Wow, I can't wrap my head around the fact that you actually made a video talking about something I created. Even if it's not necessarily in a good light, it's still surreal to me since I've watched your content for some time. There are some things I really want to clarify: I have no idea where you've heard that I don't care about my series or that I make it only to sell shirts; that is not true. I made the first couple of episodes just for fun, but since it blew up, I really want to improve and try my hand at something new for each episode, like animation or voice acting. I age-restricted episode 6 myself since this was around the time I realized that there were a lot of kids watching my series. ''The Painter'' is intended for an 18+ audience. I had no idea that so many young people in the community were watching when I started. Also, the episode was planned out way before any controversy started, it was not a response to angry people on Twitter. Speaking of... Please don't take anything I do on Twitter seriously. A lot of people know me solely from Twitter by now, but I really only use that site to troll. I don't really care if anyone hates my work, I'm very aware that it's extreme and provocative. I get the criticism about the writing being shit. Art and music are things I've done my whole life, and they're what I mainly want to put out there with the series. I've never done writing before, and telling a story with deep lore etc was never the point. However, there's definitely more to it. There's a bunch of hidden things in the episodes, from one-frame puzzles to clues in the audio design. I even think there's stuff people still haven't found. Seeing the community come together to figure out the name of the painter was really cool. There's more there, even if it's not that deep. And while the presentation is a bit janky (mostly because English isn't my first language), it's one of my favorite aspects of the series. If I ever made a remaster of the series, I would keep all the spelling mistakes etc in. I like the camp. Lastly, hearing you say that I have talent made me really happy. Like I said, I've been enjoying your content for a long time, and I hope that I can create something that you can also enjoy in the future. Rob is a great guy, and I'm so glad to see his project grow. In fact, it might be the first analog horror series I decide to watch, thanks to how you talk about it. Say hi to Papa Meat for me. Much love.
Oh yeet, dunno if this is real but mad respect if it is o7 I don’t think anything you’ve made is any worse than stuff like Lisa or Lacey. Hope you can improve your stuff in the way that you want to/build your skillset to create new stuff.
The cops not checking the pipes for a body after finding a painting titled "man in the pipes" is the most realistic thing that happens in any episode of the painter.
I hate when people criticize how incompetent the police are in the painter It's terrifyingly realistic, one of the only semi-good writing moments of that series imo Edit: phrasing
My local PD is under FBI investigation for extreme negligence and incompetence of this sort 😅 they let a serial CHOMO walk free for years and when they did arrest him, he SOMEHOW escaped twice👀
@@sefflikejeff1917 i would agree if this was just a weird unexplained case thing, but if you are facing against a killer as infamous as the painter, why the hell are they not going above and beyond
The creator's excuse is that there was never any intent to add "lore" behind any of the images, when thats not really the issue. In fact, I think the art would have been far more interesting, engaging, and impactful without any of the text or writing. I really liked the visual art that urbanspook made, but the mini stories accompanying it just made it feel cheap. THIS guy got murdered and then THIS kid got murdered and then THIS mother got MURDERED. Okay, we get it. The brutality of the text doesn't add anything to the art. Instead of letting the reader's imagination run wild when viewing the art, you get beat over the head with forced text imagery that doesn't even always make sense with the picture. Its like the DEFINITION of telling rather than showing. He's surprised theres lots of children watching the series when its formatted and written in a way that is mostly appealing to young demographics, with how it insists on revealing everything and telling you what to think.
@@balltoball1personally I believe that in a way boundaries should be pushed, csa and other horrid stuff could be used in media to show how evil people are but it was done well imo
@@Nathan_Affronti It isn't okay to sell a shirt of a painting of a CSA victim I just really want to say that. That isn't pushing a boundary for horror, it's just kind of being a shitty person.
Patrick: Can you slow down with the killings? I'm running out of time cards here! edit - or even better "Can you police hurry up and catch the criminal, I'm running out of time cards here!"
"yeah so, little Billy is causing quite a ruckus in class, and as much as I have taken him aside to talk to him he still doesn't behave quite as diligently and responsibly as we here in this institution would like, let's just say I know little Billy has some issues, I'd prefer you, as the parents set him aside and work with him, as my job here as a teacher should be to help these kids and aid them in their education."
The painter was literally seven episodes of: "After Ben Dovers mysterious disappearance 6 days ago, his car was found three days ago which lead to his discovery 4 days ago. He was stabbed 69,420 times, had his head and ripped off, his chest torn open and his heart replaced with his cock.". Like fuck it just gets broing after hours of person goes missing person found horribly murdered.
Hey idk if anyone will see this but YT won't let me respond to urban spooks comment so I'll do it here cause I NEED to rant about this. First of all he did say that the only point of the series was to promote his stupid shirts which implies that he doesn't care about the series. Second, yeah SURE you DEFINITELY weren't having a baby meltdown on twitter and were just trolling. 100 percent I believe you for sure buddy. Now lots pretend for a moment that you actually WERE trolling, if I'm being honest that wouldn't make your case any better cause now not only are you ashit writer and director your now a shit writer and director that responds to mostly honest criticism with shitposts and bate. Fuck I'm just so annoyed by that bullshit and I hope he knows that this video doesn't paint him in a light that should make him proud to have been in a Wendigoon vid.
I feel like it gets too disturbing as well where it’s not scary it just makes you uncomfortable where you’re like “man I don’t wanna hear this” and then it gets repetitive where you’re like “wow who knew sally who had a twin would get sewn to her other twin” just repetitive
Urbanspook innutshell : Her arms were cut off. Her legs were cut off. Her ears were cut off. Her tongue was cut off. Her nose was cut off. Her eyeballs were plucked out. Her eyebrows were then waxed. Her tongue was sliced open. Her hair was cut off.
That's really weird and funny - made me think of a Painter knockoff, but instead of gore it's about makeup: Her hair cut freshly, her eyes black with a thick layer of eyeliner, her mouth still glistening with fresh red lipstick - she was found in the basement, sleeping.
The phonecall from the teacher was probably the most disturbing part of the painter, even though compared to everything else in the series it was the most 'tame'. There was no heavy mutilation, sexual violence, or anything insane. It was the realism of it, combined with the amazing voice work that really sold the scene. If he focused more on things like that, it would be an amazing series
I personally find it a bit much; there's a difference between something being terrifying and something being disturbing, and this is also somewhat prevalent in Greylock as well. That might just be me though.
@CreatorofSecks honestly get what your saying but in the context the murders were already known by the public because of the paintings of their victims being released to the public especially when they keep appearing murder after murder plus preety sure either me or you would scream our eyes out when two killers that look like a derange spongebob and Patrick bust in kill your husband brutally then drill a hole on you and leave you to die
I love the fact that during the Voice mimicry, the monster goes from mimicking police radio to mimicking birds chirping, it's like it's switching between similar sounds, or slipping up.
Yeah and I LOVE that it mimicks the sounds almost perfectly instead of the warped distorded sounds that other type of mimics typically uses, which is like the whole point is to lure people out. Ngl this might be me being an idiot that would absolutely get got by one of these things but the first time I watched the episode I genuinely thought it *was* just the police coming to his house to arrest him for a fraction of a second until I realised why tf would the police be entering through a basement? Absolutely genius audio design, take notes Gabriel
ok but the guy getting covered in candle wax in the painter may actually be one of the funniest things ive seen in a horror series its so ridiculous. like these two guys entered this dudes house with industrial amounts of hot candle wax and covered him in it along with adding a random arm from some person we dont even know. honestly incredible
i've watched SO many videos about the painter and NONE of them have talked about how absurd it is. it literally became a running joke between me and a friend because it was way funnier than it was scary.
Holy cow, thank you for saying such wonderful things about GREYLOCK!! This is a dream come true, and I am beyond thrilled you've enjoyed it so much. This is like Christmas for me. I've been such a big fan, so to hear that you're a fan of my work too is just absolutely absurd. Thank you for all you do, Wendigoon. Also, I cannot even explain to you how freaking stoked I am for your podcast with Papa Meat. You guys are legitimately making my favorite content on UA-cam right now, so I seriously can't wait! P.S. Since a lot people have been wondering about the GREYLOCK "team", I'll clarify that here: Rob is the creator/writer/director/producer, and I'm the co-producer/editor, and I do most of the VFX, sound and music. Other than outsourcing people for voice acting, Rob and I are creating everything you see. Rob's the mastermind behind it all, and I help bring his vision to life. It's a very hands-on process for both of us, and each episode is a collaborative effort that involves tons of back and forth between the two of us. Hopefully that's helpful!
cops entered the house and found a comically large cake in the kitchen next to a painting titled 'birthday barry', upon cutting the cake to enjoy a slice, the officers on scene found the body of barry wheeler with 600,000 stab wounds across his body with 48 birthday candles shoved down his peehole. barry was 36.
Pfff, Barry Wheeler didn’t survive the Bright Falls AWE only to be turned into cake. If anything he would’ve turned the killers into cake while ‘Children of the Elder God’ plays in the background.
i like how wendigoon tells me to watch the series before this video to not have my experience ruined like i am not a pathetic coward that has not and doesnt wish to ever watch anything related to horror media without it being a handsome man explaining it to me
Yeah, I do that a lot lol. I'm always interested in horror, but if it's good...I am scared of getting affected by it too much lol. Hence why I watched The Painter because it didn't actually sound scary, but it was kinda disturbing..but more in a "watching a documentary about serial killers" kind of thing lol.
Thank you so wickedly much for making a video covering GREYLOCK and giving your thoughts on it in such an in depth way. Your kind words are what help fuel us. To clarify a couple things: 1) This video contrasting the two series is interesting, because so many people in comments sections of videos oftentimes mention us both, despite how different our content is. Both have made impressions, it seems! Also, having spoken with UrbanSPOOK a number of times, I can vouch for him being a really cool, chill dude. I personally can’t wait to see what else he’s going to come out with, and I’ll be there for it. 2) The production team, as of right now, is just Matt Reeves and myself. I am the director, writer, producer, cinematographer, prop master, and handle casting voice talent, among a plethora of other things. I brought on Matt as a producer, as well, but also to help bring my visions to life through editing and with his stellar visual & special effects skillset. He’s originally a horror game dev who impressed me greatly, and I’m so thankful to have him working alongside me to really bring things to life. (You may also be able to expect video games in the future, but that’s a secret…) Some behind the scenes info that people may find interesting: ALL content uploaded to Greylock, I take and record onto an actual VHS cassette using a converter, then I loop it back to a digital file using another converter, so that everything you see has genuine VHS effects. Also, any cinematography you see has been filmed with actual analog camcorders from the 80s/90s. Any real props you see are genuine vintage items that I’ve purchased for this project (and there’s so much more of that to come lol). Anyway, TL;DR version: it’s been a ton of work, authenticity is my kink, and we’re so grateful for this video and the livestream you did. And such a MASSIVE thanks to all of you amazing Wendigoon fans who went to GREYLOCK to interact and follow along. Thank you a million times over. We’ll be seeing you soon. Things have only just begun. EDIT: Wanted to clarify that the Matt Reeves working with me is NOT the Hollywood director-totally different guy lol. Matt Reeves (who oftentimes goes by MattReevesProductions) is initially a game developer, and he has become a VFX specialist and a fantastic editor. I’ll tell him he needs to change his name if he wants to keep working for me, though. Don’t worry. Any ideas for a new name?? I’m thinking Jennifer or Tabitha. Just lemme know.
Holy shit, the process of creating GreyLock with actual vintage production is so fascinating and super cool, I love the dedication!!! Super excited to see where the series will continue to go, I'm hooked
So happy to see this! Rob was instrumental in giving me a kick in the ass to start making my creepy content. (We used to chat back when I was a patron on his Patreon) an I will ALWAYS be grateful for the encouragement and constructive criticism he gave me at the start. Disability has taken me away from creating for the past few years but hopefully in the next few months, I'll be back at it! I'm exhilarated to see him making something so fresh and exciting! Can't wait to see more! Sorry for rambling. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk...
Wendigoon being roasted for finding the Sus Jerma photo disturbing demonstrates what makes Wendi great - he isn't, and doesn't pretend to be, desensitised to horror and spooky things. love him for that!!
I remember the first time he played that clip and at first it was just the picture so i was like “hehe jerma sus” and then the warped music started playing and that alongside the fact i was cleaning a church while listening to the vid made it not funny at all anymore.

