Remember: Comparison is the thief of joy
Imp and skizz?
well you can do healthy comparison to see what to could improve on but dont dindle on every single imperfection
I feel like it's less about comparison and more about absurdly misrepresented content.
These bases are gorgeous, but "quick and easy" ? "beginner" ? "NOOB"?!
Come off it.
Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer
@@JayneOctopus Their podcast about it was nice but they did not invent the saying.
this is very much like those drawing tutorials. “make two circles and connect them, add two lines here and then finish the rest of the horse” 😭
step 1: draw two ovals
step 2: details
@@anymousecandraw exactly ahahah
Now just add some shading
“Just add the details” is the physical art equivalent of “I did some off-camera mining”
"just did some renderign off camera"
Jimmy at the start:
i could do that, easy
Jimmy 2 seconds later:
i can no longer do this
😂😂😂so true
I think Jimmy needs to start a series called: Jimmy tackles “easy starter bases”
lol it would be great to see him recreate one of these “easy” Minecraft bases 😂
This but add a helper who is a more experienced megabuilder.
A Minecraft "NAILED IT" show.
“oh yeah i can do tha- … oh …“ mood
Omg its uuuu
the one commentor i recognise
omg hiii!!
Ello~!
Omg it’s jox
That first video started out like “oh ya I can for sure do this” and then went to “wat just happened I blinked and now there is this”
😂😂😂
Jimmy’s reactions feels like the Minecraft version of “THATS ENOUGH SLICES”
I LITERALLY THOUGHT IF THIS MEME 💀
The vast majority of those "survival" builds can't be in survival since players don't hover in the air while building
In survival we have scaffolding 😀👍
@@marstrooms Look again, they are floating in mid air.
@@LivinSouthern I think it’s just that they’re designing builds for survival rather than saying they built it in survival
Dense MF 🥸
I smell world edit or hax with half of these builds
I laughed out loud so many times when watching this video, especially at: "The next time you take out a mountain, leave a chunk of stone. This man thinks I've taken out a mountain before casually when building"
No no, ya do that for fun, and with a bit of leftover mountain, ya can cook up a nice tower too as dessert. :D For sure, I am just that insane. For fun. XD
At least, this guy wil not run out of material in the middle of the building 😂
True enough... XD
9:04 is my favorite, i was looking exactly the same xD
No I just died at the mountain part
Pretty sure that Cherry Blossom Base was made in world-edit. You can see portions of the build being casually shifted around to make room for new elements.
A lot of them look like world edit
If you do have the time, maybe it would be fun to do an "impoving my building skills" series where each episode you invite an other friend over to teach you something new and then you make a build where you apply what you learned.
Scar timelapses in a nutshell lol
The awe and sass every time he says "Charlie Custard" brings tears to my eyes. lmao - I know how you feel.
Charlie custard: just a simple build (continues to build masterpiece
Jimmy: WHAT IS THATTT THAT ISNT A REAL THING
Jim: WHAT IS THIS!!!!!
The Builder: Makes a bush
I actually really like the idea of the ones where your fully functioning starter base slowly grow into a larger base build without a ton of reworking
Exactly! But, at that point it’s no longer a “starter base.” These bases are not starters.
@@looFyttiK But it starts out as a starter base. Then you just keep adding to it to make a big cool base out of said starter. But like, even if you hang out at the same starter base for an irl year or something crazy, that's still the base you started with.
@@MsLilly200 :D True enough. It technically would still be your "starer base" in that sense. But, it's not what is generally implied by the term "starter base." :)😄
The one with the mountain is particularly egregious because you can see it's not all clean stone when it's first excavated, but once you "give it a nice shape" all the different stone types and ores are gone.
Tbf you kinda need the different stones and the ores for other future builds if you're playing survival. Which is also a reason you'd want to -bulldoze- pickaxe a mountain.
You can slowly see him just losing it every vid
I like Joel's short he did about this and how people try to build what they see and think it is bad but really it is the fact the person used a bunxh if editing to make it look bettwr then it is so good
Jimmy's lack of Minecraft skill will always end up with great reactions content.
The back handed compliments 😭
lol
Nothing more relaxing than mining out a mountain in survival (remember to bring a bed and lots of storage)
I have influenza right now and rewatching your videos has been really helpful so thank you
philza orrrrr
Person making a building tutorial: “So i’m going to add a little detail nothing much” 0.000001 seconds later *Has gone from a small house to a freaking mansion* “So like i said not to much detail it’s just a starter house”
For every like this gets I’ll do 0 push ups
Oof, you have to do 0 push-ups now, I feel so bad
Oh no unlucky that's a lot of pushups
So if he gets 0 likes he does how many press-ups
Oh man now you've got to do 0 times 20
Sorry I have just added to the push ups 😅
Jimmy’s reactions are gold 😂
Tbh, I feel like a lot of these builds are just condensed to shorts/tiktok video timelimits that make them look easy while it would "normal" players months to build (in survival) despite on how simple they look.
