I bought one similar to this recently and I've enjoyed it thus far. Seeing you test it as thoroughly and explaining it as much as you did has given me a better insight on my grill. Thanks for the video gentlemen.
Bought and assembled the exact same grill today. Can't wait to try it tomorrow. Solid construction. Easy assembly. 10 year warranty on the burner! 3 year on the rest. That's kinda amazing!
Hello from Dallas. My husband is just completing our custom outdoor kitchen. It includes a fridge, sink and huge Kitchenaide grill. It has infrared available. You’re really teaching me a lot. Thank you!
I first bought the Char Broil Infrared Portable model for tailgating. It was so great that the following week, I promptly bought the Char Broil Signature! The heavy smoke, as it mostly vaporizes the drippings, sends a flavorful aroma into the air that will have your neighbors salivating! Excellent video. Liked how you used your garbage container for cleaning. Thanks!
I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.
HI tjb0128, wonderful! We hope you enjoy your grill. Let us know what you think about it. I grilled this last weekend and enjoyed it very much. Thanks for your comment!
I just started shopping for a replacement grill. I had never heard of this new infrared grill concept. Your video was very informative, and has influenced me to go out and shop for the CharBroil model with this infrared feature. Thanks for posting your video.
My friend have one of those, I did ask to let me cook, 6 lbs of fajitas and hotdogs for two family members, everybody called me the King of the grilling place, the truth is that this amazing grill making it the distribution of the heat is a great design technology, right now I looking to buy one of those. Thanks
Bought this grill when it first came out. I want to point out that the grill grates are suppose to be directly above the wholes of the base plates. You will never get a flare up with this unit, or plug the wholes.
Hi Ozoris Mex, awesome, so happy to hear that you purchased this grill. Hopefully you will enjoy cooking on it for a long time. Thanks for the comment and happy grilling!
We just purchased the 3 burner tru-infrared grill. We cooked on it for the 1st time last night. We made burgers on it. It was extremely smoky compared to our last char-broil grill which was not infrared. I know burgers are more fatty. Do burgers seem to cause a lot of smoke for you as well? It didnt flare up at all, but holy smoke.
HI Justeen, yes, hamburger and any fatty meats will cause more smoke, but it hasn't been an issue for us. Our grocery offers hamburger that has different amounts of fat, 70%, 80%, 90% lean. If this continues to be a problem, maybe try hamburger that is more lean. Let us know how it works out. Thanks for your question!
Great video..👍🏼 I just purchased a Monument grill. It’s going back. This even cooking is perfect. 😁 wow!!! I clean out the bottom out with my shop vac quick and easy.
Absolutely great review. I just bought this grill and you saved me the hassle of reading the user manual 😂😂. Looking forward to cooking without the flare ups.
Hey S, Awesome. We really like ours - hope you get the same satisfaction and great grilling! Oh - yes, THANKS for letting us know where you are watching from. Always like to put some geography with a comment. Thx for watching!
Hi Debby, we renovated that house and sold it. The home is now a vacation rental property. We do property management there, so we still get to enjoy the lake house. Thanks for your comments!
OMG!!! I have been running mine with the grates the wrong way! (Do'nt ask) and I was getting great results for the last 4 years until this year when I started having flare-ups. I was also cleaning as you did about every 3rd cook. Now I am truly on my way!! THANKS!! :)
Me too - used it as it came from Lowe's - it came assembled! This looks way better. I had the holes down, and it tended to plug up a lot. Learn something new every day!
Hi Daniel, there are little sight holes in our grills where you can look to see the flames, which are clearly visible, no need for special glasses. If you get one of these grills let us know what you think of it. Good luck with your purchase!
I can't seem to figure out how to not have chicken stick. Amy suggestions? I rarely do red meat and didn't have a problem with the burgers we tried but chicken every time sticks.
Nice video.I’m buying my neighbors grill. It’s about five or six years old but looks to be in great shape. Is it easy to get parts for these grills if they’re a little bit older? Just in case I need to buy some new grates or burners? Thanks!
Hi Hostile Hessian, we haven't needed to get any replacement parts for this grill yet. But it looks like all you have to do is type in your model number at the charbroil.com site. Here's a link: www.charbroil.com/parts#idx=magento_default_products&q=&hFR[categories.level0][0]=Parts Hope you enjoy your grill!
I am in the market for a new grill and this one looks like a winner. Rich I was wondering how easy the grates are to clean if you cook something like teriyaki wings where you keep basting them. thanks for the video
Hi Steven, one really great feature of the Char-Broil infrared grills is that they come with a tool that is shaped like the cooking grates. You can use it to scrape any debris away and it has always worked well for us. If you purchase this grill hopefully you will find that to be the case. Thanks for the question and good luck!
