I think it's time people learn that school has to be more than just learning. The teachers must connect with their students if they have any chance of teaching them. This video certainly shows that.
Fantastic rector, staff and school. You really cheered me up and brought a lot of happiness and fun into my day with this video. What a fantastic gesture by staff and what a wonderful cheer from the kids at end. FANTASTIC,FUN,BRILL, and what a brill memory for all that were there that will last a lifetime. If Carlsberg did schools. It would be Bells Baxter
Anyone who doesn't recognise this for the BRILLIANT bit of fun that this is is, frankly, a bit of a spastic. Oh, and 18-year olds in pyjamas - marvellous.
Congrats to all you 6th years for organising this. It's Viral for christ sakes! Give it 2 years and us 4th years'll top it. We're planning all ready...
@ChristopherHeward A Rector is another name for Headmaster, commonly used in Scotland. Fantastic vid, what a great atmosphere! And I did notice the PJs before seeing the comments. Brilliant!
Definition of a flash mob: A group of people who appear from out of nowhere, to perfom predetermined actions, designed to amuse and confuse surrounding people. The group performs these actions for a short amount of time before quickly dispersing. THIS IS A FLASH MOB
@BennyDDC The only ones in the school that knew the flashmob was going to happen, were the pupils and teachers dancing. It's probably the most successfully kept secret within BBHS for quite some years.
I loved it and I'm sure that the negative comments on here won't affect the enjoyment of everyone involved at Bell Baxter . Can't help but laugh at the fact that people who weren't interested took the time to watch and then make comment why bother? Here's an idea - if you don't like it don't spend time on it! Or have you nothing better to do?
@theDesensitized unfortunately word got out the 'something' was going to happen in the dining hall at lunch, something to do with a 6th year prank. That's why there are people standing around, which was a shame, but Mr Black wasn't 'prompted' to burst into song by pupils, us 6th years and teachers had rehearsed the dance the day before, and people just happened to be waiting for something to happen at lunch, he still burst out dancing.
@Judgementtday Actually, everyone was clapping was because music started. We all thought it was a practical joke of some sort. Second, who needs to know dancing? This was our rector, he had never danced before!! It was only a send-off to the 6th Years. Thirdly, we didn't know this would happen. There was a rumour that something was going to start in the Dining Hall, so we all went to see. And finally - eh, who cares, I'll remember it.
That's kinda cool, but like many others before me have already pointed out, it's not a flash mob; a flash mob is completely out of the blue, here the pupils are waiting for it to happen and cheering the principle on as he steps up. Had he just burst out dancing without being prompted to by the pupils, it would've been more of a flash mob.
For once BBHS is on the news for something other than a Road Accident killing pupils! When I finished 6th year four years ago you guys were just little 2nd years, you did us proud! If only Bum-chin had left in 5th year perhaps we could have done something awesome for our final day too...
@ChristopherHeward Haha, yeah that was our last full day of school, so a lot of us decided to just come in wearing PJs. That's not really been mentioned so far... Oh well. :)
@xSugarMousex I clearly can because the fact that everyone in the room was facing the same direction it means that it was known by EVERYONE what was going to happen.... therefore you are not right.
You said it was a normal day, you are all in your pjarmers, with your phones out. Its not like it really was a normal day and the teachers randomly started dancing, that would be freaky!
@mikasaka As part of our last week in 6th year, we agreed to make that day our 'pyjama day', just for a bit of last week fun :) that isn't our normal school wear ha!
@djdude36 Two minutes before this video starts, people had been aimlessly looking around waiting for an unknown 6th year prank to begin. People are staring at Mr Black because YMCA music had just started and he was storming around looking angry. Yes, people probably guessed he was about to do something, but this was definitely not fake. Thanks.
@KBXoX right so everyone was clapping in tune before anything happens ? they just guessed ? If you want to do a flash mob get people what can dance and at least act a little. and even if people knew something was going to happen it is not much of a flash mob. and you wont be remembered in 5 years from a sort of flash mob ....
The BBC brought me here. Well done to everyone who organised and took part! This deserves to go viral :)
What a cool school - you guys rock!... hope you had a blast and what a way to remember your old school
I think it's time people learn that school has to be more than just learning. The teachers must connect with their students if they have any chance of teaching them. This video certainly shows that.
Well done my old school,I'm proud of you.
A fantastic upload. A treat for the students. ☺

Yeahhhhhh! Yay Chloe, Becky and Gainesy - you have made us legends. :)
Anyone who doesn't recognise this for the BRILLIANT bit of fun that this is is, frankly, a bit of a spastic.
Oh, and 18-year olds in pyjamas - marvellous.
And thus, a legend was born.
Hugh Martin should have won Best Newcomer at The Oscars for this performance!
Not really getting why anyone would dislike this, I would've loved to see my teachers do that today :')
Excellent! Something to treasure for all pupils and staff.
wearing PJ's was one of the things we decided to do in our last week for a bit of fun, just happened to be on the same day we did this :)
