I love how hard it is for Luke to say what he wants. He is always holding himself back, hiding his wishes and try to help everybody else. Like he thinks he does not deserve happiness.
I love how Luke tells Noah "Yes I want you to be my boyfriend' and then we cut to the next scene with Lily telling Holden 'I really don't think now is the time to be making life altering decisions". Subtly soap opera irony, gotta love it
this was a huge moment for noah in terms of his self-acceptance. he's had to come to terms with a serious rollercoaster of emotions up to this point and the way he just puts it all out refuses to walk away from luke when both of their lives were just turned upside down is so incredibly brave. in this house we stan noah mayer for life.
Van is trying for an emmy with that last scene. My God, that was so touching, I nearly cried. Then line "I don't know if I can." was given so perfectly and his promise to Noah with tears welling up in his eyes - such emotion, I am impressed.
also, for those of you bashing noah in the comments. noah was reeling from an unimaginable experience after his accident, just like luke was here. and luke pushed noah away just as much as noah did luke. people forget that noah had to fight to get luke to accept him as a permanent fixture in his life during the storyline. and yet no one ever blames luke for being angry or resentful or ashamed that he needed someone else's help. not only that, but there was also an entirely different dynamic during noah storyline, not just because luke was choosing to insinuate damian back into his life which was causing problems in their relationship before noah's accident. there's also the fact without the use of his legs, they could still be a writer and he still had his dreams to look forward to. noah was a filmmaker who lost his eyesight. he thought a huge part of his life had been destroyed. of course he was going to lash out. ten years later, and i still will not tolerate any slander against noah mayer. if you're not disabled, you can't fully grasp what this meant for either character and understand that people process the emotions relating to it very differently.
Absolutely. Noah had to re-learn how to live. How to function on a basic level. That's a hard road to go down. Luke should have been patient with him...but, he kept pushing. Plus you have Reid playing both of them to get what HE wanted...but never got. Noah bashing is so ridiculous....there were people wanting Luke and Brian together for crying out loud. Once the scene hog Reid showed up, the anybody but Noah crowd went into overdrive and were relentless in their bashing of one of the best characters on the show in favor of a deceitful, immature 39 yr old Dr who was weaseling his way between 2 people who needed each other. Trying to keep Luke away from Noah was but one cruelty. But, karma won. L&N were endgame!
I agree 100%. Noah push Luke away because he loved him so much. He sacrificed his own happiness in hopes Luke would move on and have a happy life. This way he would not have take care of a blind man for the rest of his life. Because at that time there was no guarantee Noah would see again. That's what you call true love sacrificing your own happiness😢❤❤❤
I love the contrast, one relationship beginning as one ends. Both filled with so many emotions and history. Greatly done. PS: Just LOVE Nuke, They do have a wonderful story,
Van Hansis is so good at what he does. God, when Noah asked him the first time, Luke exhaled so perfectly. I could feel how scared he was and how much he loved Noah. I can't wait to see Van doing prime time stuff. I know he will one day.

I love these clips, and I love the comments. Noah and Luke are beyond sweet in this asking eachother if they want to be boyfriends. The giddy goodness of their interaction is so refreshing. Noah is the perfect motivation for Luke to get better and regain the feeling in his lower areas. We need physical therapy as soon as possible. Yay for the boy's love!

It is a really sad movie. The way aaron and christian connected in that movie was amazing. When Christian went after Aaron, I was cheering. Steve Sandvoss, who plays Aaron, is really gorgeous. He really looked like someone of the mormon faith. Once I saw this movie, I knew that I had to own it. great movie. Loved it. charliebear123

Heartbreaking scenes today. The writers did a brilliant job of contrasting them with Nuke's blossoming start. The thing I don't think many fans see, is that surely Holden has been reacting with anger and resentment, but his words were never clearer than today. He's tired and I as a fan see him clearly hurting, albeit quietly. Lily has not had to watch herself and Dusty over the years. As the truth spilled forth slowly, I think both actors conveyed the pain of a marriage in crisis perfectly.

And for those who say they leave their marriage because they felt unloved, you can find love in other things in life. Romance is not even love, people confuse it. Marriage is letting go of natural desires to love and care for someone spiritually, an if you cannot love someone spiritually, why have children at all?
In the end my OTP was LuRe, but my love for Nuke will always be there. Rewatching scenes like this, when things were so good for them (well, minus the paralysis...) still make me smile til it hurts!
