"Do you do the repairs after a cut out?" Some variation of that question would probably rank in the top ten for questions asked in the comments on the channel. I don't normally record much repair work but I did on this one so I figured I'd share it.
Whether we do repairs and how much work is done is almost totally up to the property owner. It also depends somewhat on what my schedule will allow. in the height of the season it is rare that we do much more than a quick patch to cover any holes because we are too busy with cut outs to be doing a job that any handy man can do. As bee removals slow down I'll start incorporating more of other work into the jobs to help keep income within an acceptable range.
In this home the big window of the affected room faced south and caught a lot of sun through the day. That room hadn't been painted in twenty years so the back walls were much lighter colored than front walls from the sun bleaching them. Even the art work that hung on the walls was badly faded from the sun. For that reason we had to paint the whole room. I wish I'd taken pictures of the photographs they had hanging on the walls. The owner was at one point an Arachnologist (someone who studies spiders) so the wall art consisted of photographs of unique spiders.

She has a lovely home, and I appreciate that you did the job right getting everything back in tip-top shape.
I was thinking that too.
The inside's a bit 60s/70s... but the outside is gorgeous.
That's some fine customer service there fellas! A one-stop shop.
WOW>>>>>5 stars for the professionals! clap , clap!!
Videos like this, when you show more of the repair process, is a nice change of pace. Well done Randy!
When a beekeeper says "yuk" you know it's bad.
"Cleaning out the pipe on a camper" man, he has a way with words lol painting pictures with that sentence 😂 I can smell it from here!
Also, "honey infusion" 😂
I’m impressed you don’t just clear bees and walk away. I hope you charge an arm and an a leg. You two are worth it.
As mom and I were watching this video last night on the big screen at home, she made the comment, " I thought the Dirt Dobber had a bee channel, I did not know his channel was a home improvement channel, how long has he had that? " Then, at the end of the video she said, " he sure can cut a straight line on that molding, do you think he and his partner Sheep could paint the inside of my house?" So brother, if you and Sheep are interested in a painting the interior of mom's house, no bees involved so there is no chance of stings, could you give her a call. By the way, great repair job. God's peace.
0:01 That was “welcome to the 628DirtRooster channel where hobby bee-keeping is a way. Of. Life.” in bird
Would have been so much cooler if they taught the parrot that!
I'm always amazed that not only do you have the skills to remove the bees but you can repair the damage left behind. Great work Pete and Randy!
Love watching your videos, not just for the bees, I love how you're so appreciative of nature. Showing the cockatiel at the start and the huge beautiful cricket at the end are magical. I adore the bumblebees too, such classic bees, so gentle.
It's a nice house. Too bad that there were so many openings for the bees.
I can understand why you (and the competition) had so much trouble locating the colony.
I'd never seen you guys doing finish work before. You do a nice job.
I like the name of the paint. (13:05) Very appropriate.
Wow. Pretty faces, beekeepers AND they can do finish work! Impressive work gentlemen! On top of that - great comedy act!! Take it on the road!!
Well done with the removal and the fix up/painting etc. A very charming home.
First video I've seen of you guys restoring the damage - thanks!
DANG! Y'all do really nice work!
And the bumblebees are so chill... 😁👍
Good work doing a nice job for a little old lady.
Posted this on my Brothers Bees FB page. Not enough people realize the damage if a hive is killed or leaves. thanks for the video. Keep them coming.

I don't think you have any idea just how mind boggling the work you do (& so professionally & so caringly) is to me! You do impressive 💪 👏 difficult jobs with joy ! A real treat to watch💕💕💕🌟🌟🌟
I thought that 'hopper at the end was an ornament. .& then it moved! I about jumped outta my skin. 🤤😂😂
what was that thing? I'm from the north....we don't have bugs like that up here!
The name of the paint was honey infusion 😂😂😂
Honey Infusion is the best paint to lure more bees to make honey.
