Okay I grew up with Tommy and the shondells and this cover with Brandon flowers the voice and the rest of his true brothers of music and voice of them brought me back. Thanks guys.
“I Think We're Alone Now" is a song written and composed by Ritchie Cordell that was first recorded by Tommy James and the Shondells. It was a major hit for the group, reaching number 4 on the US Hot 100 in April 1967. It finished at No. 12 on Billboard magazine's year-end singles chart for 1967. You guys do a great job with it!
amazing coverage! thanks for sharing! brandon, you're beautiful! xx This song...wow, brings back memories! brandon makes every song sound fantastic! that voice!
The first Killers concert I went to was at the O2 in London. We were seated really far away from the stage but soaked in every second; it was one of the best nights ever, seeing my favourite bad for the first time. But the latest time I've seen them, my friend and I were one line back from the barrier. Brandon actually thanked me when I shouted 'I love you Brandon!!', and my friend got up and played the drums with them. So floor has more 'opportunities' if you will, and of course you feel more close to the band and the other people around you, but appreciating the music may be even better when in the seated area. You can see the whole stage more clearly, and it's cool seeing the crowd too. And the music isn't so loud that you can barely hear it! Most people get up from their seats and dance anyway. :-) also just realised I'm replying to a comment from 8 years ago, so this mayyy be irrelevant now...
Why can't people appreciate such beautiful music!? Who gives a damn who stole what from who... they didn't steal... they paid copyright and the original artists got royalties! Enjoy the music for what it is... F****** AWESOME, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING... MUSIC!!!
@@peted7985 Yeah, I get that. But this is how celebs like this act; just like Ricky Gervais who comments that people comment that something is offensive when in actual fact they mean that they are offended themselves. For me, there are some things you do not joke about; or at the very least, if he did mean it as a joke, he could have made it funny!
It's interesting to me how two people can perceive and experience the same thing very differently. I've never seen this band on stage before and based on only this one song performance my impression is that he hasn't much stage presence/charisma at all. But I'm guessing you're a fan and have seen them on stage (recorded or live) many times before this and that has probably influenced your take on this.
Children behave, that's what they say when we're together And watch how you play They don't understand And so we're Running just as fast as we can, holding on to one another hands Trying to get away into the night and then you put your arms around me And we tumble to the ground and then you say I think we're alone now, There doesn't seem to be anyone around I think we're alone now, The beating of our hearts is the only sound Look at the way we gotta hide what we're doin' 'Cause what would they say If they ever knew And so we're Running just as fast as we can, holding on to one another hands Trying to get away into the night and then you put your arms around me And we tumble to the ground and then you say I think we're alone now, There doesn't seem to be anyone around I think we're alone now, The beating of our hearts is the only sound I think we're alone now, There doesn't seem to be anyone around I think we're alone now, The beating of our hearts is the only sound Running just as fast as we can, holding on to one another hands Trying to get away into the night and then you put your arms around me And we tumble to the ground and then you say I think we're alone now, There doesn't seem to be anyone around I think we're alone now, The beating of our hearts is the only sound I think we're alone now, There doesn't seem to be anyone around I think we're alone now, The beating of our hearts is the only sound I think we're alone now, There doesn't seem to be anyone around I think we're alone now, The beating of our hearts is the only sound I think we're alone now, There doesn't seem to be anyone around I think we're alone now, The beating of our hearts is the only sound
I like that he correctly introduced who its by.....so many people who cover it introduce it as a Tiffany Song (including Weezer)....and so many covers of it skip the simple but all important bass intro (including weezer).
