Cheers Robin, That was an interesting squirrel session for sure, I think it’s easy to have them come to our close up feeder box, but trying to get them in their own environment is a challenge
Another great video pard, that's a nice photo on the wall of a good looking couple 😂 Lovely looking wood, better there's plenty of squirrels to be had there pal, love to Mrs Predator protector 👍
Ha !! You spotted it 🫵😀 Well done matey, I think most folks skip through the introductions and then ask all the questions about what I’d mentioned at the start 🤷🏼♂️ I had a Pastie in that hide mate and it was really nice 👍
I always watch all the videos unless it's an unboxing one. Didn't see the pasty but glad you enjoyed it, a bit of cornish scran always helps the tummy rumbles 😂
Hi David, Always interesting to watch your videos. I noted your comment about your batteries. If the manufacturer has said fully discharge them then go with that but my understandings is this (taken from a supplier I use) "Generally, keep the battery charge between 20-80% before it drops to very low levels, and avoid a full charge. Full battery discharges should be avoided since they can reduce the long-term reliability of the battery as well as lead to capacity loss."
Cheers Peter, I was only going on the way we used batteries in my old occupation, we tried to avoid “topping up charges “ as the manufacturers claimed that batteries would retain a memory and not perform right to the last 20%. Either way, I was extremely happy with the performance of the two I used for the 11 hours I was out, considering I was recording and ranging all the time. I’ll have a battery update on part 2 🫵👍
@@predatorprotectionuk I am sure those would have been the old Nickel Cadmium (NiCads) as they used to 'memorise' their charge level. The newer Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) don't have that problem, and now we have the Lithium Ion (Lion) batteries that are more efficient. That's progress for you and good news for us battery users.
@@peterballemy9929I was out on a rat hunt last night but nothing showed but I had the Thermal side of the Thermnight on for a full 2 hours and the battery only dropped one bar.
@Thegreyreaperuk Thanks for your positive feedback, I’m in discussions with the team at DNT and asking if they can return the Auto IR function on the scope, I found that very useful in mixed light levels, let the scope decide what it needs to do, saves you a job 👍
@@predatorprotectionuk I wish they hadn’t reduced the profiles in reticle adjustment to only 5 as there’s 26 in the Zulus which suits my needs and maybe left the sd card slot in. Not negatives of the scope just my personal preferences. Overall I’m mightily impressed with the Thermnight scope.
a cracking video David, it does look a cracking scope👍 does the laser range finder splash, always correspond with the target cross? 😁 excellent shooting as always. Tim
Hello migsy, I can only speak from my own personal experience but, For just a black and white day/night scope, I think the Pulsar NV450, I bought many years ago, was fantastic. I also was one of those people that rushed out to buy the Pulsar C50, but only had it for three weeks as I didn’t think it was as good as the reviews I’d seen, said it was !!!! Read into that as you wish? The Alpex I think takes the medal for me though, I’ve got two, a Mk1 & now the Mk2. Very Very good with the right light 🫵 LUDICROUS LUMENS all night long for me 👍👍👍👏👏
Great, but why does the combined sight with thermal imaging have a purple tint in daylight, as if the infrared filter is not turned on? This does not happen on my simple Zulus 5-20-lrf.🤔
Good video content as always, My impact M4 .177 has turned up and have got to decide on a scope I’m after a day night scope and torn between the hik alpex lrf, DNT thermnight, one leaf NV500 or the ATN x-sight 5 lrf, I can’t make my mind up and have haven’t got access to any of them to see what I think in person, any help on these would be great
@@predatorprotectionuk thanks for your reply I live in Hampshire near Portsmouth if that’s close to you, I don’t want to buy one and wish I bought the other haha
not shooting many at the moment all my 7 feeders are very quiet.but the conkers and other naturals are starting to go so i,ll be whacking em proper in a few more weeks.my game keeper wouldnt have you near the new releases with a rimfire he,d have a nervous breakdown sub 12 only
Those birds were blooming tame, every time I went on walkabout to pick up, they followed me around thinking I was going to feed them. Not very sporting donning fancy short trousers and a tie to shoot a bird that walks towards you 🤷🏼♂️🤣
Well done sir. Great vid and great session.

Cracking video Dave, well done mate 👍
Thanks chum, I certainly had to work for them 👍
As always a great watch .👍
Thank you Stephen, there’s a few more yet from that area to come 👍
Well done David nice shooting especially the long shots that scope keeps growing on me
Me too, it’ll be on the Maverick next I think for more conventional squirrel feeder action
@predatorprotectionuk yeah the close range stuff is brilliant quality but even at 60 to 100yds it's usable
Great bit of squirrel bashing there young man well done.
Thanks Jimbo, it’s a pity it’s only a one seat hide mate, you would have loved that day
@@predatorprotectionuk I'm sure I would mate. I certainly enjoyed our session on the squirrels.

Nice to see an Australian rifle in the English countryside.
I love my Lithgows mate, I have a 17hmr too.
BOTH LEFT HANDED 👍👍👍
Shooting into the canopy with a firearm whatever next……😮
A 'shooting gallery' outing with some real benefit to nature, help to rid the woods of the 'gray menace' as I've heard them called.

It’s not a Zulus chap is it
Hi does the tape on the batteries hold the charge? Great channel
Ha Ha Ha, only if you put it on really jolly tight.
No it’s on there Chris, so I know it’s an unused one
Is just me or is the grey squirrel population higher this year than usual.
Ha !
I must have seen at least 100, others that were out of range , I don’t know about more than ever, but one is too many ✋️