The, "It's a monster!" followed by the happy giggling of what is most likely a 3 year old child wiped me out emotionally when I watched that episode. I have a 2 year old who would 100% do this in the situation. The Horror of that moment is perfect.
Its so dark and morbid. Because its pretty clear that those were that child's last words before they were horrifically killed by whatever that creature is...
No seriously it’s horrifying. A kid I babysit makes monsters and she scared the ever loving fk outta me when I first saw her drawings and she proudly proclaimed “He’s my monster!” Like great I’m going to be the leading actress of a horror movie 😂 her mom let me know that she ‘just does that’ when she came home, but she could have saved me the heart attack!
fr like as soon as he mentions that Tiffany had possibly unalived herself, I thought, "Would you say she's...distraught at the sight of her missing infant?"
I honestly feel like Wendi is talking to urban spooks like a disappointed father or encouraging mentor. It’s very sweet of him wanting to see him flourish even with his issues with criticism. It’s just sweet overall
I guess it's because Wendi is not like an annoying Internet critic who thinks everything just saturates extremely fast after watching two Episodes of a Series. He watches them to make videos? Yeah of course But he also enjoys them as a fan, He wishes for them to bring the best they can as a Series, Explore new concepts, Develop characters, Be scary for the sake of Narrative. That's why i like him
i mean i guess but like using child rape as shock factor then selling an image of said shock factor on a shirt for like $40 is different from "having a flaw" honestly hope urbanspook never makes stuff again
The scariest part of this analog horror series was that we absolutely didn't get to hear Wendigoon go take a piss on stream and then rant about Twitch Chat misbehaving for half an hour while having an Identity crysis with his skeleton and saying that nobody would notice if the skeleton wearing headphones and a hawaiian shirt replaced him. Truly a huge missed opportunity.
@@therabidsquid432nerf9 if you missed it it’s in Wendi gang (wendis other channel) pretty sure the streams titled “watching greylock and the oldest view with the creators” or something like that it’s the most recent VOD that has greylock in the name. BY THE WAY-this was supposed to be in my original comment, but UA-cam’s comment system blows SO badly, so I’m putting it here in this separate comment… Thank you personally for the wicked crazy big heart things you said regarding my career/work outside of Greylock and the impact it’s had on you, dude. I’m very happy for your monumental success and it just blows my mind that I had ANY level of contribution to it whatsoever. To add on, you were my introduction to horror on UA-cam as well about 10 years ago. You're one of the OG's and deserve your flowers where it's due 💜 had no clue that the reason you changed your name was because UA-cam being dumb.
I don't think you truly grasp the impact you had on not just the horror side, but the entire UA-cam community as a whole! I remember watching your work many years ago and being so damn impressed by not just the quality of your videos but also the tremendous research that was put into them. Nowadays, there are a plethora of channels that are so reminiscent to your style that was done such a long time ago. Thank you for everything man and Greylock is such an amazing piece of work, I can't wait to see where it goes and then to see what comes next!
holy shit man I remember watching your seriously strange videos back in the day all those years ago, I had no idea you were behind greylock, great on you for making a kickass horror series dude, you deserve the success.
Urbanspook: Her legs and arms were cut off and stuffed into her ears and nostrils. Her eyes were gouged out and put into her mouth and her neck was twisted 360 degrees. The killer also stitched balls onto her specifically to cut them off. A photo was found titled "Doo-doo fart Lara".
1:10:38, okay but imagine that the killers are actually art themselves? Like some painter used a cursed brush to make his art come alive doodelbob style and it just started murking everyone and making paintings of them. And the initial painter tried making another one to stop the first one and they ended up joining forces? That would be really cool if that was the actual outcome of that series. I don’t think it is, but I’d be kinda into that as a twist.
It’s gotten to the point where every time I see something remotely creepy, I need to hear Wendigoon talk about why it’s the pinnacle of art and I’m not complaining
@@Mitchisablethey are supposed to be that… but some of them are described as photos from a camera. As mentioned in the video, this takes away from the whole “artist vibe” and make it feel kinda just like… ‘oh, ok I guess’
My idea was that the photos of the killer all look different. Making you wonder about how that’s possible and then later revealing the faces of a lot of victims look like the photos of him so it’s like a skinwalker or something.
Imagine if urbanspook had started with brief glimpses from the victims pov, then jumped into the police report/text talking about what was found, instead of just telling us what happened. Like with the twins, show us brief shaky footage of him exploring/running out of the cabin, then end it with text saying the bodies were found
Not too mention instead of "X days ago" the date could've followed a more formal report structure and use actual dates, dd/mm/yyyy style (or mm/dd/yyyy if he's placing the story in bizarre backwards burgerland)
Do y’all remember the “her arms were cut off, her legs were cut off” sound that went around TikTok for a bit? That’s all The Painter is sometimes. Gore for the sake of shock value.
See I thought it was the mimic saying it because it can only use voices of people that it's killed and can only mimic things that it's already heard other people say so I took it as something that it heard before it took the child as a victim that it was repeating.
@@dangerxbadger2300 that’s my understanding as well, which implies a child saw this thing just before dying and rather than being terrified of it she just said “it’s a monster” in that innocent matter-of-fact way. It paints such a vivid scene in such an understated way.
You put it really well, actually. I bet that if UrbanSPOOK remade Se7en, he would have focused on the severed head in detail to an absurd degree, never understanding that the horror of the original scene does not stem from the gore, but from all the emotions related to the situation. Again, it's the humanity in these situations that makes them visceral, and the gore may be sprinkled in to amplify it, but should not be the main course if you want something that is going to stick with the audience for a long time.
I haven't see the video yet but from what you say I understand it completely. It also reminds me of Jaws and how it builds tension and terror all throughout the movie without showing anything! In fact, Bruce the shark doesn't even show up until the 2 hour round mark. And by the time you see him you've never really seen him kill anyone, it's mainly off screen and that's what makes it so good. Like Se7en and the box.
Yeah, I mean, the creative murders are cool and all, but what made Se7en amazing was the ending. The implications based on the emotion of the protagonist, and the end proving that the killer won.
Holy shit, I did not expect to be so shaken by that power-drill scene. That was genuinely gut-wrenching. I wish the rest of the series was half as good as that scene.
GREYLOCK: Actual horror. Inspired by other series of the genre, yet manages to make their tropes work delicately while adding a veil of mystery. UrbanSPOOK: Gore porn. It's just gore porn.
What if Tiffany WAS pregnant with a real baby, but Alex's creation of a thought form baby interfered. The symbolism of conjoined twins. And then they canceled each other out lmao
