Why was in-state college tuition once something that kids paid in full, all on their own, with an ordinary summer job? Why was rent affordable for anyone working full time? If state universities were subsidized through state taxes, like they once were, it would create DOWNWARD pressure on all tuition. On the other hand, loans are just like leverage, and create UPWARD pressure on all tuition. Financing college using earned dollars is not the same as borrowing against future earnings. A state subsidy of state universities holds the line on tuition, and private colleges feel the pressure to follow suit, at least to some extent. Letting all colleges set their tuition as they see fit, more or less, while underwriting loans (which means borrowing against future earnings) will always create upward pressure on tuition. You find money to pay for it that doesn't actually exist yet, in the sense of having been earned. Liberalized bank lending for mortgages forces home prices upward as well. You already know this. How did they fool you into not knowing it?
@chankston7954 Barely. Fifty years ago, they were almost entirely supported by state taxes. And that was when a summer job covered a full year. Look into leverage. For example, consider what buying stocks using leverage does to the risk and reward. Financing college using earned dollars is not the same as borrowing against future earnings. A state subsidy of state universities holds the line on tuition, and private colleges then feel the pressure to follow suit, at least to some extent. Letting all colleges set their tuition as they see fit, more or less, while underwriting loans (which means borrowing against future earnings) will always create upward pressure on tuition. You find money to pay for it that _doesn't actually exist yet,_ in the sense of having been earned, but is created for the purpose, by the federal guarantee. This part you understand. Liberalized bank lending for mortgages forces home prices upward as well. You already know this. Of course that created the conditions for the 2008-2009 collapse.

Butter is up almost 100% and Chicken is up 60%, here in AZ. I don't care how the rest of the numbers are shaking out, nobody is outpacing that because they are staples we eat hundreds of pounds per year, per person. Shrimp and lobster are down comparatively, and cost so much in the first place that they alone can manipulate that pacing number to look like wages are outpacing inflation. Plus, the union gains of last year where we saw the greatest labor movement since the 1930's were all staggered. That means they are still seeing the bumps they were promised over time, and those increases are also what is driving that wage/inflation pacing.

YES. Yes, Bri, I have heard RFK talk about his housing plans. He talks about it *all the time*. He wants to give first time homebuyers “a rich uncle…Uncle Sam,” who will cosign their loan to negotiate a lower interest rate (3%). He also wants to make it unprofitable for mega companies like Blackrock, Statestreet, and Vanguard to own single family housing, so that they stop gobbling up properties and out-competing everyone else, driving up costs and driving down supply. He talks about it so much, I’ve pulled this all from memory.

I agree with Robby. All industries that are half private sector/ half government sector are MUCH more expensive than they should be, and would be cheaper if they were just private sector. Healthcare, insurance, education, energy etc.
Then why was in-state tuition something a minimum wage summer job used to cover *easily?* Why could two roommates working for a bookstore afford Manhattan rents? (Why were those kids more resourceful and mature?)
Obama gave the private sector health care industry a massive gift with the ACA. Is yours cheaper, with better coverage and lower copays? I'll save you--it's not.

If the government is going to subsidize education they need to also regulate how much colleges can increase tuition so colleges can’t make endless profits

It was Donald Trump who raised my middle class NY'er taxes, and gave himself a big tax cut. It's also Donald Trump who will cut our SS and Medicare if re-elected.
@aclapierre. Yes, when I heard him say nothing will change I knew for sure the mainstream Dems are just as bad as the Reps.
True, Donald Trump was caught on tape saying he will give the billionaires ANOTHER massive tax cut! 😡
Liar In Chief... 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤬🤬🤬
And I thought trump was bad…

Surprising from Brianna. I have watched interviews where RFK has talked about what he's going to do about the housing crisis.... I'm not completely sold on these ideas but I won't omit their existence!
No, not surprising at all from her. She's got this grudge against RFK Jr because Marianne Williamson and Cornell West turn out to be such nothing burgers and she can't get past her one issue with him which is his Israel stance which she doesn't completely understand anyway just like everything she's made her mind up against, in a willful manner. She doesn't understand that closing all of our military bases including the Middle East and ending military aid to foreign Nations like Kennedy plans on doing, would completely solve our problems with Israeli occupation and all of the surrounding Muslim nations. Same for the genocides we are aiding and abetting in Africa and Eastern europe. She refuses to watch RFK Jr's video about the other genocide Israel is committing right now which has murdered more than 1 million Christian Armenians within the last 2 years and continues on. And no one but Kennedy is talking about this large-scale genocide happening right now. But all she can see is his anti Hamas comments and nothing else matters.
WOW> Lie after lie from Bribem.
RFK Jr. has a housing plan and he's explained it multiple times. Brie do a little research
She does this on purpose. She is a overprivileged ivy league law school graduate who just couldn't make it in the business and is doing this hack job for a living instead. And obviously one of her major problems as being a lawyer must have been doing research or maybe she's just so ideological that she refuses to accept that there are other sides and she might be wrong. She just goes on her hurt feelings. Childish and unprofessional.
@@decolonizeEverywhere👍 She's a MSM wannabe, watch her evolve into a MSNBC type eventually
Kennedy is the choice of True Democrats. Biden is a Communist running under the Democrat tent.
He sounds worse by the day.
Why can't we have a normal 50 something run for President?
We had that… his name is Obama…. I’d rather have Trump 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
I'm with Robbie on this one his economic ideals are better

