Vols got Banks for at LEAST 3 more years. He's going to grow that prestige and harvest it (get a MUCH larger contract for Head Coach). Dude doesn't mess around. Defensive coordinators have to be intelligent in a way that they have to accurately predict what the other team may do based on excessive research of his staff and adjust it to fit the Head Coach's game plan. Making the adjustments and displaying continuous victory on the defensive side will ultimately BOOST the contract size. Banks is no fool.

I'm just not sure, even with a scholarship, if you ever lose the walk-on status. Is he a walk-on, yes. Is he on scholarship, yes. It's hard to answer a question like that. Lol, we needed a better/more direct question! If successful, I think most players look back and would bring it up, in most cases, that they were walk-ons. Kind of a badge of honor type thing.

Too early to pre ej all about this team. At least coach is punting and taking FGs instead of going for it on too many 4th downs like he did last year. Last year he didnt realize Milton wasnt Hooker. This year hopefully he'll play better field position football at times. He was a riverboat gambler last year. 4th and 4 on our own 39 up 20 to 6 at Alabama last year would be a good example. Hope coach realizes what he could have this year and doesnt let the hype get to him.
I guess this is what makes us fanatical, theres no middle ground. Either we are winning the superbowl or we are struggling like last year. I dont think its either, yes Okl had a bad offense and couldn't test this Defense but the Defense did what they were posed to when your good and dominate the game. Yes our Offense didnt run up and down the field scoring 50pts but Okl does have a pretty good Defense and we were down 2 tackles on a terrible field. We still dont know exactly what our team is but id think your blind if you dont see this team is better than last years. The Defense is a good clip better and the offense is closer to 2022 than 2023 with the opportunity to be even better as Nico matures. Just enjoy that were not losing to KY with a wr at qb and getting beat by Vandy or going winless in the SEC. This team is much closer to the elites than the team we used to be under the last 3 fools. This team has a chance to actually win it all or maybe itll fall short but its a team and staff we can be proud of. We have just as much reason to back this team as any other fanbase has this season.

The D also seems better than last year against similar early season competition. The secondary is totally green. The front 7 look good. And coach humbled his riverboat gambling instincts and acknowledged that Hendon Hooker wasnt qb anymore. So im hopeful. But there's tougher opponents ahead. The real proving ground is straight ahead. Theyre gonna have to execute on offense more. And the D will face some much better offenses.
