Oh noooooo I was hoping you would have a scale like if you got between __-__ right then you are likely A1, between __-__ A2, etc. Of course I'm sure they would have to be approximate. But i took the whole quiz (got 11 right) going to get a gauge on where that might put me, and got nuthin' 😭 haha. It's fine, but, yeah, darn it

Ok, I got them all right, except #13. But that was because I reasoned the sentence would be "when we got there, they had already eaten", so I picked habían. So at least I knew what the words meant :-). My reasoning for #15 was that "complicated" was the nature of the situation. That's just what kind of situation it was. Otherwise it would have been a different situation. But I had my doubts because those test questions tend to be trick questions for a reason! That was fun!

One wrong no. 7. The last one is es, as the situation itself hasnt changed. Its permanent.

This format worked for me. I sometimes zone out too easily, this just caught my attention especially with the mix of levels. Nice work.

I got all of them right except for the last one. I thought it would be "está" because a situation keeps changing. But I think the reason it should be "es" is because a situation gets replaced by another situation, with the first situation no longer existing and the current situation has a different characteristic which is of its own. Hence, "es". Also, es is more likely to be used with objects, places and situations, which I've noticed.

As a native Spanish speaker, I'm unsure why the algorithm brought me here. But now that I've watched the video I want to point out four things. I apologize in advance!!! Please keep posting videos and take this as constructive feedback 🙏
#5: It's wrong. The correct answer should be "al" (a+el).
#11 / #12 (in the question section is #11 but in the answer sheet is marked as #12). But the thing is that there are 2 correct answers:
    - Abran la puerta, por favor. Here, you are asking it to a group of people.
    - Abre la puerta, por favor. Here, you are asking it to one person.
#14: there are 2 correct answers:
    - La novela FUE escrita por Gabriel. (The novel was/has been written by...)
    - La novela SERÁ escrita por Gabriel. (The novel will/going to be written by...)
As Gabriel Garcia Marquez is dead, an educated guess would be that the correct answer is FUE (was/has been). However, if you are watching a documentary about Gabriel Garcia Marquez or if you are in a history class and they are talking... I don't know... talking about him getting inspiration from somewhere and that it's what will lead him to write the novel in his future adult life or whatever, you could absolutely use a future sentence.
The thing is that grammatically speaking, both options are ok.
#15: this one is EXTREMELY tricky because there are 2 correct options:
    - la situación ES dificil.
    - la situación ESTÁ dificil.
However, if you are a new Spanish learner, you should focus on that "es" is the correct answer because I understand that makes more sense. However, there's a special exception while speaking informally about something difficult that you have personally experienced or are experiencing, you could say "está". But I would leave this to advanced students because in this sentence, "es" works every time while "está" works only if you are personally suffering from it being difficult.

#15 that’s exactly why she said there could be 2 answers and that she wanted to hear your reasoning. #14…. That’s a little nit picky don’t you think? We aren’t talking about the movie! lol #5… sometimes editors just write it incorrectly on the screen…

@@user-wo6nc8mu3j I described a documentary as an example but it could be used in a lot of ways. My history high school teacher used to talk in a future sentence while trying to make things sound interesting for the class. It could be taken as a storytelling technique. But as a matter of fact, it's grammatically correct in both forms :)
Again, I didn't try to ruin the video with an ugly comment! It's just constructive feedback and for people taking this as a quick test.

For #5 is it correct to speak in this form?
    Voy 'a' supermercado...

    • @nickollo2116
      @nickollo2116 День тому

A is just the preposition (to, of, towards, from...) You still need the article to make a real sentence. It's el supermercado, a + el = al. So it's: voy al supermercado