Knowing how much Urbanspook's creator hates criticism, this is kicking the beehive. Wouldn't be surprised if he tries taking down this video. Edit: uhh, apparently Urbanspook has commented and he's not actually mad. So yipeeee, no takedown. But if you're reading this UrbanSpook, I hope you've taken all of the criticism in this video to heart. The only half-baked advice I could have given for this series is to have focused less on the parts that made your series seem like just a very disgusting gore fantasy which can get pretty goofy and exaggerated at times, and to have instead focus more on the mysterious and seemingly paranormal aspects. Even those old 80's slasher movies you like had a limit to how far they would go
Urban isn't a beehive. He's hardly even a thistle. If you kick him he falls on the ground and starts crying and screaming and throwing expletives. The only way someone could get stung by that is if his actions don't immediately make them think he's a clown.
I feel like people started ganging up on him and that made him react very childishly, before the twitter drama he used to react better to criticism, I still think his series is badly written and badly done but he's not such a wuss of a person to take down a well meaning but critical video like this one, that being said his whole twitter meltdown was very cringy and embarrassing and offensive and I wont defend that in any way lol
i feel like one that gets overlooked is definitely marble hornets, they were the first people to ever introduce "slenderman" and i think no one talks about how good it is as much as they could
So we all clearly have our own takes on things, and mine about Tiffany losing her child is definitely a bit different, and I thought I might mention it here: Tiffany was already either seeing or manifesting these tulpas as a child. What if the baby wasn't her/husband's thoughtform. Thoughtforms can be ANYTHING we can imagine, and some of the strongest feelings are ones of fear. One of the biggest fears of people who're expecting a child (especially after struggling to conceive) is something awful happening to their baby. What if that wasn't a thpughtform disappearing, as you suggested. What if her fear of losing her child caused a "thoughtform" of literally losing her child to manifest, either deleting it from existence or making it bamf out of her and go somewhere she couldn't find it (which would also obviously kill the fetus upon it being displaced).
The painter's problem is that it's trying to derive horror from a hypothetical serial killer, but their actions are so over-the-top that it breaks suspension of disbelief. There's just way too many victims and far too many elaborate mutilations for one not-paranormal dude to do that quickly. Execution and tastelessness could be refined and corrected, but the narrative itself would still be a little too goofy to work.
They could have a few gruesome murders to set up this horrific killer, but it just keeps going and going with more edgy garbage and no clear progression. I wouldn't be surprised if they just drop the series without a conclusion.
@@manboy4720The only real ending that I could think of, is they try and fuck with the wrong old dude and catch a chest full of 00 Buckshot. Because they seem to somehow dance around and kill anyone who is legitimately investigating them.
@@manboy4720 According to the creator within the comment under this very video, there's actual clues to killer's identity, so there's kinda a detective theme to the story. The question is tho, "So what"? Like, what's the point of learning the killer's name or whatever? It's not like we'll get anything valuable out of it whatsoever, there's no list of suspects so there's no pint in their names and it's not like faces of killers are ordinary for others to not suspect them from the very beginning.
I'm going to be honest man. I followed the first few entries of urbanspook not because I thought it was good, but because it was so fucking bizarre. Especially with victim names like f*** toy Cory. There was never really a point where i took this story seriously, and thats its biggest problem. But then on top of that, it didn't go anywhere with the big overhanging problem of the serial killer is ultimately a supernatural being. They just treat this incredibly strong freak of nature like a normal everyday criminal. So I just sort of dropped it.
The place The Painter lost me was the detective episode, not the kids. A lot of the time with serial killer horror, the victims kinda get lost once the media starts to focus on the killer as a character. The obvious example being Hannibal Lecter, but even a movie like Seven becomes more of a character drama once John Doe walks into the station. You don't forget what was done to that point, but the performances take over and the fact the victims were never really characters lets consideration for them kinda slip away and be replaced by entertainment from watching the story. In a good series, the episode with the kids would have been going straight for the jugular with a uniquely evil thing for a fictional serial killer. Even though the kids are just as fictional as the victims in other horror stories, the things the Painter did firmly cement them as an unmitigated monster that no amount of "rule of cool" from the real life artist's paintings could ever wash off. He'd just be this vile, evil creature below contempt that would have evoked a new kind of emotion for Analog Horror: anger. The series could have progressed to an actual climax of the killer being caught, and been remembered quite well as a medium-short story of a truly revolting, and most horrifyingly of all, realistic kind of evil actually being defeated, unlike how most Analog Horror tends to cliffhang. But when the detective episode came out with the goofy wax murder and starting the degeneration of the killer into a pseudo-supernatural "OC Donut Steel" thing, it cheapened the vileness of the previous videos with typical internet edgelord stuff that ruined any chance of taking it seriously.
This is so masterfully put! I agree completely as the story did have potential, it had good aspects in it, but the downfall of someone clearly letting some people not liking his stuff getting into his head, we could have had a awesome story that told a horrific story just about horrific people and how their actions effected their victims and their victims families.
that Isabelle phone call was terrifying. the 911 operator felt/sounded so distant while asking the questions, which made the scene even scarier as we knew that she couldn't be saved. easily the best part of The Painter.
It’s because there was genuine build up as the dude got closer and closer to breaking the door down. I think the painter could be good, it just needs more suspense.
"The Painter" kind of uses an "and then, and then, and then" way of storytelling that is probably the cause of why its infamous. It just tells everything and has very on the nose shock value. Its a slideshow. "And then THIS GUY died. And then they find ANOTHER dead guy! And then-"
the seven "survivors" gave me hella seven deadly sins sort of vibes, in a metaphorical way. like each survivor became some manifestation of parts of this entities evil, or each became a manifestation of different evil entities that are involved in this whole debacle. It also makes me think of the seven plagues, once again a symbolic way of showing punishment for human hubris.
"Now, whats truly terrifying about The Squiggly Man is how its face always happens to be off-screen as we only hear how the victims have reacted to it. And I, personally, am in LOVE with this! It's SO clever-"
I loved the part in The Painter where the police found that the young girl they discovered dead was alive for two months after being beheaded, truly a work of fiction Edit: I actually have a good name for the painting of the beheaded girl Chicken head (name) Yknow because the chicken can libe for a bit after they are beheaded
The example of a tulpa haunting a house because a bunch of people believed it was haunted is literally the plot of an early Supernatural episode. Was always intrugied by the concept.
