The old guy with the camera and cigar (in the park...on a ride!) getting startled at 1:28 was amazing. His reaction to getting bumped was hilarious...and he never dropped that cigar.
It’s so weird hearing words like “tight budget” with Disney, considering at the turn of the decade they are now a multi trillion dollar powerhouse all over the world with seemingly endless budgets.
Not really weird when you have studio honchos like Bob Iger in charge of the theme parks: These are people who are used to tight budgets, and only greenlighting the ones who meet that criterion.
It’s so great. It’s a virtual walk on 99% of the time, it’s fun, it’s a great chance to relax in the AC and chat with your friends/family/whoever you’re vacationing with. I love that ride.
They were a great ride! Probably my favorite of all time. The vid doesn't even show one of the ingenious bits of engineering which involved a giant sweeper arm that would gently wrangle all the saucers that were currently in the open field and enclose them in a pen while simultaneously releasing the waiting saucers and passengers into the open field. I was 12 when the ride was removed and have bored my family through the years with tales about the Flying Saucers!
Yeah I’m on my dads account but the flying saucers in cars land we’re the best I went on it when I was like six when I rode it but last time I went to Disney cars land just opened and it was PACKED
At first, i thought you were a generic top ten channel like Watchmojo who just acted like he cared and knew about the topics he spoke about, but i was dead wrong. These videos are great and educated. Keep up the good work!
UltraCheesy Studios I don't like watchmojo either. Their videos are usually wildly incorrect, or have ridiculous opinions. I mean, they put Gravity Falls on a list of the top 10 worst disney cartoons >:|
UltraCheesy Studios he might not be a mega Disney fan though he could maybe just do some decent research but who knows. I'm not a big Disney fan by a long shot but I no a lot of stuff anyway I'm talking about WDW, not so much Disneyland but I know the basics for Disneyland)since I'm a local and went 6 times a year at least with probably an average of 25 days spent in property every year from when I was 3 up until my mid teens. just never was the biggest Disney fan as a kid, I like Universal better so as I hit 16 years old and my brothers and sisters hit 14 and 11 we starting to get tired of Disney as well so we started switching off every other year to an annual pass at Universal. now in my early 30 s i always buy annual passes for me and my son to go to Universal every year. bought annual passes for 2 years when he was a bit younger and he just really didn't care for it that much. To be honest he really doesn't care for Universal either but he likes it better. I know weird kid LOL.
I remember Imagination 1.0 from my childhood. I was SO upset when they closed it and changed it. I never saw 2.0, though my parents took my little brother that year and saw it and said it sucked. When I graduated high school, I got to pick where we went on vacation and obviously, it was back to Disney World for us! We saw 3.0 and while I didn't like it as much as 1.0, it wasn't bad. I still have my Figment stuffed animal, though, because he's awesome.
As captain price once said “that was an improvement but it’s not hard to improve on garbage” is the perfect quote for journey into imagination with figment
I really enjoyed this video, I feel like you should have your #3 on here. I feel like the new version is more of an upgrade not a start from scratch type of thing.
Ha ha I remember going on Superstar limo back in early 2000 my friends and I had fun as we worked as extras on movies and TV shows at the time. It was quite funny as Whoopi Goldberg was always on Hollywood squares a show we would constantly work on as audience members. This was when California Adventure had just opened.
People Movers was a classic sight at Disney land! Probably tired adults liked it too just to relax. I have not been to Disneyland since 1987. Before that I was there with my family when I was 8 years old in 1971. I always remembered that large model city that was at night with little moving cars and trucks, the buildings and houses had lights and also all the vehicles had working headlights. It was in GE Progressland. It looks so real.
3:06 Wait... So, Luigi was created in DisneyLand? I’ve always thought that it was created by Nintendo *my life is a lie* (Edit: Oh ok that was the car. My bad)
Horizons pretty much closed in Epcot after 9 years. We heard that later on, a sinkhole was discovered beneath the ride. Now we have Mission Space in the same area where Horizons was located. Horizons failed to survive.
One question I have about Super Star Limo: was it always intended to be a dark ride? Because the original concept makes it sounds like Disney was going to try to bring Rockin' Roller Coaster to the West Coast, only L.A. themed instead of Aerosmith.
Loved this attraction, as did my children. I can probably still remember the words to the story. The youngest 2 kids still have Their Figment stuffed animal. . 38 and 40 years. We lost one and had to purchase a third.
Having rode rocket rods.... That was definately the worst ride experience I've ever had at Disneyland. Mostly because it was nearly a two hour wait for something that only lasted 3 minutes and really wasn't that thrilling or exciting. Although gotta say that tire one looked aweful
The greatest Disney failure in my eyes was converting the Swiss Family Robinson Tree into the Tarzan tree. They removed all of these cool jungle inventions (that would may life possible in a tree) and installed giant plastic models from the Tarzan movie. The tree is now a boring commercial for the Tarzan movie.
I hated the new Figment ride. . .when we went, almost no one was in que and it seemed incredibly outdated. I thought it was straight out of the 80's, not the early 2000s.
I remember riding Luigi’s flying tires before it closed. It was pretty fun cause me and my brother just love rollercoasters n stuff but it was very slow so I could see why people found it underwhelming.
I really liked luigi’s flying tires I’m sad it’s gone the thing is I didn’t even know it closed cause I haven’t been to Disneyland since 2014 or 2013. And I’m sad I haven’t been there for so long because so much has changed, over the years. But at least Luigi got a new ride that hat I probably haven’t been on at least I don’t think so.
So glad they didn't get rid of Figment at D23, because as much as the ride is bad, I love being able to walk on it anytime of the day and get my own private train!
