I recently called Dogtra to ask some questions about this collar and they told me that it will always vibrate before giving a correction. The contact points do not actually have anything to do with the vibration so you should be able to put the rubber stoppers in and set it to auto increase or set level mode and it will just vibrate. Not sure what you are trying to do but the collar also has a Vibrate setting that just uses vibration every time the dog barks.
We recently brought home a mini dachshund, he is 7 months old now. We have had a hard time getting him crate trained and getting him to not bark at everything. Whenever we put him in the crate he barks and whines non stop. I believe it’s separation anxiety because he does not like to be left alone.
Okay, Got it!! if you cycle through the modes there is a mode that is just called Vibration. That will vibrate every time the collar senses barking instead of giving a correction. I am honestly pretty picky about when and how to use e-collars and bark collars. For your case, you may want to be extra careful. If you don't know what you are doing you can actually make that crate anxiety worse. If your pup does not understand the collar, he may think the correction is coming from the crate and ultimately intensify the problem . When I train pups for crate anxiety, I absolutely need an Ecollar but there is a lot of groundwork that goes into introducing the collar outside of the crate so the pups don't get confused. I am not super worried about the vibrate setting but the correction setting has potential to get tricky. So if you are planning on using the correction, I would highly recommend that you find a trainer to help you through that process. I am not sure where you live but I know of a trustworthy training company that has trainers across the country. If you are looking for a recommendation, I may be able to send you their info! They are not in every state so I don't know if I can help you for sure, but maybe! Feel free to shoot me an email and I can try to help.
I am pretty sure it has to be set to one or the other, Vibrate Or Auto Increase. The only way to switch from vibrate to stimulation is manually on the collar or through the app. The Auto Increase setting can only be applied to stimulation level.
@@OnlyTheBestForOurPets That's a shame. I think it would be really useful to give them a vibration as a "warning" first. Thank you so much for answering.
My Pleasure!! I actually just called Dogtra to ask because I was kind of surprised. Not sure if this is helpful for you or not but technically, it will always vibrate before it gives a stimulation. So you could set the auto increase to start at 0 and it will vibrate and then give a level 0 correction. So that is basically a warning but then after that, if it automatically increases, it is going to vibrate and then stimulate at whatever level it has moved up to. So if you have the collar starting at 0, you can at least give a warning there, just not as it automatically moves higher. If you have the collar set to a specific stimulation level without Auto Increase, it will also vibrate and then give the stimulation.
I did not personally have that issue. If you end up trying out the collar, I would just start on "count only" to see if it is registering other dogs barking. If it is, you may have to go into the sensitivity settings in the app and adjust as needed. I had the mic sensitivity set to 2 out of 5.
haha it really just depends on what people are looking to accomplish. Different tools for different situations! Generally speaking, I would rather use a remote based E-collar like the 1900 but this may work well for very specific situations. I would imagine this collar could be helpful for separation anxiety or working dogs that are required to stay quiet while formally working. Like I say in the video, there are probably other trainers out there that specialize more in the uses of this type of collar.
If you remove the contacts points with the rubber stoppers and you have the collar in auto increase or set level mode, will the collar still vibrate?

@@OnlyTheBestForOurPets also, which setting is just the vibrate setting when he barks?

Can it vibrate first, and then go into increasing stimulation levels if barking continues? Or is it only vibrate OR stimulate/increasing stimulation?

Will it correct if another dog barks other than the one wearing the collar?

What a waste of money...just buy the Dogtra 1900x and be done with it.