It's also a theory to explain the irl notorious dybbuk box, proposed by a couple of investigators who kind of accidentally helped popularize it. If you're interested they lay it out in detail on the Haunted Objects podcast here on youtube. Such a great spooky idea!
You know, I think the big problem with urban spook can be summarized with a saying. “Art is meant to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed”. But this shit just disturbs everyone
I want to emphasize the point Wendigoon made: that VA for Paul killed it. I paused Wendigoon's vid and legit watched all of Greylock when he told me to and Paul's VA absolutely killed it. I love that sequence it is so well done.
1:04:20 i am in love with the way Wendigoon describes extremely gruesome situations: "so the child that was once inside of mom, was... forcefully... no longer inside of mom"
id just like to point out that xylazine, one of the medications the second survivor from episode 8 is treated with, is a horse tranquilizer huge props to the creators for doing the research on that
It's an analog of clonidine which is a blood pressure medication, but much, much stronger. Xylazine is known to make people just pass out so hard they skip forward in time, so to speak.
One of the main problems with "The Painter", is that characters are killed off as soon as they are introduced. This doesn't allow for someone to form a connection with the character, meaning their death loses out on most empathy. Especially since in this scenario its being described, not shown.
Exactly, there really is no build up to anything. Like it loses the scare factor when all it is is just "Johnson was a walmart cashier, he was found dead in his house when he didnt show up to work. His balls were found exploded, heres an image" and then proceed to show a picture of a guy with a pog face and a bloody mess in his pants. Its kind of like the writers who make family guy jokes made it, its sad.
Yeah, other than the killers, we dont have any character that actually matters. Even the girl that was left alive, she doesnt come back. We dont know what the police is doing, who's investigating, who's even posting these tapes, we dont have anyone else other than the painter
what’s cool about the mimicry in greylocke is the concept that the creature is SMART. In other mimicry horrors like the Mandela Catalogue, the creatures just kind of say random things in people’s voices because they’re learning in real time. However in Greylocke the creature uses exact sentences and things that impact the scene which gives way to how old these creatures are and how long they’ve been on the planet among people.
(SPOILERS FOR MANDELA CATALOGUE) I like the sentiment of this comment as I love and enjoy both series, but creatures in Mandela Catalogue ARE smart, especially later on. They do the most effective and torturous thing to a person. And that dialogue with Thatcher, when the alternate tortures him with voices of victims Thatcher knows... And then morphs into him, calling off reinforcements... These are actions of imo cruel and smart killer!
Fr. The creatures in Greylock KNOW what phrases can get ppl to come to them. They didn't just throw the police line at random, they know humans would listen to a police officer
It’s interesting that the head scientist mentions themes from the Tower of Babel, while the highest mountain in Massachusetts supposedly has every kind of language under it.
@@JeanMarceauxassuming this thing is Yadaboloth or another Malicious Deceiver God it would likely be able to fuck with time, from there assuming that The Tower of Babel was on pangea and thus spoke of most in Mesopotamia most only due ro them being the only ones faintly aware of what happened before pangea split which could have occured the last time this thing woke up.
I also like that it uses the Emergency Broadcast System. Most analog horror series that incorporate Emergency Alerts, typically use the Emergency Alert Systems even though, the time period they take place in, the Emergency Alert Systems wasn't even implemented yet. Keep in mind, the Emergency Broadcast Systems is the predecessor to the Emergency Alert System.
One of my favorite stream moments from the Greylock watch was definitely Tiffany's babu disappearing and wendigoon, dumbfounded, saying, "The baby... left????"
I think my biggest problem with The Painter, other than the creator's actions surrounding it, is the framing device of the series. A key part of the horror in analog horror is that it feels like you're watching something that could tangibly exist in the real world. For example, Gemini Home Entertainment feels like you could be watching real VHS tapes, because the videos are formatted to resemble real documentaries and such. The Painter videos, with text followed by scary images, isn't a format that makes sense. If they're supposed to be police records of the serial killer, the format would be better off presented as recordings of police reports, press conferences about what happened, that sort of thing. Who's going around in-universe making those tapes, and for what purpose are they formatted like that?
that's what i thought too, it breaks the immersion really easily. It just looks like someone made a video on it and uploaded it on youtube back in the 2000's hahaha.
@@izshtar That could've made for an amazing framing device. Imagine if, instead of old VHS tapes, UrbanSpook took the role of a superfan of a true crime series from early UA-cam that never took off, reuploading his videos until he comes across some of the final videos, where the killers have tracked the original poster of these videos down and are now scoping out his house.
THANK YOU as someone who works with law enforcement, the framing threw me off because it's such an unrealistic way of presenting this information. And yet he insisted that the tapes were made by and for law enforcement. Took me out of it by the second episode lol
@@RipRLeeErmey That could be a great way to reframe the series into something actually believable. The thing that is frustrating about it is that it has so much potential to be a great series, but it just falls flat.
It’s a real shame about The Painter because the concept of a serial killer creating portraits out of his victims demise sounds like a really cool way to create tension and horror. Imagine if instead of the brutality of the murders being fully described as they are, the only thing the audience is given is the painting. The painting would be the murder through the eyes of the killer, and the implications of the imagery in the art would make the viewer’s mind race about what could’ve happened to the victim for their depiction in the painting to be accurate. Unfound victims would be even more intriguing, as it could relate to something grander going on. Meanwhile, the unfolding story of who the killer themselves are would be happening in the background. Like Wendigoon said, the essence of horror isn’t just showing the viewer something scary, but showing them something unnerving and eluding to something much scarier without showing it, leaving a lasting impression by filling their heads with questions that may never be answered. The Painter has potential to use that kind of storytelling, but it doesn’t, which is extremely frustrating.
Honestly i love the idea of the painter. Its biggest problem is that it has barely any progression besides "dead person and painting is found" I think a remake could help it alot, mabye have the story follow a police detective trying to find the painter while he documents his thoughts and findings on the case so then we get actual character moments and not just the deaths and paintings.
The two pieces of advice I could give from an outsider looking in is 1. Dial back the rate of murders, focus in on the police side of things a little more so that the killers don't feel immortal 2. Chill the fuck out.
@@thesmilingman5621 I expect the writer to have some fucking balls and take criticism on the chin instead of freaking out and writing murder by horse rape into the story
@@thesmilingman5621Chilling out a little does wonders. ESPECIALLY with serious subject matters, you want to approach it carefully rather than with a scream.