Hi, we just received this grill as a gift. The only thing we do not understand is when to "put down the top". Have you grilled all those hamburger and chicken with open top and the whole time with that fire? Sorry for my English. Hope you understand me. I already burned almost my whole meat! Best regards from the very south of Chile
Hi Katrin, first off, your English is awesome! I study German and I find it to be quite difficult and I'm not sure anyone would understand what I write. For grilling, a general guide that we follow is if the item you are grilling is over one inch thick, close the lid. If it is under one inch thick keep the lid open. Also, check on the meat every few minutes to see how it is doing. Flip the meat about halfway through the time you think it will take to grill. Some grill masters don't want the meat to be pierced because they don't want to lose any juice, but I always cut all the way through the meat in a small area as soon as I think it is ready to see if it is cooked all the way through. It always works for me. I remove the meat from the grill as soon as it looks good. Meat will continue cooking a for a bit after you remove it, so you definitely don't want to leave it on the grill too long! All meat has its own length of time to cook. You could take notes on each item and write that down so you will know exactly how long to cook each meat. When I am cooking multiple items I write down all of the times I flip the food. I like to grill corn on the cob, which needs to be turned 3 times. So writing everything down definitely helps. Finally, a clean grill does the best, so it is a good idea to clean the grill every couple of times you use it, especially if you have grilled something greasy like hamburgers. Here is a link to show you how we clean our Char Broil grills. This method only takes a few minutes. The goal is to remove debris which will prevent flair ups: ua-cam.com/video/8u4Hb99Rt8Y/v-deo.html Hope this helps, happy grilling!
Thank you! Glad to hear & see this demonstration. Just got a 2 burner commercial too for Father's Day from Lowe's. we love Ours as well, however, I noticed the grease dripping pan is missing on ours so I am going to check back on that at Lowe's. Thanks!
Great video! I bought the updated model last year but every time we grill, there is so much smoke. We are grilling under our back patio and the smoke gets trapped under the ceiling. It literally looks like our patio is on fire. How do you get it to not smoke so much?
Hey Kristine, We have heard that comment more than a few times. Not really sure what the deal is with that. Maybe ours on an open porch dissipated the smoke better…? All you that comes to mind is use a lower temp and cook longer, cook more lean meats as the fat burns well, or…. ??? Thx for watching!
Great video. Question, does your model have the Auto Clean function? Ours does but the settings have worn away and we can't use it without knowing what to set it to! The manual does not show a close up of the control panel. Can you help? Without the settings the grill is useless.
Thank you for showing me I just bought one today from Lowe's can deliver June 6th thank you for showing me how to do it how to clean it only question I have is you have to oil Grill before you put food on it and clean it after you're done put oil on it again what I what I usually do is I have a spray bottle when can you be off nice pretty look great with the in my pressure is heated her clean with water turns into a steam can I use your oil up until we meet again on there and I do it again after I'm all done thank you thank
Hey Rocco, I think you will really like the grill! Yes. I did oil my grates early on. But after a while, I guess I got lazy. I really do like your suggestion of using the water bottle and steam. GREAT IDEA. Thanks for the input. I’ll be sure and try that out. Thanks for watching and commenting
What are usually buy is a pump sprayer a short with water and when the girl gets hot I take my plastic brush spray the bottle on through the Grille and brush it then I take paper towels put oil on it on the grates
Hello, Thanks for review. Can you possibly tell me the equivalent model to this in 2020. I'm looking at 2 .. Char-Broil Performance Series™ 340S and Char-Broil Performance Series T36G5. The latter being about £100 dearer. I'd be happy with the cheaper model if just as good. It has the infrared etc just not as fancy temperature gauges. Can you recommend please. Regards Barrie
Hi Barry, the infrared technology is what really makes the Char-Broil grill awesome. So as long as the less expensive model has that feature, and you don't need a lot of fancy extras, you should be very happy with the less expensive model. After you use is a while, let us know what you think. Thanks for the question, hope you are happy with your grill!
@@Housebarons thanks I will do. I actually got the dearer one on offer so have bought it. I'll let you know how I get on. Sure it will be great. Regards Barrie
Hi Ignacio, I don't use a thermometer when grilling. I cook on medium heat. For chicken I will flip it, then cut into it when it looks ready. If it is white with no pink at all, it is ready to eat. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the information about the infrared grill. I had heard that they easily clog up with grease but see how easy it is to keep clean. I plan to get one!