These would nottt take months 😟
Jimmy’s face at 10:11 is iconic💀💀
Jim do not let them tell you smaller builds are the noob builds. I have made some absolutely incredible things on a smaller scale because the thing about the big builds is that they have no detail. They are big and impressive but up close they will look flat and empty of anything to look at
6:58 jimmy surprised about a moon base. Bdoubs hermitcraft 8 starter base.
You should get your friends to try and make the smallest base ever with all the necessary blocks like furnaces, crafting table etc
And then rank them in how small they are, smallest being first and biggest being last
I dislike "survival bases" that have only single chests that are spred apart for storage. Your storage systems need to have like blocks in bulk near each other.
yeah, like if you don't have a chestmonster for survival what're you even doing?
He should react to Minecraft memes
Minecraft realistic
Minecraft nostalgia
You are a great builder Jimmy. Your builds have heart.
Jimmy: oh yes! I can do this....oh ah....oh...oh..ah..ohhh * eyes popping out* that can't be real! you're not real! get outta here!!
Jimmy should try to remake some of these builds in creative with world edit and see how poorly he does.
“What is that? What is that!? WHAT IS DAT- … WHAT IS THAT!?” (👏) “Thi- this is the prime example of what this video is about, you watch this video that and you haven’t played Minecraft for like, 2 months and you go, “I’m coming back, I’m coming back baby, and I’m coming back to play.” And you think you can build like, you’re wrong, you’re WRONG. Only Charlie Custard can build like that apparently.”
-Solidarity
Love this video lol I assume I'm not the only one who got lots of inspiration watching these haha 😆
The best part of this video is watching Jimmy's face just getting lost XD
@10:24 I think I want to make that as my next starter base. I love the idea of expanding an existing build with it!
I look at some of these builds and go "soooo, where's the usable space????" like sure some of them are for decor but I've seen too many "base designs" that are laid out terribly and are basically unusable.
watching jimmy quickly go from yeah i can do this at the start of each build to what the hell the next second made this priceless
Hey Jim, I just wanted to let you know that after years of watching Minecraft UA-cam and wanting all these Merch items I've finally been able to get your Jimmy's Dreamhouse merch, the first piece of UA-camr Merch I've ever gotten!
i ordered a life series hoodie but i never got it :( my first merch buy was the life hoodie but i never got it im sad
As a builder i think out of all the builds shown here - but not taking into account of the tiktoks showing the growth of bases - I think this 6:33 is the easiest build shown. The moon shape can be easily scaled down and you basically just need the whatever material you want for the moon, oak planks, glass and whatever you want to put in there 😅
Jimmy’s expressions throughout the whole video were priceless 😂
Grian builds be like:
If he's building the base into a mountain, he won't have to worry about finishing the back... Genius!
Most of these, you can tell from the videos, are made in Creative with some sort of world editor (at some points, like at 10:04, you can actually see the builder move a section of a building, or copy/paste it). Different environment and goal set entirely; don't sell yourself short by comparing the results. :)
Jimmy’s face is just a meme at this point
POV: it’s normal morning on Hermitcraft and you want to torture yourself.
The Secret is : Spamming random Stairs , Slabs and Trapdoors and Foliage
I’m so glad that Jimmy and I had the immediate same thought of “that is Tony Stark’s house” with the second one 😂
I’m feeling really ill today so this video has really made my day, thanks Jimmy
One of them looked like if Lord of the Rings was Sci-fi. 😂
His face the whole video 😂
"Just a small build" 😂
i feel like the hardest part of some of these is A: clearing out space (like a whole MOUNTAIN) and B: my build style could never fit something like that
I'm terrible at building anything in Minecraft so I find a village or a Pillager Outpost and just move in
Oh, I quite like the one at 10:25, because oftentimes I tell myself "I'll build a starter house here, and then come up with a mega base somewhere else," but frequently run out of steam before I get to the mega base.
This particular build, however, is very modular/expands with you, and could easily become the mega base. Might need to do that the next time I don't have a theme in mind.
jimmy slowly getting more confused and annoyed every video xD
13:21 Bdubs if he was a house
Why did i laugh so much at this
I think Jimmy should do an actual compilation of his attempts at making these builds! I’m sure they’d be a lot better than he gives himself credit for!
It’s a great day when Jimmy posts
9:39 noob is better than average
Oh Jimmy don't be down. I spent an entire year and a couple months on Impulse's patron server living out of a literal hole in the side of a cliff. The only thing I did was add glass to look over the water and make a bubblevator to get up (I just jumped off into the ocean to get down lol)
Scar, Bdubs, and Pearl casually building entire mountain landscapes in a week be like this video.
it would be sort of cool to see a series where jimmy learns to build like a Proper Minecraft Builder with an earnest effort. maybe starting with some of following those simple tutorials, then trying to build something in a similar style/block palette that isn't identical, then thinking about shape and colour and slowly developing. ive loves seeing jimmy slowly become a little bit more confident at building, but having guests on to help with different stages of building (shape, colour, texture, detail, scale, etc) could be a cool way to see how it develops
13:38 That's something Grian would build 100%.
