I now have a car exactly the same as this one, even the same colour and I really enjoy it. At first I had problems with the batteries but eventually got better lithium batteries put in and touch wood haven't had any problems now with range and power. I absolutely love it.

Συμφωνω, θελω κι εγω να δω βιντεακι με οδηγηση εκ των εσω. Παρεπιπτοντως σας καλεσα χθες απο Ηρακλειο Κρητης (κ. Μαρια) και με καλυψατε σε αρκετες αποριες μου (εχω κι αλλες αλλα θα τα ξαναπουμε εν καιρω). Το SMARTIE ειναι απλα υπεροχο, οποτε σιγουρα θα το παρω καποια στιγμη!
I have this exact model just in white color and its a good commuter with a big BUT. You have to be handy or at least have some XP with EVs because this is not a "hop in and go" car. Brand new from factory i had to tighten pretty much everything - every single bolt was loose in var. degree. Lights are terrible - had to add leds. SLA batteries are very heavy and range is really poor (30km) especially in cold wather (had to replace to lifepo4)1500W motor that mine model has is not the most powerful but its ok and it got enough torque. Suspension is very bad/stiff - feels like nothing at all. Doors feel flimsy and i had to adjust the locks for them to close and not leak water. Alot of cavities where wind seeps in and you freeze after 30mins or so...(my model dosent have heater - and i dont want it eather cause batteris are so bad alredy) I have paid 3500dollars for it (mine was slightly used demo ex) and it really is not worth a cent more. With some personal effort its a nice little car but if you want an inexpensive electic car i should probably see what unity folks come up with. On the good side its VERY servicable i could replace and get into pretty much everywhere, nothing is sealed shut but then again do you really want to do all that? If you want a project its a good one and a fun expereence otherwise just no sorry... oh yer...ppl turn heads when you go by in this thing ALOT

My next prediction is that soon all electric vehicles will have PV cells laminated to all horizontal or near horizontal surfaces as part of the paint finishing process as a selling point. After that paradigm shift it will eventually become mandatory to have solar PV cells to avoid an environmental impact tax on personal vehicles. Of course this will happen first in nations where the AGW crisis is taken seriously. I drive a vehicle that collects 100% of my daily transportation energy needs from the solar panel on its roof. I just went to the post office and returned home with my battery still almost fully charged because the sun was out here in Florida.

electric motor cant cope with summer heat...all above 18C. It overheats really fast and has no fan or alarm eather, so you end up with melted motor.
