"yeah you don't need to be doing all this" is refreshing to hear haha. i've watched a handful of tutorials from people trying to flex their effort & software, presenting all their extra steps as being necessary. it's cool to hear such a different mindset from someone who's an actual hitmaker.
@@rayvolpe love it! as much as finer technicality matters, i think arrangement & ideas can go understated in tutorials, so i appreciate you filling that gap ^^
Love watching stuff like this. Completely out of my genre as far as producing, but these techniques, tricks, knowledge traverse beyond genres! One can NEVER have too much Knowledge!!!
i saw you during excisions nexus tour, night 1 Vancouver bc! ngl, for some reason i never heard your work before, but your intro at that show, and all your transitions, dropped me to my knees! ive been fan boying over your stuff since hahaha you guys all did amazing that night and every live set on youtube ive seen of you is incredible!! so cool to see such amazing artists in the edm community!
First song I heard of yours was Wanna See You Drop and I was like whoah this is really stand-out. Then you dropped Song Request and I was like ok this is some seriously good stuff . I have no idea how I'm only just discovering you now. Amazing tracks. Keep it up bro.
The first one I heard was Wet Napkin, but it was the remix that Chime and Ace Aura did of it, I still think it's one of the (if not THE) best melodic dubstep songs I've ever heard. Not long after it, I listened to Volpe's Believe in Me, and the song still slaps HARD. Still one of my favorites.
Ray, you are amazing and I love your music! I was so starstruck spotting you in person that I didn’t get to talk any music with you. Thank you for making my birthday special for real 🥳 I’ll be supporting you through your Patreon to learn more music production 🫶🏽
Thanks so much for these breakdowns! I could spend days just learning about DSP and all the different Ableton plugins. I've been doing sound mixing for a few years now so it's all starting to make sense, but I'm still constantly learning. Doesn't hurt that you make some of the best beats out there!
Thank you for making this masterpiece Ray!!! Literally the catchiest song for me in the last 5 years easily. Been a whole month of me going "BAA DA DA" randomly around the house and everywhere I go 😂😂
Hey Ray, thanks so much for this. Really bro 🙏. It literally A) Taught me how to make legit bass house B) Taught me a ton about what a pro's racks look like and consequently what nobs I really need to be concerned about for certain sounds / that if it sounds good, it sounds good, e.g. Don't necessarily sweat the finer details with saturation outside of the type and drive. C) Helped me make the breakthroughs I needed to get a warm reception from my snapchat friends. This is the first track I've made where the reception has been an overall positive!
I see the Temu/wish CDJ purchase in the background in the studio. Always wanted to buy it because I knew it'd be too good to be true and its exactly what I expected it to be hahaha.
Hey Ray - I’m an aspiring producer and love your videos, always super helpful to see into your workflow! Also been following your music back since the By Your Side and On The Run days. I finally got a chance to catch you live last month in Des Moines. I went so fkn hard to your set. Just wanted to show ya some love, come back to Iowa soon! ❤
Al principio no me gustaba mucho Ray Volpe porque no soy muy fan de canciones con muchos agudos, pero con song request, me ganaste y me hice seguidor y admiro tu trabajo
I love your music, I incorporated it into two shorts on my channel. The 2nd from first and the 4th from first (laser beam and pretty much) It’s synced with Fortnite gameplay, they really get going after the first few seconds. (You probably don’t play because you’re busy creating awesome music). Not trying to promote, just thought you would like to see how your music inspires, so if this comment gets deleted it’s all good!
Seeing so many layers, i wonder how much inspired were you at the making 😅. what texture were you looking for in order to add so much grit and noise hehe
XLNT Sound : how Ray Volpe create SONG REQUEST bass ??? But when Ray uploaded this video they be like shitt content missed 😔 Lets get back to the Skrillex Basses 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Biggest question I have here is how did you manage to make all these sounds fit together cohesively in the mix, I feel like with that many layers you have way too many things fighting for space
Hey Ray Volpe! I’m a newcomer in music macing, and my last song I made only out of GarageBand presets, can you pls reach out and say what you think? Song is called: Pai-Pai Rusty key, please reach out I’m a big fan of your music!)

thank you! i try to bring a more “relaxed” approach. everyone is starting somewhere! i like to lead with my ear & heart versus technical brain haha
@@rayvolpe love it! as much as finer technicality matters, i think arrangement & ideas can go understated in tutorials, so i appreciate you filling that gap ^^
i've been saying this for quite a while, you don't need to go crazy with the sound design to make a hit song!
@@MockingbirdEDM literally i believe in you. after so much time, i just realised one thing, arrangement matters whole lot
you mean to say that I've been pronouncing "VOLPE" wrong the entire time?!?!
yes it is pronounced volp-eeee!!!
Short for Volpetron
VOLPEEEETRON
@@rayvolpe this whole time i be thinking it's Volp-eh/Volp-ei 🤦
I like volp better 💀💀
Ok but can we all appreciate how cool this dude is?? Bro makes absolute masterpieces every single time, Song Request is absolutely 🔥
BAA DAAA DAAA 🔥🎶
BAA DAAA DAAA 🗣️🔥🎶
Prob one of the best breakdowns not to mention that X-Men 1 wolverine variant in the background
Ray you're the 🐐 man. Seen you live 3 times and every show progressively got better. So stoked for you! Been a fan since 2018!!
bro is the next and up incoming EDM dubstep techno star that no one knows about.
What? Shit tons of people know who he is. I'd say he's on the wave and climbing
I've never seen such an entertaining tutorial/breakdown
I recently discovered your music, and so far I've been absolutely loving it! It's hard to pick a favorite...

Wow nunca dejas de sorprender
It's a shame that 'cli-cli-cli-cli-click' isn't hearable in the final version 7:24
It's a really interesting addition
YOOO PATREON IS BACK! I remember asking if you'd bring it back during your meet and greet at Beyond Wonderland @ Gorge and you were like "Nah" 😭
1:49 Well I go like,
“DE DO DA DE, DE DO DA DE
DE DO DA DE, DE DO DA DE”
Phone notification cut it off, so all I read was "How I made son"
OMFG I was wondering how you layered the bass/did the synths for the drops literally a couple days ago. Thank you so much for sharing this video!!!!
Also do you have any preset packs for serum that you like using? Stuff like this is exactly what im looking for rn.
