I remember the swagger, the attitude of Miami in those days. During the national title game, I, as a kid, remember my Dad pacing and every time he saw the slightest example of chest-thumping from the Hurricanes saying, "Buncha thugs!" Hahaha. The hate was real.
Growing up an Alabama fan, my die hard Auburn fan father told me the only time he rooted for Alabama is when Bama beat Miami in the Sugar Bowl in '92. Everybody hated Miami lol
@@mhs0407 100% incorrect. The 1989 NCAA Division I-A football season ended with Miami winning its third National Championship during the 1980s, cementing its claim as the decade's top team, winning more titles than any other program.
@@scottnoble7306 Bama has 18 National Titles. That 1992 rout of Bama over Miami 34-13 was classic and Miami hasn't defeated Bama since. All that thrash talking that year and Bama just put a good, old fashion a** whooping on those loud mouths from Miami in 1992.
Anybody who says Bama wasn't paying too much attention to CFB in the 80's - early 90's. The U were REALLY good, but that wasn't the issue. They were good *and they knew it*. They talked endless amounts of smack because they could back it up. They weren't good sports, didn't shake hands at the coin toss, were the sole reason excessive celebration penalties were enacted. But it goes way deeper than that. People hated them for being arrogant, yes, but they hated them more for the way they dressed (fatigues heading into the stadium), the celebrities who were always around (most notable Luther Campbell of 2 Live Crew), the corruption that was plain to see, etc. Throw in a heavy pour or classism and racism and they made the perfect villain for the Michigan, Alabama, Notre Dame, Nebraska blue bloods of CFB. They didn't care about the cherished traditions, or about trying to assimilate into the "well spoken, polite" persona people thought elite athletes should have. I was a freshman at Alabama and in the stands with the band for the 92 Sugar Bowl. We had people from all over telling us how glad they were somebody took those "thugs" down. We were told Alabama didn't stand a chance and would get drilled, so we were ecstatic to have beaten them soundly for a NC. Looking back now, there's a LOT of cringe about how people talked about Miami. The hate currently held for Alabama will go away as soon as we stop winning, which will happen. The hate is not focused on the backgrounds, character, or dress of the players on the team. I equate the current Bama dynasty to the USC dynasty from the early 2000's - we hated them because they always won, we reveled when Texas beat them, and promptly forgot about them when Pete Carrol left.
I agree. The hate that Alabama gets currently is purely jealousy because they win all the time. The hate for Miami in the 80's and 90's was more culturally motivated. Miami didn't care about tradition, didn't care about the blue bloods, didn't care about the national opinion. Growing up in south Florida in the 80's, we didn't care. That's the way we play. We talk trash, we celebrate, we make opponents mad. I never understood the hatred until I got older and saw the bigger picture.
@@guineapigclips5205 I wish ND could just go ahead and join the ACC full time so we can get some more Miami/ND matchups. It's an epic rivalry and the last time they played I was in the crowd and it was intense!
@@dave011679 I would love to see them both as good as they were back then. Miami hasn't been that great lately, and ND has never been championship caliber recently. That way when they play it means something
One major difference is that Miami didn’t get rewarded to make championships based on their brand name more than their talent….. In fact Miami got screwed out of national championships during the dynasty whereas the same has NEVER happened for Alabama
Josh is right, yet again. Miami is still hated--maybe not for the same reasons today as it was back then but the national media absolutely despises UM.
During the '92 national championship game between bama and the canes, I was sitting in the dome in new Orleans next to my "then" brother in law, a huge auburn fan. He lost his voice before half time. But we could not hear each other anyway. That is the loudest game I have ever attended.
That game was awesome. I was 20 years old and at my first title game. I have attended many more since then but that one is my all time favorite. Do you remember taunting Gino Toretta with the "Gino" chants? Good times!!!