I love how jimmy just started screaming “THIS ISNT REAL, THATS NOT POSSIBLE” near the end and “you think you can build like this? No, you’re wrong, only Charlie custard can build like this”
Some of the videos are just like Grian’s builds and have no back to them. Just the mountain 😂
you should do a 'rating our builds' and give us a theme; but somewhere inside we've got to hide something that you've got to search for... or on the sims
One thing that everyone seems to forget when watching these timelapse "easy builds" is that IT'S A TIMELAPSE, the whole process is sped up, most of the builds likely took weeks to build if not longer, with clearing out space and gathering materials and everything else, when all the gathering of materials is cut out, so all you see is a insanely fast clearing of the build area, the teraforming of said area, and the build going in, all being shoved into a handfull of minutes at most of course it's going to be a "sensational" video. The thing is with timelapses it makes it look exceptionally fast smooth and easy to acomplish. When you actually play you KNOW it's not really that fast easy or smooth. There's times where you'll mess up on a count in the build somewhere which gets cut out of the timelapse. There's gathering everything you need, traveling, repairing tools, fighting mobs, and possibly even ending up loosing everything if a fight goes bad or if you fall too far ect. All of that also gets cut out of timelapse videos. The way i look at these build videos is with all of that in mind. That there's been possibly a month's worth of work if not more that is NOT shown in them to get the result that is seen, we're only shown the best parts edited together with none of the rest involved. Also most of these are done in creative, more than likely sense even in the timelapse you NEVER see the light change for the time of day, getting darker for sun down and sun up, it's always noon in most of them. So they've either set their game mode to ALWAYS be day which is available with commands enabled even in survival worlds id they aren't in creative, OR they are in creative where they have access to all those codes anyway. It's still a lot of work that gets cut out either way, but that's how i look at it. I may be wrong, if so then i admit it and apologize, it's simply my view point with the information that i have available to me. I admire the work that goes into it in any case, they are pretty builds....but i have to disagree with the "easy" or "beginner" tags that a lot of people put on them, as unless you jump into the deep end with building out of the gate like i did (which most people don't because they don't know the blocks and how to get them well enough) that is NOT what a beginner will build...they may WANT to sure...but they don't have the knowledge to be able to unless they poke and prod at the game for a long time and figure out what's what.
Can we just like-
"Jimmy probably spend more time planning than he does building. That has more value."
Just to make him feel better-
One of those reminded me of Shubble's gnome kingdom
And then the one with the noises was very satisfying
Thank you Jimmy! This was hilarious and honest to watch = )
The shaders do half the work for these crazy builds too, even if the builds are in survival half the time they look awful without shaders
The one at the 12 minute mark is probably the most realistic survival build. The mountain campsite
I like how this person says let's build a starter house then proceeds to build the entire world
So to summarize the video,
Jimmy.exe has stoped working, multiple times in fact.
The underground one looked relatively possible
they are like "you can do this too!" as you watch entire buildings lift a few blocks, revealing the fact they are using world edit.. which means even THEY can't do this in vanilla very easy.
I can't stop laughing!! Excellent video. You crack me up.
As a wise redstoner once said... It's really quite simple!
Jimmys entire reaction to 8:30 is HILLARIOUS
I'm not sure if Solidarity is a Game of Thrones fan (book, not TV show), but there is a server called Westeros craft (this is not a plug, just love their work) that recreates all the castles and keeps of Westeros as they are described in the books at present time, including towns and ruins. I think he would love to wonder at all the detail (plus the hundreds of miles of tunnels beneath King's Landing alone). They're no where near complete, some have been rebuilt over time after updating, and others have been abandoned for the time being. But it is incredible to explore
I so love watching minecraft time-lapse build videos, it make it seem every build is 3D printed in an open canvas turning an ordinary scenery into an impressive work of art
We need more cosplay reactions‼️‼️ getting recognised really helps the cosplayers with motivation‼️
This video can be summarized as the Minecraft equivalent of: “-And then just add some details”
14:03 his eye twitched to something being placed 😂
I did the moon one in survival and it was a BEAST. So much grinding.
Timmy grimacing every time the build gets more complicated is the only correct reaction actually
I looked away for a second and missed half of the build
Jim sayings Charlie Custard doesn’t exist is the best thing I witnessed today
I honestly feel like timmy would have made an excellent member of hermitcraft. The shenanigans he,grian, scar, and mumbo would get into would be unparalleled.
second one "you can easily empty out the mountain to make a simple palace" my guy you excavated literally tens of thousands of blocks and mined even more to do all of that
I'm not breathing till you react to flower husbands
Another big man Jim video!!!!!
Personally, I would LOVE to see you react to hermit craft/empires mega bases. Also for the next merch drop I would love to see enamel pins. These are a great option for someone to be able to display your Mitch without having to iron it onto fabric. Love your merch would love some pins!!!
I have made the "expert" level circle base in survival, but it's taken over 2 and a half years and I'm still working on the interior!
I think you should do a series where you follow build tutorials or get your builder friends in to help practice your building skills.
The ppl in these tutorials: 'if you want to go a small step further, just take out the whole mountain."
at 2 million subs, you have to legally change your name to timmy
