I will never tire of watching Lances Downtown Spur. So much so, that my new layout, currently under construction will be heaviiy influenced by the Downtown Spur. Great Video, Tolga.
I have to say, I have been watching train videos for a while. First time I have ever seen a palm tree on one of these layouts and it looks amazing! Nice work!
Lance, Thanks for sharing this session. While, I, personally, find the bell somewhat nerve dangling, its use does say "this is what happens," and it does. Thanks again. Roger
Great ops session Lance, btw your Sabal Palms are spot-on!! I sure miss the old Orange Blossom Hobbies on 36 th Street. Augie, Chris & Bill from the train dept. , so much time, money and great memories from the O.B.H. - Alex K.
love this little shorty! I am in the middle of building a shelf layout myself. its just a 6' l x 1' w at this time, just a main with 2 switches that curve into "part 2", but part 2 is going to be 1' 1/2 w x 8' L . part 3 will be 1' 1/2 w x 4'L. a scrap yard, a grain elevator and locomotive / car repair shop, and the "TJH" ballast company. not sure where I want the elevator and loco shop yet, because of room constraints. but I will make it work lol. (TJH - Troy and Jessica Hale RR or TJHX). a fictitious "VO 1000 R" ... rebuilt in 2020, with a new EMD 567 block, and re-wired, for 1500 hp is the main locomotive, it was going to be a ex santa-fe "BEEP" but the Stewart frame wont fit the 3d printed body.so I went with an extreme rebuild. an ex KCS gp 9R is coupled to it when working the line to the KCS interchange. got a long way to go, but its getting there. one other thing about the layout is, not so much track that there is hardly any room for businesses, and more real estate. I dont care for a shelf layout that is almost all track and hardly any scenery or buildings. there will be streets, and some small businesses, a gas station, and some other details to make it more life like. when more scenery and stuff is completed I will start uploading videos as it progresses ....stay tuned. just type in "TJHX short line"
Tolga, Fantastic video of your ops session on Lance's layout. Those LSEX scrap metal gons look great, especially spotted up at the Miami Iron and Metal facility! Sorry to see the damage to your locomotive, glad to hear you'll be able to fix it. Thanks for posting and I only wish I was there to be your conductor.-Tom
Thanks Tom! I was pleasantly surprised that they fit pretty nicely with the industry. Wish you were there as well, I could have used a lot of help and with a shortened fuse from 2009's nose damage. I really want to do this again, felt really bad that couldn't hang out with Lance more since I opted for a tight schedule to get to Newport News at a decent hour so definitely we will reconvene.
Tolga another great video of my favourite subject. Can you give me a handle on the 2 LSEX scrap gons in model form. I want to build a couple of O scale and need dimensions LM says you might have a lead. I’d happily buy an HO model if that’s available or just some overall dimensions would be good. Thanks for any help John Pearson
Thanks John! If they have a 52' SIECO Pulpwood flat, that's a great base to start from, since they're generally rebuilt into them. I can work something out offline for you
Yep. My first "big boy" model trains were a Christmas gift bought by my parents when I was 5, from OBH. We crossed the Downtown Spur on 22nd Ave getting there and boy did my eyes open wide there.
An LED upgrade for 2771 has been proposed to Lance. There have been other projects needing more attention, likely a loose connection or burnt out bulbs explain this.
Walthers all the way. You can take it out of the box with out stuff falling out ....im a fratesch fan i dont model USA prototypes.....but if i did i could buy 21 walthers cars to what....9 over priced athearn....
The detail is just the best I have ever seen.

@@lottaaction8072 agreed, Lance really nails it with his use of custom made palm trees.
I love it my uncle retired from CXS as a conductor years ago out of Wildwood Florida

Thanks for sharing Tolga, loved the EOT swap maneuver.
Appreciate it! Wanted to showcase an operational decal I've witnessed in the field

Subscribed. Lance sent me!
@@johncho8766 thank you!
All you need is a fan blowing to make the palm trees move😂😅

No headlights? Ditchlights very dim.