That’s really the biggest sign. When we played LSU, Clemson, and Bama, those fans hated us as if we’ve been going back and forth for years. It was the strangest thing. Those teams have been winning championships, we shouldn’t even be on their radar. Strangest victim/superiority complex I’ve ever seen.
@@whodat4lyfekris well yeah I'd say Bama is more hated in 2022 because they've been the best. But in like 1990, Miami has much more hated then than Bama is now. Josh is spot on
You're right Josh... They're just too young to remember how despised The U really was! I'm 57 and remember the whole run. Even here in Arkansas where one of our favorite sons was the head coach...folks hated them with a purple passion. We didn't hate Jimmy but we hated them Canes'. For a little context; we were mad at Frank Broyles for passing on Jimmy Johnson as head coach FOR THE SECOND TIME!! Jimmy wanted the job and Frank hired Lou Holtz instead ( it worked out pretty well ), but in 83 when Lou was sent packing for endorsing senator Jesse Helms of North Caralina ( an absolutely fool thing to do for a college coach, a recruiting disaster! ), then Jimmy wanted the job again!! Then Frank hired Ol slow boring wishbone coach Ken Hatfield and then it got out that Frank gave Jimmy a "Token Interview" ie: He had already decided to hire Ken and just gave Jimmy a meaningless interview to not hurt Jimmy's feelings! I don't know how it got out...but it did, and Jimmy was understandably angry and insulted and so were a lot of Arkansas fans. ESPECIALLY when Jimmy started beating the brakes off everybody!! Jimmy got his revenge in 87 when his Hurricanes came into Little Rock and gave us the worse beating of my lifetime! We'll I love your channel and hope this wasn't too long. God Bless
As a Bama fan, I remember how much the world loved Bama for taking down the Dirty Dynasty in the 92 sugar bowl.. everybody loved Bama for that.. Hard to believe that now Bama is on the other end… Must be a generational thing..
Unfortunately it’s a classic case of living too long to see yourself turn into a villain. It’s kinda also happening to Clemson, when everybody loved Dabo and Clemson for beating bama, but once they beat other major teams, people get upset and turn you into a villain over everything. Although I must say, personally it’s come to the stage were it’s impossible to dislike bama anymore. It is the pinnacle of college football!
I only hate the Buckeyes, always will. because it is fun and they have the worst fans in sports, maybe there are buckeyes fans who can actually talk about football but all the ones I see online exclusively talk the meanest most personal trash for no reason.
I never meet mean Bama fans, they are always just grateful to be the best and I knew my Ducks would get completely thumped when they played them and that was just football still glad we got a shot at em though
Bama is nowhere near as hated as Miami. Yeah people hate Bama because they always win. miami has an absolute garbage dump of a fan base and had a team full of dirt bags.
there will never be another program as hated as Miami in the 80s & 90s. The U was hated everywhere outside of southern FL. from the coaches all the way down to the eqmt manager
I was born in 94 so I can't speak for back then, but I personally have them as one of my favorite ACC teams. I think the turnover chain thing they do is fun and haven't really had any reason to have any issues with them
The only reason to hate Miami now is you are a Cane fan, somebody trying to make a case for the ACC being a football conference (outside of Clemson), or looking at how Miami brings down their SOS.
Definitely recency bias. Kinda like when people say a game last week is "The best college football game ever." It's because it just happened or is still going on
I grew-up and played high school football in Miami-Dade county in the time-period just before the UM's rise to greatness. I've got to agree 100%! Miami at its peak was probably the most hated team in the history of college football, and it wasn't because of its successes on the field, it was because of why they were successful, and because of their off-field antics. They were the first major college to heavily recruit talent from the inner-city ghettos of urban South Florida, and from the rural ghettos in the agricultural areas around Lake Okeechobee. Before the "U" came calling these players' best option was going to one of the successful HSBC's programs like FAMU, Bethune-Cookman, Southern U, or Grambling. This was because most of the major colleges' "acceptance standards" were too high for their admission. MIami, under Howard Schnellenberger was the first school to admit these student athletes and provide them with the remedial classes they required to succeed in school, which greatly upset the powers that be within the college football establishment. This was to the point where Miami was being constantly accused of cheating and always under a cloud of potential NCAA sanctions. Additionally, there was the off-field incidents, like players being caught in night clubs, speeding in fast cars sometimes with weapons, or wearing camouflage to the National Championship, or on-field controversies like running up the score against helpless opponents in major Bowl games or show-boating after making a great tackle or scoring.
