I was going through one of the worst depressive episodes of my life when I came across your channel. Your art is cheery, bright, and uplifting. You are kind and hilarious and open about your mental health - it's honestly refreshing to see. Thanks for sharing your life and your work - you do so much and work hard, but it doesn't go unnoticed!
I'm in a coffee house after a little stressful day. I'm sipping my latte and was looking for a cozy video to watch when your beautiful video popped up! 🎉 Thank you for making my day a little better 💛
as i start learning to draw myself, i understand how hard drawing and painting is. Cheyenne barton's draw with me is always my go-to video whenever i want to draw or i fed up with the drawing. you are the best, girl~
I'd never watched (more like heard) a draw with me while actually drawing but today i was "watching" my watch later playlist while doing a drawing for class and this video came on, and i just have to say that it was so nice! I love your drawing style and voice (and also your decor), everything is so light and pleasant. Thanks for being such an inspiration 💛
I’d love to learn how to draw like this. Have you ever thought of making a step by step draw with me video? I’d love to learn the basics 💛 thanks for being an inspiration Cheyenne
Something my teacher always say is you have to learn to draw properly and traditionally before you can draw in this looser simpler style. As someone who draws like this I think its very much true. Styles like this are something you find along the way and you analyze art and how other people draw and translate it into your own voice
@@CheerUp2 i think she wanted a draw with me video because she wants to know how to use procreate from an entertaining producer. also, she may know how to draw realistically, you never know. 😊
I hate ads, I usually skip through it or exit the video completely, however I really appreciate how informative and respectful it was. Plus I’ve been using clue for yearsss, when I first got my period, and it’s extremely helpful. You’ve gained a subscriber!
Double tapping and pinching the paper to zoom... girl you’re not alone! 😂 when I did inktober traditionally I struggled with not doing that hahaha... procreate is a wonderful program 💖
I got my first iPad on my birthday (feb 4), and I used to use the Huion tablet for digital illustration. That being said, I recently started using procreate, the main reason I even got the iPad- basically, I have been searching for a lot of tip videos, and yours came up on my home feed as a recommendation, and I’m so so so soooooo happy, bc you explained & demonstrated things in such a fun and easy way . Just assgghhh thank you!
Hope you, Connor & Sophie have settled into your new place without too much difficulty. Sending my love ❤️ Also, Clue is great. Def would also recommend.
Your art is so cute and beautiful, it's my favourite type. Just checked out your shop and saw that you've tried to make your products as sustainable as possible... So much appreciation and respect for you
Okay so I watched your moving videos earlier, and I've just watched this video, and I can't get enough! Your voice is so soothing and your artwork is wonderful. What did I do to deserve stumbling across your channel today? Keep being a lovely human :)
Cheyenne!!! I have followed you on twitter for so long and had no idea you had a youtube channel! You are one of my favorite artists and in the midst of trying to teach myself the art of stick making (which is much harder than I expected), I stumbled across your channel. I can not wait to binge the rest of your video, take care!
Just FYI ( anyone wanting to use this ) you can use Procreate without a pencil, the on,y difference is you can add pressure. So you’ll have to do more shading with different types of brushes. I’ve been using it without a pencil and still produce sellable content. But a pencil is definitely a plus.
Heeey! Im in love with your videos! Im from Brazil and already watched sooooo many of them! Im also an illustrator and a singer, so im really happy to find someone like u on youtube
Yeees, loving this. So satisfying watching you draw, and super interesting to see how you use ProCreate! Even though ProCreate isn't that complicated, I always learn new things from seeing other using it. Like grouping your fave brushes. 🙃Absolutely didn't know that was a thing, so thank you for that, hehe!
seen this video years ago and tonight I spent 10 minutes looking for your channel cause I couldn't remember the name. So I finally subscribed because I love your videos.
I also noticed when you resize things in procreate, they turn fuzzy :/ I usually use the Narinder pencil for outline but after watching your video, I'll I am considering to use and test the technical pencil too since sometimes I want my drawing to have a more pencil effect when using procreate. And your art is so cute! I also like the overall look of the stickers!