Well, she did put out the most popular version by far. And it originated in a entirely different generation so it’s actually pretty understandable most people familiar with the Tiffany version wouldn’t realize she was doing a cover
@@jenniferhermanson8969 Not by as far as you may think. She did have a number 1 hit with it....the original reached number 4. Tommy James and the Shondells had 19 songs that found their way into the charts while Tiffany just had 6. Each had 2 number ones. Tiffanys next highest charting song reached 7 (no others made the top ten). Tommy James and the Shondells had a #2, #3 #4 #7 and a #10.
He stole that from Bono from U2 , He sayd in the 80s Helter Skelter ,,Charles Manson stole this from the Beatles, and tonight we steal it Back !! look it up..its somewhere here , on their Live CD from the Eightys
Would love for them to do a proper covers album (Sawdust was decent in that regard). If only to get a studio version of their 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' and this.
I wonder if anyone realized he was doing a parody of U2's Charles Manson bit. As you could see, Brandon was kind of laughing when he said it, not really taking it totally serious.
"Tiffany stole this song from Tommy James and the Shondells, and tonight we're stealing it back. And I stole that from Bono who said 'This song Charles Manson stole from the Beatles, and we're stealing it back'" is what he meant to say.
Really would like to see the killers do covers of songs from bands like The cure, Modern English and Violent Finns. In theory could be and awesome sound.
Not that I am complaining, but what is with all the covers of this song? Billie Joe, The Killers, Bday Mass and tons more. Again, not complaining, just wondered if there was some actual reason
R they ever gonna be the 4 original members again even for one show, one album??? One of the greatest as far as instant chemistry. Brandon sees guitarist in Vegas, gets cassette pops in n Mr BS is first instrumental on cassette, does lyrics n fire. One of the last great bands created as far as they r one on the newest even if double digit yrs yet they r pretty much not the original 4 anymore. Wtf. Them n MCR r two of the best within last 15 plus yrs not too many new original great live bands or bands period even if never Tour but if not for the OG's the Jay-Z with the Roots live or Springsteen n the E Street Band or the Stones not much to look forward to. Love Moz n Cheap Trick and Ala Jaza but noone out there rite now.
You can record others music. No law against it. Only when it comes to the lyrics i thhink you have to get permission from the songwriter or publisher to change it. But Tiffany made it her own and i had the hugest crush on her
You missed the point. Of course anyone can do a cover, but they wanted to take it back from sugar-coated poppy nonsense and make it rock and roll again. Tiffany was awful. You want to hear real 80's female soloists, it's Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Gibson, and Cher all the way.
Covering a song is not stealing it: Being released with the same name and all, besides Tiffany wasn't the first to cover it nor was she the last -case in point.
This is why the Killers are my favorite band.
you arn't stealing it. you're keeping its memory alive by playing it for a new generation to appreciate it.
agreed
Tiffany didn't "steal it" either, it's a cover. Did Snoop Dogg steal "Atomic Dogg?"
I’m glad they stole it back from Tiffany
Listen to U2’s Rattle and Hum (specifically Helter Skelter) and you’ll see where he gets that line from.
Well said!
Possibly one of my favourite covers the Killers have ever done
Killers who? pathetic attempt
The Whole of the Moon is unbelievable
The killers are such an underated band. They have so much talent.
??? They are very highly rated
I was there and this gives me chills. LOVE
These were two awesome shows. Still get chills 6 years later
Okay I grew up with Tommy and the shondells and this cover with Brandon flowers the voice and the rest of his true brothers of music and voice of them brought me back. Thanks guys.
This is great! I used to dance to this song when I was a baby
yes indeed,,,not a problem...thankyou Killers for preserving a great band and song
I just saw them in L.A. tonight. This song was amazing. THEY are amazing!!!! I fell in love
This concert was amazing. So glad I got to go.
I've been an on again off again type of fan of The Killers / Brandon Flowers but this was just an amazing cover, would gladly listen to it all day.
Absolutely love it!!

