Started watching Getter Robo Armageddon and just while I haven’t gotten to the part with Black Getter yet, Ryoma is already one of my favorite Super Robot pilots and the Black Getter is just badass.
@@santabenedetta5500 the last day IS armageddon, just a different name translation. The Last Day of the World is the literal one (Sekai Saigo no Hi) while Armageddon is the official one.
I like using Ryoma's units just for the bgm theme. XD This is so much fun to listen to, plus Ryoma himself sounds so good. Of course Hideo Ishikawa would have perfect control over his voice and great lungs, the dude's studied opera. ...I kind of want to see Al-Van Ranks and Ryoma in the same game someday, just because a team attack from the two would be one badass Ishikawa-fest.
I figured this would be a series to re use a lot of attack animations, especially with how much effort went into the Z2 animations i looked up. I guess not lol.
In terms of animations for Black and shin getter I think Z3/VTX took a step backward from Z2 Saisei hen. Motion and presentation look kind of off despite the better resolution. Movements are laggy I get they want to replicate the 70s-80s TV-style for some robots but Shin Getter OVA is 1999. Looks like the producer is skipping frames in the sequence from 1:49-1:52. In Z2 the punching action looks much smoother.
You keep the Black Getter after you get Shin Getter, but there's no point to use it. Black Getter is one-seater only and there's no substitute pilot for it.
Yes, you keep it, but Shin Getter is far better, with Multiform Balance and individual Spirit Commands for the Subpilots. Basically, Black Getter is relegated to just one form, but after you get Hayato and Benkei, they both add to how many Spirit Commands the Black Getter can use, making it self sufficient.

The black getter came out after they started fighting a monster that took over human bodies and could no longer be saved if i am not wrong

I wish the punching sequence could last longer with in-fight style ending, in Z2 it also has that cut-in feature while punching enemy in the face