Hi Loretta, we have been very happy with ours. I think the secret to having good grilling experiences is to keep them clean. It doesn't take very long to clean them well. Maybe every 3 or 4 grilling sessions, depending on what you are grilling. Good luck with your grill purchase!
Loretta Don’t do it, this grill is a piece of crap. You have to take the whole damn thing apart every time you clean it. Removing 7 grates and cleaning them individually is not simple. In addition that little tool starts to rust at the tips after a year. Plus what he doesn’t show you is how the black stuff flies all over the patio and your clothes as you scrape them. I have this grill and absolutely hate it. Buy a Weber genesis with stainless grates. So much better!
@@Housebarons Are you kidding? Your video is over 12 minutes long just to show the cleaning. Infrared grills are a nightmare to clean. Glad you have all that extra time on your hands. Grills should get a thorough cleaning once/year, not every 3 times you use it, more like every time you use it. NEVER
Hi Kris, totally disagree, cleaning this grill is simple. Here is a video that we did recently that shows how easy it is: ua-cam.com/video/8u4Hb99Rt8Y/v-deo.html
Hi David, totally disagree, cleaning this grill is simple. Here is a video that we did recently that shows how easy it is: ua-cam.com/video/8u4Hb99Rt8Y/v-deo.html
I have the exact same grill. I love it. But I need new grill racks but the new model are a 1/4 inch shorter. Where can I get parts? I rigged it for now.
Hi Troy, we haven't needed to get any replacement parts for this grill yet. But it looks like all you have to do is type in your model number at the charbroil.com site. Here's a link: www.charbroil.com/parts#idx=magento_default_products&q=&hFR[categories.level0][0]=Parts Glad to hear that you like your grill!
I love this system. I just made my first smoked salmon perfectly by putting Apple and hickory wood directly on the tru infrared grate over 1 burner without the regular grate and covered with foil. Put the salmon on opposite side without heat, a chilling bowl in middle and after 2 hours perfection. Also, for regular burger grilling, the infrared grates act as flavorizer bars that are mere mm's away from meat versus inches away as with traditional bars.
I bought one recently, i am wondering if i can use one or two burners only in place of all of them to save some gas, and the other question is, can i use it as a normal grill without the infrared sistem? i will apreciate any help.
@@Housebarons Most of all, i have not used this grill yet, it's a matter of time but i will soon and i don't know if i will like this sistem, but i hope it will. Thank you for your help 👍🏼
I am looking for a grill and I saw this one at Lowe’s. For 569 dollars. But you are very convincing. Thanks for taking your time to show off your grill.
Very interesting. I just purchased a two burner grill from Lowes. I came across your vid looking for info on how to put grates over the infrared cooking racks. Do you cover holes with grate or leave holes uncovered? Or does it even matter?
Hey Bob.., All burners won’t light? Sounds like a supply issue. I’d disconnect and reconnect the tank. Something’s the connection isn’t just right. Is the value on top of tank opened? When i turn one of the nobs it’s possible on mine to hear the gas flowing. Any smell of gas? If the grill is new, walk through the trouble shooting guide in the manual. Thx for watching.
Hey Evren, Mick ( from Australia ) commented below about a lot of smoke with his. Something to consider. But I've not noticed mine is worse than any other grill I've had. thx for watching!
Hi buck4life1, true, the grill was dirty, which allowed us to make another video where we show how easy it is to clean the grill. Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/8u4Hb99Rt8Y/v-deo.html
Great video! I just bought a similar Char broil grill. I can't wait to get it fired up. I hope it works out for me the way it did for you. Your food looked awesome. I might need a little salt and pepper though.
I just saw one at Lowes today, interesting idea. Flare ups have always been my biggest issue, mostly with the lid down, do you cook with the lid up or down and does it make a difference with flare ups? So it has been 2 years since you've posted the video, still love it, would you buy anything else? How has it held up, for the price they must be using cheap stainless?
Hi Joe, we still love our Char Broil grills. We once heard a general grilling tip that if the item you are grilling is over an inch thick, close the lid, if it is less than an inch thick, then keep the grill open. Seems like reasonable advice and has worked well. Flare ups usually aren't a problem with this grill whether it is open or closed. However, you do have to clean it or that could become a problem over time. We made another video where we show how you can clean it in under 10 minutes: ua-cam.com/video/8u4Hb99Rt8Y/v-deo.html Regarding the stainless, our grills are still fine. We are good about covering them when not in use. That protects them all through the winter and also prevents the rain from pummeling them during the other seasons. There probably are tons of other great grills out there. We like these, so we will continue to buy them. Hope this helps. Let us know how you like whichever grill you purchase. Good luck!
