It‘s been the first I understood nearly completly! I‘m so greatful and also a little proud! 🙏🏽 I loved the kanji-explanations aswell! Thank you so much for you great work and dedication! 🙏🏽
Just saw a video about how passive listening is a great way to supplement language learning, and this feels like the perfect video to do that with. Thank you!
This is the first video I'm seeing on this channel, and it's wonderful. This is actually super useful for me since I have a bit of vocab and grammar structure but don't have many opportunities to hear native speakers saying normal (not anime) phrases like this. Very Cool! Thank you!
Very intelligently constructed video-building up vocabulary as you go along while making it accessible to level 5-ers like me with a carefully selected choice of vocabulary. Also thank you for introducing Sōseki Matsume. An icing on the cake for an already great video. Only if Google would make their videos searchable like one can look up words on still images. I have to take a screen shot, look up a word and back to the video. The technology exists. Why don’t they do it? That feature would elevate these videos to a whole new level. So much effort was put into making this video on your part. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words about my video! I'm happy you found it helpful and enjoyed learning about Sōseki Natsume. I'm wondering if the English subtitles I provided might be enough for your needs. Your idea about searchable videos is very interesting though.
@@SpeakJapaneseNaturally Oh your translations are extremely useful and sufficient for following the main text. I do more with your videos than just the main text. I search all the writings that I see in the street. For example I read some of the texts written on the lanterns and tried to read what was posted on the windows in that bookstore. The clumsy was that I do it now is to pause the video, zoom in, take a screenshot, open Google translate, open the screenshot inside Google translate, capture the text, send it to main screen in Google translate, then read and learn the kanji and meanings. This should not be so convoluted if Google implemented the technology they have for still images into the paused video also. For example when I read an article on NHK website I can zoom on an image, tap the image, select search the image, and then zoom in on the words say on a lantern, select the words no matter what the orientation and click translate. A huge shortcut compared to what I explained I had to do for a video. Google needs to improve their tech here. Or somebody else would. For example as an example of what can be better in terms of technology please see the site animelon.com. Those are the next steps in technology especially with AI now it is all within reach. It takes language learning to a new level and content providers will have a whole new set of possibilities.
Greetings from Canada! I have been learning japanese on my own for 3 years now; I understand quite welle your podcasts and enjoy them very much, above all they are very structured and introduce new words and kanji on a soft way. I am planning to go to Japan and stay a while in Sapporo. I love the japanese culture (litterature) and - YES indeed KANJI! Of course, they are difficult to memorize, but they are so beautiful when you understand the underlying meaning. I have a fascinating book about kanji etymology so I can understand their evolution and reading ways. And I have some japanese books too (without english) for example the kanji dictionary for the japanese pupils from 6 to 11 years old. It is very usefull and I have a lot of fun reading and understanding the explanations. After 3 years of learning, I begin now to read in japanese. It is a great feeling!!! When I go to Japan, I want to avoid the touristic areas - I absolutely want to speak japanese and not english!!! I am looking for small towns where no Westerner go. These towns must be north of Tokyo. Do you have any recommendations? for example, towns where famous writers were born. I am a fan of the japanese cooking too. Every morning (I am retired so I have plenty of time) I listen to japaense podcasts and programs (for example from the HTB television from Sapporo). Thank you so much for your valuable videos! The japanese language is like a melody for me!!! :)
Hello Fumi-sensei. Thank you for this accessible video and your visit of Kagurazaka. I’ve discovered your channel a few months ago and find your videos very helpful in my journey to learn Japanese. Your voice is soothing and it’s a real pleasure to listen to you. The breakdown of some kanji is very interesting and make them easier to remember. Have a good day from France !
Thanks for the video! It's a beautiful city, and it's an amazing way to practice more Japanese for me, as I'm trying to get my knowledge up to N4 level again. Thanks again!! 🤍
ありがとう Fumi-sensei! I am from Germany and started learning Japanese. Your videos are inspiring and fun to watch. I stop the playback regularly and „decipher“ the Hiragana, but I am getting faster ⏩😃. In three weeks I am on holiday in Japan and will try to do my very best. またね。Carsten
Hi, Carsten-san, Thank you for your support! I really appreciate it. And I’m glad to hear how you use my videos 😊 I hope you’ll have a wonderful time in Japan!!✨✨
Fumi Sensei, thanks so much, I had the chance to live in Kagurazaka area between 1986 and 1987. I had great memories of that time and I could practice my Japanese with your video. どうもありがとうございます。
この動画はとても楽しかったふみ先生!I have just started immersing and being able to understand almost the whole video was truly motivating, please keep making this type of content, it is incredibly helpful and interesting.
どうもありがとうございます、先生! Your videos are very helpful. You use a very good pace with advanced and basic vocabulary and context. The pauses with explanations are helpful. I am glad to hear conversation and details in "real-time" even though I don't completely understand them at the moment; your selective follow-up explanations are helpful. Thanks! (When I listen to + watch your videos, I feel good about what I know + I am encouraged to pause and try to learn more. Very encouraging!)
This channel is wonderful. With the video supported text, it makes learning very pleasurable. I guess it just fits my present level of learning. Two ways of using そうです、ている、てある, modifying noun phrases. 教えてくださって本当にありがとうございました
Again, an excellent video. I am surprised - I understood quite a bit! Your videos are helping me learn Japanese, and I thank you for your effort! Fumisan, ja mata ne
I don't know my level and because of that I am going to take JLPT N5 exam just to know how good I am in Japanese, but I understand your videos perfectly well. Please keep up the great work, your videos are very helpful for my learning process and I believe you are helping with many others! 私の一番好きな町京都です。 お疲れ様でした。
There's a certain feeling I get when looking at kanji, listening to 日本語, and looking at the Japanese scenery... Some orderly, spiritual feeling. I think learning about Shintoism in middle school colored the way I feel when perceiving all things 日本.
Hi, I'm a Korean and recently began learning Japanese. I absolutely love your videos. They are so helpful, and may I say you have a calm and pleasant voice that brings out the beauty of the Japanese language? This video is also a wonderful presentation of a beautiful neighborhood. I love Kokoro by Natsume Soseki, although I read it in English translation. I'd love to visit this neighborhood someday. Thank you so much!!
I've heard that Natsume Soseki lived close to Kagurazaka, so he often visited there and Kagurazaka sometimes appears in his novel. I should have visited the stationery store, but I didn't know about it when I visited there. Later I told my mother that I visited Kagurazaka and she told me about the store. I hope you can visit Kagurazaka someday😄
Your pronunciation is so clear, and its very helpful to understand each word . I always watch and listened your vedio , its helpful me to improve my listing. Thank you sensei . 😊 its also help me for my interview . ありがとうございます 先生