There is NO WAY Bama is as hated as Miami was. I’m a Bama alum so I hear the hate. There is no way. Most Auburn fans pulled for Alabama when we played Miami in the Sugar Bowl. Let that sink in. If you think Bama is more hated you weren’t alive yet.
Who remembers " Catholics vs Convicts" coach Johnson told his team if you let these officials here in south bend decide the outcome of the game we're gonna get screwed " and they were royally.
Josh did someone say "TheMiami Dynasty was well received"...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 LOL funny. As a Canefan, born and raised in Miami and fan since 79, it was us and it isn't close. We were hated by everyone. We were called "THUG U", "Convicts" and a "gang of hoodlums that have no respect for the game". I mean It was non-stop. It had zero to do with football. We were arrogant but that wasn't the only reason. Thank you Josh for explaining to those that weren't around.
How could anyone believe that Alabama could EVER be as hated as Miami? When was the Crimson Tide the subject of a "Time" Magazine cover report? Remember the article that was all about Miami football, recommending that the U drop the sport? I remember...
I'd like to know the basis of how they determined "Miami's dynasty was so well received"?? I didn't take any polls back then but the only people I ran across who received that dynasty well was Hurricane fans!!
People forgot how Miami was hated. They got ridiculed so much. I’m old enough to remember the hatred. That program was called thugs, cheaters, criminals, unsportsmanlike, cocky, arrogant, dirty etc. I admired their dynasty, and how they handled criticism. They would kick your butt, and make no apologies for it.
Trust me I'm with you Josh ...i know we hated Miami when i was growing up..i watched that 92 sugar bowl where bama was told they had no chance against Miami..i was 20 yrs old just got married..and my family and friends we watched that game ..and we loved it!!!.. ROLL TIDE!!!..
My father is from Tuscaloosa, AL and that is why I am a Bama fan but my second favorite team in college football is the Miami Hurricanes. Don't ask me me how that happened. No doubt I will pull for Bama against Miami but I will always pull for anybody who plays auburn!!!!!!!!
People must be trolling at this point. Wait until Cristobal start getting some of the players Alabama would usually get from South Florida. You’ll see it happening again.
Does anybody remember the 86 game vs. no1 oklahoma in the Orange Bowl? The hurricane team captains walked to the middle of the field for the coin toss and were absolutely abusing the sooner team captains! Its on UA-cam. Brian Bosworth and fellow captains were just standing there and saying nothing while the canes players were talking to them like dogs! It was all caught on national TV. It was stuff like that that caused so much hate but the canes and there coaches didn't care. Classic college football moment!
Most people don’t hate mediocre programs. When Saban retires and Bama comes back down to earth people will eventually stop hating us too. The only thing left to hate are fanbases stuck in their glory days until people start looking at you like Nebraska or Michigan fans who just don’t know any better.
All this tells me is that many of the people answering the poll weren't alive in the mid-80s through mid-90s and also that immediacy bias is a real thing. A lot of people under 35 only remember Miami from a few of the 30 for 30 shows which certainly romanticized the Hurricanes from that era, they were nationally hated (yes, hated) by a strong majority not just for their massive success, Nouveau riche status, but also for their real and perceived culture at the time (which was sometimes exaggerated and sometimes not, and was certainly used to often reflect negatively on the entire team). Some of it was likely unfair, and some of it was totally justified (Remember the combat fatigues prior to playing Penn State) -- Good Vs. Evil, Catholics Vs. Convicts, Traditional Bama/ND/Texas/Penn State Vs Loud/Obnoxious Miami -- these were all very real storylines. There wasn't much of the grudging respect that Alabama/Saban often gets today.