That locus is huge and contrast !
That hive was a mess. Y'all did a stellar job taking care of everything. It looks like it never even happened.
Mr. Rooster, I admire the fact that you do the whole job and don't leave a gaping hole for another contractor to come in and repair and paint. Bless you.
Love the drywall and paint work.
Beautiful repair work! As a Real Estate professional during my working life I saw more than my share of repair work and yours exceeded the quality I saw in 99% of jobs. Your skills and more importantly your ethical commitment to true professionalism shows in everything you do, beekeeping and home repair are but two examples I'm sure.
Thanks so much William.
One useful tip for latex primer or paint is that it can be 'speed dried' using a heat gun or even hair dryer, for cases where you still have saturated drywall that you don't want to remove, so the primer film can cure quickly before the honey (or whatever you're dealing with) can penetrate it before it's dry. Can be useful depending on how fast it's bleeding through.
I love when you two work together. It's always a hoot. You are like Laurel and hardy .
bless yall for taking such care and respect for that ladies house!!
That bird in the intro needed, "welcome to the 628 Dirt Rooster channel" subtitles.
You guys did a great job! You definitely left it better than you found it.
That lubber grasshopper at the end was majestic.
Who's on branch duty? That storm wasn't playing....
Wow such high integrity and respect for your customer. Great video.
I love that you do the whole job and RIGHT! You take pride in your work and it shows! 👍🏼🇺🇸
Wow that was one huge grass hopper. Nice work gentlemen
Yall earned every penny on that BUT yall should've charged cost PLUS having had to overhaul the whole room too. I used to paint with a cousin years ago. He used to re-do lo-rent housing projects and was right good at it. He moved here and started painting and I started helping. I rolled and he cut in. We were priming a downstairs condo and had a squirrel cage fan blowing in fresh air but was using Kilz years ago that still had the WHAM to it. He was always telling me to go outside and get some fresh air. I was leaning over a counter and priming where the refrigerator had been slid out of and he about had to come retrieve me. I wobbled out and lay down in the yard for a while. That was MEAN stuff. So I know where you're coming from sometime. Just not with the bees. Go Eat Bacon! and BUNCHES of it!
When his phone went off at 15:09, I instinctively looked for my wife's phone. That's the ringtone that I have set for my mother-in-law.😂

Haaa!!
Beautiful home. Amazing work you did for that lady.
I'm so thankful for guys like you ...
Peter does great work.....has a real eye for repair.....you provided a great result following that mess...
Its amazing how much fun you have while being stung. Nice work on the repairs!
BEAUTIFUL JOB GUYS! W0W ~ Have Never seen so many Bumble Bees before. Cool!
That was a grand job you and Pete did DirtRooster. With plenty of chuckling. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed it no end. See you soon.
Great video, glad to finally see the restoration and completed work after you tore it out. Great job guys!
Fine job on the repairs sir, (trim carpentry and painting got me through college) I start my bees in spring this year (2020) love your videos.
That sad intro, Rooster, What happened? LOL Guess that little one has a limited vocabulary.
I've just about watched all your older videos and I find it fascinating how such tiny creatures could create such beauty. Nature is truly good. Thanks for sharing.
Doesn't look like fun at all and yet you guys are goofing w each other...where were you guys when I was teaching folks how to dig holes and sleep in them (in shifts)... you guys have the correct attitude for US Army .... ;^)
You should watch Filth British videos on cleaning up empty council houses. The cleaners attitudes are solid gold.
Awesome job my brother in Christ. Lotsa hard work. Where hive way beekeeping, construction, painting etc etc is a way of life!!!
Neuropathy is good to have for this job. Can’t feel it and a few stings later it makes it better. My arthritis as well.
Hello from Minneapolis Minnesota...love your vids and your bravery...ive watched many of your vids
Great job. Perfect example of why beekeepers should do this kind of job instead of random people who just kill the bees and leave a mess.
