Well he does need new material.. 😅 I also go places I shouldn't go. I like to explore and have fun. I'd be honored to have Ballen narrate my Darwin award death 😂
You know what, Kurt was right. That foreman really was lazy. How are you gonna check for a missing person in there just superficially enough to miss them?
I know, right? How did he not see that guy in there? It’s not that big. I think he did this on purpose. Saw an opportunity to kill the guy without getting caught.
These stories just prove that work safety is a very real and very important thing, and all precautions should be taken to make sure nobody dies a horrible painful death.
@@codywhite949 Yes, when people get in a big hurry, they can get careless. Some folks don't want to bother with non slip shoes, etc. I was helping hold ropes while hoisting a tent when I got my ears slapped down bc I wrapped the rope around my wrist. The fellow in charge saw me and gave me heck fire. He was right, if it went wrong, it would have pulled my hand off !
I rarely leave comments but felt I wanted to for this video, it may even be my first ever comment. So I never got to meet my dad coz he also died on an oil rig accident in Aberdeen not long after I was born. After hearing the story of Gordon Moffat (who is also from the same town as me), when it happened and the company, it sounded scarily similar to my dad that I almost started to panic. Did a quick Google search and it turns out my dad was one of three to die on an oil rig owned by Santa Fe, along with Gordon Moffat, in the span of just 9 months due to safety negligence. Their deaths could’ve been prevented but they weren’t. My dad’s name was Andrew Williams and he passed away in February 2001 on the oil rig Galaxy One. I just want to say thank you for covering the stories you do, they mean a lot to real people. Been listening to your stories for a few years now :) Never thought one of them would connect with me until today
Anytime i hear of small space like a tube or a hatch in one of these stories i can already assume it's not gonna end well. GOD bless 🙏🏼 these people who went into places they shouldn't have went. I'm blessed to be seated in the comfort and safety of my home 🏡
I think it’s really great that there’s an audience for this kind of oral storytelling. It shows that we’re not all that different to our ancestors, sitting around campfires passing down traditional tales from generation to generation.
I think I understand why podcasts are so popular. Our grandparents grew up with no Tv. They would gather around the radio as a family and listen to “ shows.” Going to bed with Mr. Ballen’s podcast( s) playing is the best ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Your right but what’s sucks is people are too lazy now and very antisocial due to lack of self love and fear of social judgment so instead of getting to know people and actually doing this in person, their insecurities dominant them and would rather “act cool” and just watch videos online!
The story of the maintenance guy always gets me.. I can't imagine how terrified he must have been. Poor guy. Had the hoist operator been paying attention, that wouldn't and shouldn't have happened.
To the people complaining about ‘recycled’ videos, MrBallen legitimately stated AT THE START OF THE VIDEO that the first one was new, and the other 4 were bonuses of re-edited stories
I don't see it that way 😊 I've been following him for a couple of years and have only seen one of the videos. Plus, he has a lot of new followers that might have not seen these older videos, as well. @TWBIAP
@@TWBIAPExactly! People aren't complaining that he didn't say so, it's the fact that he's just doing stories he already did before...and just because they're "re-edited" doesn't mean anything...the outcome of the story is still the same 🙄

I think the fire brigade should have heen held equally as responsible as the neighbor. They ignored the 1 man that kept telling them what thier best bet was. Just because he was not in a fire brigade suit did not meen he didnt know what he was talkin about. They should have listened and taken any advice from someone that had knowledge and experiance in that kind of situation. That fire brigade was just as responsible for that boys death. Always watch your children. Always. No matter what! Life is unpredictable. God bless that little boy’s soul. He death was so preventable in so many ways. RIP Alfredo.
Debbie’s story is so heartbreaking the fact people could hear her screaming and wrote it off. Where in Disney Land is that kind of screaming part of the show it should’ve been obvious to everyone