The Painter has so much potential but the writing feels like an 8 year old trying to tell a scary story at summer camp. "There was this old couple going to investigate the barn because they smelled something foul AND THEN THEY DIED AND THEN THEIR GRANDDAUGHTER DIED AND THEN THE KILLER SAID BOO"
It's like that scene in community where they're telling horror stories and Annie just describes an insanely explicit description of vampire cannibalism
Something I love about Wendigoon is that even when the lore is stupid, he still takes the lore seriously and explains it as if it actually happens in real life I love it. That level of immersion makes his explanations really easy to understand and it's super entertaining.
Wendigoon is a gourmand of horror. The gourmand sits at any table and tastes any dish. He gives his opinion whether it was a professional chef or a home cook.
@@Robbie-mw5uuidk why but i like how you described wendigoon's takes. Also I saw the word "gourmand" and thought you meant from rain world lmao I have brain rot fr.
My feeling on the Painter was that it was simply too eager. It wasn't patient enough, it seemed to be focused to get as much of the paintings out into the view as possible. And the funny thing is, that he had the right idea; in the first episode he first shows an autopsy diagram showing the facial injuries; build up with reality and then hit them with the surrealist painting. Give fear and dread a moment to build up, let our own minds paint a picture and then try to nail it with the eventual delivery of the painting. The worst thing he can probably do is the slideshow of "yo look at these paintings they found" which then are utterly unrelated to the preamble
This is a great way of putting it. I really really enjoy a lot of the ideas of the painter, and some of the scenes in it are excellent. I just simply think urbanspook didn't let the story age enough in their mind to really connect and build an elegant plot.
yeah i feel like any one of those paintings could be a terrifying image that sticks with me for forever like the false prophet or gabriel or whatever if it was any one of them at once, but multiple of them in a video across a multiple episode series means hardly any of them are memorable and blend together, doesn't help that you have multiple scary faces of the same killer so you can start to build a clear picture of their face in your mind which is not only scary in and of itself, but the killer is still a mostly regular looking human so it's just not that bad
I don't know if anyone else thought about this, but did you notice that Greylock is slightly similar not just to the Mandela catalogue, but also the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park (in terms of story elements). From the "-dyne" in the ending of both of the evil companies' names, to the mine workers sent down to make more space and horrible things happen to them, to the rituals done to the moutain and to the flesh pit, I NEED Wendigoon to acknowledge that cause everytime he introduced on of those concepts in Greylock I immediately thought "man, this is getting more and more similar to an amalgamation of the Mandela catalogue and the Mystery Flesh Pit."
That's the type of horror that if I was younger would keep me up at night. As a big brother I remenber when my brother was still pretty young and talked like that, the horror of him encountering a monster and get killed would probably be devastating.
@@TheSlammuraihonestly the monster mimicking the kid is more tragic than scary to me, because the obvious implication is this monster murder an innocent child.
I like Greylock so much because it actually horrifies me to the point where I feel like one of the monsters actually is in my damn room. Sometimes words lack the ability to describe how anxious I felt watching the videos.
The "Its a monster!" or just that whole sequence gives me goosebumps. the execution and wordage used in it is chilling. I've seen it multiple times and it still gives me chills to this day. also in the drill killing scene in urbanspook's the fact that the audio is so loud and goes on for so long, and you can hear the drill grind to a stop at the end, is just horrific.
Dude, the scene in the closet with the police officer and the child laughing is one of the greatest moments in analog/internet horror. It's both terrifying and brilliant.
@@jacobgirman6352that's exactly what I was thinking, so unsettling. Like it didn't need to say anything since the guy is dead, it really is like it's mocking the victims
From my (albeit limited) experience with media production, Urbanspook's 'The Painter' presents itself as more of a storyboard as opposed to a fleshed-out story. The jumping of one date to another and to another again does not work for a proper story, but is a fantastic storyboard! I believe that Urbanspook still has the time to save his reputation and series, by rebranding what he currently has as a storyboard for a greater, more fleshed-out project. 'The Painter' certainly does have significant potential, but in it's current state, it is not meeting it. I don't agree with the main criticism against 'The Painter' surrounding it's shock content, and I believe that it would work exceptionally well in a well-developed story! I hope @urbanspook sees this and may take my criticism on board. This series truly does have immense potential!
Greylock almost instantly gave the mountains of madness and enigma of amigara faults vibes (because of the mountain obviously), but strangely enough, the further you got into detailing the episodes, the more the correlation was reinforced (for me at least)
Another thing I feel should be a point against UrbanSpook is the disconnect between the description of the victim and the painting. UrbanSpook's descriptions of the state of the victim is so over-the-top that it becomes immersion breaking for me. I cannot take it seriously because it read like a teenage kid's first horror project where they think more gore = more disturbing = more scary. But if UrbanSpook then follows up and actually make the painting match the description somewhat, then tension, suspense, and maybe even horror can be built because now the audience is just imagining what kind of messed up painting could come from such a grisly description. I think this is how UrbanSpook intents it to be. However, the reality is the paintings are often times very tame in comparison to the description, so the grisly details becomes less 'believable' and non-essential to the overall presentation.
I understand but wrong. If the paintings remained as over the top as they are but when you show the actual photo they just seem more normal to murder victims then maybe the killer sees it not as just murder but as… Art.. he draws his victims in way more horrific ways that he actually kills them. Of course that isn’t what the series does and it also takes me off
@@seromniconciente8689 Right, that's a good suggestion and could also work because it would invite the audience into the deranged mind of the killer which is a fairly disturbing prospect. I think we both can agree that what brings down the The Painter is the needlessly shocking and over-the-top detail of what was done to the victim. Details that ultimately does not tie in very well to the story, to the paintings (which seems to be the focal point of the series) and, frankly speaking, done in the most juvenile manner.
In an alternate timeline, Urban Spook takes place in a universe where cameras were never invented and the police have a hired artist that paints the murder victims
@@RevolverOcelot358 definitely. I should’ve said something else than just “wrong” as there are many ways such art pieces can be made into a story. But oh well. Because of how urban acted on twitter I don’t have a feeling of something being lost. Just as a sad excuse of a series
I mean, if it's any consolation, the paintings in the painter are incredibly disturbing, even just the ones from the second episode sent chills down my spine, the concept of how they came to be painted is also very disturbing.
