Michael doesn’t care about his own kids. His actions (& words) clearly say that. Him making his daughter take on his responsibilities as a parent cause he isn’t man enough to step up & take care of his own responsibilities is pathetic. He is someone who doesn’t deserve to have kids, but b/c he wanted sexual gratification those poor children have to suffer (mentally).
Meanwhile, my husband would be the best father (he's patient, kind, caring) and we found out that I can't have children. Life is a cruel game sometimes.

This is so wild because this happened to me and I didn't know there was a word for it. My little sister (2) and I went to live with my Dad when I was seven and I was responsible for her from that time until I left for college.

it's sad how happy his kids are about him being back, they seem like they would have made it much easier for him to become a good dad than he deserved. I think he is making a huge mistake in failing to understand that his kids don't blame him for getting locked up, but they will blame him for choosing to move very far away. he thinks that the pass they're giving him is just how things are, but really that is entirely contingent on them seeing his absence up to that point as something the state did to them, not something for which he is responsible (or only very indirectly). moving away is a much clearer sign that he doesn't care about his kids than committing crimes and getting locked up for it.
Tbh most absent fathers are purposely absent. I have no idea how society isn't freaking out at how many men abandon their children, but since we live in a world where men mostly benefit ig that makes sense.
Talking to your girlfriend's 13 year old daughter about your marital or premarital problems is a huge red flag and a precursor of worse things to come should he still be allowed to be in her life. Danger.
It's true, I don't want to go into details and trauma dump here but I can't stress how dangerous it is that this adult man is adultifying and leaning on a prepubescent girl and complaining about her mother to her. This can only escalate to something worse if he isn't removed and she needs to start watching those cameras way more closely, and add more that he doesn't know about.

To be fair, a lot of people have security cameras in case of a break in or something like that. If nothing has happened, most don't check it routinely.

I've never been a parent to a teenager, but I have been a teen with a parent that leaned too hard on them in multiple ways and all I can say is this: A parent's storm should never get their child wet, not even a drop of rain. My heart breaks for Mylie, she doesn't deserve this kind of toxicity. None of those kids do.

You know what Melody kind of reminds me of Fiona off of Shameless *ykyk* where she has to stop being a kid and be an adult to take care of her younger siblings because her parents can’t put their selfish desires to the side and take care of their responsibilities. Melody, once she truly sits back and look through her relationship with her dad and how her dad put so much time and effort to with another woman and her kids instead of being and bonding with her and his other kids, she is going to resent him. I didn’t like/want kids bc I grew up taking care of my siblings. It’s exhausting and unfair. If you can’t take care of your kids or you’re not motivated enough to make it happen. The way my husband and I "fight" is by sitting down and having a calm, respectful and mature conversation. We've never yelled at each other or flown off the handle.

Me and a friend are thinking he is moving to Vegas for the shoe company he is involved with. I’m like that makes more sense for Vegas for conventions and close proximity to LA. I feel for Melody. I lost my entire childhood to raising my siblings because my mom was a single parent and felt that the oldest had to be responsible for the other kids. And then she fell into an opioid addiction in my teen years. It affects a lot of my behaviors to this day and I'm almost 30. Some people seriously just don't need to have kids.

You know what Melody kind of reminds me of Fiona off of Shameless *ykyk* where she has to stop being a kid and be an adult to take care of her younger siblings because her parents can’t put their selfish desires to the side and take care of their responsibilities. I feel for Melody. I lost my entire childhood to raising my siblings because my mom was a single parent and felt that the oldest had to be responsible for the other kids. And then she fell into an opioid addiction in my teen years. It affects a lot of my behaviors to this day and I'm almost 30. Some people seriously just don't need to have kids.