As an enginner working onboard a ship with 7 years experience... There are a few critical mistakes that were done by EVERYONE... 1st is ofcourse Curt shouldn't have gone alone no matter what! 2nd - We always double and tripple check especially if there is someone missing and if there is a piece of cloth in that door (sinply because that cloth could lead to a MAJOR engine failure which could inturn lead to the ship becoming COMPLETELY inoperational thus loss of money and the ship itself)... 3rd - anyone, especially in an emergency situation such as this, can open the scavenge door... Its not limited to anyone as stated... There are procedures in place during such events of missing persons... This entire situation could've been avoided if even one of the procedures would've been folowed... Infact as per our job completion checklist a final inspection is mentioned... Even something as a small tool will make a hige difference in the operating parameters of the engine... I really cant believe that an entire human didn't manage to raise any suspicions... Believe it or not there are many such "incidents" that happen... I could go on for days but not here obviously 😂
Why do y’all suspect foul play? What’s the backstory - drugs/smuggling? That’s at least 3 people to be involved in a conspiracy… I think a crewmate would have talked by now… so incompetence seems more likely than murder, at least on the surface.
@@mattskustomkreations actually only 2 would have to be involved. I don't think the guy who found the door with the red cloth had anything to do with it. He saw and he reported it to the captain and foreman. And after showing them the door he was no longer involved in the process. He just left them to open the door. Once gone he probably assumed they would open it. He wouldn't have known if they didn't. Secondly Curt and foreman had troubles between them. It most likely wasn't the first time Curt accused the foreman of being lazy, otherwise it wouldn't have upset the crew that much. When you hear the story think of it this way. Let's say it was a 2 story building with a basement rather than a ship. Someone goes missing. The last place anybody saw him was the basement. So you are going to naturally look there first. Now let's say in this basement there are two hallways. What separates them is a long wall with many doors. Each door has 3 locks. Someone comes and tells you, "hey one of the doors had 2 of its locks open." That is unusual in its self. But on top of that the door has a red cloth stuck in it. Something else that is also unusual. Now all you have to do is unlock the door and open it. That's all you have to do. Are you going to shout out to the person at the last door to open up that door and shine a light down the dark hallway to check if someone is behind the door you're standing right in front of? The door you could easily unlock and open to see if someone is behind it or not. On top of that you also know that the hallway behind that door gets so hot a person could get cooked if trapped in there. Again all you have to do is open the door right in front of you. The door that had been found with 2 locks not locked, which you know is unusual in itself, and it has a red cloth stuck in it which is also extremely unusual. Why wouldn't you simply open that door? Why have a door at the end of the hallway used to look down an extremely dark and dangerous adjoining hallway? It makes no sense. What does make sense is if one or both of those guys hated Curt. Perhaps when Curt and the foreman were alone they got in a fight. Maybe the foreman accidently killed or thought he killed Curt in a fight. In a panic he shoves Curt in the tube and a rag of his got caught in the door while in a rush to hide the body. IF the captain and the foreman are close friends, after all the foreman was popular, he might tell the captain I accidentally killed Curt. In which case the captain may decide we'll just pretend he got stuck in the tube. His body will be cooked and they'll be no evidence of Curt being murdered. The captain wants to prevent his friend from going to jail. Finally the last point. Go back to the hallway illustration. If you know the one hallway that gets hot enough to cook a person, wouldn't you open the door infront of you before it gets hot? Or would you wait for that hallway to get hot enough to cook someone and then once it cools down decide to go back and open that door? It makes no sense to wait and only look after it would be too late. It only takes those 2 individuals to keep whatever happened a secret. The crewman had left after he showed them the door. And for all we know he might have suspected something afterwards and told law enforcement. But there would be absolutely no way of proving foul play once a body it cooked. Not every detail of a story gets released to the public. This of course is all just a theory, and perhaps it was just 2 people being idiots and not doing the most logical thing in a case of where someone is missing. But can you see how it's suspect? Can we really trust that the foreman didn't see him when he looked down the tube? I could even imagine the captain not being involved in a conspiracy and just taking the foreman's word for not seeing Curt in the tube. In which case it would only be the foreman who knows and is keeping what might really have happened a secret. But again it's all just a theory. Yet a very plausible one.
as someone who served in the military for 10 years, I can honestly say that the safety operator is key and if you see something say something. A lot of meetings may seem like they’re not important or they’re taking up your day but honestly, they do save lives. We’re taking lines on the ships. I recently learned that the woman from the America Sings incident was from my home town, and was actually friends with my grandmother. My grandma was telling me about a friend of hers that had died working a theme park attraction, and when she started telling me what happened, I immediately remembered the original video you did on this! I think I surprised her when I said the name of the ride before she did.
My fiancé worked for Disney at the time and was actually outside of the theater when it happened. He had no idea that anything was going on until later.
Didn’t anyone wonder where Debbie was when she didn’t introduce the show?!?! How many of the staff didn’t realize the screaming wasn’t in the show? Unbelievable.
Why would America sings have someone screaming bloody murder during it? Ever? Do children enjoy the sounds of someone being ripped to pieces? I don't think they do. Help me should have been a pretty good indication that something wrong was happening. I don't think there's many songs they sing for children that has help me as a lyric.
@MamaMOB right? "Ameericaa lalala...aaa, help. Aaaaa, please somebody help!" That's a totally normal children's show without any weird sounds whatsoever. That room was full of morons.
The Disney story sounds like something out of a movie. Surprisingly, I remember the details of this story. I also remembered the 4th story. I usually don't remember these stories because MrBallen has made so many episodes. I forget over time. This Disney one really stuck in my mind.
I've seen other creators cover the story of Debbie, but none of them explained the way the stage works as well as you. Knowing how the stage works and what she went through makes it an even more horrific story! Bless her soul.
First time I heard that story was from Dark5 but it wasn’t told in the detail that MrBallen did so I had no idea that she stayed alive for multiple rotations of the stage. Her death and the death of that oil rig worker have got to be one of the most brutal deaths.
I hear that no one dies in Disney…I mean they actually do but Disney has a policy stating that if someone dies from in the park, there then brought out of the park and is declared deceased outside the park’s gates, because No one dies at Disney….mind blowing!!!
I remain utterly agitated about all the "professionals" completely disregarding the spelunker, who was the most knowledgeable, experienced and professional person out of them regarding the situation. But, oh no... he is a civilian so what does he know about rescuing someone?

