- I bought a new mermaid tail! Unboxing a mermaid tail from Nereid Studios - Is this another silicone mermaid tail?! While this is a realistic swimmable mermaid tail, it is not made of silicone. Instead, this mermaid tail is made of a thick fabric. So is this tail a thin fabric mermaid tail that is made out of swimsuit fabric like a Fin Fun mermaid tail? Not exactly! This mermaid tail is made out of SCR fabric, or neoprene. That's right! I've finally purchased my first neoprene tail.
Nereid Studios is a company that makes realistic swimmable mermaid tails. This company is based out of China and makes use of the stunning designs of Tiffany, a lovely Singaporean mermaid, to create affordable and beautiful mermaid tail magic.
I have been on the market for an upgraded fabric tail for quite a while now. When I saw the design AND the price of the Winter Mirage tail, I knew it was the time to buy! While I won't be able to swim in this tail until summer rolls around, there will be a try-on video of the tail next Friday at 3pm EST. Hopefully I'll also have a bigger monofin by then too...

**SOME NOTES ABOUT THIS TAIL**
1) This mermaid tail does NOT include a monofin. The seller recommends using a Mertailor Fantasea 3 fin OR a Mahina Mermaid fin to best fill out this tail's massive fluke.
2) Please measure carefully before purchasing your tail. I ordered a size medium and it was a bit tight in the waist, but too baggy around my legs. Also, I'm 5'1"(ish) and the tail was a bit long on me. Do with that information what you will!
3) Although I have not had the chance to swim in it yet, I imagine this tail will have some extra drag underwater. It probably won't be the safest option for beginner mermaids! For beginners, I always recommend FinFun!

I love my black Mahina monofin. It gives me so much speed and power when I'm swimming.
That's actually one I'm heavily considering! It seems like it would be wide enough to mostly fill this tail.
I've had all 3 of their colors. The black Mahina is a lot softer and floppier than the blue and orange. This makes it feel a lot better on ones feet and arches. I do recommend neoprene socks as the rubber will sometimes rub your ankles and it just makes it more secure on your feet. As for sizing. I am a 8 to 8 1/2 US shoe size and I've found with the socks that the largest Mahina, biggest it came in when I bought it (I think size 10 to 12), worked best for me, which was a size up from what the sizing chart told me. Do research or possibly try a friend's before ordering your size. Everyone's feet are different. Some fit the sizing charts recommendation and others like me absolutely do not. :) Lol. Hope this helps if you decide to go with the Mahina. I would like to see a video where you test run a Mahina and give your thoughts. ~ Mermaid REAPER

From all of the mermaid tail design that's on their website, this pastel tail is my favourite.
It really is eye catching, isn't it? I thought about going with one of their darker ones, but this one kept screaming "I'm yours!"

I have a Mahina and the Mertailor FF3. I love my FF3. I only use my mahina now to free dive. There is a longer wait for the FF3 as they make them as orders come in. You can even get a custom colored monofin if you email Mertailors customer service.

I am a bit torn between the Mahina and the Fantasea 3. I feel like a Fantasea would be difficult to swim in though. They look so floppy! (Yeaaahhh... it honestly is a little too pink for my taste. I wish that area was less.... colorful! XD)
@@TheMagicCrafter If you wish to, when we're able to meet up again, you can try both my Mahina & Fantasea 3. I prefer the 3 myself, they're heavy on land but basically weightless in the water.
