If Maguire, Mctominay and co are played this season then it's on the club, they need to know they're not wanted and they have to leave! Tbf a manager isn’t going to publicly say he wants a player to leave, but if he’s prepared to play them a lot of it’s on the manager because he is facilitating it, he picks the team. You may say he doesn’t have a choice but it’s part of the problem.

Casemiro is not a huge problem. Just had a poor season due to injuries, fitness, and being played out of position. He could have a season like he did before last. Yes, big wages and is not a long-term solution but perhaps he wants to stay to proof he still got it compared to some of the other players who never had it to begin with.
He's not started so well as yet.

@@oskar8421 I’d actually be very happy with that roster, providing we can manage Maguire as the 4th choice CB. If he starts to be disruptive then having a former captain kicking up a fuss could mess up squad morale.. but if he knuckles down he’s still a solid option for this season

If you mean we need multiple high quality players to have a competitive squad - then read my comment again fella as I’m agreeing with you! My only concern is that we get the squad dynamic right and at this stage of his career Maguire potentially might not be the most suitable for that role.

Hi Mark. I’ve been a member for 7 months and plan to stay a member for a very long time to come because I love the content! I agree that AWB is a good defender, but he is limited in his style of play and doesn’t suit the vision of ETH. If we can get Mazaroui and De Ligt by selling AWB, it’s a great deal for us! I’m loving all the updates as always!

I really do not get why united does not do the same thing as Ajax for Example. The manager just announced today that 4 players are not part of the plans of the first team any more and have to train with the reserves and they need to look for another club. After the transfer window you can always maybe get back on them. But this definitly give a clear signal to those players. United should do this aswell i think

The only reason to sell AWB is probably because his contract is running out . Instead of renewing at a higher salary , United can replace him with a long term player with lower salary.
Otherwise AWB is an asset to team , committed, does not complain , and can Defend! So much hassle to replace a good rotational player ? This can only be a financial move ,not a footballing move.

A little out there but I’d have loved to have nabbed Renato Sanches from PSG while his stock is quite low, a good deal could of been had with him I still believe there’s a player in there he has all the physical attributes to benefit United but just needs a coach like ten hag to instill some confidence in him and develop him tactically and you could of had a brilliant midfielder for pennies

AWB is needed for certain matches against highly skilled wingers. He is defensively one of the best in his position. He can be a good back or in rotation. We need the depth badly in defense. We can't play Casamiro in defense and expect to be challenging for titles

I do think chiesa is a quality player and I feel we need abit more experience and quality out wide as nacho and Amad are still not the finished player. People who want AWB to stay may forgot how many goals he costs us with his lack of back post positional awareness under OGS. Doesn’t 4 years enough for a player to prove his worth, we have seen him enough to move on from him and move upwards.

We have all known from last season what we needed players wise and we still haven't addressed those issues. We used to buy the best or potentially the best now we buy nobody's. Take Fernandez , Carnacho and Dalot out who do we really have. Its gonna take a long time to regenerate this overpaid underperforming squad who we cant sell and knowone wants.

Keeping Maguire makes no sense at all, the club have bought Yoro and will hopefully also buy De Ligt to play a high line, Maguire can’t play a high line as he is too slow and turns like a barge on a canal.
We're not selling anybody besides Wan Bissaka which means we'll get the Mazroaui deal done, I'm surprised there has been no here we go today. That's ridiculous. The glazers have yet again f*cked up Manchester United's transfer window allowing crap players on high wages, it's a disgrace and that's why united aren't going to succeed this season. Well Ineos should have never bought their 25percent in the first place and allowed a full ownership to buy the club and clear the debt so we could have written off and payed off some of these stupid contracts. Thats what they could have done, the Glazers are still here coz of Ineos dont ever forget that.
New contracts need to somehow or other be tied in the the existing manager: manager gets sacked then contacts become basic but renegotiable. Would most likely be tricky but I am sure something could be done along this line.

Give the youth players a chance , bring them through now and stop buying these rubbish players . Lots of all are all time best players have been brought up through the ranks over the years . Utd and Barcelona of old had the most dominant and successful periods in foitball history with squads packed with players brought through the academy's.
We cap buying these stop cap players in midfield like Amrbat and upfront like Weghorst now a right back who is no better but more expensive than the one who is leaving. There is no logic in that surely.
For me Fish, Rhys and Evans are the starting Cb just get rid of Maguire and Lindelof.