John, I was deeply moved by all the stories in this video, but the one about Alfredo hit especially close to home. As an Italian, I remember following this tragedy closely when it happened. The horror and heartbreak of those days in 1981 came flooding back as you recounted the details. It's hard to describe the collective anguish our entire nation felt as we watched this rescue attempt unfold on live TV. Millions of us were glued to our screens, desperately hoping and praying that this little boy would somehow be saved. With each passing hour, our hopes rose and fell. The image of that small child trapped alone in the dark is one that still haunts me to this day. Your telling of Alfredo's story was so touching and respectful. You captured both the frantic urgency of the rescuers and the cruel twists of fate that ultimately led to tragedy. Even now, over 40 years later, many Italians can't forget the horror we all experienced during those days. Thank you for shining a light on this devastating event and treating it with such care. While all your stories are captivating, this one in particular transported me back to that awful time and reminded me of the profound impact it had on our country. Your storytelling continues to be unparalleled, John.
Hi, American here and we had almost the same thing back in the 80s. Her name was Baby Jessica. The whole country like you said watched the whole thing unfold over 56 hours when she fell down an 8inch well pipe. I was not very old but I still remember every house had the tv on the same channel and it was all anybody talked about. Baby jessica was saved and I remember it like it was yesterday but my heart goes out to you because now as a father stories like Alfredos bring me to tears.
The story was so sad.. seemed like so much incompetence that could have prevented his death. I also don’t see how the men could be lowered all the way to Alfredo but couldn’t tie the rope to him or hold him as they were pulled back up but who knows.. tragic.
@@AdamGee8 Thank you for your thoughtful response. The tragedy of Alfredo's story indeed leaves many of us questioning what could have been done differently. While it's natural to look for explanations or assign blame in hindsight, the reality of such rescue operations is often far more complex than it appears from the outside. The rescuers faced extreme challenges - a narrow, winding shaft, frigid temperatures, and the constant risk of further cave-ins. Their efforts, though ultimately unsuccessful, were carried out under immense pressure and dangerous conditions. Regarding why they couldn't simply tie a rope to Alfredo or pull him up - remember that he was stuck waist-deep in mud at the bottom of the well. This, combined with hypothermia and exhaustion, likely made it nearly impossible to securely attach him to a rope or maintain a grip while being pulled up. While there were certainly missteps along the way, it's important to recognize that everyone involved was desperately trying to save this young boy's life. Tragedies like this highlight the unpredictable nature of accidents and the limitations we sometimes face in rescue efforts, despite our best intentions.

These stuck in tight tunnel stories get me every time. This waterpark beam story and the Nutty Putty Cave Incident are the fuel that nightmares are made of for me.
I hope everyone hears the story first.....so don't read my comment until you do because spoilers. Anyway, they should have done their plan they started 7 hours in, at the beginning...if I'm in a car accident and trapped in a car, I don't want rescue crews taking seven hours to figure out that they should use the jaws of life on the car door. Sometimes, city officials seem to place a higher value on property, than an actual human being who is trapped. Also, I am sure it was just extreme heat that did the poor guy in. Anyone trapped for seven hours in brutal heat is not going to live, it doesn't matter, especially when it's hot metal burning your body at the same time. It's nightmare fuel for me as well.