Hi there! Awesome review 👍. I've always been a Weber guy, and I still love my Weber's but the infrared part of this has me intrigued. Especially for the ease of cleaning and no flare ups. Plus the availability of parts is excellent. You guys have about talked me into one. Y'all's still going strong after two years?
Hey 351, Yes we both have infrareds that are 2 yrs old or older. They work great! Best practice - keep you grill covered when not in use - or they will rust out fast. Thx for watching!
Hi Fabio, we haven't noticed a huge difference in the amount of smoke from this Charbroil grill versus our previous gas grill. If anything, it seems like there is less smoke because the flare ups are greatly reduced, if you clean it every few times you grill. Good luck with your purchase!
I watched a video with the developer of the v-grates and he said it will make more smoke because this design vaporizes more of the melted fat than an typical grill.
Thanks for the info! I was told (by someone who does a lot of grilling on several types of grills/smokers) that you could put the lower plates in the dishwasher. Have you heard anything about this or tried? Thanks much.
Hi Donna, we have not put any of the grill parts into the dishwasher. There really is no need because they come clean easily with the grill tool supplied with the grill and also using a wire brush. We cleaned 2 Char-Broil Infrared grills this week. Each took less than 10 minutes to clean. We recently made a new video showing that exact process: ua-cam.com/video/8u4Hb99Rt8Y/v-deo.html We have been very happy with these grills. They cook evenly, without flareups and are simple to clean. Thanks for your question and we hope you enjoy yours if you purchase one.
Treat your cast iron grates like you would a cast iron skillet. You can season them in your oven and they will be (nearly) non-stick for years. Heavy nylon brush scraping, no soap! Heat in oven until too hot to pick up barehanded and coat with Crisco. Wipe off with paper towel so there is just an even residue left on it. Bake at 425 for 90 minutes. You will love the results. Edit: And now I read that you were talking about the lower plates. Oh well. Cheers.
I bought mine in Australia it is so smokie i can't use it on my patio the people next door though my house was on fire it's a disaster. Lots money tried everything but still hopeless.
I WANT BURGERS NOW!!! 11:00 Awesome review, I picked up a double header infrared Char Broil at Lowes a few weeks ago and loving it. Take a little getting used to it but totally worth it :)
I used to study German. Hopefully some of this will make sense. Guten Tag Tobias!
Hi Debby, the scraper tool came with the Char Broil grill. It is awesome for cleaning the grates because it is specifically designed for them. Char Broil even has a place to hang the tool inside the grill so you don't lose it. Very helpful!
HouseBarons Thank you, thank you. I will look for it. My husband has got her outdoor kitchen completed. I’ll look for an email address for you and forward it. It’s gorgeous
Hey Mike, I believe infa-red refers to the folded grates w/ many small holes which allow heat to cook the food w/o the flames to come through. Thx for watching.
Hey Elwood, It’s all about trade-offs too. The bigger the deck, the greater the maintenance. Life is full of God’s blessings no matter the size of the deck 😀. Thx for watching.
I have a small cast iron box I bought to put wood chips in that give it a smoky flavor. I just put it right on the grill plate next to the food. you can also do the same with wood chips inside an aluminum foil pouch. Happy Grilling!
+Debi Mason-Chichura Hi Debi, this grill has four burners in the main section, but there is also a single burner to the right that is under a lid. This burner could be used to cook something at a different temperature, such as vegetables, or you could use it as a warming burner for food that has already been cooked while you cook additional food. We did another video about converting a propane grill to natural gas that shows the warming burner close up. Thanks for the question, hope this help!
Hi Eagle Empire, we think this CharBroil grill is much more like a grill than a broiler. Broiler foods are sometimes dried out, but all of the food we cook on this grill are quite juicy, due to the way they have designed their system. Hope this helps!
Hi Dwheeler016, actually CharBroil gives a tool with their grill that is triangle shaped and fits perfectly into the IR racks. We should have included that in the video. The CharBroil grill is actually very easy to take apart, clean, and reassemble. Good luck with your grill purchase!
Hey skywarrior28, Sure can. You just need to buy a rotisserie set up. I roast my own coffee beans using a vegetable rotisserie. ua-cam.com/video/o53Y2Ad13WE/v-deo.html Thx for watching!
Nice video. But the char broil keeps steak looking pale. Aneanmic. Pale steak. I have one of these. Good for burger parties and that's that. In fact I tried it again tonight. The grill just does not get hot enough. And it gets cold very quickly. I think it's a not so good system for steak.
