- Here's some more footage off my new GoPro Hero3 Black Edition!
I went out to the track to film my dawg Jeff Brewer ripping his bike around, pulled an e-brake or 2, and then got some of that halloween weekend snow at Boreal!
Mostly 120fps, but there's some 2.7k 30 mixed in as well as some 4k time lapses!

Boreal up in tahoe 2 days ago! we got a bunch of snow, so they farmed it into a run and put some rails out. There's a woodward there too now with indoor skating, tramps and whatnot. so much fun :D
Amazing angles at snowboarding when you slide that pipe, man!! I'm not really a good snowboarder myself....and it must be quite difficult to focus on sliding and giving yaself a good angle like that! Well done! Your vid is quite impressive compared to some other Hero3 vids i've seen. Keep it up!

that right there is a Flow Era 153 nice medium stiffness rocker board. has a little bit of width to it. It's great in the park in smaller sizes, and fun in the pow in bigger sizes.
yeah, woodward copper is so sick! I might end up out in co before the year's up
quick frontside backside lesson! frontside on rails is when your front is facing the rail on the approach, back to the rail is backside. frontside/backside on jumps is if your front/back is facing the knuckle on the first 90 degrees of rotation.. etc. I think you're asking about a frontside boardslide. I'm going to throw that in another reply comment as I've run out of space in this one

yeah, boreal opened last weekend with a trail or 2 and some rails. hopefully some cold temps and more snow this week keep it going!

ahaha that clip was a little bit of a task. I filmed a timelapse on a tripod for half an hour or so, then switched it to 120fps, super easy w/ the new remote and no chance of moving the camera. then drifted in front of it. overlayed the timelapse onto just the sky while I had the car going by in all its 120fps glory

I wish I could give this one 10 thumbs up! I wouldn't have bothered on my hero2 because I think the audio was kinda ehh to begin with, so I bought a sennheiser mke400 with a wind furry thing on it. I still have that on my followcam rig for my hero3. For handheld and mounted, I think this would actually work really well because the audio in the hero3 is much more usable. always wanted to get some audio in on my handheld edits. thanks dawgg!

Front boards! there's a few things that you need to do to really have this trick solid. first you want to pop up on to the TOP of the rail. don't be a baby and throw your board to the inside. keep your knees bent, and your torso perpendicular to the rail. make sure your board is completely sideways. it's way easier to hang up when you're crooked. find a small flat rail and practice doing them and popping over the other side of the rail early on purpose. itll save you some slams later on.
protune and color correcting :D I'm not a pro color corrector yet though. still learning about color balancing and all that jazz
yep! still a protune noob here tho. I have some to learn about getting the most out of it
film it on my camera, transfer it in cineform, edit in final cut. I'm going to start doing all my color correcting in cineform now though. I've been messing around comparing clips, and I'm a lot happier with what cineform does to the protune clips
Awesome video!!! Im just curious as to how you made the shot at 0.54 look so damn good! what were the settings on? the car seemed to be captured in 120 frames but the clouds seem to be timelapst! let me know! wicked video!
I'm pretty sure its 2 different shots on top of each other merged in software :P Really cool effect though, I haven't seen someone do that before.

I'm 5'8'' I think 155 would be a good all around park board size for you! I wouldnt really see a need to go any bigger on a board unless you are hitting big jumps.. like over 50'
yeah that! I've been experimenting with it a little bit here and there. keeps the dafuq?!'s coming. you really need the right composition to make them work

Gotta throw in some sharpening, contrast, saturation and sometimes...noise reduction to make it look pwetty

Put a 30MPH StornChaser WindCutter on your GoPro camera and record all the sound of the ride without all the wind noise.
Some steeze on the snowboard. Any advice on going frontside (back turned to the bottom of feature) on setups like that?
hmm, what do you recommend that will hurt the car less? left foot brake.. powerslide? I'm more of a pro snowboarder than a pro driver

tim how would you compare the 2013 verve vs any of the 2012 flow boards like the shifty and the era?? would like to know if the tech has really improved enough to cop a 2013.. Thanks