Liberalized bank lending for mortgages forces home prices upward as well. You already know this. Of course that created the conditions for the 2008-2009 collapse.
RFK has a great plan on Housing and maybe u should ask him about it or better yet...do research so you don't make inaccurate statements
I thought the free money was suspect. It’s not a surprise that everything costs more and the dollar is worth less now
Take a look at the deficit, which the rich lobby for. Instead of paying taxes, they buy Treasury bonds, and _we_ pay _them_ interest. From our taxes.
And they can afford the ad men to convince you that's better. 😂
Let’s just face it. They’re doing Joe just like they did Dianne Feinstein. If you can’t see that then I question your loyalty to America.
I want a 10% flat tax and a balanced budget.
I heard that's racist..
Wait until Brianna finds out that the amorphous entity is actually a private institution.
Haifa is originally Arabic name means region and coastal now under occupation and Arabs been kicked out in 1948 called nakba
The crook has no idea what"s really going on, nor what he is doing. He is so focused on what other than American"s think of him.
What I’m surprised about is the people who are shouting “four more years”, are they serious??
YES!!! Robbie!! Yesterday I complained that he had been neutered ever since bri low key threatened his job (watch or this will be the last time we share a panel). I begged the bosses to give him some security back so he would feel free to fight back and I even pointed out his topics and his people weren't ever allowed to be back. TODAY ROBBIE SHOWED UP to play. Thank you for telling her obvious truths about the things the create inflation!

How many kids died in Chicago last weekend?
... Americans priorities are in the wrong place.
Debt "forgiveness" DOES NOT forgive the American taxpayer, WHO IS GIVEN THE BILL FOR ALL "FORGIVEN" DEBT!
Yes, RFK Jr does have a housing plan and has spoken about it publicly!
Is it leveling Gaza in orde to build houses there for his zionist puppeteers?!
Yes I’ve heard RFK JRS plan on housing etc
Why do people expect Biden to be coherent? There is no surprise that he is continuously lost. It isn't his fault, it is the fault of the system around him.
“When people are saying” - Bri… it’s nauseating
Stopping our incessant wars could really bring costs down. Inflation is already but a tax to the American people.
Bri and her partisan talking points make this show unwatchable
Not Robbie's sycophantic protection of billionaires' pocketbooks? The working class did best when the top tax rate was 80%.
Is there anywhere a twice retired teacher can move if Biden is re-elected in 2024? How can anybody vote for Biden and the Democrats. When people tell me their negative concerns about Trump and Kennedy, I shut them down.
I'm moving to red areas in red states. I'm done dealing with partisan Democrats. They're just insane. I can have conversations with Republicans and Independents and Libertarians but Democrats are intolerable at this point
Why are multimillion companies only paying 8% taxes? I'm paying 35 %
You forgetting the bail outs.
Drop inflation by 2/3…. Gas just wen up 50 cent in the pass week. It ain’t 4/20 yet Joe
so much fun seeing Bri get all worked up over biden. The guy is so so lost. It's time for the gaslightinhg to end
You mean to say "Biden Stumbles as He Sits Down for an Interview"
Well Robbie actually pushed back, welcome surprise
The FEDERAL reserve isn’t federal, it’s a private entity! So who really runs the world!
RFK talks about giving first time homebuyers, 3% mortgages and prosecuting against Black rock for breaking antitrust laws
Anytime anyone disagrees with her, she is condescending and mean. She doesn’t want to hear any arguments with her theory because she always thinks she’s right.
It’s hard to watch sometimes
This time, Robby condescended toward her.
Robby: why was in-state college tuition once something that kids paid in full, all on their own, with an ordinary summer job? Why was rent affordable for anyone working full time?