Hi Armando, I grilled steak on our Char Broil grill last week and I thought it was fantastic, juicy and flavorful. I wonder if there is some issue going on with your grill. Possibly it could need a deep cleaning or burner adjustments. It seems very odd that you say it doesn't get hot enough, because our Char Broil grills heat up very high. Thanks for you comments, and hopefully you will discover a solution for your grill.
@@Housebarons I have to agree, I have the 3 burner model, most of the time I only use one burner... But I've never owned a gas grill that got this hot and didn't flare up like crazy. Mine will hit almost 800 degrees and get beautifully seared.
Hi Cardell, there is BBQ sauce on the chicken, check out the shot at 9:06. The other meats were hamburger, filet, and brats, so no sauce for those. Reviewing that footage made me hungry. Think I will grill tonight! Thanks for your question!
I had a 3 burner commercial Char-Broil grill given to me it was used it was used when it was given to the my neighbor that moved away the only thing I need to replace is the infrared grates I have to say is it's a badass grill you can buy parts any part on it and go to charbroil.com and they have them. They cook great I even smoked pork butt last week just put the wood in a pan over the heat on low on one end and the pork but on the other end and cooked it for about 8 hours delicious pulled pork. I would suggest getting you a digital meat thermometer instead of cutting into your steak or your brats or chops or whatever stick that probe in it and find out what it really is you don't waste all in good juices. Girl and smoking whatever you're doing a thermometer is your friend.
Hi Panagiotis, ha, ha, you are right, that was a lot of food! I think that was for a Mother's Day celebration. We have a big family when we all get together, so nothing goes to waste. I get hungry when I see the end of that video. Thanks for the comment!
Hello Christine I purchased a Charbroil barbecue on may 7th and now it is all rusted inside the burners the inside bottom and sides of the gas part and the charcoal side is also rusty . your warranty states that it is covered against rust for 5 year. I had a barbecue for 20 years and it rusted after 15 yrs and your grill is rusty in 3 months , I called customer support and they are sending me parts that i have to pay someone to install i do not work for a barbecue family he said he would help me over the phone to install the parts , I paid $400 and it is ridiculous that it is rusting in 3 months , I have had barbecues all my life and nothing like this has ever happened , he said he would give me 20% off towards a new Grill I told him that why would I buy another grill from your company when they are garbage and they rust within 3 months so what does that mean i have to purchase a new grill every 3 months. I need you to send me a Brand New Barbecue one that does not rust. Are you guys building disposable grills now ? Please have someone take care of this situation because it is not good for your Company I cant imagine I am the only call that you got for this grill.
I bought one of these about 5-6 years ago. Worst money I ever spent on a grill. Either chargrill updated them or this guy owns the company. Probability the first choice. He does have a pretty slick deck tho.
Hi Ken, ha ha! Sure wish I owned the company, but this is an honest review. My brother and I have purchased 4 of these grills recently and we think they are great. We spent quite a lot of time renovating our deck ourselves, so thanks for the comment!
You sure you bought this grill? This is a Charbroil, not a Chargrill. I replaced a 20 year old Weber Genesis with this and I find that the major advantage it has over any other grill is the infrared system, the heat is concentrated on the grates, not the box, so it never flares up. It takes a little adjusting to the grill, but if you give it a chance, you'll never want to a primitive grill again. P.S., I also own a kettleman charcoal grill with the same infrared grate system and I love that too!
Dude. You had my respect till you poked the steaks with a fork to flip them and you cut into one to check if it was cooked. Why the hell would you do that?
L Pad. Does the grill perform like a traditional gas grill after u removed the IR grates? I was thinking of removing mine and just using the Teflon coated ones...
@@Jay_Ara YES. The grill works great and is so easy to clean. I get a tall bucket like from the Big Box hardware chains like Menards or Home Depot. Fill with soapy water like dish soap. Let soak. Flip for the other side to soak then wipe off. I have the ceramic coated grates. Teflon degrades under high heat. The grease drips onto the burner shields and gives a great smell and the grates leave great(or is it grate?) marks on the meat. Go to Amazon with your model number. They sell all the parts and when you enter your information tells which ones will or won't work with your grill model. Like giving your grill a tune-up. I was just looking at my grill, eager for another season of outdoor cooking. I don't miss that mesh grid at all. Grease catcher. Caused hot spots, burned out quickly.
I bought one similar to this recently and I've enjoyed it thus far. Seeing you test it as thoroughly and explaining it as much as you did has given me a better insight on my grill. Thanks for the video gentlemen.

