Seeing Riddles up 2-0 and 16 minutes left in the video, I knew I was in for a good time
So happy for Dabuz, he's been piloting this character for so long. That comeback was insane for game 4...thanks for repping rosa mains for almostt 10 years!!
You could see Dabuz physically shaking at the end of this set - he really had given everything.

I don't think I've ever seen Dabuz make use of Luma this well. Really made the whole character shine in this set.
This is easily Set of the year contender. Both played phenomenal with Dabuz playing the best Rosa I've ever seen. I will cheer him on until he finally wins a Major with Rosa!
Honestly if you look at game 3 Riddles is playing really poorly, he is constantly going in and mashing out of disadvantage and dabuz just runs away and covers his escape then punishes the approach. He plays Kazuya nearly the same against all characters and for Rosalina it doesn't work as well

@@fourniervictor9354 Honestly all Game 2-5 he played the same, though Dabuz was being tricky on his timing and that's what I think threw Riddles off.
Game 3,4 he was so close to winning though Luma clutch.

As a mexican, I loved sparg0's run, but this is by far my favourite set of the tournament, it's the only one that mades me scream and jump with the last hit situations, really amazing performance by dabuzz.
Did you really watch everything? There were other unbelievably hype sets like Ly Cosmos, Zackary acola etc

Dabuz a notorious choker was able to clutch out a reverse 3-0 with his Rosalina and Luma. Could’ve done it with the Min Min if he cleaned up his play but chose to stick to what he knew best

Dabuz’s luma is just so smooth it felt really good to watch like there wasn’t so much tension as there was mesmerization.
I'm so amazed that Dabuz won with Rosa against Kazuya, given this is probably one of Rosa's absolute worst matchups (and Dabuz always struggled fighting riddles). Both did great but nevertheless, congrats Dabuz
Watching this it got me thinking this seems like a decently fair matchup for the sole reason Luma can mess up Kazuya's combos. Why is it considered that terrible for Rosa?
@@MerryBlind Because Rosa is kinda slow and easy to follow up, she's almost as big if not bigger than Ganon making her really easy to combo and she's lighter than Zelda, making her die ridiculously early.
Not really. Rosalina does better against kazuya than most characters. This set is evidence of it.
But regardless dabuz is insane and played really well.
@@santiagoherrera1853 Doesn't seem to add up or all those points were somehow negated by Dabuz's godlike performance it seems. Her floatiness made her seem harder to combo than most characters and allowed her to maneuver around Kazuya and stall when Luma was out. Finally Luma saved her multiple times, taking important hits in her stead.
dabuz plays so patient he’s practically camping but he’s so precise and good that it’s so much fun to watch
Surprised not to see the terry, riddles just won with Terry in this matchup a couple days ago. Crazy set, Dabuz just did things properly and Kazuya loses to that. Awesome match.

I usually go for riddles but seeing dabuz play a unique character and play it well had me hyped up, rooted for Dabuz entirely; I'm glad he won.
Yooooo that was absolutely AMAZING stuff from Dabuz. That neutral he displayed in game 4 being down 3 STOCKS TO 1 AGAINST RIDDLES' KAZUYA was immaculate. The fact that he didn't die to that rage drive scoop, somehow had perfect DI and was kissing the blast zone, then recovers high and gets the reversal with a sneaky down air as Riddles was coming up to meet him with an up-B, and immediately was able to combo that into an up air to steal the game. Shit was so hype. THEN in game 5, it was down to last hit last stock, Dabuz NARROWLY avoided the sparta kick at the ledge, which would've definitely killed with all that rage on Kazuya, and clutches it out. Fucking amazing set to watch.

Sonic is way faster than Rosa and has better Frame data, although both would make me upset

@@AWater22 That’s not really what I’m asking. By “stalling” I mean Rosa runs around waiting for Luna to respawn
a bit late but I think it's because rosa does this in order to wait for luma, while sonic does this in order to win by timeout. Also sonic is way stronger as a character
Luma was the real MVP, he took like 3 critical electric fists to stop the finishing combo that Riddles does, also saving Rosalina from the ground options of tech rolls, and some clutchs hits in the last stocks of game 4 and 5 truly, the best set of the tournament

Correct me if im wrong, but if you have an openening to kill the Luma, wouldnt you just kill it? The last game Riddled just ignored it and kept getting hit by it.
I think because that would become predictable by a top player like Dabuz and he would counter it again maybe by attacking or something. I agree with you tho, but im sure as hell no top player and Riddles is 😂
Kazuya's problem is that if he kills Luma, then Rosalina has no problem retreating and counting down the 12 seconds or whatever it is for Luma to respawn. She's faster, both in the air and on the ground, she's floaty with a good enough recovery (against Kazuya) to be able to hang around offstage for quite a while. She even has Gravitational Pull to nullify lasers. If she wants to disengage there's not all that much Kazuya can do.
He got punished at least once for prioritizing the luma, it is a hard decision to make. Especially considering the fact that despite how essential the Luma is, Dabuz had zero issues stalling until the Luma returned.
*SPOILERS IN CASE YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE SET:* Even though I’m not a huge fan of the characters Dabuz plays, I’ll never say no to his pop offs!

After paseriman I had faith in Dabuz, I don't follow these two, but based on this set, Riddles doesn't seem to be able to adapt as much as Dabuz can. Dabuz was much more disciplined.

I always thought the only reason why Dabuz doesn't place higher more often is because of Swords; such characters with large coverage and priority are really difficult for Rosalina and Olimar.
@@afgcinc7206 They just blow up too easily. If you can't consistently survive past 120-130% it's really hard to maintain stock leads.
@@afgcinc7206 well depends on the sword character. Rosalina can do well against characters like Ike sephiroth and Lucina because she has bigger range, but the sword characters that have really good advantage state she struggles with.

that game 4 is the biggest lead I've ever seen riddles throw it felt like he wasn't focused enough at that moment and I admit I had the same thing happen to me as a kazuya main having a full stock lead can make you become lazy a bit it's hard to keep focus when you're winning by so much
Riddles didn’t really do much wrong it’s just Davis played super well and it’s really hard for kazuya to do anything against a Rosa playing at that level.
Without stun kazuya isnt that invincible luma really saved this match.

Yeah this was painful to watch as a Riddles fan. Unconventional characters like Iceies and Rosa are just difficult matchups, Riddles will adapt like he has before and win the next set.