The electrician on the oil rig is the perfect reason you ALWAYS carry a knife. As soon as it was obvious you were going through that mouse hole, any drop was preferable (only 10 feet)...you cut your way out of the harness. I never went anywhere without at least one fixed blade knife on me when out to sea.
For sure. Also are we supposed to think they don't use walkie talkies and it's all screaming and gut feeling for the guy that presses the button, considering that he apparently doesn't even look at what's happening? How was the guy going to know when he have to stop if he didn't pay attention from the first to the last second? Either use a walkie talkie or pay attention until everything is sorted. Sounds like BS on MrBallen's side(aka he made up the story where the guy presses the button and then starts looking at the sky or whatever with his back towards everyone. He's done it on a lot of stories). Surely there is more to the story. The one with the ship screams murder. No way in hell that can happen. A person is missing and no one thoroughly checks the most dangerous place? Also it doesn't really sound plausible that a person might be dead and everyone is "oh well business as usual". Surely they will try to find him immediately if he has fallen in the water(if that's what they guess) and not just leave after an hour lol.
This! I worked as a biologist on commercial fishing boats and we were required to always carry a knife on us in case we needed to quickly cut ourselves free from ropes and lines.
When I met my husband, he always carried a knife in his boot, on his waistband and then in his vehicle. I should have been freaked out about it at the start til I learned being with him is a great way to ensure my safety as he’s always hyper aware of his surroundings. Our 16 year old son keeps a pocket knife in his vehicle and carries one often when he can especially at the farm. He offered to get knife at school when an outside project would have gone easier with it versus the scissors and teacher reminded him no weapons on school grounds. We aren’t making him remove it from vehicle because it’s truly for his safety. He can cut himself out of seatbelt, he can defend himself and others, use it in a pinch over a screwdriver, etc. He also carries a steel plate in his book bag. His school is extremely safe and small but you never know when there could be an active shooter, a tornado and needs to better protect his head, etc. My husband has an electro mechanical degree and works in a steel mill and is a former firefighter.
Besides all things people have told about why Mr. Ballen is such a good story teller I want to add another thing: your clear and proper English. Most other English narrators tend to have an accent and speak too mumbly. For me as a non native English speaker it's so easy to follow his stories because I literally understand every word. And when it's a word not so familiar MrBallen usually tries to explain what that specific word means.
That's a really interesting perspective and I agree. For non-natural English speakers especially, I'd imagine it would make a big difference. I don't know if you fall into that category but it makes sense.
Yes, as someone whose native language also isn't English, I completely agree. Some videos in other channels I struggle to understand, and sometimes have to turn on subtitles to try and get what's being said. That has never been needed with Mr. Ballen's videos!
@@Percept2024lol, why did you take this as if OP said "all English speakers talk mumbly"? OP said "most other English narrators". Also, this is a problem most non-native speakers have with any language that is isn't our own, it's not unique to English or other idioms. This is why you feel like other idioms are mumbly and fast.
Alfredo story brings me to tears every time. I can feel the pain and worry drain from my child when I hold her and his mother not being able to do the same breaks my heart
Some of these stories can be really heartbreaking. It’s obviously always sad but sometimes it’s really a “there was nothing anyone could do” story, like the women who’s feet suck in the dirt and kept her trapped on a flooding road. Sometimes though, it’s a “there were five million points where a life could have been saved or this could have just been avoided entirely” and that is so frustratingly sad
The one with Alfredo is the absolute worst. I would have tied a rope around a tree and around myself and gone to get the poor little dude myself. Even if I got stuck down there too at least the boy wouldn't be alone. He at least would have someone to hold him while he died.
@zeonmoo192 I don't know but it's heartbreaking. I can't believe they all dithered around at the start for so long, I'm like just go down there, there's a child crying for his Mum there, if you can't get him up straight away then get someone down to him. If there was another person there with him they could have kept him warm and comforted him. I know it was a narrow hole but there were people that could fit, I would have fitted, I'm a tiny girl and honestly I would have rather been down there and died with him than up on the surface. No child should die alone crying for their mama.
Every time I hear the "mouse hole" story it gets worse! I can't imagine the kind of fear and agony Gordon went through. My prayers to his family, no one should ever have to experience something that horrific!!
It's unexcusable. I worked on oil rigs. We had radios EVERYWHERE. There's no excuse for there not to be a rig phone or radio in the wench operator's office.
Mr. Ballen is definitely #1 in my book .. best narrator and story teller by far .. it's his animation .. his tone and enthusiasm and he just has an awesome voice !
Hey Mr ballen! I really enjoy your videos. You find really interesting stories and tell them in such a great way. But I wanted to comment to say congratulations on the live shows and to have your first one sold out?! That’s incredible and you totally deserve it. I bet that was a really cool experience for you! Best wishes on your future endeavors as well! 😊

