I can't believe how rude some of you are! Jo is very generous to share his folds and to take the time to video them. If you can't figure them out, maybe you just don't have the skill, don't blame him, grow up.
Seriously, how do you come up with these genius ideas? Like, what? Do you sit there & think: this 15x15 paper is going to fold @ these points until it loox like an animal. So friggin amazing ;o
As much as I am grateful for wonderful UA-cam contributors like you- this video made me punch my computer twice and then crumple up my origami paper in disgust. It all seems fine until the collapsing ensues. What kind of monster labels this as 'simple'.
Hello, Japanzor, I am an origami enthusiast and absolutely love doing it everyday! Youre videos are so wonderful and make my husband and i very happy. Honestly, you have saved our marriage, with your paper filding mastery. I pray you never use your hands for any other talent but this. Love the video! and can you move your hands a bit faster? i can barely pick up on wat youre doing. Thanks!
Very nice job! It only took me 3 tries and that is because I was using copy paper which isn't too forgiving to mistakes. I can't wait till I get some black origami paper to really make it look good.
This wasn’t as easy as it looked, but it always looks easier when Nakashima makes the origami 😉 However, in my defence I made it with 4 x 4 inch paper (10 x 10 cm)
\o/ I enjoy that you've started putting those diagram photos in the video along side the folding. Its helping me to learn how to read the patterns a bit better.
\o/ ~~~^~~~ It's a person with a shark in the water... sort of. I was waiting for an opportunity to use the stick figure guy! I'm going to try your design right now!
\o/ the penguin is amazing. I literaly made 5 of those but i made them from printer paper because I had no idea where to get origami paper from. ps. I think the penguin was easy to make and once again thank you keep up the great work!!
Next time please do the part with the wings a bit more detailled. Cause I didn't get it right so my wings looks kind of different like yours. And please sometimes get your hands away from the paper for a few seconds to show us how it has to look like, thanks, but the begining of your penguin is very good explained. My only problem were the wings.
I’m glad it said simple because it gave me the confidence (and the fear of looking stupid if I failed) to make it first time😊😊 (not a frequent origamiist, sorry for the brag🙈) I did have to watch at 1/4speed from midway onwards though..
Nice model! Personally I don't like raw paper corners to be exposed so I folded the feet triangularly instead. I appreciate the diagrams you add in your video's. Perhaps you could publish those separately as well? After watching the video it makes it a lot quicker to fold the model again. I see you note "no reference points" in some stages. Could you please try to find a reference in your video tutorials though. For example "halfway between this corner and the second crease" or something like that? It would really help me and other folders as well I guess.
Dear Jonkashima, Your origami penguin became very succesful ... where do you get all your neat ideas? btw... do you live in japan? or korea? PLEASE CREATE MORE VIDEO'S!
At 7:07 I made my reference points from the head and passing through the upper CORNER of the rectangle ( the body). The end of the crease will fall at the center of the lower rectangle ( left and right) . What do you think Jo? Nice design...
Watch the REMAKE (2023) with better quality and a new folding sequence: ua-cam.com/video/59myu-mHjNQ/v-deo.html
Ed spoke out a lot about how much he loved Kristin but dude, if he could make this in what, 20 seconds, *that* is the thing he loves!
You know you're level 0 when it takes an hour to get to the end of an 11 minute video.
🙊😂
veré cuánto tardo yo 😶
you know you're level -5 when it takes 2 hours to get to the middle and you rage quit by then
😂
literallyy i spent 20 minutes figuring out the first like 10 folds 🧍
Okay, if Ed actually bothered to do all this work, this must be love
@Rabe F.C. You bet it is
EDWARD MADE THIS IN 15 SECONDS WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING
@Jeanne Lavoie Edward Nygma, a very clever and rather fictional man!
Soon, the penguin army will be finished...
So did you finish the penguin army in the end
d-did ya finish?
Bro?
every time i read "no reference points" i cried...
me too. i hate it
"use existing folds as shown" number one thing you dont wanna see with origami tutorials
its complicated but i did it. you just dont have patience
Epic shots fired.
Yessss I see you added the Gotham tag! This is adorable and the friend I made it for loves it.
Ahahaha :D (me too)

Thanks a lot! My sisters birthday is tomorrow and I just made it for her :D (she's a Gotham fan)
Seriously, how do you come up with these genius ideas? Like, what? Do you sit there & think: this 15x15 paper is going to fold @ these points until it loox like an animal. So friggin amazing ;o
My favorite penguin model on youtube by far- thanks a lot for posting. Add a lil glitter, perfect for an origami christmas tree ;)
As much as I am grateful for wonderful UA-cam contributors like you- this video made me punch my computer twice and then crumple up my origami paper in disgust. It all seems fine until the collapsing ensues. What kind of monster labels this as 'simple'.
eu

First of all he leveled this as low intermediate you idiot learn how to read
low intermediate doesn't mean simple.
it also helps reading the diagrams!
The crackling sound of the paper is so satisfying
thx man your the best origami artist in the universe
How the hell did Ed do this in like 20 seconds
this is the best simple penguin design ever created! ;D

I have it on the lowest speed and have tried a million times. I'm about to cry because I can't get 9:57

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
@itsmanofpopsicle I'm using Inkscape to draw the diagrams (it is like corel draw, but free)
Please make a cube

\o/ I enjoy that you've started putting those diagram photos in the video along side the folding. Its helping me to learn how to read the patterns a bit better.
You are a genius. It involves a lot of guess-folding, though.
This is by far my favourite origami, I really love your work!
@blunek I'm using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 9.0 :)
I was bored so I searched origami and now I'm here on this great video
😀

THNX WOW ITS PERFECT IVE DONE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR ORIGAMI

him immediately xD I made one of these for my friend anyway...

You did a nice job with this video tutorial. I was able to follow you step by step and turn out a pretty decent, recognizable penguin! Thank you!

@cyrusrom I'm using Inkscape
\o/ awesome penguin btw! amazing how you can come up with these things.
\o/ "the brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" uses every letter in the alphabet :D
Nice model! Personally I don't like raw paper corners to be exposed so I folded the feet triangularly instead.
