashing on this terrain and landing in the softer areas is very sensible of you but anything harder and that will break alot more ....thanks rich for the review one of the best bashers on UA-cam and very informative
Do you reinforce the motor with a support in-between the chassis and motor?
Not with my 8s ARRMA's. I definitely recommend an end bell support on the XMaxx and XRT though. 🍻
Thanks Brother 😁. The truck is about 24.7lbs and wheels are 680g. I'm digging these beefier Backflips 👍
Skatepark bash coming soon???
Damn I gotta get one 😍😍😍
Speaking of your 6s exb.. would love to see some more action of it 😊
I snagged a set of these new 8s tires on Jenny’s for my x MAXX and they do seem to be more durable than the og backflips 👌🏻🤙🏻
Thanks Steven 🤗. The new Backflips are friggin awesome!!! Thanks Jenny's RC for the price breaks 🤙. The 6s EXB is still mostly stock and ripping hard. It's become Andrew's favorite alternate basher 😍
Which one do you like more rich? The outcast 8s or the kraton 8s? Moving up to the big dog trucks and im torn between which one to get!
I truly love them both Mason, but the Outcast is more fun overall and better suited for the 5687 1100 in my opinion 🤗. It's less likely to heat up in the shorter wheelbase. 🍻
Appreciate your response bro! I ordered the outcast 8s! Keep the rad videos coming .
@@masonkielbiowski5876 you bet Brother 👊
I got the Kraton EXB and, almost a month later still waiting for Horizon Hobby to respond do to the fact the the new Kraton EXB came broken out the box.......
That's highly unusual to arrive broken my friend 🤔. Try calling the Horizon support line. Speak with a live person and they'll take care of the issue.
What would? You rather? Exb or blx
EXB 100%. It's got better components.
It looks like a missile with 25/39! Approximately what speed are we talking about?
60+ mph is my guess with belted wheels or a steady hand 😂
Maximum air! 🎉🎉🎉
What gearing does the outcast come with out the box?
@@tdgshadow9023/47 gearing. I swapped the 47 spur for ARRMA's optional 39 spur.
Amazing bro
Thanks Brother 🤗
She has plenty of punch for stock! And if she handles as good as you say maybe it's passed the kraton in the 8s line up! Still think the 6s kraton goes down as the best rtr basher! It will be on many a shelf in 20 years time as a queen! I have a losi 8eight te 3.0 she's mighty! I've had every arrma you can name and the 6s kraton and this new 8s outy looks amazing! For rtr arrma is the best! Never had a traxxas never will! Arrma baby!!
NIIIIICE 👌🏻
Over a grand 😳 it better be NIIIIICE 👌🏻 And bullet prof 😂🤣
These large scales aren't cheap. Just part of the deal if you want to go Big 🚀🚀
Awesome vids ,new subscriber, just got same
Rtr outcast myself ,so your hearing or spur is stock and your pinion is 25 unsaid correct for higher speeds?sis you try the 30t pinion they come with for speed? I’m
Newb a bit lol ,isn’t
Stock pinion a 27?or 23? I can’t recall haha ,but was about to order 25t after watching ur vids seems
To
Perform
Great ,I have not driven or assembled mine yet as it’s winter n crappy out .
Awesome n weird mine only came with a 30t pinion no 39t spur?or u bought a spur and pinion haha ,thanx for reply can’t wait to get this going
@@1978coop yeah I had a spare 39T spur in my gear collection. It's a bummer they didn't include it in the box for the EXB RTR's.
Ahh gotcha haha well guess I’ll order em up ,did u try the stock 47 n 30 at all?? To compare difference between 39,25 ,more or less speed
@@1978coop I tried it years ago with a Hobbywing 5687 1100kv and speeds were comparable.
That cute doggie how many KV's is?
:P
That thing is insane I keep watching all the videos on it & it makes my Mojave & Fireteam seem slow😬
I'll have to catch up on other vids. Haven't watched any reviews...etc. Got the truck, geared up, and just ran it 🤙. The Mojave and Fireteam are both awesome Brother 😍
I want 1!
Anyway while my k8s remains unbashable, im will just enjoy your vids🍿🍿 your bashing skills are allways on another level and very inspirational... keep on!!💪🍻🍻
That looks like fun. But i wish they still made a roller.
Agreed. Options are always nice 👍
I would grab a Zeee or Ovonic on sale if possible. I've had solid luck with both brands. 🍻
@@richduperbash2966 Ok cool, thanks 👍🏻✌🏻
You mean to tell me you can extreme bash (not just speed run) the stock electronics with taller gearing and it's still not even close to overheating?! Is this an industry first for a RTR? 😅
It's a beautiful thing to see, but I'm not completely shocked. The Spectrum electronics are super efficient from my experience anyways 🤗. My V1 Firma 160A does killer in my Infraction with TP motor and formerly in my K8s and XMaxx 👀. It's been a serious workhorse. 🍻
Yo get the vitavon 25 25 gearing it’s perfect for my 800kv kraton goes about 70 kills my jatos
I'm still running 34/34 with 840kv 56112 Hobbystar in my K8s EXB and it hauls ass 👍
🔥🔥🔥🦍
is this a bad first RC car bc god i want one?
It's a big first RC car, but definitely not a bad one. The smaller cars are trickier to control due to speed and agility. It's because of this that I love driving the different scales 😍
All I wanted to see is the truck running on stock soon as the optional this and the other comes in I leave
There is plenty of uploads with the truck geared completely stock. It just moves slower 😂. They gear it conservatively for people new to the hobby I guess.
Can you say launching it
This makes me wish I held off from buying the V1 8S RTR.
Honestly you still got a sick rig. You’ll need an m2c chassis with time regardless and that’s one of the only main differences aside from some other pieces you can upgrade over time to EXB spec 🎉
@@StevenYDG69for sure Steven. Upgrading, wrenching, and customizing is one of the true joys with our hobby 😍
