Your reaction to that first bite said it all. I'm 72 years old. I lost my wife of 42 years three years ago. I'm alone now. No one of any real consequence to answer to. I've survived six heart attacks and cancer. I have severe spinal stenosis. Not worth much these days but I'll not just lie down and die. I love the woods. When the depression gets so bad that my thoughts turn dark I head to the woods. If the pain is so bad that I can't go to the woods I just pitch my tarp in my front yard and do my gear testing there. After all I want to be sure it works before I get it to the woods. Good to see something other than a young guy running around in the bush. The neighbors are used to seeing "that wierd old Cherokee" camping in his yard and the cool things i can do with a tarp or tin cans etc. The kids love it. I even have a mini me. No relation but his grandfathers are gone and he adopted me. When i do get to doing my frog impression (croak) some of the knowledge will live on in him and those that he will teach some day.
I like all your videos, making stuff, doing ‘bushcraft’, travelling about - and the motorcycling! All good as far as I’m concerned, and always gets a thumbs up. Thank you. Les
Wow - what a view for breakfast! I love all of your videos, the travel, the bushcraft and the cooking… I also enjoy your sense of humour 😂😉, so please don’t feel like you have to change anything 😁
Variety is the spice of life Richard. Your job gives you unique opportunities to widen the horizons of the regular trekking and bushcraft videos genre. More of the same please
Thanks for bringing us along! The rainbow shots were truly amazing and the wind looked like it was making the climb and descending dicey at best. Cheers and safe travels
Richard I always enjoy going along on your adventures. It's like you said, I'll never get there so it's nice to get an up close and personal look at it all!
Ah… but you ARE brilliant, Mr O 😊 Please say “Hi” to Larry the Lobster when you see him next - and by the way; we were so happy to see you on the mountain but we’re quite sad that you wouldn’t let us have a photo with you 😢 😂😂😂
You deserve SOOOO many more followers! Another great video and we really enjoy your sense of humour. Please continue to include your travels on your channel - they never come across as arrogant, but as a visitor appreciating the local vistas.
👍👍👍 Table Mountain .. as any resident in the area can tell you, "Four Seasons in a Day" .. glad that you did not get blown away 😁. Nice .. the Trangia Set does well in wind and hot chicken livers .. yum!
An amazing place to eat offal 😉 - joking aside - lovely vid, I, for one, totally enjoy your travelogues - hope the clicks go up and keep the vids coming! 🎉
What an amazing shot of you climbing down the ladder. Can't imagine how you got that in that wind. I certainly appreciate the places you go to as I'd never be able to afford to go myself. Keep them up.
Great video, Richard. I love the scenery. You let me see these beautiful areas that otherwise, I would never see. I'm glad you came across some of your biggest fans on that rock. Don't let that level of fame go to your head. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I think it's great to be able to see these places, and what a place that was! Nearly as impressive as your cooking skills there... Another very enjoyable video. All the best, Pete.
Hey, Richard. Great to see you in my neck of the woods. Lion's Head is always special, although you really did choose a particularly windy day - and that's saying something for Cape Town! If you'd like to explore some lesser known, spectacular Table Mountain routes next time you visit, give me a shout.
Tut tut tut Richard, the selfie is the modern equivalent of autograph hunting. It takes so very little to simply stand beside someone for a few seconds and make their day. Those people are subscriber's remember and they and other's can drop you like a hot stone at any moment. Regards from Dublin and have a change of heart.
If you thought that was real then you are an idiot. I suggest you watch some humorous channels and attain some understanding of comedy. 2000 other people seemed to ‘get it’.

The non-stick trangia 27 is a lovely bit of kit, I hope we get to see more of it. Loved the rainbow and ladder shots.
I’m a convert!
I like these videos a lot too, but bushcraft is my favourite. To much of anyone thing does get boring though. Keep ‘em coming. Please.
I agree with Amanda. Don't change a thing. Keep 'em coming.
Loved the dialogue with that motley crew of passers-by 😅
Thank you! Will do!
I think I would have treated myself to the lobster having gone up and down those ladders. Plenty of jeopardy ... which I like. Great video.
Next time!

Good to see you having fun in SA though I can honestly say that you would not get me going up to the top even on a calm day. 🙂
Lion's Head Mountain :)

Been up Table Mountain many times over the decades, but never the Lion's Head!
Rather you than me with chicken livers, calf or lamb for me, please!
Excellent, I like the travel vids.
Glad to hear it!
Great video Richard.
Thanks 👍
Love your dry humour Richard ! Another great video. Assume you baked the bread off camera using hot rocks?😊
Always
But it's a long way from Skipton😃

You’ve lost the ability to roam about in anonymity.
Wanted to watch the video, but your gains were not synced. Music was too loud and then the audio came in too low, and then the wind noise... sorry...
Byee
Cape Town Fan Club seemed to know you were there with all those questions 😂😅 👍😁👍
Loads of them!
👍
