Incredible music, exclusive club, mystic atmosphere, great band, gorgeous girl ... Is there any reason why not to call this "every player's dream"? ... =)
Saw this movie by accident. I was at a hotel in bed one night flipping channels and just saw the start of this movie and just kept watching it. Then this scene came out and I was blown away. Very good movie. Glad I saw it.
The ending scene when he finally comes to grips with the loss of his son and accepts that he's gone and talks to his headstone as a sort of closure broke me. That scene was so heartbreaking.
It is the most underrated movie EVER. So it drifts into space sometimes but it's haunting. Another very underrated film is Day Trippers with Hope Davis and Stanley Tucci.
A wonderful movie for those who are able to look with the heart and watch with understanding. To me it's about being lost, facing the past, accepting it and learning to start again. Touching story, it's generally showing the healing process and loving again, loving against all odds! They were both great. Jim Caveziel was intriguing and beautiful as ever. ❤
When I first saw this movie I was immediately captivated by this scene. This is what cinema is all about, to allow the viewer to share the expression/emotion(s) of a character and how another character feels/expresses their emotions towards another.
The lyrics to this say it all... There was a boy A very strange enchanted boy They say he wandered very far Very far, over land and sea A little shy and sad of eye But very wise was he And then one day, a magic day He passed my way, and while we spoke Of many things, fools and kings This he said to me "The greatest thing you'll ever learn Is just to love and be loved in return" "The greatest thing you'll ever learn Is just to love and be loved in return" Nat King Cole - Nature Boy
Just watched this movie on Netflix. This song is so haunting. Thanks for the lyrics. It seems the perfect description of Jim Caviezel's character, Catch. 🙂
Jennifer Lopez's BEST movie! It was not some powder puff little comedy romance movie. This one proved she can act if she gets good roles! GREAT song and love how he plays it!
Great movie, great acting, and a great love story of two broken people who heal one another. And how I love "Nature Boy." Jim never played a trumpet, but he learned to play the song just for this movie, and what a great job of it he did. This is a beautiful movie for those mature enough to "get" it, so please rent it, and watch the magic happen. August 23, 2017
@@ajkirkcaldie not saying he didn't learn & play, but if that was him then the audio and video are out of sync. There are a number of times where his fingers move and there's a note change, or visa versa. While you can change notes without moving your fingers, you can't move your fingers without changing a note. And there's at least one part where he's very obviously not playing yet the trumpet in the background keeps going - this may have been supposed to reference how he's lost in the memory of the accident, but it still looks a bit off to have his lips off the mouthpiece and the trumpet keep playing. Look around 1:59 and 2:55 or so for example. JC is pretty incredible IMO so learning to play this wouldn't surprise me, but it doesn't really look like they used his rendition as the audio.
@@yougianfir of course. Years of everyday regular practice. Telling people that someone learned on a song on trumpet because he needed it for a movie is just irritating ignorance.
Can you all listen the suffering, the pain inside him, losing beloved wife and child thru that sad tune? I watch this movie many times.... salute from malaysia.
How enchanting and heart catching the song and the lyrics and I think Jennifer Lopez did wonderful in this movie I am a fan of her movies Also you guys are right the rendition of the song is excellent and captivating
When I watched this movie, its events were normal, most of them are romantic, until this scene came and time stopped at that time, and I went looking for the track
Yes beautiful movie seen it several times n want to buy it again in Philippines where am holydaying but can't find it hope it goes back on Netflix again soon! Even today 20+ years later if rereleased if they let it it would be a number one movie?
Besides the music which....I can't even talk about...Luis Mandoki....has anyone listened to this man's commentary for this movie? I've been listening to director commentaries since I was a teenager. I love it. But never have I heard a director talk about his movie like Luis did for this. I could watch the entire movie running just on what he says. It's like psychoanalysis...with a glass of wine in your hand; soothing and healing. This movie is spectacular. The performances are magical - I've always considered JLo a greater actress than an entertainer, Jim is mesmerizing, the story, the script, the photography. I could talk about it all freakin day, every day. Someone else said it best. Underrated movie. Do yourselves a favour - listen to Mandoki's commentary..
Une scène culte, quoique méconnue, du cinéma; les yeux bleus d'ange douloureux de Jim Caviezel, l'expression de Jennifer Lopez qui commence à comprendre sa souffrance et la trompette déchirante et envoutante de tristesse.
Jon hassell nature boy. On the cover of this song. John coltrane's version in a sentiment. Hope to have this movie in my collection when I'm in the old folks home,Along with road to perdition.😢
In this scene, from the movie, Angel Eyes, with Jennifer Lopez....There is a song that was being played by trumpet & piano from 0 -3:00. This is a beautiful song to listen to in the movie. What is the name of the song & who plays it by trumpet & piano ?
I absolutely love the first song in the beginning of this scene. Does anyone know the name of it? Its the whole reason I looked this part up! Love the movie too. He's hot! And JLO is gorgeous of course
So heart breaking had a cousin who had a similar situation lost there whole family in an accidnet and became a schizophrenic could not cope with the tragedy of losing there family and over night she lost everything her job her family her sanity its heart breaking shes a shell of her ones self. Of course shes medicated on schizo meds but it can cause more harm then good by oversedating zombifying people . Shell never be the same but thats the sad reality of life ;///
this movie was GREAT jim did well with his fake and lopez, anyone who didn't see this missed a GREAT MOVIE....Nature Boy Nat sang it beautifully but not in this movie...
In an interview, Mr Caviezel stated that even though he has never played the trumpet, he learned how to play this song for the realism.

NOT unnoticed by ME...one of my favourite
Agreed!!!!
Just one of many really good films that came out of the 90s decade...we were spoiled...
Duncan 'brother'....you are 100% right...Chet Baker is rollin' in his grave...Charlie parker....
one of the most touching movies jim acted it so well ...felt every emotion
That trumpet and flute together brought tears to my eyes man, what a beautiful melody, and the harmonies were so haunting, it gave me chills.

Mr Jim Caviezel is one my favorite actors 👍🏼

Ya, fine….just go ahead and make me cry crocodile tears
This is the finest rendition of this song ever recorded.
Brings tears to my eyes if I allow my soul to wander its haunting road.
Good one but the james last nature boy live with chuck findley is the single greatest version of this song. Check it out.
@@volkswagenhawk7094 Findley is a freaky player... but his version is all fire ... Jim's version is no pyrotechnics, just haunting gentle music.
First song is called In a Sentimental Mood, originally performed by John Coltrane, Duke Ellington.

This is J Lo's best movie ever! Of course it does not hurt when you have Jim Caviezel as a costar!

I still think about this movie and this particular scene. Especially when someone mentions person of interest. I loved it.

Carol Wade Jim just act to play trumpet....
Play (music) on trumpet needs years of instrumental studies.
