In some spec lists it says that Moto G84 is dlna certified, whereas others don't mention this or even say no - can anyone here confirm or dismiss this claim, please? As far as I have noticed most budget Xiaomi phones - and other brands as well - don't seem to have this very useful dlna feature, or they are not dlna certified to be more precise.
Why is this? It used to be a clever standard feature on even the most cheap Android smartphones, so why would these manufacturers "suddenly" remove such a useful feature for sharing / streaming media files between all sorts of Android devices, smart TVs, PCs, laptoos, gaming consols, projectors etc.?
Is it to save money on a license fee for each unit, or just because it's a 20+ years old standard? ( it actually works better than Chromecast with some types of internet TV stations that you want to stream to your smart-TV from your Android phone or tablet - and not every smart-TV has a built in or an external chromecast device ).
And does this then mean that such Android phones without dlna support / license simply can't use this clever feature at all, or just that you need to install a dlna server & control app like the for instance the great BubbleUpnp on them for the dlna feature to work anyway?