Yea dude, that's what I was thinking....I just don't believe that, neither of the two guys thought it odd for clothes to be sticking out of a piston, while at the same time Kurt is missing....I call bullshit*t and fould play...
I WAS THINKING THIS TOO!! Maybe the guy that was with him when they first were checking the pistons, was mad that he was called lazy. So he locked him in there. And when they were going to check for Kurt, he didn’t want to get caught from locking him in there. So he ran down there and said he already checked it😮
Had to have been because how would you not be banging against the hatches while the engines were off and he called out dude earlier the only one that was down there with him? Hmm I wonder if the former was the one who said he went back to his room he probably never did
The Alfredo one breaks my heart. Just think of falling down that well and a bunch of idiots makes horrible decisions to try and rescue you causing your death.
I've been watching Mr. Ballen for a couple years but he has gotten me and my SO through countless hours of being in the hospital and the endless Dr appointments, chemo, etc! He tells a story better than most and takes me away into the story and away from "reality" for a bit ... And reminds me not to do those same impetuous things I used to do that will wind up with ME as the star in one of his stories! 😂 Thank you Mr. Ballen PLEASE never stop!
Hi John Wow amazing stories those poor people my heart broke for them . R.I.P all who passed away 😢. Thanks for sharing with us love to you as always Tracey England UK 💕💕💕💕
every single one of these is such a good lesson in crisis management. the last four could all have been easily avoided if people paid attention, were careful and thorough, thought things through, and got help when they should’ve. caring more than you think is necessary could save a life, and it’s not that hard to do.
It's remarkable that that water slide didn't have some sort of a plastic or metal cap to prevent things and people from falling in. Even just to keep water out.
I am an autistic person, and Sundays are the hardest days for me because there's no routine and a lot of family comes to visit and they're loud and I am very sensitive to sounds. Since I found Mr. Ballen's channel, though, Sundays are a little easier, because I have a new Mr. Ballen video to look forward to. Also, when I'm watching one of his videos, I get very immersed and can almost completely forget the noises outside my bedroom. Thank you so much, Mr. Ballen!
I was never claustrophobic until I started listening to Mr. Ballen then everytime I listen to stories where people are stuck and die, it made me that way
That first story was an example of how scary and tragic addiction is. As an Arizonan, I understand the heat he was experiencing. My friends, family, and I have been talking about how nice it is being only in the low 100s right now.
the fact that poor Ryan managed to wedge himself into a hot metal pipe surrounded by 3 swimming pools during an Arizona heat wave is such a poetically tragic example of just how serious drug addiction can get 😢 rest in peace, Ryan ❤
@@mjokffsgfjsWhen people deal with trauma, grief, depression and other life changing strokes of fate, it's very easy to fall victim to drug addiction. Be kind and not so judgemental.
@@station12a no no no and no. Trauma does not justify drug addiction. Drug addiction is like a garden. You buy a pack of seeds. You know what these seeds are and how they grow. Once I realized these stories were old uploads, I assumed I'd be able to sit through them without experiencing as much anxiety this time around. Nope, they actually felt more horrific because I knew exactly what was coming as soon as he began giving details and I had to sit and wait for it to happen, ultimately causing more anxiety instead of less. I've heard all sorts of horrifying stories, especially from MrBallen, but I feel pretty confident in saying that the ship story and the oil rig story will always be two of the most anxiety-inducing stories I will ever come across. Damn, they're rough.
@jus10lewissr really? Once you know what happened and the story is ingrained, all I think is we got a 10 minute new story that was 5/10 and he wants to sell lots of tickets and be real famous.
Hey MrB, my father (dad, pops) passed away 3 days ago. I've not slept since. I suffer from insomnia anyway, along with depression, PTSD and anxiety, but that doesn't matter right now. I build Navy ships, and even when it's not an immediate threat, getting locked in some of those spaces definitely triggers something in the brain. I had just returned to work after bilateral wrist surgery and someone closed an overhead hatch locking me in the steering gear room, definitely an eerie feeling
I wonder if it's a feeling similar to being buried alive. I think I remember someone, perhaps my father, recounting a story about being trapped in on old supermarket walk-in freezer (1950's, I believe) that didn't have the interior push button door release/ fire axe/ panic button like some current models have. A co-worker was playing a joke on him, but the storyteller said he was ready to fight after he was released.
MrBallen is doing a public service with these videos, making sure none of us take stupid risks, go places we shouldn’t (especially without telling anyone), or act negligently around dangerous objects or machinery. I salute you MrBallen🫡
that last story was so personal my grandfather used to work on oil ricks my mother was younger. he said it was dangerous. You can’t afford to be negligent when it comes to safety. You can’t afford to be negligent. But when people lies are at state, you definitely don’t wanna mess up anything equipment may cost money, but it can be replaced you can’t replace a person.
I listened to the story about the man in the harness being pulled to the mouse hole one time... every time it comes back up on my feed, I absolutely can not listen to it again... most horrific death I've ever heard of.
Hoist operator should have been prosecuted. You don't just stare out the window while operating heavy machinery, period. Anyone with half a brain cell in their head would know that.
I watched your channel for years, and a lot has changed. You story telling is probably some of the best in the world now. The way you move and emphasise certain words really adds atmosphere to the story. The language you use paints such a perfect picture, too. I'm not sure if you have an editor now, but the modest use of sound effects are perfect. They aren't persistent but blend in amazingly with your storytelling. I can tell you love doing this and I'm so happy you've made a name for yourself doing it. Big love from UK bro, if you ever want to tour here then I'd love to come see you.
Couple things don't make sense in the first story: 1. If the staff had been hearing the screaming coming from the pool area, why the heck would they not have called the police themselves? 2. Did nobody think to do something to cool the pipe down?? they are literally in a pool area, surely they could have gotten a hose at least and hosed down the pipe to cool it down?? Not only that, but if official rescue teams were called in like the fire department, they should have known to do something about the pipe being hot, there's a lot they could do to cool the pipe down, like put up some shade etc, well before they could have gotten a crane out there to pull the pipe out of the ground. I find it hard to believe that the rescue team would have made such a big oversight as to let the guy cook to death in there.