Josh your analysis is spot on because growing up there an witnessing those dynasty years was like Miami against the world. Alabama is hated because of them winning for so long and so much. I believe that the year 2000 when Miami beat FSU and 2002 Ohio State was an example of this.
The Dynasty wasn't received better but it was a better Dynasty than Bama Dynasty! Why? Miami 83 to 92 played for 6 national titles and won 4! They did with 3 different HC/leaders/different voice! If Howard and Jimmie Johnson stay at Miami 5 to 9 more years, they win 3 to 5 more titles and they are considered the greatest HC in CFB history!
Miami is definitely the most hated of its era for other reasons than success. Alabama is hated just because nobody can beat Bama consistently. Bottom line is you cant compare the two.. Alabama's dominance now destroys Miami's. Alabama is hated because of the blueprint Saban has created and nobody else can come close to duplicating it. In fact, the level of dominance Saban and Alabama have sustained and keep sustaining will never be done again. That's just reality and Idgaf what anybody says. I'm a Bama boy homer but lets just face facts. What we all have witnessed as college fans over the past 14 years from Alabama has been something that has never been seen nor will it ever happen again. Roll Tide!
Exactly.....Alabama is hated with a strong sense of respect. Alabama players are respectful, and dont run their mouths. They let their play speak for itself. Miami was hated because their players acted disgracefully at every opportunity, and didn't respect anyone

Penn State's win over Miami in the 1987 Fiesta Bowl set me on the path to becoming a Penn State alumnus. I started hating them during their game against Oklahoma earlier that season. Few teams matched their levels of obnoxious behavior. Took me a long time to gain any kind of respect for their program.
People are only saying that because the Alabama dynasty is current & Miami's was a long time ago & people get caught up in the moment but as a hurricane fan who lived through that I can tell you Alabama May be disliked but Miami was dispised!!! Are you saying that there are no black players on Alabama's roster? Or could it be that Miami players were arrogant jerks who were an embarrassment to sportsmanship, and Alabama players are the exact opposite?
I’m not sure I could give Alabama credit for ending that dynasty. USC and Florida seemed to be the two teams that took the crown prior to Alabama’s rise
@@adamsanders2270 There were certainly other factors that went into it and you are right other teams took the crown after Alabama beat them that year and were already on the rise before Bama beat them but Miami hadn't lost a game in almost 2 years before Bama beat them in that game and then they never bounced back after that until 2001 of course. If Bama doesn't beat them then they go on to become the only team with 2 undefeated seasons in a row.
@@AK-sq1jl Fair point! I actually forgot all about that game. At that point Miami felt near invincible so a loss like that definitely played a part in their slip. They carried themselves like thugs that just punch you out and stole your trophy. As dominate as they kinda were for awhile... They couldn't have been more different than Alabama. The Alabama Dynasty is just a finely tuned, well oiled, and professional machine. Miami was a dynasty of bad boys. lol
I was only around for the very end of Miami, but I 100% agree with you. Miami was viewed as thugs and criminals, the constant NCAA investigations didn't help that image at all. Alabama is hated for just the reason you said, they always win. I do think it made people worried for a moment there when it looked like ever NC will only ever be Bama or Clemson, but luckily Clemson has taken a step back. Maybe this will be the year my Kansas Jayhawks take it all ROCK CHALK! (kidding, Kansas is a good 1,000,000 years away from competing for a football NC)
Remember. "Miami talks & Bama walks".....agree Miami was far more hated With Alabama it's jealousy no doubt. People don't remember how bad the years between Bear Bryant & Coach Saban were Roll Tide
Miami’s dynasty was completely built around intimidation and humiliating their opponents. When the NCAA finally passed the taunting and excessive celebration rules, Miami died. The importance of the1992 NCG can’t be overstated. Alabama completely flipped the script on them and it was a beautiful thing to watch. I will never forget the mugging of Lamar Thomas in that game.