Given the pavilion is featured in the official "stuff we're gonna update" model they showed off, chances are the news is coming in the not too distant future... I wouldn't mind seeing a properly updated version, and given all references to the ride in light of the update have been in the context of the original ride (even including the Rainbow Corridor in the upcoming preview center), I think there's a good chance good changes are on the horizon.
Anyone remember 20,000 Leagues Ride at Disney World? The ride that took you on a real submarine underwater. I went in on it way back in the early 90s before they shut it down due to malfunctions. I heard it had problems with people having to be rescued and was a major lawsuit waiting to happen.
Love all your video's! It physically hurts me that they took away The People Mover and put rods in, and that ride so damaged the track that they couldn't even revive the amazing original ride. Thank goodness I'm on the east coast now, and can enjoy the people mover yearly :)
I was at California adventures and casa the la tires had changed so much it’s now a car dancing it’s just different cars and very fast and now it’s technically a dancing car ride it’s my fave
I never felt the people mover was a failed attraction. Just an attraction that got f'd off in Disney's world wind tour of unimaginative destructive rehabs.
It wasn't. Rocket Rods is the much more glaring failure, though it's fair to bring up Peoplemover because it makes the Rods' failure even more striking. On its own, Rocket Rods was a mechanical nightmare with low capacity; it's even worse given it replaced an extremely high capacity ride that pretty much never broke down.
+Mark Deimel Actually, if it wasn't for Eisner, Disney might have been sold off to another company and be a subsidiary. He also did have the last laugh as Bob Iger could have replaced CA Adventure with another park thanks to the budget the remodel had, but he turned Eisner's park into something of a golden goose for Disney.
Kali water rapids should be on this list. The line takes literally forever, the ride is very short and you don't get wet from any of the rapids, only the waterfall at the end gets people wet. The whole concept of deforestation is thrown in very half hazardly as well. Worst ride in Disney World.
In Disney World The Carousel of Progress is a beautiful and amazing ride but I think it needs to retire. Every year we go the ride it breaks down or stops in the middle of the show. It’s still a fun ride and we make it traditional to go and see if we make it through the full ride without stopping!
I think the most failed attraction is rocket rods because it could hurt people and and it was shutdown and never opened even when they said it would open in 2001 but didn’t plus can’t you open it again but this time put it on the ground and let it go completely throughout the ride it could be slow and much safer than its old stage. So I think that one is the worst of all
As much as I hated Superstar Limo, Journey Into Your Imagination was the absolute worst failure, primarily because it replaced a ride that was fantastic. Rocket Rods was similarly tragic, but I loved the original Imagination ride so much and hated the replacement far more than I hated Rocket Rods. I actually enjoyed Luigi’s Flying Tires.
I remember going on Luigi’s Flying Tires with my little sister and cousin when it first opened, all I remember is the line being RIDICULOUSLY long and all three of us making the tire go some what fast (probably cause there where three of us in one tire). Kinda sad to see it go even though it had a lot of problems but glad I got to experience this weird ride lol.
General consensus among Disney fans is that while it was definitely terrifying and very unorthodox of Disney, it was also a unique original concept that didn't get enough love when it was actually operating. Its Stitch themed replacement, on the other hand, is widely considered one of the worst theme park attractions ever made (it was still technically operational when this video was posted, otherwise it would have easily made the list).
I’ve been a pass holder at both Disneyland and Disneyworld and the ONLY ride I ever had a problem with was my first time on the people mover. I was holding my 9 month old son and we came to a sharp turn and since it doesn’t have seatbelts we were kinda slingshot towards the edge and my son almost came close to flying off I wasn’t holding him so tight. It was so scary
I have 3 attractions that I absolutely despise: 3. Stitch's Great Escape (Ik, this one might be a controversial pick. If you liked the attraction, that's great. Continue to praise it all you want, I respect your opinion if you enjoyed it.) 2. Superstar Limo 1. The Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management
Had a dream last night we were on our way to Disney world (since it's only possible in my dreams) and I was like "I'm gonna watch tpmvids all the way there" congratulations
Funtime Bailey my dad, who is like 50, said that Tomorrowlands future ride (where you could make your own future) had cellphones, color TVs, and radios. Yeah
@@mareeeedensos6348 I'm pretty sure that disney have coined that title in the movie "Meet The Robinson", where the characters a theme park called that.
stephanie nicole the line for that ride was the shortest in California land every time I went. I thought the ride was fun the fist time, after that it got kinda boring
Since I use to do this ride every time we went to DCA...I have to say the individuals who would place a small child in the middle then slip them out of the restraint to be put on the surface (while the ride was in full operation) just to get a beach ball was a major issue for new cast members. When they took the beach balls out (because somebody decided to hurl it like a NBL pitcher against people they did not know) was the start of the decline for that ride. Personally the Luigi's dancing cars ride needs to go. I got hurt on that ride by the aggressive jerking. Original Flying Saucers was the best...but technological advances don't always make a good ride. My opinion...the Rocket Rods were the product of being CHEAP and using track that was made for touring not a thrill ride. Even my 4 year old son who rode the ride HATED IT.
I personally don't even think it's worthy of Universal Studios OR Six Flags. It seems more like a county fair ride, though in that case it would actually be really good based on county fair standards.
The old guy with the camera and cigar (in the park...on a ride!) getting startled at 1:28 was amazing. His reaction to getting bumped was hilarious...and he never dropped that cigar.
lol
😂😂
Angel Singer B 😂😂😂! I agree that was so funny
He looks friendly

