In this video, you'll discover how to create an amazing-sounding Techno Rumble kick and bass sound by using this simple but effective effects chain. My name is Philip from Pick Yourself, and I've created this channel to help electronic music producers like you make meaningful progress with their music.
Are you an electronic music producer in a genre like Techno, House, and EDM, you're in the right place! Today, I'll be sharing some insider tips and tricks to help you craft the perfect Techno rumble kick and bass sounds using Ableton Live. You can mimic this process in all other popular digital audio workstations like FL Studio, Logic Pro, and Cubase.
Firstly, I'll show you how to create a simple yet powerful Techno rumble. We'll explore the essential parameters to manipulate, such as frequencies, envelopes, and saturation, to achieve that signature rumble that will make your tracks stand out. Say goodbye to generic kicks and basslines!
We'll then take this rumble to the next level. I'll introduce you to a technique that will help you separate the rumble from the kick drum, allowing both elements to shine individually. This way, you can achieve a tight and punchy kick sound while preserving the distinctive rumble that gives your track that extra edge.
Lastly, I'll reveal my favorite trick to add texture to the rumble kick by applying a unique effects chain. We'll explore various audio effects, such as distortion, modulation, and spatial processing, to create depth and character in your kick and bass sounds. Get ready to unlock a world of sonic possibilities!

Another fantastic video Philip! You have become my go to resource for everything music production :) I think what really sets you apart from other channels is how well you explain each step of your process. It has helped me think more critically about my decisions, and as a result have seen drastic improvements in both the quality of my work and my productivity.

I think this will help make my kicks sound darker and still pack a mean punch! Thank you!

Hey Philip! First of all, thank you for the amazing videos, you are definitely helping me to achieve the sound that I want to. I'm seeing a lot of results thanks to your tutorials! That being said, what reverbs outside of hybrid Reverb from ableton do you think are good for making a rumble? Just a curiosity! Thank you again, and sorry for any mistakes in my english! Keep it up, cheers from Brazil!!

Hello, great video once again. How about a video on making a dark atmospheric drone sound? One that evolves and moves and acts as a 'bed' for the other main elements?

  • @slawomirbialecki2275

    amazing! thank you ! :)

  • @eduardag22

could you make a video about how to use compressors and how to give different utilities in the mix?

  • @Jimantronic

Cool Guide, thanks. Interesting point about the phase cancellation, I wonder if a pitch change device at the start of the rumble chain set to a small value would negate this issue 🤔 BTW you have a slight high pitched whine on your vocal on this video, maybe a noisy computer or something?

My all time FAVORITE subscribe all time!🫡🤝❤️

Hello sir, I wondered if you experimented with the free max for life instrument 'tree synth' to create a rumbly bass. This instrument has so many harmonies in one sound and you could obviously shape them and side-chain the shaper to the kick.

Great video. I tried to do the first example, but never available to me the option to get the signal on the rumble channel from the kick!