As a bama fan growing up as a kid I always heard people say stuff about Miami how they can’t stand them back then . Man just imagine if Miami was like bama today they would be the 2 most hated teams. People hate Alabama like you said because of football I mean it’s not our fault Saban made the program even better than what it was before . If any of you live in Alabama like me , since I moved to Tuscaloosa , it had grown so much to the point you can’t recognize Tuscaloosa, the whole state has changed Saban made it happen , people from Cali , New York , Virginia other countries move here so much because they love our football team. The dynasty is real
Invented Swag! The scary thing is I believe the U is back because they have finally decided to take football seriously again at the very top of the foot chain at the University. They hated the negative publicity. Ran Jimmy out of school because Nationally the school was so hated. Jimmy would whip your azz and brag about it.
The reason I have hated Miami for decades was not their records, victories nor Coaches... it was the "Thus"! There was no class. There was no character. There was no sportsmanship. I would never allow my child to play for any program that had the core lack of values that Miami had. Saban at the very least believes in Sportsmanship, Good Attitude, Team not Individual play, Doing the Right Things to get What you want, etc. The polls only reflect the lack of experiencing Miami's lack of character. I grew up watching both teams' Dynasties... and I agree 100% with you! One dynasty is well known and the other is a memory. Memories fade and jealously is strong in the present. Twenty years from now... your poll will seem hilarious.
White America saw what was wrong with college football with Miami young black kids taunting celebrating and literally destroying top 5 teams week in week out Miami We’re turning top 5 teams into jokes and let them line about it
Yeah...agree with you this time...LOL. I am a huge Miami fan and have been since 1980. Nobody hated any team more than Miami because we wouldn't just beat you. We would embarrass you and take pleasure in it. The entire rule book for modern football was based on what Miami would do to embarrass teams.
As a guy in his 40s I can back you up, the 1988 Miami vs Notre Dame game wasn't called Catholics vs Convicts for nothing. I hated Miami, so many of us hated Miami, when Penn St beat Miami in 87 so many people were happy, including a lot of the press. I hated the Cowboys even more because they hired Jimmie Johnson. To me people seem more tired of Alabama winning than hate them.
Hell CFB Post Season Bowl Games alone and the BCS. *And BAMA still managed to get in and give the system that was clearly targeted against them the finger*
As a Hurricane fan of over 30 yrs that question is one of the most idiotic ones I’ve ever read. Miami was easily the most hated program in college football history. Sports Illustrated wrote an article saying the program should be shut down. How dare this small private school from S Fla beat the brakes off the blue bloods of college football like OU, Nebraska, & especially Notre Dame. The dancing & the thugging & bugging. They’d kick your ass in the parking lot, on the field, & told u about it the whole time. And there was nothing u could do about it. It’s all about the U!
Florida Gators fan here gotta say as much as I hate to admit it, Alabama head coach Nick Saban is the greatest college football coach of all time. Fan of him or not we all have to respect him
Josh Pate is right & the people who answered Miami are wrong. The NCAA came up with rules to limit Miami. People hate Bama because they consistently win, people hated Miami because they won and rubbed it in your face constantly. BTW, I respect both programs.
