- ATLANTIC AVE, DELRAY BEACH - Th Cinco De Mayo festivities are going on as a lady is seen falling to the ground shortly after signal activation. On lead is 803, FEC306 (LNG Fuel Tender) & 823 as this massive freight train is seen passing me @ 11:17PM. Shortly before the train's passing, the exit gates started going up which isn't good at all.

I feel bad for that girl. If she was on the tracks, that would have been REALLY bad. That crossing malfunctioned really bad as well. I'm surprised that the gates went up and the train wasn't even off the road yet.

I don't know if it's a malfunction because it resembles the barrier lowering system used in Japan, they lower the first 2 barriers and then lower the other 2 but if it is dangerous that they are up before the train finished passing
Delray has had 3 crossing malfunctions this past week that I've seen... I witnessed one at NE 8th and at SE 10th where the lights and bells keep going when the gates rise after the train passes... but nothing like this! They've been having some serious technical problems since they installed the 4-quadrant gates.

if I remember correctly and depending on how the wired the gates up ect.. im about 90% sure if you push the entrance gates up it will send the exit gates up cause they don't want anybody getting trapped in the track area.
A bit late for me, but yeah. If you look closely after he pans back to the gate rising, you can see the opposing entrance gate being held up by people. 3:53

Thank you! Florida East Coast Railway always have been a railroad to do and go big. It's what they do best. They were the leader in a few railroad practices that are here today.

I think it wasn’t a malfunction; seems like the people on the other side probably pushed it down hard to where it bounces causing a trigger perhaps like a reset? Cause I never seen a gate do that.

I saw this strange phenomenon today in Amarillo Texas on Folsom road. The signal lights would stop and start but no train lol. It was kind of creepy lol.
Sometimes they got a short in it that's why they're malfunctioning.

As you can see in the far right of the video the railroad crossing is half way down
I'm suprised they didn't have a Flagman/crossing keeper manning the crossing
Usually they do not in this area. People just need to abide by the signals. However, this malfunction only happened once. The next train which was a BrightLine, stopped before the crossing and it was flagged cause i called it in.
If there is a malfunction with the signals, then they really should fix them or replace them.

So I think that the train passed the sensor at the other crossing and the train must of messed up the sensor so much that it caused the other gates to come up and I am not 100% sure I’m correct
