just for future reference if you need to remove the pitman arm on a truck like this they have a pitman are puller other than that great job man i put a 6" on my 96 150 with 33s if you go 35s you will need to change gears in both axles
I’ve got three of my bracket nuts just spinning. 🙄 1995 f250 7.3. Same lift kit. Gonna have to cut the bolts and figure something else out for those three that I have to cut.
A pitman arm puller is the way to go get on loan from autozone or take the box down to a shop and the steering box out of the truck and in a vice to do it is best plus huge caution using a torch to heat the arm up you can melt the seal on the worm shaft easily ruining the box and a bunch of pounding and prying is not recommended either great video
Did your front shocks that came with the lift, did they have loops on both ends of the shock like the rear ones or did the have a loop on one end and a shaft on the other?
I'll be buying this kit for my 97 f350 long bed 4x4 7.3 next week. did you need to get intended brake lines? and how long did it take you to do?.i already have 35's on it
That would be great I just need to be close. A measurement from a strait edge between the two spring mounting bolts and the top of the axle it would help a lot.
Looks like it turned out to be more like an 7 or 8 inch lift. Put a 4 inch lift (supposed to be) on my 91 F250, measured before and after and it turned out to be 5.5 inches of lift. Make sure that front brake line isn't stretched too far
Got the same truck and I'm thinking about getting that lift, but I am concerned the truck will feel gutless with 35s... when you put 35s on it, did you re-gear it or is it just fine?
I have basically finished my straight axle swap with a dana 60 (which is the axle that fits) and my old lift works perfect with it with the leaf springs
Nice Truck! I just recently got a 1997 f250 4x4 heavy duty truck. I am think of lifting the truck. All I have ever own has been Chevy trucks. I am excited. Thinking of a 6" lift kit. Your 4" seems to sit just about right. Now, what size tires are on your truck or have you put them on your truck already?
+UpNorthOutdoors hey I have a question can you email me I need help on putting the brackets for the ttb because it says to drill a hole but I'm kinda confused
I have a 93 f-250 xlt single cab same bed Same motor do you think it be almost identical to what you have to do and around how much you think it would cost?
Bob Emu Yes the lift kit is identical it is for f250's from '87-'98. The lift kit is $610 plus if you want a steering stabilizer it'll cost you some more.
+UpNorthOutdoors good to hear. i have a 92 7.3 idi with the twin traction beam. was an old cement/gravel hauler so all the axles were upgraded. im torn between a 4 or 6" lift.
I honestly think the 4" looks great and now that I made my new bumper I could easily fit 38" tires. But a 6" lift would be sick too!! The only reason I didn't do a 6" is that I would be getting pulled over alot here in mn for being to high
I'm in N Idaho. Just saw a newer power stroke lifted about 10" with 46's at the grocery store. Cops dont care here lol. I used to have a 92 f250 with a 351W crate motor lifted 6" with 35's. Rode like shit, and I bet it was a rough country lift, but it had a D60 up front and a sterling 55 full floater in the back. It was a beast but I could literally watch the fuel gauge sink at wot. I might look into a sas if I do decide to lift it big.
Does anyone know how to get a wrench or anything on the top slit of the middle axle brackets ? The little slot above the coolent line to hold the top 2 bolts on the axle bracket by the oil pan
nice build bro, she sat a lot higher than i thought with that 4", ill have to keep that in mind. ive been looking at rough country. i just dont have the proper tools for an install. anyways, i like the truck. i usually dont like fords but 90s are really nice
how did it turn out .. I got a 92 7.3 that I wanna put a 4" lift on but besides spring packs and a pitman arm what else did u need? traction bars? or other steering components all fit?
Hey I just lifted my 1990 f250 and I have some new 35s I'm going to put on and I'm just wondering if you had a camber problem with the front wheels when you lifted your truck? If so how long did it take for the front end to settle down?
+Rhett Green Yeah it cambered a bit. I would highly recommend getting a steering alignment because that helps with it alot. And yes my front end eventually settled down
UpNorthOutdoors Haha thanks for the reply! I wanna get the same lift for my '94 F150 but it looks pretty difficult, especially since I'm not very good with mechanics.
UpNorthOutdoors Sorry to bug you so much, but this is my last question :D Did the kit come with instructions? I'm assuming it did but would just like to be sure! Thank you so much for all your help
No front sway bar?
Looks sick man. Great build
Pompey-Wolf Thanks man!
can you please tell me what kit this is
It’s in the title haha. 4” rough country lift kit for 96 F-250
Yeah I put headers and dual exhaust on my 1983 chevy Scottsdale k20 with a 350 and turbo mufflers and it sounds good
Noice

pmorris35 I'm running 35's right now. The 4.10 gears handle them like a charm
Where is the sway bar in the front and back
I got the same truck and I got a sway bar in the front
I’ve got three of my bracket nuts just spinning. 🙄 1995 f250 7.3. Same lift kit. Gonna have to cut the bolts and figure something else out for those three that I have to cut.