Miami was the arrogant, shades wearing, a smug confidence, but they were that good to have that attitude. The hate Miami received was not just football, just like J Pate State was explaining. It was the attitudes of the players like Ray Lewis, Warren Sapp, Michael Irving, Lamar Thomas (Teague's greatest play!) Michael Barrow, Vinny Testaverde, Eddie Brown, Bernie Kosar, Dewayne "The Rock" Johnson, all of these guys talked alot of smack. Even Jimmy Johnson and his aqua vulva sprayed hair talked smack, Dennis Erickson talked smack. They didn't call the Notre Dame vs Miami game Catholics vs Convicts for nothing. But if your only measuring these teams hated for their dominance, then that's not even a care or give a flip. Bama fans, and players welcome that kind of hate. That is good hate, the type of hate that will always make Bama stronger and stronger. See the difference is the fact Miami was a disrespectful group of players that didn't care about giving you respect, no love, and no give a 💩's. They would talk smack to the opposing teams during warm-ups and wouldn't be warming up themselves, but they were good! And even though Miami was smug like that, no one could stop em to force that humility to sink in. But like Josh Pate State said about the 1993 Sugar Bowl against Bama. Bama humbled their butts. Bama made them so humble that it took almost another decade for them to get back to playing for a title. Alabama, theoretically you could say has been a dynasty since 1925. I mean no other program has done what this program has done. I don't care if it's Notre Dame, I don't care if it's Michigan, USC, Nebraska, Ohio St, Penn St, Texas, Florida St, or whomever. Alabama has been the more consistent team over this 97 year run. Before Saban is done at Bama, he will have the program #1 in overall wins (#1 Michigan 976 wins, Bama and Ohio St tied #2 with 942 wins) and will be very close to most draft picks, 1st round draft picks, and All Americans. And maybe Heisman trophy winners. Already has the most national titles, even if you take away 3 or 4 of em. They are so far ahead in Bowl appearances and Bowl wins that I don't think no one will ever catch em. But the real difference is the fact that Alabama was called dumb illiterate white boys during the early 20's, until they beat a Washington team in the Rose Bowl to win their 1st national title. That was a win for the entire southern US. On the train ride from Pasadena to Mobile. People in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi turned up all along that train route with banners, kids screaming, people celebrating that win. The south was respected from that point on. Look at 1934, Frank Thomas a Notre Dame grad, teammate of the Gipper , and Rockne player. Took a real good team with some great players , and one particular player that would eventually became one of the best ever. Bear Bryant, and Alabama even helped change the way the south, not just Alabama, but the south as a whole, think about segregation, and the need to let the African Americans play the game without the hate, thanks to USC and Sam Cunningham in Birmingham on a September night in 1970. See , Alabama is hated , but they're hated because they are Bama. Bama has class and respect, then gives that respect back to their opponents. So that is the difference between these two programs dynasties. And we all can see who is still dominating, and it dosnet look like it's ever going to end lol.
@@jaycie3558 Thanks! When you have facts to back up an idea or opinion. It forces the people that disagree to humble themselves. You know, just like Bama seems to do to their opponents lol. I’m born and raised in Miami and went to the University of Miami. Sadly, it’s still Miami by a wide margin. I think a lot of programs are still butt hurt of the whoopings we gave them 20 years ago. We’re not where we once were but I truly believe we’ll get there soon. People still fear the idea/prospect of Miami being great again because the talent is there in our backyard . Sadly, our athletic department and bad coaching hires since Coker ruined a lot of relationships locally. Mario will get us there . As for Bama, I think people hate them because this run has gone on for more at least 12 years whereas Miami’s incredible run lasted for about 9 years in 80s to early 90s and then briefly in early 2000s. And that’s the truth . Bama keeps poaching talent and winning chips and first round choices . Tbey have dominated the SEC and it will be that way until Nick retires which can’t come soon enough . That’s why people chose Bama as most hated . They win all the time and their “run” has gone on for a LONG time .
I think the mistake Josh made was expecting people to vote based on what people thought at the time, as opposed to right now. Josh may have asked the question well "More hated dynasty" but people obviously took it as "which do YOU hate more?"

Miami definently. We had to end the rivalry with them because it was getting too heated. Luckly ND went out with a W 29-20
It’s Miami by far. There’s still hate today for Miami and Miami hasn’t been good for going on 20 years now
That’s really the biggest sign. When we played LSU, Clemson, and Bama, those fans hated us as if we’ve been going back and forth for years. It was the strangest thing. Those teams have been winning championships, we shouldn’t even be on their radar. Strangest victim/superiority complex I’ve ever seen.