Multi-trillion 😂😂 that number is WAYYYY too high
“Tight budget” YOU JUST BOUGHT MARVEL, MY GUY.
Exactly the mandalorian budget was huge
Not really weird when you have studio honchos like Bob Iger in charge of the theme parks: These are people who are used to tight budgets, and only greenlighting the ones who meet that criterion.
In Disneyworld, they still have the people mover. I love it to this day

Yeah. It’s one of those “you just had lunch/dinner and you need something to do while you’re waiting for your food to settle” rides
Wdym Maggie?
Maggie Newsom not telling. My youtuber name is based off of Patton Sanders, the word paw, and Sans
Maggie Newsom yeah it’s ok

I get the feeling that superstar limo was later adapted into Rock’n’roller coaster.
THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT!
Valentino Martone ME TOO!
Venturer Eclipse sameeeeee
Venturer Eclipse Rock' n Rollercoaster opened before Superstar Limo
I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING

hey they are doing a figment themed food and wine festival :D
I still have my stuffed Figment and pics outside of the ride from the 80's because it was awesome. Disney messed up on that one.
So ur like 30 something now lol
#BringDreamfinderBack
Cool I see it when I go if it's not bad
Somethings are best left forgotten.
Forever.
Biggest fail: Imagination 2.0
They took an iconic ride and made it horrible. 3.0 is not much better, and it still feels cheap.

Journey into imagination with figment is my favorite ride
Luigi's flying tires was so fun! I was devastated when it left lol.
With something like The Flying Saucers and Luigi’s flying tiers. You’d think they would use magnets so they levitate better
I love figment😍😻! He's the best dragon!🐲😀💰👑💖
these videos are awesome!! I love telling my family these easter eggs and secerts
aw, Luigi's tires was the bomb. Shame they closed it, I always thought it was a lot of fun

LAME! I loved figment! A figment stuffed animal was the only thing I wanted from my Disney World trip when I was 8 years old!
@Natasha McHattan I mean Lame, Bogus, not cool. It was a great ride and Figment a great character! It was nerfed before its time.