that camera footage in the kitchen, with that face in the bottom right is the scariest thing ever. i saw it while wendigoon was streaming greylock. i was looking at the footage and i thought that it is just a kitchen. then i saw the face looking directly at the camera and i got crazy goosebumps. it was looking directly at me the whole time and i din't even realize it. i loved it. that, the conjoined twins and the fact that the man doing the autopsy heard the cry aswell and didn't tell his apprentice. he heard that and decided to send her home and stay alone with the thing that made that noise. crazy.
Wendigoon: “I feel unappreciative” Also Wendigoon: Genuinely the most appreciative and consistently humble and sincere UA-camr, nay, celebrity, I’ve personally come across
Love Wendigoon. He's such a wholesome online personality. He's also really great representation for religious people, especially Christians on UA-cam. I was raised Catholic and although I am no longer religious and haven't been since I was 14 I was lucky to have been brought up in a very loving, accepting church that took Christ's message seriously. To this day I still look to Jesus for guidance in the same way as the Buddha or less religious inspirational historical figures. The internet and post-2016 politics have pushed that kind of Christianity to the margins, while hate preachers and grifters who only care about the bible insofar as they can twist it to their gain. People like Wendigoon is not only the chillest dude ever while happening to be a Christian, he conducts legit bible study. He's the real deal. Idk it's not like it's a high bar but regardless I think it's cool that kids who might grow up in more toxic religious environments might stumble upon Wendigoon and find a new, healthier perspective as well as a positive role model. Other non-religious people who've become jaded with religion after seeing so many high profile bible thumpers advocate against the love, tolerance and generosity of Jesus in favor of blind hate and greed may see Wendigoon and realize how many Christians are just regular ass people. Wendigoon isn't alone in that regard but both in terms of religion and otherwise I really appreciate the positivity he brings, we need more people like him in general. Even in a video where he's critiquing a work that many have trashed he's doing it in a positive and constructive way. I know I'm not alone in being unhealthily predisposed to negativity and the desire to tear things apart and it's a habit I'd like to overcome. I know it's just a horror themed UA-cam channel but watching Wendigoon actually makes me want to better myself, he's a legit role model.
@@samuraijackoff5354 As the saying goes, “variety is the spice of life”, or in this case, the spice of horror media. Greylock is a great contrast to The Painter, in that the former manages to tell a chilling and horrifying story that has just enough intrigue to keep you hooked, while the latter is barely a story that only serves to facilitate gratuitous shock content for its own sake.
On the other hand, it becomes funnier the more shocking it gets. Stack overflow. It's so edgy it's enjoyable for how silly it is, while still presenting great art and sudden amazing moments like the 911 call. What a ride.
The mutations of the construction workers interest me because imagine how many other workers are out there with various stages of mutations. Are they rage zombies; do they have the power of suggestion, like Eduard does; or do they still resemble their human selves, like Thomas? There could even be mutations that we haven't seen yet. However, if I could give a criticism to the series, it uses too many jumpscares. I guess that would also be a positive to The Painter since there isn't a jumpscare in that series.
That child line from the monster is the coolest most horrific thing to me. The fact that the child doesn't sound particularly scared either just hits it so much harder to me. The implications of that line along with the timing of it are perfect. I paced back and forth with chills after that scene. I was both terrified and ecstatic. Seeing such excellent use of writing and concept to deliver a piece of horror like that makes me wish the people behind projects like Greylock got more mainstream attention. Cause good God, this is horror. More of this please!
Say what you will about The Painter, but that 911 call is goddamn horrifying. To be able to create something that terrifying is amazing, and his talent clearly shines through in that. I hope we see more of it.
i was watching this video while i was getting ready for school and after that part i just had to pause and think about what i just heard i was SHOOK. It sounded so real and the feeling of dread and horror you feel for this victim is just surreal
I honestly think he just needs help with writing, like get someone to proof read his writing or get advice from well known creators, dudes got potential, just needs to learn how to use it.
I could appreciate The Painter as an artist stringing together some Disturbing Backstory for their paintings but as a series it doesn't seem much more engaging than like, Jeff the Killer creepypasta
Yeah, but at least he made the artwork used in his series, unlike the other series talked about in the video, who's creator used AI art instead of hiring a real artist to do their artwork
@@maxharvey165 do you have real proof for this? From what I understand about greylock it was made from two guys one named rob and I’m pretty sure the other guys name is mark. Robs basically the creative genius who thinks up the story and plot while mark is the guy that draws/renders robs ideas and brings them to life. Other than outsourcing voice actors everything in the greylock series was made by them. That’s word for word from marks mouth. So unless you have real evidence for what you say I’m gonna take the creators words for it lmao.
I don't like it when people downplay their opinion/ analysis of art because they're not "making" art. Art would be nothing and mean nothing without the eyes of the beholder. If you put a profound painting in a closet that never gets to be viewed, is it really that profound? If we never view these things and speak aloud our thoughts, its just another thing in the world. Reviews, opinions and analysis are integral to art. Just because you didn’t go to some elite college doesn't mean your thoughts are stupid or meaningless. I wish more youtubers would stop saying they're "just some guy on the internet". You’re adding to the art by sharing it and expressing your views, whether they're dumb views or insightful, that is kinda up to the eyes of the beholder.
A good example of the scary face that wendigoon is talking about is the jumpscare in LOTR when Bilbo see the ring around frodo's neck. The scene is memorable because of the rare horror element of LOTR, but the implication make it even more scarier. he just gave us a magic sword and a mithril armor, he's a good guy. we (the viewer) and frodo trust him. having him act that way show the viewer that the ring can deeply corrupt anyone, no one can be trusted, even people actively fighting against Sauron forces. just having the jumpscare isn't enough, the implication and the story element is what make it work.
I feel like another con of The Painter is that it doesnt give you room to speculate, it just tells you everything, while Greylock gives you a sense of mystery.
Yeah, there's no build up. To be fair to Urban spook, his paintings are very creepy and effective. I love horror art, and he definitely shines in that point.
@@domingosjunior6805 yes if done effectively, the painter is practically just " her legs were cut off, her arms were cut off, her ears were cut off, her eyes were pulled out " the reason series like saw and terrifier do so good even with all the gore is because they have a sense of direction and story to be told, the painter just throws gore at u without understanding how to use it properly and hasn't progressed the narrative since the beginning, not to mention it has 0 respect for senstive topics like CSA. brutal gore can only take so far until it stops being horrorfing and just edgy to be edgy