Not today
@@matthewlaird4009 I can confirm as a buckeyes fan
Bama is nowhere near as hated as Miami. Yeah people hate Bama because they always win. miami has an absolute garbage dump of a fan base and had a team full of dirt bags.
there will never be another program as hated as Miami in the 80s & 90s. The U was hated everywhere outside of southern FL. from the coaches all the way down to the eqmt manager
As a die hard cane without a doubt we were hated and still are hated more than any other college team hands down
....back then sure....not now though
I was born in 94 so I can't speak for back then, but I personally have them as one of my favorite ACC teams. I think the turnover chain thing they do is fun and haven't really had any reason to have any issues with them
Ya before 92, and you should still be but there's the ACC strength and that damn Clemson.
The only reason to hate Miami now is you are a Cane fan, somebody trying to make a case for the ACC being a football conference (outside of Clemson), or looking at how Miami brings down their SOS.
"die hard cane" . . . must be very lonely.
Who remembers " Catholics vs Convicts" coach Johnson told his team if you let these officials here in south bend decide the outcome of the game we're gonna get screwed " and they were royally.
they def did not get screwed. yes it was a bad call but the same thing happened to ND
Josh did someone say "TheMiami Dynasty was well received"...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LOL funny.
It’s Miami. Reason being, the ncaa changed rules because of Miami😂😂😂
He's absolutely right. Miami was despised and hated far more than Alabama is today.
I'd like to know the basis of how they determined "Miami's dynasty was so well received"?? I didn't take any polls back then but the only people I ran across who received that dynasty well was Hurricane fans!!
As a sooner fan,. 80s hurricanes was Oklahoma's Achilles heel,.
They came up with rules for Miami
The people saying Alabama were not around during Miami’s run. Not really a good comparison for people under 25.
It's a CANE thang , you'd never understand !

Miami fan since 79 and from Miami. We were absolutely the most hated team everywhere we went. You Poll is full of kiddos
I enjoyed watching Penn State and Alabama beat Miami in the NCG. I’m a Gator fan too
Penn State turned out to ran the dirtiest guy in college history Paterno.
Canes were either loved or hated but had a high sky ratings .
Did the tweet confuse Nebraska and Miami?
See what happen again? Cristobal out recruited everyone by a mile in the Pac 12 and never even sniffed the Playoff

Anybody remember the “Convicts vs Catholics t-shirts? You are exactly right Josh! 💯
I became an Alabama fan seeing them Beat Miami for the National Championship in 1992. Roll Tide.
After um dehorned Texas in the Cotton bowl college football threw away the rule book and wrote another one geared towards stopping Miami.
246 yds in penalties and still won by around 40
People still hate us because of the past teams. But I welcome the hate because its really what separates us from the other good ole boy programs.

I'm not a Miami fan but they got completely screwed out of 2 nattys in the early 2000s.
I’m not old enough to remember any bit of the Miami dynasty but every time I think of it I think of the Catholics vs Convicts t-shirt
Miami is still despise and hated because 80s and 90s teams. Youngsters wouldn’t no anything about that, well some of them.
My stepdad will not say the name Miami hurricanes without the word convict in the sentence! That should tell u a lot!
They made rules that stand today because of miami
I bet most of the people who picked Miami never knew how 2 Live Crew and Luther Cambell paid those players in the 80s and 90s.
Josh your analysis is spot on because growing up there an witnessing those dynasty years was like Miami against the world. Alabama is hated because of them winning for so long and so much. I believe that the year 2000 when Miami beat FSU and 2002 Ohio State was an example of this.
I don’t hate Miami, Florida is another story
Miami was more hated

I 100 percent agree with what was just reported that Miami is the most hated dynasty.