Oh man!!! These stories triggered my claustrophobia, and brought back horrible memories of a time where I got stuck in a horizontal tube connecting two furnaces in a ore Mill, I was seconds away from being cremated alive!!! It was only by the grace of God that the Mill operator was not able to light the furnace, another mechanic was called to trouble shoot the mill when he saw the rear hatch was open and instead of just closing the hatch he climbed up and looked in and saw my feet about 10ft away. They rigged a rope with a noose and were able to secure it on my feet and pull me out.... I got my ass chewed out for not having a 'spotter' with me when I went into the tube, and the Operator got chewed out for not doing a final inspection like he was supposed to; the kicker to this story is once I was out and the hatch was closed the furnace fired up as if nothing was ever wrong... So before you make such disgusting remarks remember that not only are you saying this about people who lost their child in a horrific way but that you’re NOT perfect and have made mistakes too. Try having some compassion for others.
@@ThirtytwoJI’m so sorry!! I wish there was a way I could help you!! But don’t give up!!
@katz0625 Easy now. Walter is another (presumably) childless person who assumes if children aren't monitored 24/7 it's the parent's fault, as if they grew up being watched in shifts.
I think the foreman knew he was in there. I don't think he went back to check the tube alone. I think it was murder on that ship.
I was thinking the same thing too@@tiffanymichaels2429
I suspect foul play at work in that particular story.
You always say no watches no rings no dangling things.
that oil rig story was the first mrballen story i ever heard. i wasn't sure at first that was the one he was telling but dear god it lives rent free in my head.

It's not the first time Mr. Ballen has retold stories. Especially the really popular ones, or ones he may have told quite some time ago -for enhancement of overall story time including effects, backgrounds, or maybe new or undiscovered details.
He also has a lot going on right now & the live shows. He works a lot on this stuff! Give the man a break. He also is constantly getting new subscribers who may never have heard them otherwise the retelling.

This is what I thought
I recently learned that the woman from the America Sings incident was from my home town, and was actually friends with my grandmother. My grandma was telling me about a friend of hers that had died working a theme park attraction, and when she started telling me what happened, I immediately remembered the original video you did on this! I think I surprised her when I said the name of the ride before she did.
My fiancé worked for Disney at the time and was actually outside of the theater when it happened. He had no idea that anything was going on until later.
I wish Debbie had used profane language. They would have known it wasn't a part of the show.
@@sharonsmalls6846 I'd hope to never see them in charge of anything but a water bottle ever again after that incident.

@@sharonsmalls6846 That's what I was thinking, as fast as possible get those screams out, " help, Debbie, Backwall fucking help..' Awful and tragic.
Happiest place on Earth!!! I wonder what lengths they went to to try to make this go away and/or keep it from causing any controversy or backlash
@MamaMOB right?

I seriously doubt ppl thought it was part of the show, they just didn't want to deal with it, how awful
This is what i don't get.
The staff have to have done that show hundreds of times.
What part of the show had a woman screaming bloody murder?
The Disney story sounds like something out of a movie. Surprisingly, I remember the details of this story. I also remembered the 4th story. I usually don't remember these stories because MrBallen has made so many episodes. I forget over time. This Disney one really stuck in my mind.
I've seen other creators cover the story of Debbie, but none of them explained the way the stage works as well as you. Knowing how the stage works and what she went through makes it an even more horrific story! Bless her soul.
I cannot listen to that one again 😬😳.
@@RandiSmith-gw8sq and they’re able to do that discreetly due to the maintenance tunnels sprawling throughout the park

I remain utterly agitated about all the "professionals" completely disregarding the spelunker, who was the most knowledgeable, experienced and professional person out of them regarding the situation. But, oh no... he is a civilian so what does he know about rescuing someone?
Him crying saying that he wanted his mom.. I'm assuming she was there too at the scene, so imagine how painful that was :(
I am physically trying to recover from that story.. I have a very petite, almost 9 year old adventurous little guy, and I am in a cold sweat and shaking... I haven't even finished the video... time to go lay in the grass...