I seen a fellow infrared griller use his power washer to clean the grates and infrared heating tray!
Wow, seems like overkill, but maybe that works great!
Great video..👍🏼 I just purchased a Monument grill. It’s going back. This even cooking is perfect. 😁 wow!!!

Hey Michael,
BRILLIANT ! I wondered about that. Thanks for the information!!

Thanks so much for this review. We are planning to buy this in the UK and this video has helped me in making my decision.

Hey user…,
Great! Thank you for watching!
Hi Rich. I was told infrared can only be seen with night vision goggles. Do you or Dave know if I need night vision goggles to see if the grill is on?
Hi Daniel, there are little sight holes in our grills where you can look to see the flames, which are clearly visible, no need for special glasses. If you get one of these grills let us know what you think of it. Good luck with your purchase!
I can't seem to figure out how to not have chicken stick. Amy suggestions? I rarely do red meat and didn't have a problem with the burgers we tried but chicken every time sticks.
Hey Martin,
Same experience for me. It doesnt bother me too much. Sorry....

Here's a link:

Hope you enjoy your grill!
The goal is to remove debris which will prevent flair ups:
ua-cam.com/video/8u4Hb99Rt8Y/v-deo.html
Hope this helps, happy grilling!
Thank you! Glad to hear & see this demonstration. Just got a 2 burner commercial too for Father's Day from Lowe's. we love Ours as well, however, I noticed the grease dripping pan is missing on ours so I am going to check back on that at Lowe's. Thanks!

hi, liked your presentation, I just purchased the signature version of this grill. its currently being shipped. thx for showing how to keep it clean.
Hi Chandler, hope you enjoy your new grill, thanks for the comment!
Keep those lower grill plates oiled or they will rust apart. Other than that it's a great grill. Infrared is great.
You will regret it.
@@troyeager8877 infrared sucks. The cleaning is a nightmare and deal breaker..
Great video! I bought the updated model last year but every time we grill, there is so much smoke. We are grilling under our back patio and the smoke gets trapped under the ceiling. It literally looks like our patio is on fire. How do you get it to not smoke so much?
Hey Kristine,
We have heard that comment more than a few times.

Hey Rocco,
I think you will really like the grill!
Regards
Barrie
Hi Barry, the infrared technology is what really makes the Char-Broil grill awesome. So as long as the less expensive model has that feature, and you don't need a lot of fancy extras, you should be very happy with the less expensive model. After you use is a while, let us know what you think. Thanks for the question, hope you are happy with your grill!
@@Housebarons thanks I will do. I actually got the dearer one on offer so have bought it. I'll let you know how I get on. Sure it will be great. Regards Barrie
great video, what temp did you cook the chicken/meat at? Thanks
Hi Ignacio, I don't use a thermometer when grilling. I cook on medium heat. For chicken I will flip it, then cut into it when it looks ready. If it is white with no pink at all, it is ready to eat. Hope this helps!
@@Housebarons appreciate your help! thanks
I need to know, can't find my grill book. I need how to on heat control.
NEVER