Miami’s dynasty was completely built around intimidation and humiliating their opponents. When the NCAA finally passed the taunting and excessive celebration rules, Miami died. The importance of the1992 NCG can’t be overstated. Alabama completely flipped the script on them and it was
a beautiful thing to watch. I will never forget the mugging of Lamar Thomas in that game.

Miami was just villainous. Period.

100 % right Josh!
The explanation of the results is simply really; people are prisoners of the moment.
@@whodat4lyfekris Please keep in context of the discussion. I never said now. I clearly said they would now didn't I? and they did.
Then again you have to think about it it was the 1980s I can see why Miami was hated socially 😂
They created PENALTIES for MIAMI
The one pushback I'd have against you, Josh, is that people didn't try to restructure the sport in attempt to end the Miami dynasty.
Hell CFB Post Season Bowl Games alone and the BCS. *And BAMA still managed to get in and give the system that was clearly targeted against them the finger*
I don't vknow about that one. The NCAA changed a lot of rules that were directly meant to affect Miami.
Alabama did plenty about it in 92'. Bama smacked their asses so hard they were irrelevant for a decade afterwards.
@@darthsaban8665 haha and we beat y’all in 89 and!
Those miami teams had a "killer" mentality.
Not in 92.
That’s all about to change. Standby… 😎
3:10 FACTS Josh they really hate their team...they just won't admit it sadly.
Holy shit lol well fucking said💯
@@jaycie3558 Thanks! When you have facts to back up an idea or opinion. It forces the people that disagree to humble themselves. You know, just like Bama seems to do to their opponents lol. Even if Miami had beaten Nebraska, Penn St went 12-0 and would have certainly claimed the title. Alot of people think they were the best team in CFB in 94' anyway. Alabama flat out ended Miami's dynasty in its tracks in 92'
"Aqua vulva" just made me spit out my oatmeal, haha. Well done.
People love Miami now since it’s over and you can reflect on all the great NFL players they had, as where Saban is still going & people still have to deal with it. In 10-20 years people will look at Bama differently and just appreciate greatness
The Canes still to this day have Haters up the ass tho cause any little thing they do MFs got something to say about it but definitely back when they were at their peak it was easily the most hated Team and program in College football history and even then still to this day they get shit on by haters lol.
My dad STILL hates Miami 🤣
I’m 40 and I barely remember the Miami Dynasty…. Just the early 90’s when it was winding down.
@@Kendo144k yea the early 90’s…. They won their last title in 91’ in the 90’s. Then Nebraska and FSU, Florida kinda took over.
The celebration rules were changed because of Miami.
Go back and watch the 91 cotton bowl. That game showed why the nation hated them.
I think the mistake Josh made was expecting people to vote based on what people thought at the time, as opposed to right now. Josh may have asked the question well "More hated dynasty" but people obviously took it as "which do YOU hate more?"
While I agree with you, I 100% expected those poll results. Your twitter audience is young and has no clue what was going on back then. They just know they hate bama with a white hot intensity now.
People should do their research, start by googling "catholics vs convicts" and tell me Bama is more hated than Miami was. They literally attacked those young men in the media (The U). Bama is the greater dynasty though. Roll Tide!!!
i dont hate bama. i'm just envious
Catholics vs Convicts sums it up
The Miami dynasty was not well received, they just didn't play in the social media era. Would love to see the reaction on Twitter to some of the antics of those 80s Miami teams 🤣
Miami dynasty well received???🤣🤣🤣😂😂Are you kidding me? The only people who didn't hate Miami were Miami fans. I couldn't stand Miami. A lot of the taunting rules came from things that Miami would do. I cannot stand Penn State and I even rooted for them to beat Miami back then. These two programs are completely opposite.
Only thing that I can think would make Bama more hated is that the success Saban has had there was more sustained. Miami’s reign was in a couple short spurts.
