  • Time lapse video of downtown Austin, Texas from the Hilton Hotel in Austin. Video started on May 17, 2018 at about 9:45pm and ended May 19, 2018 at 1:00pm. Video from room 1603 at the Hilton Austin, looking west down 5th Street in Austin, Texas.
Shot with my GoPro Hero 5 - with a photo at every 30 seconds, with my makeshift reflection stopper of a black washcloth/duck tape with a hold in the middle for the lense.

I kept it plugged in and used electrical tape to hold it in place.

It took some practice at home, but essentially, I prop my gopro as close to the window as I can.

Haha, I have no patience. I just set it up and forget about it until it's time to check out of the hotel.

Wooow this is really a long time lapse and also very beautiful. The lights during the nights are also very nice. What did you use for this timelapse ?

Uh I love Austin! Where is this at like right downtown? I’ve been a few times so I’m trying to tell where it is from. Love time lapses and gopro has a great time lapse feature. Nice video

This is on the east side of downtown, at 4th ave, from the Hilton Austin. To the left is the water, right is the capital.

I was so hoping it included one of our infamous thunderstorms and not just our infamous traffic.

SolesTraveling Yes. You visited at a good time of the year, before it gets so excruciatingly hot here. Good job on the time lapse. I also checked out your blog. I think I will subscribe to learn more.

Thanks! I did add music, but it's slow to update. I do it through UA-cam's royalty free music, so sometimes it takes a little while to update.

SolesTraveling Do you know the exact name of the track used? It will take forever to find it in UA-cam's Royalty-Free music collection!