Wow, I can't wrap my head around the fact that you actually made a video talking about something I created. Even if it's not necessarily in a good light, it's still surreal to me since I've watched your content for some time. There are some things I really want to clarify:
I have no idea where you've heard that I don't care about my series or that I make it only to sell shirts; that is not true.

I personally find it a bit much; there's a difference between something being terrifying and something being disturbing, and this is also somewhat prevalent in Greylock as well.
That might just be me though.
@CreatorofSecks honestly get what your saying but in the context the murders were already known by the public because of the paintings of their victims being released to the public especially when they keep appearing murder after murder plus preety sure either me or you would scream our eyes out when two killers that look like a derange spongebob and Patrick bust in kill your husband brutally then drill a hole on you and leave you to die

ok but the guy getting covered in candle wax in the painter may actually be one of the funniest things ive seen in a horror series its so ridiculous. like these two guys entered this dudes house with industrial amounts of hot candle wax and covered him in it along with adding a random arm from some person we dont even know. honestly incredible
i've watched SO many videos about the painter and NONE of them have talked about how absurd it is. it literally became a running joke between me and a friend because it was way funnier than it was scary.
honestly, it was just rude of those two fellows to do that
Me and my friend watched all of the painter to compare it to other ARG’s and we made fun of and laughed about that for a long time
They robbed a craft store for the wax, then lopped off one of the cashier's arms just for good measure.
Some Loony Toons shenanigans where they have to lift an industrial vat of wax up to the window.