He was under the influence. He probably thought he could get out.
The Nutty Putty cave fatality springs to mind for me , I’d never heard of this until our very own Mr Ballen did the story. John Edward Jones became stuck and died in the cave after being trapped inside for 27-28 hours, horrific
It's probably the meth. I doubt he would do that sober.
Meth afflicted people have no sense of reality. It causes psychosis. It is the worst drug ever imo. I've never done it but I've watched people I love disintegrate into something unrecognizable. I see people under its influence every day and I hate knowing what it looks like. The effects are more obvious the longer people are active in their addiction.

I've seen every MrBallen episode, but I still watch the replays. I never remember the details, so it's pretty much like watching a brand new episode.
The different errors that occurred in that 2nd story is so frustratingly tragic.
Some idiots defaced his grave a couple of years ago, with swastikas. I will never understand some people.

Nothing strange about retelling old stories over again
The first story was new just like every Sunday. I thought I'd try something different and add on some fan favorites with also a similar theme to the new story. My editors are champing at the bit to show off their skills freshening up older material. Do you think it takes away from the regular new story?

It’s absurd how there are so many people who ignore certain sounds whether it’s of an animal or of a person! I still would want to find out what the sound is about, in case it’s a person or animal! If those people who heard it before hand the poor man would be alive today! Rest in peace Ryne!
THANK YOU. This is the comment I was looking for, I can't believe how far I had to scroll to find it. I was thinking, "are we just gonna casually brush past the fact that those workers said they heard the sound for a while and hadn't bothered to alert authorities or do anything about it??" The police didn't think to question them on that ?? How could they hear those sounds and just ignore them?? You'd think you'd wanna know what it was, animal or not.... and if there's a possibility it's a person, why tf would you just ignore it?!

Debbies story is the most memorable for me. I cannot fathom the fear she was going through knowing, an audience is watching/listening to you die.
Yeah same here they were all brutal but Debbie's was the worst for me followed by Kurt and then Oil Rig guy. Just the insanity of hearing someone screaming their head off in the vicinity of a ride that has a known safety hazard absolutely blows my mind as well as the fact there were multiple opportunities for someone to have stopped the ride and found her. That being said depending on her condition after even the first stage transition I'm not sure you would want to...
It’s just stupid the workers convinced them self it was okay umm if you work there and on that specific thing wouldn’t you know what normal sounds it makes and what sound it shouldn’t make especially if someone it screaming help oh that’s just the show they must of added it in after the last group of people left and not told any of the workers

The level of incompetence of people never ceases to amaze me. So many people just don't want to do their job.
These stuck in tight tunnel stories get me every time. This waterpark beam story and the Nutty Putty Cave Incident are the fuel that nightmares are made of for me.
Exactly. Same for me. Being trapped especially in a small space is a nightmare for me!
Same😩 the panic you would feel would be off the charts
@@briondalionYou'd think they would bring in something to cool down the pipe? No way to cut it without causing sparks or heat...
But, when will safety "engineers" realize that anything larger than 3" needs to have some kind of cap on it?! But, then again there are warning labels telling people not to stick pets in microwaves and ovens to dry them off... 🤔
Fixed blade is key there smart
I'm glad you're still doing this series. It's the main reason I watch and I've really missed their absence.
Mumbly ?? It is people who speak non-English languages ( like yours ) who speak FAST and MUMBLY !!
That's a really interesting perspective and I agree. For non-natural English speakers especially, I'd imagine it would make a big difference. I don't know if you fall into that category but it makes sense.
Well doesn’t everyone has an accent?
MrBallen has an accent too, just because he’s easier for you to understand doesn’t mean he doesn’t
This is why you feel like other idioms are mumbly and fast.

these stories are horrific :( ......that little italian boy :( ....thanks John for telling us amazing stories , you really one of a kind
@@Danica.PowellThat one baffled me! And why couldn't they have lowered down food, water, and blankets to keep him safe and warm while he waited?
@zeonmoo192 I don't know but it's heartbreaking. I can't believe they all dithered around at the start for so long, I'm like just go down there, there's a child crying for his Mum there, if you can't get him up straight away then get someone down to him. If there was another person there with him they could have kept him warm and comforted him. I know it was a narrow hole but there were people that could fit, I would have fitted, I'm a tiny girl and honestly I would have rather been down there and died with him than up on the surface. No child should die alone crying for their mama.
the lady stuck in mud gave me nightmares