Parker Leffew Hold on lemme go check!
and I would suggest stainless steel pipes because it sounds better and looks good hope you put a video up
on the headers and pipes
Yeah I will when I get the money haha
How the fuck did you get the bolts on the bottom of the cross member
I'll be buying this kit for my 97 f350 long bed 4x4 7.3 next week. did you need to get intended brake lines? and how long did it take you to do?.i already have 35's on it
Nope didn't need to extend anything. About 1/2-1 day
Did the 35’s rub without the lift kit?
What is the front spring arc with weight? I built my own pack and would like to check it.
+Chris Moser I can check in a little bit for ya. But they settled over time so it varies a little bit
That would be great I just need to be close. A measurement from a strait edge between the two spring mounting bolts and the top of the axle it would help a lot.

did you have control arms where there front leaf spring goes?
+tim esperanza nope
UpNorthOutdoors I'm having trouble Which lift kit to get from rough country since I have the control arm in the front axle not the leaf springs
tim esperanza Tbh I don't know. But if you message rough county on customer support they will usually get back to you within a day
UpNorthOutdoors They have they just give me the one with the leaf springs but that's why I wanna do the straight axle swap
I have basically finished my straight axle swap with a dana 60 (which is the axle that fits) and my old lift works perfect with it with the leaf springs

+Thor Hamm I put 35's on you can see on some of my other videos. But with my new bumper I could easily fit 38's
+UpNorthOutdoors you don't need control arms or sway bars???
+Ryan Yates nope
would this be the same on a 1994 ford f250 7.3
And also on a 4inch lift should I extend my brake lines on my ford bronco
I didn't have to extend anything but I don't know about a bronco...
+UpNorthOutdoors I found out you don't my friend put a 6 inch and that's why I'm do a 6 inch for the bronco but thanks anyway keep the videos coming
+UpNorthOutdoors hey I have a question can you email me I need help on putting the brackets for the ttb because it says to drill a hole but I'm kinda confused

+UpNorthOutdoors how is the ride is it rougher than before you put the loft on?
Yeah It's a little rougher but not bad
It doesn’t look like you have a solid front axle, were you able to adjust the camber so the front tires are straight up and down?
The camber fixes itself with the drop down brackets in the middle
What size tires did you end up running on the truck? Any rub? Turning issues?
35's. Rub a bit if I crank it
Nice! Lookin good
Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Great job on the lift kit.
Do you have to install the leaf springs with the lift or is that optional???
How rough is the ride with the new springs? Any better or worse than stock?
gotsomegetsome I'd say there isn't really a big difference
That's pretty badass man, I'm lookin to do this to my 2000 ford ranger soon
Hows your front end holding up with that lift? Twin I beams dont like to be lifted much lol
+Zac Price Holding up fine!
+UpNorthOutdoors good to hear. i have a 92 7.3 idi with the twin traction beam. was an old cement/gravel hauler so all the axles were upgraded. im torn between a 4 or 6" lift.

+Zac Price Nice! I can watch my fuel gauge sink too lol
did you need to extend any brake lines? or change anything else?
No
MustangMAN I had to purchase a brqhe line kit for mine, with the suspension flexing the stick ones were not long enough
how did you do your front sway bar? it doesn't look like you have one?
Does anyone know how to get a wrench or anything on the top slit of the middle axle brackets ? The little slot above the coolent line to hold the top 2 bolts on the axle bracket by the oil pan
I have the same problem!
Hey how many hours or days did it take you I want to do a 4in RC on my 1990 ford bronco
Stock ride is really rough , how does this lift improve or worsen the ride quality?
Steering stabilizer?
Yep I made a separate video on it
Did you replace your pitman arm? Or was it the same one ?
+Cody Prescott replaced it
I'm looking to get the same lift did you have to put front and back sway extenders on your truck
nice build bro, she sat a lot higher than i thought with that 4", ill have to keep that in mind. ive been looking at rough country. i just dont have the proper tools for an install. anyways, i like the truck. i usually dont like fords but 90s are really nice
Hey thanks man! The front springs do break in so it gets a tad bit lower, but yeah it was a lot higher than I expected to
Do you have the dual I beam front axel?
+Mitchell Strain yes he does. You can get a good look of it at 1:00
Did you keep your stock sway bar linkage
Where did you get the front extended brake lines?
Were the factory axle pivot brackets bolted in or riveted?
That must be a common problem with the steering cause my steering wheel is off by that same amount
Cutrently putting yhis lift on my 7.3 as we speak. Lot more crap in the way on this motor than that.
Jake Lindy Haha good luck!
how did it turn out .. I got a 92 7.3 that I wanna put a 4" lift on but besides spring packs and a pitman arm what else did u need? traction bars? or other steering components all fit?
the Shock Absorbers is upsidedown
Abel Castellanoss yeah I know I ended up switching em around lol
Looks pretty safe under there 🤣
Hey did you have to extend brake lines or driveshafts in anyway? I wanna do a 4" on my 95 f250
how long did it take for you to install it total?
A day
UpNorthOutdoors an entire day?
Billy Litz Well I did it in 2 evenings
if I were you I would put dual exhaust on it with race bullets or turbo mufflers
I'm planning on doing dual exhaust once I do headers
Nice build
what part of mn u from? im in mn too. i gotta 93 f150 xlt and a 64 chevy c30. lowered the c30 and bout to lift the f150! anyways, nice work man!
How long was the total install of this lift
what are thos boots
winter boots lol. it gets cold in Minnesota
And yes my front end eventually settled down
Sweet video brother! I've got an 83 f100 with an I6 300. Planning on doing a 4" lift on it as well. Sure wish I had one of those air jacks! 👍
Hey how did you get your axle brackets off?
Do you have to install the leaf springs with the lift or is that optional?
***** Yes, unless you want to have a 4inch lift in the back and nothing in the front lol
UpNorthOutdoors Haha thanks for the reply! I wanna get the same lift for my '94 F150 but it looks pretty difficult, especially since I'm not very good with mechanics.
Haha its not to bad if you follow the directions! Otherwise you can probably pay a local mechanic put it in for you
UpNorthOutdoors Sorry to bug you so much, but this is my last question :D Did the kit come with instructions? I'm assuming it did but would just like to be sure! Thank you so much for all your help
***** Yep it comes with instructions! If you have any more questions ask away I'd love to help!
