Hey everyone! This is part one of a three part series that I will be releasing over the next few months. It was super fun to make! I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did making it.
Phenomenal effort!! I largely ignore Alchemy in game & secretly knew it was to my own detriment. What you've done here to make such a dry topic fun & engaging is amazing
I’m glad to hear it! Thank you so much. Alchemy in the elder scrolls has always been so awesome to me. Same with growing mushrooms or gardening. Just taking something from start to finish and making things from it… so cool.
I’m subbing because I am 1000% behind seeing you grow your channel. You’ve stuck at it for 5 years and you’re finally figuring out a formula that works. Don’t give up keep fucking going you fucking legend.
Oohhh, I thought your voice sounded familiar. I have your absolute masterpiece of a video in Dungeons of the Elder Scrolls in my night time playlist. I was a bit sad when you didn't make a follow up to the fungi of morrowind video. But whatever you feel is best is going to be great, thank you!
Hey, I’m glad you enjoyed! I’m happy to have you along. And thank you for watching the fungi video! In some ways, this is a surface overview of different ingredients. Though, now that I have some new software and technique, I would like to revisit specifically the fungi at some point. I have plenty of journals to get information from😅
Oh man, your video about TES Dungeons is one of my favorite. You are master of your craft. This video is banger, I'm sure now, just starting to watch. Please, do video about magic in this style. Fighting, everything. You are lore master, you are great content creator. Thank you for bringin' quality of UA-cam up in the sky!
You are far too kind, thank you! I have many ideas for more TES videos, and magic is definitely one of them! I also want to do weapons and how they’ve changed over the series as well, mixed with skills and battle styles. Then the pantheons, architectures, everything.
@@OnyxLeviathan lore of TES games is deep and full of great stories, characters etc. Every province have specific culture and history. This is one of the best game to do viedos like yours. I can't wait for more!
oh HECK yeah i've got my potion of Trembling Focus ready to sip while I watch this!! (coffee, it's coffee) Edit: almost an hour in and I realized the recipe for a restore fatigue potion is... a breakfast sandwich? Egg, meat, and some leafy greens between two slices of bread? Delicious.
@@OnyxLeviathan loved the segment where you brew your own mushroom elixer, lowkey would watch an entire video of you just gushing about mushrooms i can tell you’re a connoisseur
I have been looking forward to this video for so long now and to my surprise it was released today! Thank you so much, I look forward to future parts AND future videos. Keep up the amazing work. I am sure some people will say “how do you not have X subscriber” well everyone starts somewhere and you my friend have started on the right foot. Thank you for the content!!
Stumbled upon your channel a few weeks, watched your lore video on caves in TeS and been a fan ever since! Loving the well-researched content, presentation of it and your calm voice. Looking forward to more!
So happy to see part one! I love listening to these videos- its like listening to an actual researcher in Tamriel. I also love the opening bit where you 'mixed' your own potion!
I’m glad you like them! Botany is an incredibly important branch (see what I did there) of the sciences. I actually worked with multiple universities on the TORCH database project for herbarium specimens catalogued. It was a wild time! So I’ve spent a tooooon of time IDing, mounting, and imaging specimens. I hope you enjoy wherever your botany path takes you!
I’m glad you think so! There’s always a worry that Im doing too much here, not enough there, etc. so comments like this really help me feel better. Thank you! Glad to have you along.
5:12 I have paused the video and will now predict what he does: he spits it out and goes "HUUEEEGGHHH!" followed by rushing out of the room to rinse his mouth out.
Excellent video, just as the dungeons one. The pacing is just phenomenal in these, and the addition of real-life facts and the in-characrer narration is just 👌 I truly hope this series goes viral too, simply because it deserves to, but either way us subscribers can still enjoy this masterpiece. Looking forward to the next one, just don't burn yourself out.
Thank you for the kind words! I worked really hard and it means a lot that everyone appreciates it. I was really iffy on the narration because I didn’t know if people would like it, or if it would sound snarky. Haha. It was fun though! I am taking about a week off of editing to get other things done, but then I’ll be back to it.
I think it's a bit humorous that traditional Alchemy never could have transmuted base metals into gold. However, modern physics gives us the knowledge that it can actually be done! It's just not worthwhile to do so.
I really enjoyed this, I just adore the delightful little tidbits about the world that you've sprinkled in, I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the next two parts, but don't strain yourself making them, the best art is made when you're enjoying it ^^
I’m very glad you liked it! The other parts will come in due time, but I’m certainly allowing myself a bit of rest because of holiday logistics and one of my pet’s vet schedules. Thanks for watching!
I do! Mostly bits and pieces here and there, but I worked at a habitat property for my alma mater that was host to many different species. I also grow them myself! Currently trying to upgrade my operation so I can sell them at the farmers markets.
ever had acorn? only thing ive ever foraged, wanna make sure they dont have the cap, they arent green still and have even coloration, no cracks, then you open them with a nut cracker and boil them 7 times changing the water, be sure to remove anything that looks wrong and check for bugs first, alternatively soak them for 7 days changing the water twice a day, the result isnt very strong in flavor, a little nutty and mappley but theres just so many it makes it pretty easy and less intimidating than mushrooms and such
Hey mate, came to your chanel by chance, and became a permanent member! I really love your sense of humor and scientific knowledge. Reminds me of "Imperial Knowledge" and "LeftOverPat" chanels. Keep it up, mate! Best wishes.
I’m glad you liked it! As for the hoodie, I got it from a “metaphysical” store. They sell all sorts of cool knickknacks and stuff. Luckily they also had mushroom themed sections.
Hey this video is awesome! I really love it, one thing you should know though is that it’s pronounced tree-tis, not tree-ties, and plural is pronounced tree-tiss-sees
I mean as you said, technically alchemy is the practice of transmitting metals into gold but I digress as the video game definition is much cooler. Although irl Catholic necromancy (yes necromancy originated with the Catholic Church, and refers to the summoning and binding of demons not raising the dead) is much cooler than video game necromancy. Did you know that an exorcism is a magic spell and a form of necromancy actually?
Absolutely! My favorites are levitation, light, things that assist me without harming anyone else. I typically play characters averse to things like heavy destruction use or (in most cases) conjuration (since it may be calling spirits who wish to rest, yadda yadda). I just love to get in character. I tend to also avoid the exploit, but I do make lots and lots of health and strength restoration from saltrice mixes and stoneflower mixes.
I was really intrigued with the game! I never knew it had an alchemy/sublimation feature. Now I’ve gotten interested enough to potentially play through the whole game!

Seriously, this man is combining lore and real biology into a movie-length video. How does he not have 10x more subscribers by now?
