"The Tokugawa, because let's face it, you weren't planning on surviving anyway." Also "Can I just start at 2 reactor points? It'll just save time that way."
Tokugawa seems like it would pair really well with the maxed out nuclear cavalier pilot talent. Because that allows you to keep up the damage while cooling yourself
Tokugawa, the mech that actually... Isn't like the person it was named after. It definitely seems more Oda than Tokugawa. But yaaaas, Burning Finger! Need to rewatch that Gundam.
@@11dragonkid11 Instead of one giant gun, I'd think _all the guns_ instead, because Oda gave no shits about things like "norms" and "social classes" when it came to building a force that could stomp all over Japan. So you turn on the Ashigaru weapons system and gun barrels appear out of every part of the mech and riddle everything in front of you with bullets.
Discussing the changes to the tokugawa with my game master and whether or not the change from 2 reactor stress to having the exposed condition is better or worse. He said it doesn't matter much since you'd probably only get the exposed condition from taking reactor stress anyway. I pointed out that the tokugawa's core power, and I phrased this very poorly, lets you expose yourself as a protocol. He pinned that message on our discord chat now.
Toku is a die or ride mech that's meant to die as fast as it can kill and forcing it to need 2 reactor stress is really not a good idea. I mean it got changed for a reason.
I just designed my Tokugawa for my first Lancer campaign-- 100% doing molten gold swords and flavoring my guns as breathing fire. I'm so excited to explode.
The new version is pretty fucking terrifying. Just stay in danger zone at all times and get nuclear cav and burn out. Turning bonus damage into burn is just evil. Right now I'm running two medium thermal rifles.. 1d3+2HP. Without exposing, it's still 2d6 burn per turn with burnout and cavalier. If I go expose, I can add another 6. 9 if I use the fuel gun or the prototype. 12 if I overclock. If I burn an AI it's another 6 burn at least. Just fucking terrifying. This frame can inflict 20+ burn at level 3, or when it's not overloading, a mere 2d6 burn for being in danger.
Putting this here because I don't know where else to complain about it - I wish this boy had heavy mount so so bad. I want to put ghengis flamer on tokugawa with my whole heart
Tokugawa is a lot less risky now. Overclock is now a core bonus passive ability, and limit break takes over as the trait now. While exposed, all weapons become energy weapons, gain +2 threat if melee, and +5 range if range. You also get +3 bonus damage to all attacks instead of +1d6. Plasma sheath works the same, but its only requirment is in the danger zone. Overclock manually causes you to become exposed as a protocol, and your active core power just makes energy weapons have more threat and range. Like I said, less risky and a lot safer, but less damage.
It's coming straight from the english dub (The original one and not the shitty one right now) voice actor himself at the end of the series where he just rants at the ending. Why can't we have more english dub outtake bonus like this these days!?
@@11dragonkid11 Thanks for the answer, and oh my God that's awesome. Not gonna lie I watched the Netflix version first, but now I'm working on borrowing a copy of the original from a friend, and that just makes me even more excited.
@@austinsurratt1459 yeah the original ADV dub of Eva had some legendary VAs Spike spencer i believe was the name on Shinji, too lazy to look it up, they had this whole outtake reel for the DVD and for pretty much the entire last episode of the show its basically just Shinji's VA losing it in this wild ranty tangent about the absurdity of the show itself. ahh man, why did the Netflix adaptation have to be crap?
Just in case you haven't been able to yet, it's from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Look up Giorno's Theme if you want the song, but I highly recommend all of Jojo, even if Phantom Blood/the first half of Season 1 can be a bit of a slow start.

If Oda has a mech named after him, it's probably a mech with a giant ass gun because he just loved guns.

Choose from Cone 5 or three Line 12s next to eachother in a three wide Line.
I'd imagine the Oda would be a drone focused frame that is all about firing lines and filling the area with more lead than air.
Interesting they changed the name of Amaterasu to Lucifer. It is no longer the sun goddess but the burning lord of hell
Or put another way, a Fallen Morning Star.
"This hand of mine is burning red!" - Tokugawa pilot.
"dude you should get that checked or something idk lol" - Minotaur pilot.
Amaterasu + Overclock + Plasma Sheath + Annihilator = Pain Packer.

Thank you for being the best way to get Lancer talk on UA-cam and making me laugh my ass off.

That's why it doesn't have a Heavy Mount. It would be too strong if it did.
Tokugawa being more weeb than "butterfly nanoblade" is more amusing than I thought it would be.
Tokugawa is literally just the 2nd phase of all bosses.