She’s hard to watch
Finally yea it wasn’t her this time Robby needs to learn to STOP INTERRUPTING her and let her finish her point then you can come in and make your point, it’s rude and I hated when she did it, since I made a statement about it 2 months ago she worked on it… but this guy just doesn’t like to listen to advice…
Whatever. I found Bri very comical about it this time and looking very pretty. Lucy and Desi but in reverse, or something? Archie and Edith? Burns and Allen? Nah
The nursing home is calling Biden and Trump.
I love how they at least let Robby call out Briahna on her idiotic economic takes since she seems to have never read a book on economics and goes by whatever "experts" fit her narrative. It's true in almost all cases whether its housing, medical, education, you subsidize it and price will almost always go up. Weve been subsidizing housing and education for DECADES with Billions of dollars and were still talking about getting prices down as they inflate year over year
Why don’t they fact check him and call him out on all these lies?
Yes bring Robby’s experts on , I would like to see that other side of the discussion , I’m sure Bri will be ready
This is an absolute disgrace.
When the government pays for veterans health. The cost went down for veterans.
Thanks goodness. Robbie is finally growing a spine! Bri ALWAYS interrupts but just cant take it when she is interrupted. Always with the pauses and faces.
Wages are out pacing inflation??? What planet is he living on?
Was he able to name any city of the region correctly? I missed the beginning.
Yes, but Ukraine is not a NATO member, so why does NATO have to get involved in this conflict risking aarmagedon
Ukraine paid him for this support. That’s why he keeps pushing for it. A deal’s a deal!
Ukraine and Israel aid NEEDS TO BE AUDITED!
Pay your fair share, Joey- % of how many million?-Joey could pay for his own wars.
Bahaahahhahaaha.....that was the funniest thing i've read. You SERIOUSLY THINK PRIVATIZATION MAKES THEM MORE CHEAP!? AFTER THOSE INSULIN AND BIZ-BRO $500 EPIPEN SHENANIGANS!?
@@l.w.paradis2108 those kids weren’t more resourceful and mature; they just happened to grow up in a time before the prices had SKYROCKETED. The federally backed student loans have led to the increased cost as well as unnecessary spending. I love college sports as much as the next guy, but there’s no reason college football coaches should be the highest paid state employees like they are in many states. College needs to refocus on affordable education and I think privatization would help with that.
@iansansburn4619 Well, starting work at 16 and paying your own way through, and being expected to, teaches you things that parental support and taking on debt cannot. Yes, I agree they had more purchasing power per dollar they earned --- and that is GOOD for building character. Work is supposed to get you somewhere. You're not supposed to work hard and yet not afford necessities.
Most people I know who made serious money made it in stock trading, not through earning it.
Biden acts and sounds so feeble -nuts he's running.
If the government is going to subsidize education they need to also regulate how much colleges can increase tuition so colleges can’t make endless profits
To think America has Biden and trump as their best options to lead their nation
How many people in your country again😅
Is even Putin targeting civilians the same way the Palestinians are dealing with there?
RFK has said numerous times he plans on taxing the big corporations who are buying up all our Real estate to bring down housing costs. Then is going to introduce a first time home buyers program to give everyone 3% interest rates . Best and only plan I’ve heard so far
Robby! "How about we bring some of my experts." It's refreshing to hear you be strong enough to hold balance on this show.
Inflation is so stubborn when you drive up energy costs with an embargo on Russia. It's so weird, what can we possibly do about that?
Bri trying to figure out where inflation comes from, can't be the government printing money and giving it away programs...it's the pandemic and evil corporations! You go Bri
yeah, 'cause corporations would NEVER try to inflate their prices, LOL
Wait, only "normal people" make less than $400K per year? Is that single, married, family (with one kid maybe?)? I am confused.
I live in PA, my gas is up to 3.89…..higher than it’s been in a while. Groceries are still too high. Please stop saying inflation is coming down.
It's not Joe's understanding of our problems at home, It's that his HANDLERS don't understand.
SCARY TO THINK ANYONE WOULD VOTE FOR THIS POOR GUY.
According to Piers Morgan American has more than enough money for everything. Guess he does not include struggling Americans in his definition of everything.
Thank God for robby... Didn't like him at 1st however now I'm glad someone has common sense on this show👍
Country could use an extra 500 million dollars 😅. Democrats love this guy
Inflation, the cost of living is a huge issue. Someone answer why, because I can’t find the answer to this: why are people out in the street screaming for Palestine, but nobody is out in the streets shutting down traffic, doing civil disobedience, organizing for cost of living?
Bri you dolt, you are increasing demand if you make something free or subsidize it. Increasing demand does what to prices? Come on you went to Harvard, you’ve told us enough times.
Why was in-state college tuition once something that kids paid in full every year, on their own, with an ordinary summer job?
Why were there affordable rents in every city, for anyone who worked full-time? A minimum wage worker needed a roommate, not a trust fund, to live on Manhattan.
You are no dolt, so tell us.
Question for Robby:
Israel has free university education, does this raise the price of university education in Israel?
10:30 Briahna de-escalated that like a master
Bri: "trump exposed!" for telling people he wont raise their taxes 😂