thanks for uploading this
Love this
Decent cover.. good song... thank you.

come on man, the balls they have to stand in front of thousands and sing this song is epic!!!
+silver fox I wouldn't say its ballsy, any cover they do will probably be met with a good reception
There is a Light That Never Goes Out required balls of steel to attempt to perform.. this one is difficult to sing but is a fun song.
@@MoahGentle Nothing difficult about singing the songs. No complicated techniques, no growling, no belting, fairly basic singing here.
Doesn’t stray too far off from the songs they perform. If Rage against the machine played this song would be a wtf moment.
Awesome recording, sound is really good too. Thanks for posting this!
I love this. I am afraid of going to a concert because I feel anything but floor tickets will be disappointing.
Those 2 shows were my first being close to barrier. I sat in seats the following shows in LA and it wasn't the same.

Please make it Single. Make Make Make Make Make it !!!!! Fantastic
great
Look it up anywhere or ask anyone who knows their music history. Tommy James And The Shondells were the original artists back in the 60's.
True. And brandon's version sounds like the original one. Tommy James and the shendells
And? Stole is a dirty word. It's not Tiffany's fault they are basically forgotten.
OK Boomer

@0:23 LOL that selfie!
actually it's an ode to rattle and hum from u2 when they did a cover of helter skelter
I wonder if anyone realized he was doing a parody of U2's Charles Manson bit. As you could see, Brandon was kind of laughing when he said it, not really taking it totally serious.
Crap I feel like an idiot
I noticed that too
Jeffrey Root- if you got that from that song... get a fucking life
I did. Duh.
I did haha
I would buy this if it was a single
Killers are the best

Jake Gunter Have you seen their cover of Push? Incredible.
Jake Gunter *Femmes...Violent Femmes
This is how to play this tune with the thumbing BASS and driving rhythm.
COME UP WITH A STUDIO VERSION PLZ :(
I think I'm in love
Say what you want about Tiffany's theft: she made it globally famous and made the songwriter (that's not Tommy James & the Shondells) very rich.
Badassness
Love Brandon
The killers need a cover album
Holy fuck I didnt expect all the hate from rabid Tiffany fans in the comments. didnt even know that was a thing, lol
I know, right? Nobody would even know this song if it hadn't been for Tiffany.
82jp, I never even knew Tiffany had a cover of this song. The only version I have ever heard or loved is the original by TJ&tS.
They did a pretty good rendition of the song.
I just saw their shows at MSG and Barclays Center in NYC. They played this at MSG, but not Barclays...really disappointed not to hear it twice.
They should try to cover “love is stranger” from Eurythmics in the 80’s.
@Fran Jolley I was just about to make that comment. What next "this song is not a rebel song" lol
They arent taking it back. They're stealing it too.
Cover
Dude has a great voice. Maybe this song ain't his best but so what?? His voice reminds me of the singer for The Cars.
he has said they were his first favourite band and gave him a lot of inspiration, so that's cool.
Pretty good cover
Why a greatest hits and not just all new material? Not trying to criticise I'm just curious as to why that's your preference.
Not that I am complaining, but what is with all the covers of this song? Billie Joe, The Killers, Bday Mass and tons more. Again, not complaining, just wondered if there was some actual reason

When he said stole, i don't really think he meant it if you know what i mean... 'twas just a rhetorical statement

Come to think about it, this song sounds a bit like Smile Like You Mean It
Umbrella academy gang
funny this was posted on Tommy James birthday :)
Yeah, Tiffany probably made Tommy James more money than he ever did with the song. I don't know if he was so against Tiffany "stealing" it.
+Eddy Guay you might want to look up the numbers on that eddy
LOL at the audience singing to tiffanys versioon......!!!
0:32 you’re welcome
People say the dumbest stuff on Facebook. Not really true. It's on You Tube.
Jeez Brandon sings it so much better 😍
Lana Lovich did the best version of the 2 girls, plus this
Punk band Snuff also covered this song in 1989! See this: ua-cam.com/video/Yw_U6UfKVeM/v-deo.html
Brandon’s excuse to sing this song. While singing he’s thinking of Tiffany and wishing he’s singing and moving like Tiffany did.
Weird al's version is by far the best.
I think I'm a clone now...
Stolen from something U2's Bono said during Helter Skelter in Rattle and hum.
TIFFANY RULES
Stealin it back. Dont you have to own it first? You would be stealing it again. lol good stuff.

Hes super hot.. The best version of this song however is by Lene Lovich from the album Stateless