What?
Thank you so wickedly much for making a video covering GREYLOCK and giving your thoughts on it in such an in depth way. Your kind words are what help fuel us.
To clarify a couple things:
1) This video contrasting the two series is interesting, because so many people in comments sections of videos oftentimes mention us both, despite how different our content is.
(You may also be able to expect video games in the future, but that’s a secret…)
Some behind the scenes info that people may find interesting: ALL content uploaded to Greylock, I take and record onto an actual VHS cassette using a converter, then I loop it back to a digital file using another converter, so that everything you see has genuine VHS effects.
Can’t wait to see more
Holy shit, the process of creating GreyLock with actual vintage production is so fascinating and super cool, I love the dedication!!!

@@SpookusMcDoofus It felt more like the kid was saying this to an adult.

@@dangerxbadger2300 that’s my understanding as well, which implies a child saw this thing just before dying and rather than being terrified of it she just said “it’s a monster” in that innocent matter-of-fact way. It paints such a vivid scene in such an understated way.
UrbanSPOOK feels like someone who just really, *really* likes Se7en but misses the point of why the head in the box was never actually shown.
The implications based on the emotion of the protagonist, and the end proving that the killer won.
what's in the BAAAAAAXXXXX
What's Se7en??
Holy shit, I did not expect to be so shaken by that power-drill scene. That was genuinely gut-wrenching. I wish the rest of the series was half as good as that scene.

The only way someone could get stung by that is if his actions don't immediately make them think he's a clown.

i feel like one that gets overlooked is definitely marble hornets, they were the first people to ever introduce "slenderman" and i think no one talks about how good it is as much as they could
So we all clearly have our own takes on things, and mine about Tiffany losing her child is definitely a bit different, and I thought I might mention it here:
Tiffany was already either seeing or manifesting these tulpas as a child.
The forbidden spell, Fetus Deletus
"making it bamf out of her"
I refuse to read it any way other than with "bamf" being a potato cannon-like onomatopoeia
That’s horrifying
The painter's problem is that it's trying to derive horror from a hypothetical serial killer, but their actions are so over-the-top that it breaks suspension of disbelief. There's just way too many victims and far too many elaborate mutilations for one not-paranormal dude to do that quickly.
Execution and tastelessness could be refined and corrected, but the narrative itself would still be a little too goofy to work.
They could have a few gruesome murders to set up this horrific killer, but it just keeps going and going with more edgy garbage and no clear progression. I wouldn't be surprised if they just drop the series without a conclusion.
@@jackroberts2704 exactly how WOULD they end a series like this? it's very hard to 'end' a story that... doesn't really have a plot.
As a Dad, that scene with Katie in Greylock fills me with so much dread, every time.

And then-"

Its kind of like the writers who make family guy jokes made it, its sad.
it feels like a series of jumpscares, not a story with interesting characters and interesting monsters

If they are suppose to be news reports, how would family members of the deceased allow the pictures to go public?
26:30 I'm embarassed by how quickly that scary faces slideshow a minute ago managed to speed up my heartbeat😭
Honestly i love the idea of the painter.
Its biggest problem is that it has barely any progression besides "dead person and painting is found"
I think a remake could help it alot, mabye have the story follow a police detective trying to find the painter while he documents his thoughts and findings on the case so then we get actual character moments and not just the deaths and paintings.
The two pieces of advice I could give from an outsider looking in is
1. Dial back the rate of murders, focus in on the police side of things a little more so that the killers don't feel immortal
2. Chill the fuck out.
I describe the painter as "A lot going on but nothing is happening"

I just simply think urbanspook didn't let the story age enough in their mind to really connect and build an elegant plot.
yeah i feel like any one of those paintings could be a terrifying image that sticks with me for forever like the false prophet or gabriel or whatever if it was any one of them at once, but multiple of them in a video across a multiple episode series means hardly any of them are memorable and blend together, doesn't help that you have multiple scary faces of the same killer so you can start to build a clear picture of their face in your mind which is not only scary in and of itself, but the killer is still a mostly regular looking human so it's just not that bad
there are multiple of the tall guy but that's still pretty spread out and whatever it is isn't human which helps it

It pretty much is. The paintings were actually made for Inktober, not for the series

However, the reality is the paintings are often times very tame in comparison to the description, so the grisly details becomes less 'believable' and non-essential to the overall presentation.
my farts are better than Iceberg Boy’s farts 💨
I understand but wrong. If the paintings remained as over the top as they are but when you show the actual photo they just seem more normal to murder victims then maybe the killer sees it not as just murder but as…
Art.. he draws his victims in way more horrific ways that he actually kills them.

I was raised Catholic and although I am no longer religious and haven't been since I was 14 I was lucky to have been brought up in a very loving, accepting church that took Christ's message seriously. To this day I still look to Jesus for guidance in the same way as the Buddha or less religious inspirational historical figures.
I wish more youtubers would stop saying they're "just some guy on the internet". You’re adding to the art by sharing it and expressing your views, whether they're dumb views or insightful, that is kinda up to the eyes of the beholder.
nothing can compare with The Blair Witch Project back in 1999, S tier list analog horror back when internet wasn't that advanced as today
That shit stayed with me. Made me recoil when i saw it for the first time. It was so out of nowhere tonally to the movie, up to that point