Glad you did her right and took care of all that mess.
That looked like a first class mess to remove and the grasshopper at the end of the video is an impressive looking Lubber
ABSOLUTELY beautiful job!!!
You guys did a great job fixing that mess!!
Put back looked very nice.
You guys worked on that house as if it was your own! Well done!
Next time try using a little sheet rock mud thined down to use like paint. That usually matches pretty good
Nice job fellas.
Wow, this one was a tough one. Some nasty surprises in the ceiling. Poor lady just wants some peace.
wowww, you really fixed her house up good. i always thought you did this as a hobbyist, and took the bees and honey as payment, but this looks like it was quite a serious job. do you guys have an actual bee removal business where you get paid?
this definitely looks like real professional work done. good job boys!
Dirt Rooster you should start trimming out the repair with bullnose or trim and a SET OF HINGES so next time you can get em out lickity split 😂😂😂
Looks great Rooster 🐓. Be safe out there and GOD BLESS you and your family brother Amen 🙏.
According to a woman I met recently. Not real honey if it doesn't have wax and bee parts in it. That must be the cream of the crop.
Job well done! I like Pete’s calk finishing tool, his finger!
Classic tools. They always work. 👍🏻
Nice job Pete and Randy.
Pete is my favorite. Y'all work great together
You guys did a great job!
How you got it looking pristeen again after all that honey is an excellant piece of craftsmanship😍😘 bet she was pleased to see the back of those bees too
Been wondering about the bumble nest.
Nicely furnished house she has.
Hello sir
Red here in quitman tx

Great job done and enjoyed the video very much.
Excellent job ,Mr. Ed taught you well......….LOL
Nice work guys, Didn't know you did the finish work as well. I always figured you got the rock back up and let the finishing guys wrap it up.
Looks great! Hope you get a fair price for such nice work.
I love watching your videos, your so entertaining
Wow. Just out of curiosity, do you get paid for all the amazing hard work you do on these homes? The amount of work effort and integrity you put into these home repairs is amazing and worth a lot of money.
Nice job!
Lovely video!! Can we have more bumble bee vids? I thoroughly enjoy watching your work! Love from a Brit in Vegas! 💕🐝
Cool 👍🐝 😀❤️
This looked like a very tough job.
Getting the honey stains to quit bleeding through the primer and paint took a good while. Other than that it wasn't too bad.
That's so awesome the bumblebees stayed around
U guys r doing a wonderful job 👏🙌
Well done!
Great job again like always
Great job on the repair of the room. I enjoyed the video.
Great job.
Jackhammer stingers at the end there can be playing like that almost scared me on to the floor of my semi
Great work
Ha! Honey 🍯 infusión.... 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 I think I quite liked that color 🙌🏽
Did you think that mites might have killed the hive? Like you were never there! You guys are good later bee men! 😎💨
Well done
ohhh i remember those giant grasshoppers from living in Miami. I HATE THEM!!! gives me the creeps!!! Dad used to catch them by the back knee joints and slam them into the sidewalk.
How long did it take to teach the bird "Welcome to Dirt Rooster"! That's fantastic :-)
That 'hopper would make good bass bait!
Hi Mr. DirtRooster, at the end of the video you showed some bumble bees, I realize they do have value in the ecosystem, but do they have any value from a commercial standpoint like honeybees that produce honey? Re: this video; good job clearing out those bees and fixing up the house after the removal. Ya'll do top notch work! Finally, great googly-moo on the grasshopper! That thing was so big, does anything actually eat those things? I mean, it looks like it could whip an average bird in a fair fight.
I've seen where the bumble bee can bee used in a greenhouse for pollination. Honey bees will fly to the roof or wall and die trying to get out. Bumble bees are native pollinators in the US.. Honey bees are not native to the US, they were imported.
I'm starting to like this channel I'm a pest tech and I come across alot of these bees and their honey lol
Good Job!
