I think it will cut back on tourism some. Personally it would be rare for me to ride out of province because it’s so far away so I would not have a problem with paying $30 for the weekend or $20 for a day.

I dont understand why they would make a decision to charge us to go ride on NB trails.I know they think its cause we are not helping maintain the trails by not paying for a pass but do they not understand that we also contribute to the economy ..hotels,gas,
Restaurants ect?I'm in Halifax and often travel to NB to ride but not sure if we will now,not because of the few bucks it costs for a trail pass but just because of the way they went about this decision..no notice, just out of the blue.I know alot of riders down here are not happy about it.

The communication on both sides could be better. If I am reading things correctly it is the DNR that told NBQuad they could not offer a reciprocal agreements because of how present legislation is written. It also sounds like they are looking into possible changes. Buying a permit after having the privilege of riding for free isn't nice, but a permit cost less then two tanks of gas. Is your moral high ground worth not riding their great trails?

Already purchased the NBQuad permit, i didn't like it but would not ride without one illegally. That said, i was at the ATVANS AGM last week and from what I was told Nova Scotia is still recognizing the NB & PEI permits as reciprocal. The 506SXS&ATV video tours in Nova Scotia can continue.

Got an email from atvans last night from Barry Barnett and he was quite rude to me but he did say they were not gonna honor nb pass in ns because nb wasn't gonna honor them

@@506SXS There is certainly confusion on this subject. Hope to see you for the Pink Rock Run Sunday.

All of the provinces are missing out on huge windfalls of cash, IMHO! In the U.S.A., States that have embraced the ATV/UTV tourism wave are pulling in major windfalls due to the spinoff effects of this sport and increasing popularity. They are going all in, with hotels on the trails, town ordinances allowing UTV/ATV traffic (many times with special conditions being met ex. Addition of Signals/horn). This is what we need in Canada. We have so much vast territory that no one sees. Tourism might increase if we can get provincial trail systems clearly marked. Maybe this is already being worked on, and I’m in the dark, but from what I’ve seen……. Don’t get me wrong, I am glad to have the privilege to be able to ride on the NB trails for a price, but the trails aren’t clearly marked or cut back in some cases, so it isn’t very inviting for tourists if I get tired of bashing forests and getting stuck where a bridge could be! What is the money being used for again!

I’m having a hell of a time trying to get my ownerships license switched to New Brunswick they want my birth certificate and a passport to confirm me and two pieces of mail showing I’m a resident now, I only have one so far and hope I get mail tomorrow and get things straightened out so I can ride this weekend at the rallies.