This was so helpful and soo cute! You SHOULD get fancy teacups! Lots at many thrift stores. I love to do it once a month in the morning. I make a pot of my favourite tea and work on an art project to my favourite music and drink out of the beautiful cup (and I made a pot so I still get to drink the "bucket -worth of tea ;) ). Always makes me feel fancy
I can't believe how clean your sketches are! Thanks for making this video, I always love watching other people use procreate to help inspire me to try new things myself :)
I just discovered your channel yesterday and I cant stop. I started a bullet journal because of these too! thank you for unknowingly boosting my motivation and motivating me to be more productive and organized in my creative life :)
9:42 idk if anyone needs this info but when you drag and drop colors in procreate, before letting go of the color but while still holding your finger down you can slide your finger left or right to adjust how much the color bleeds. This is good if you drew your shape using a textured brush since Procreate may find an opening in the line and go out with the color. You just lower the threshold and it won’t be so aggressive in trying to find openings.
when you resize and move things you can actually lock it so that it doesn’t get fuzzy, there’s a button at the bottom next to freeform, i don’t remember what it’s called but it’s on the right of freeform and that locks it so that it doesn’t move
one time after not sleeping at all because of an arts project i had to draw in school as well for another subject, my mind was so slow and i was just so out of it that i was double tapping the paper to erase what i did and i probably did it for three minutes and my mind finally processed it and i looked around and luckily no one saw or noticed me. procreate’s effect after using it for so many hours lol :D
Another good drawing and design app is Concepts. I love that you can go in at any time and alter/remove any individual line...handy when you change your mind about how something should look!
I loved this video!! Thanks for showing us how you draw using procreate :) I have the app but I haven't used it much bc I'm so intimidated by all the functions ahHh
Suuuuch amazing and satisfying content you're putting out Cheyenne, this was so nice to watch. Everything in your videos is so well curated and cute and now I neeEeEd to use procreate even though I'm terrible at illustrating........ ♥
When you color drop in procreate, you can hold the color drop and a bar should appear at the top to show the opacity that the drop is at. you can drag is left to right depending on how much you are color dropping in the specific lined area if your linework wasnt 100% spot on.
hi i’m new to procreate and had a couple questions! I would really appreciate it if you responded💗💗 1. how do you color something in with your mono line pen without it covering the outline? I always see people do this and I keep zooming way in so I can color right on the edge and it takes forever! 2. how do you erase the sketch marks after? 3. how do you suggest shading things like skin? I’ve been having trouble And also what’s your shop called I would love to check it out! Hope you see this, I love your videos by the way💗💗
Hi Caity! Sorry I’m not Cheyenne, but I can answer your questions! Number one: to fill in your mono line outline, first make sure that there aren’t any areas where your lines don’t completely connect. If your shape is closed, then simply use the color wheel to select your desired color, then in the top right corner, you will see a circle with said color. Drag your finger from that circle, and let go over your desired area. This should fill up the empty space. Secondly, if you want to be able to get rid of/hide your sketch after your drawing is completed, make sure that you put it on a separate layer from the rest of your line art, color, shading, etc. That way when your drawing it done, simply go into your layers, and uncheck our sketch layer to hide it. Thirdly, when shading skin, while this is common between beginners, try not use the airbrush tool. Yes, it may be appropriate for certain situations, but I would recommend more textured brushes, just because if used too often, the airbrush tool tends to fuzz your artwork and make it boring and just overall amateur looking. For example, nikko roll brush. If you use the Apple Pencil, you can control the opacity and use it to create some interesting shading. And as for her website, it’s in the description. Hoped this helps, feel free to ask about anything else you might need. Good luck on your art!
i'm binging all ur old videos rn and now i have a Very random question: as someone who doesn't have a sticker shop or anything similar, but does have a macbook already, is the ipad/apple pencil combo worth it? i'm so intrigued by them and i think it would be really cool to do a digital bullet journal and maybe even just digital drawing on procreate, but idk if it's worth the cost when i'm not actively using it for work. do you have thoughts/opinions/advice?? and sorry i know this is an oldie but i love all your videos sm 💓thanks in advance, friend!!