Horizons pretty much closed in Epcot after 9 years. We heard that later on, a sinkhole was discovered beneath the ride. Now we have Mission Space in the same area where Horizons was located. Horizons failed to survive.
I remember the tier ride then I went last year and there was this stupid ride my family waited a hour and a half for it’s the stupidest ride
Why does the sign for cars land look suspiciously like the gravity falls title?
Ya it dose good eye
Because it's supposed to be a postcard.
One question I have about Super Star Limo: was it always intended to be a dark ride? Because the original concept makes it sounds like Disney was going to try to bring Rockin' Roller Coaster to the West Coast, only L.A. themed instead of Aerosmith.
Anyone else love the monarail here? :< (I is a loner ) i also love skyrides at Alton towers
The biggest failed ride in my opinion
(it is still in operation) is junkyard jamboree.
Been on Luigi’s flying tires was abouslty worst!!!! I was so happy they changed it
Is no one gonna talk about how The Dream Finder wasn't included in Journey Into Imagination 3.0 RIP
Loved this attraction, as did my children. I can probably still remember the words to the story. The youngest 2 kids still have Their Figment stuffed animal. . 38 and 40 years. We lost one and had to purchase a third.

You bet bud, keep it up !
Long lines + short rides + rising prices = STAY HOME

Luigi’s Flying Tires was so bad. I have no clue why they’d bring back an attraction that already failed once.
I’ve never been to Disneyland so these vids are educational and entertaining
I hated the new Figment ride. . .when we went, almost no one was in que and it seemed incredibly outdated. I thought it was straight out of the 80's, not the early 2000s.

Flying saucer bumper cars probably needed a redesigned seat with backrest, and thruster quads, at least. And extendable steps.
Do a video on what ride was originally there to what it became. For example: Horizons became Mission to Mars. (I miss that ride..)
I heard that the celebrty animatronics in Disney's California Adventure were recycled in the monsters ink ride
Honestly that limousine one would look bad for Disney anyways since it had princess Dinah in it when clearly she passed due to that.
And the fact that Disney brought back the flying saucers for toy story land shocked me
I never felt the people mover was a failed attraction. Just an attraction that got f'd off in Disney's world wind tour of unimaginative destructive rehabs.
It wasn't. Rocket Rods is the much more glaring failure, though it's fair to bring up Peoplemover because it makes the Rods' failure even more striking. If any Six Flags park had Superstar Limo in their theme parks, it would stay longer and have positive reactions compared to California Adventure

I miss the Rocket Rods
So basically only one of these are in Disney world and the rest are in Disneyland... smfh this sucks.

Superstar Limo does look a bit weird, but that’s what made it unqiue.
I liked Mr toads wild ride, but I felt the ride vehicles were too small. That was the only problem bc I felt cramped.

Ummmm 😳 no way jose

Well if Walt tied two shopping carts together and pushed them up Main Street USA, people would queue 3 hours for it.

I think Virtual Reality based rides will make tomorrow land look incredibly dated in less than 10 years.

“Mom can we go to land?!”
@@mareeeedensos6348 I'm pretty sure that disney have coined that title in the movie "Meet The Robinson", where the characters a theme park called that.
I went on Luigi Flying Tires in 2015 too bad it’s gone
Ya...
@The Hershey Dog Luigi Flying Tires
@The Hershey Dog ya it was fun but I gotta say it was pretty slow...
I went in 2015 to Disneyland and DCA but never saw the Luigi thing.
Edit: oh wait I went during the summer
@@gamingllama5831 kind of a shame to see Luigi Flying Tires go
Are you kidding me people get hurt from beach balls
Apples 22 not from the beach balls, but because the balls hit lights which shattered and fell on tourists

@@kfly1013 ur pfp is a mood

I was fortunate enough to get to ride Luigi's Flying Tires while it was still there, and it was pretty fun in my opinion
Me too
TheAnswerIs A I never got on that one the line was always to long it it was broken down 😔
stephanie nicole the line for that ride was the shortest in California land every time I went.
Same, but...
...I was hysterical.
Nice swipe at Six Flags at the very end of the video.
🤣
Hey! I love your videos!
no
You could take Monster Mansion from SFOG and place it in a Disney park, and no differences would be made.
4:15 are we not going to talk about the fact that this man is literally squashing that little girl!😂
Demoe Krueger For real😂😂🤦🏾♂️
Oh yeah i skipped to 4:15 to see that and he's just lying on that girl HAHA HAHA!!!!!😂
Yes.. such a careless guy
Demoe Krueger that was me in the other car
I skipped back and thought that was hilarious!
To my point of view Superstar Limo looks like a ride for Universal Studios Not Disney and Not Six Flags
Yes It's Meant For Universal Studios
I personally don't even think it's worthy of Universal Studios OR Six Flags. It seems more like a county fair ride, though in that case it would actually be really good based on county fair standards.
Joshua Wood If the county fair in my county had Super Star Limo, I would be amazed and pissed.
thats what i thought
Nah, I’d rather Superstar Limo be more at Six Flags level.