Glad to hear that you like your grill!
Hi dinged2000, you're making us hungry with your description. Sounds like you have it all figured out. This is a great grill. Thanks for the comment!
I have one too, I think you can also put your salmon on the warming rack and the wood just below it so smoke goes directly to it.
Is that the normal amount of smoke? Mine seems to smoke a lot….to where you can’t see when you open the hood…..what am I doing wrong?
General comments seem to say charbroils are smoky. Not sure what is normal … I’d say mine smokes but I manage…

Very interesting. I just purchased a two burner grill from Lowes. I came across your vid looking for info on how to put grates over the infrared cooking racks. Do you cover holes with grate or leave holes uncovered? Or does it even matter?
Hey Del,
I usually have the grates over the holes - to keep debris out of them. But that’s just the way I do it...

Great video! I just bought a similar Char broil grill. I can't wait to get it fired up. I hope it works out for me the way it did for you. Your food looked awesome. I might need a little salt and pepper though.
Hi Danny, we hope you enjoy your new grill, thanks much for the comment, and happy grilling!
We made another video where we show how you can clean it in under 10 minutes:
ua-cam.com/video/8u4Hb99Rt8Y/v-deo.html
Regarding the stainless, our grills are still fine.
Hey 351,
Yes we both have infrareds that are 2 yrs old or older. They work great! Best practice - keep you grill covered when not in use - or they will rust out fast.
Thx for watching!
Just out of curiosity, does it make more or less smoke than conventional grills? We are considering to put at the balcony of an apartment. Thank you
Hi Fabio, we haven't noticed a huge difference in the amount of smoke from this Charbroil grill versus our previous gas grill. If anything, it seems like there is less smoke because the flare ups are greatly reduced, if you clean it every few times you grill. Good luck with your purchase!
In my opinion more smoke but worth it
I watched a video with the developer of the v-grates and he said it will make more smoke because this design vaporizes more of the melted fat than an typical grill.
Infrared grills produce FAR more thick white smoke than a normal grill. It is unbearable
Thank you for the very informative video. Definitely made my choice in grills a lot simpler
Hey Nick,
Glad to help. Enjoy!
We recently made a new video showing that exact process: ua-cam.com/video/8u4Hb99Rt8Y/v-deo.html
We have been very happy with these grills.
Oh well. Cheers.

Hi what was to the right under the lid?
+Debi Mason-Chichura Hi Debi, this grill has four burners in the main section, but there is also a single burner to the right that is under a lid. This burner could be used to cook something at a different temperature, such as vegetables, or you could use it as a warming burner for food that has already been cooked while you cook additional food. We did another video about converting a propane grill to natural gas that shows the warming burner close up. Thanks for the question, hope this help!
So how is it? I heard its more like a broiler? That true?
Hi Eagle Empire,
we think this CharBroil grill is much more like a grill than a broiler. Broiler foods are sometimes dried out, but all of the food we cook on this grill are quite juicy, due to the way they have designed their system. Hope this helps!
Cleaning those IR racks looks like a pain
Hi Dwheeler016, actually CharBroil gives a tool with their grill that is triangle shaped and fits perfectly into the IR racks. We should have included that in the video. The CharBroil grill is actually very easy to take apart, clean, and reassemble. Good luck with your grill purchase!

Thanks for you comments, and hopefully you will discover a solution for your grill.

damm sonn ...when was the last time you cleaned the grill....smh

I purchased a Charbroil barbecue on may 7th and now it is all rusted inside the burners the inside bottom and sides of the gas part and the charcoal side is also rusty . your warranty states that it is covered against rust for 5 year.

We have had one for over 6 years and it is still working great. We love it - altho ours is just a 2 burner.
You shamelessly burned those filets. Lol. Seriously. You must be in the south. L9l
Hi Debby, I do like to make sure all grill foods are cooked through, they are still tasty and juicy though!
Dude. You had my respect till you poked the steaks with a fork to flip them and you cut into one to check if it was cooked. Why the hell would you do that?
No. That system is horrible. It's like a fine mesh. Blocks up constantly. Burns out. Impossible to clean. I switched mine to the coated metal grates.
Hey LPad,
We can say that our experiences have been quite the opposite. But thanks for the input.