Best wishes on your future endeavors as well! 😊
These are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE of all of ballens vids. Really these "places you cant go series" is what originally drew me in to the early days of ballen.
so stupid how ballen now is telling the same old stories and making excuses that they will sound like new stories when no they dont they sound exactly the same just shows this channel is running out of stories to tell wich is scummy thing to do time to unsub i guess
i guess u also like if ballen keeps reposting same stories over and over becuz he run out of stories to tell and just keeps reposting content and claim its "new" cuz he tells it differently wich is just huge bs

24:30 Kurt was setup !! ☠️
Yea dude, that's what I was thinking....I just don't believe that, neither of the two guys thought it odd for clothes to be sticking out of a piston, while at the same time Kurt is missing....I call bullshit*t and fould play...
@@christianromero6604 right! Betting they locked him in there on purpose.
Hmm I wonder if the former was the one who said he went back to his room he probably never did
Yup👆🏻👇🏼
The Alfredo one breaks my heart. Just think of falling down that well and a bunch of idiots makes horrible decisions to try and rescue you causing your death.
Poor little guy 💔 So damn sad
They all wanted to take credit for being "the hero"
This guy is genuinely the best story teller that I’ve ever heard like these stories are so good and like just I don’t know just so good
I've been watching Mr.
Insane that the rig making so much money doesn't even have radio contact between workers especially in such a dangerous place and situations
an almost 50 minute mrballen video? best Sunday EVER!

Ballen!
Sending lots of love and comfort vibes your way ❤

Shouldn't do drugs in the first place.
@@mjokffsgfjsWhen people deal with trauma, grief, depression and other life changing strokes of fate, it's very easy to fall victim to drug addiction. Be kind and not so judgemental.
Demonic influence. They couldve sprayed and cooled the pipe tho
@@station12a no no no and no. Trauma does not justify drug addiction. Drug addiction is like a garden. You buy a pack of seeds. You know what these seeds are and how they grow. When you CHOOSE to plant the seeds and water them you can expect a plant to grow. It is the damn 21st century. It's not a guarded secret what these drugs do to people. When you CHOOSE to use those things for the first time then you CHOOSE to be an addict. I have no sympathy for stupid people.
@@station12ajust be a fking man.. whatever you're going through always know that there are people out there going through worse and they don't do drugs to cope with it, they just learn to accept the situation and find a solution or move on.. whatever happened to him, it's all his fault, doing meth and going in a public place right after that is like asking for trouble so don't wonder why sht went wrong afterwards

I agree. One new story and promoting a new book.

Hey MrB, my father (dad, pops) passed away 3 days ago. I've not slept since. I suffer from insomnia anyway, along with depression, PTSD and anxiety, but that doesn't matter right now. While I've been laying in bed, trying to feel something, I've been listing to you MrBallen. Thank you for all you do, keeping people comfy and sound. I'm a huge fan.
That is scary, I wonder if anyone working in dangerous areas could have walkie talkies, unless they wouldn’t transmit through the ship?
MrBallen is doing a public service with these videos, making sure none of us take stupid risks, go places we shouldn’t (especially without telling anyone), or act negligently around dangerous objects or machinery. I salute you MrBallen🫡
And don't even think about meth!
that last story was so personal my grandfather used to work on oil ricks my mother was younger. he said it was dangerous. You can’t afford to be negligent when it comes to safety. You can’t afford to be negligent. But when people lies are at state, you definitely don’t wanna mess up anything equipment may cost money, but it can be replaced you can’t replace a person.
I’ve been here since the beginning and I truly feel like a proud mom seeing John having so much success! He so deserves it too! ❤
The Guy inside the Ship IS for me the Most scarry story😢😢😢
I watched your channel for years, and a lot has changed. You story telling is probably some of the best in the world now. The way you move and emphasise certain words really adds atmosphere to the story. The language you use paints such a perfect picture, too. I'm not sure if you have an editor now, but the modest use of sound effects are perfect. They aren't persistent but blend in amazingly with your storytelling. I can tell you love doing this and I'm so happy you've made a name for yourself doing it. Big love from UK bro, if you ever want to tour here then I'd love to come see you.
Same as this person... Except Canadian way, maybe after a UK tour or something
Couple things don't make sense in the first story:

I guess it just wasn't my time to die!! I've been claustrophobic ever since.......
